A few days later, Kakashi sent Koroshi a letter telling her that he wanted to spend the day with her, and so she had Guy to babysit her sons while she went out with Kakashi.
“Koroshi, thanks for coming. I’ve been kinda busy lately, so I wanted to be able to hang out with you for a while.”
“That’s not a problem, Kakashi-senpai. After all, it is like you said—you have been pretty busy lately. And you are a pretty close friend of mine, so I don’t mind spending the day with you, of course.”
“I am glad that you don’t feel awkward around me, Koroshi-chan.”
“I feel somewhat uncomfortable, but not unbearably so. I can get through it, because you are one of my closest friends, Kakashi-senpai.”
Kakashi rubbed the back of his head. “So, Koroshi-chan, what is it that you want, exactly?”
“What do you mean?”
“What I mean is, what do you want for your future? I know you’re in love with Itachi, but what if you can’t be with him in the end? What will you do then?”
“Don’t talk like that, Kakashi-senpai! If I couldn’t be with Itachi-sama, then…then…I don’t know what I would do! I wouldn’t ever be myself again, my love and my heart would be gone. I could never love anyone the same way that I love Itachi-sama.”
Kakashi thought about that. “But what if Sasuke does manage to kill Itachi? What would you do?”
Tears ran down Koroshi’s face. “I just want to see his face!” She cried. “I just want to see Itachi-sama’s face!”
“Whoa, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to make you cry, Koroshi-chan. Please, forgive my thoughtlessness.”
Kakashi gave Koroshi an awkward hug, and then he ran her by Guy’s to pick up her sons and took her home, apologizing again.
‘I will always be here for you, Koroshi-chan. You have my word on it as a shinobi.’ Kakashi thought in his heart as he left to go on a mission.
