Yamato was sitting in a booth already when Kakashi got upstairs. Like the previous nights, he slid onto the bench next to him, ordered his own drink and waited for it to be delivered. "Well, that was…something."
Yamato nodded. "Yes, it was. I don't know if it was what I did or what Sakura did for me before I went down there or some combination of the two, but it definitely seemed more…intense." He squirmed and looked over at Kakashi.
He met his gaze, then stared into his drink. "Her name was Sakura."
"What?" Yamato asked with a raised eyebrow.
"The woman I'd hired. Her name was Sakura. Looked a lot like her, too, except for the hair and eye color." He shook his head. "And she figured out somehow that I was thinking of our Sakura."
"I think they have a sense for that sort of thing. You have to imagine that they see all types. And, no matter how hard we try, we are different than at least some of the men that come into places like that." He paused to take another sip of his drink. "I keep thinking about what Sakura told us to do, you know, let go? Not worry about the women so much? But I can't seem to do it. Haven't yet, anyway."
Kakashi nodded. "Yeah, same here." He shook his head. "I have to say, though, I can understand why some men go looking for those things over and over again."
"No kidding." He paused. "So, I was officially invited back to her. The thing is, I'm not sure how much more extreme I can get with what I'm doing. I didn't see anything on Ninenjin that was remarkably different than Ichienjin. Outside of her willingness to go further with the bondage than Riku was."
"Me, either. Well, we can talk about it tomorrow when we've had a chance to process it all." He went back to his drink, then glanced over at Yamato again. "Are you okay?"
Yamato thought it over. "Yeah. I have to say, I didn't like quite how…intense it was. How…distracted I got. It was harder to think about Sakura tonight for some reason and I don't like that at all."
Kakashi sighed. "Same here." He scrubbed a hand over his face, then readjusted his mask. "Well, we're going to have to deal with it. So will she."
Yamato nodded. "Yeah."
A few minutes later, Gai emerged from the lower level looking rough. He sat gingerly on the seat across from them. "Hi."
They both nodded at him. "Are you okay?" Kakashi asked with a raised eyebrow.
Gai stared at him a moment. "I will be. You don't want to know. At least, not all of it. But I have some news."
Kakashi and Yamato glanced at each other. "Oh?"
Gai nodded. "One moment, though." He signaled to the waitress. When she came over, he said, "just bring me two to start, please. Triples." When she left, he turned to them.
"I should be able to stay on Sanenjin for long enough to get some real information about the lower floors. It will probably take me a few sessions for it, but I think I'll be able to get what we need."
Kakashi looked at Yamato and took a deep breath. "You think so?"
Gai nodded again. "Naoko is the woman I am…seeing down there. She has already hinted at a few of the things that people who seek similar entertainment to me might be interested in. I do not know if I can do them, but if I have an in to the next level, that is all we need, right?"
Kakashi nodded. "Yeah. That's promising." He didn't say out loud that he hoped so. If Gai could get the information without he and Yamato having to go back down there, all the better.
The waitress brought his drinks and refills for the other guys. When they looked up, puzzled, having not ordered them, she pointed to someone sitting a few tables away and they were surprised to see Boss Jirocho sitting with none other than Sakura's customer, Sho. "This should be interesting." Kakashi muttered and stood up to go over and say hi.
"Kakashi. Have you met Sho?" Jirocho asked.
"Um, no. It's…nice to meet you." He had to forcibly tamp down on his jealousy. He wanted to crush the man in front of him into dust. Instead, he held his hand out to shake.
"Kakashi." He said and nodded once when their hands dropped. "I hear congratulations are in order."
Kakashi raised his eyebrow. "Thank you."
"Do you two know each other?" Jirocho asked, looking from one to the other.
Kakashi cleared his throat. "Through Sakura."
"Oh." Jirocho said, uncomfortable. "I didn't know."
"It's quite alright, Jirocho-san. This is not exactly a normal situation." He took another second, then shoved his jealousy to the back. They still had a mission to complete. "May I join you a moment?"
"Of course," Jirocho waved him at another of the chairs. Kakashi motioned for Yamato and Gai to come over them, then took a seat.
"Yamato, this is Sho." Kakashi said and he felt a little better when Yamato had to quell the murderous look. "Sho, Yamato and Gai." They each shook hands, then Yamato sat next to Kakashi and Gai on the other side.
"Yamato. I would like to extend my congratulations." Sho said.
Yamato fought the urge to punch him. Instead, he nodded and said, "thank you."
Sho sighed. "I know how you two must feel. I'm…sorry. I can only say that she's an incredible woman."
"On that we can agree." Kakashi said, then let out his own sigh. "Thank you for the information."
Sho waved it off. "It was the least I could do for her. And you." He met each of their gazes, then dropped his eyes.
Kakashi felt bad for him. Sakura's heart did belong to him and Yamato. This man was in love with her and in the end, he'd have nothing but a few memories while they'd have her all their lives. Kakashi glanced over at Yamato and said, "we really appreciate it. And…thank you for being good to Sakura."
Sho looked up quickly at him and stared. Apparently deciding he was sincere, he smiled. "She's easy to be good to." He shrugged. "You are lucky men."
Jirocho watched the exchange between the three men and it took him just a minute to figure out what was going on. Then it hit him. Sho was the one Sakura had been talking about - her "difficult customer" - because he'd always paid so much attention to her. He certainly knew what it was like to be with her, what she did for those she was with, even or maybe especially because she didn't try too hard. It was just who she was. He could easily understand how Sho had fallen in love with her.
He felt bad for them all around. "I think I have an idea of what's happened. Might I offer a piece of advice?" All four heads turned toward him with inquiring expressions. "Use this. Allow it to help fuel you. Kakashi, I was going to suggest Sho help you. I'd like to invite him up to the house tomorrow…" he paused and checked his watch, "later today for dinner to discuss ways he might be useful. If that's okay with you."
Kakashi still struggled a little with the urge to toss the man in the ocean, but he recognized the fact that he could be helpful, may even have some contacts to help locate the nin. So once more, he shoved his jealousy aside and nodded. "I think that would be very good." He glanced at his watch, too. They still had two hours to go. "Have you filled him in yet?"
Jirocho shook his head. "No. I didn't want to say anything until I talked to you. And this isn't the place for it." He looked at Sho. "Tomorrow, my house, five o'clock."
Sho nodded and stood. "Gai, it was nice to meet you. Yamato and Kakashi, again congratulations. I'll see you tomorrow." He bowed slightly and left.
"More and more bizarre." Yamato muttered and Kakashi snorted.
She didn't panic. She wanted to, but she didn't. She'd seen them all together at the table, talking and she was worried for Sho that they'd end up hurting him. She didn't really think that Kakashi or Yamato would, she knew they'd keep the mission in their heads, but still, she couldn't help pausing to stare for a few minutes.
She only had one more appointment that night and, for once, she was hoping to just go. She'd been through enough for the night. After her guys had left, the others had been relatively simple, and none nearly as difficult as Sho, but there was one that had started to get difficult lately.
He was a quiet type who had been to her most days she'd been there. His name was Kenji and he had dark hair like Lee and Gai did, a wiry frame and serious eyes. He didn't say much, usually enough to get out what he was wanting and little else. But he constantly watched her and always refused to finish before her. Tonight, he'd taken it even further and worked her to orgasm twice before he even took her. She sighed. Sho was enough to deal with.
She stretched a little, then, after making sure no one at the table with Sho and Jirocho was going to cause problems, headed back to Yuri's table. She smiled when she saw Fumio was waiting for her. This, at least, would be an easy one to handle. "Hi, Fumio." She said, smiling. The poor kid blushed just at that.
"Hi. I…you said I could see you again tonight." he cleared his throat.
"Yes, I did. Are you ready?" She looked over at Yuri, who nodded. She took the key for him and turned back toward the private rooms, threading her arm through his.
When Fumio left, she stopped in the bathroom to clean up then headed back out to the club, hopefully for the last time. She wanted to just go, she'd had enough for the night. She approached Yuri's table and he smiled up at her. "You're free to go, if you wish."
"I think I'd like to. It's been a rough night." She smiled.
"Are you okay?" He looked up with concern.
She nodded. "Yes, nothing bad physically, Yuri."
He smiled in understanding. "Would you believe I understand?" He paused. "Would you sit with me for a minute?" Sakura blinked in surprise, but slid into the booth opposite him, noting that she barely felt her tail. "When I first started at the Inu club, I thought it was just dancing. This was quite a while ago, before the other things we do were legal. The manager of the club let us decide, at first, how much we wanted to do. When I discovered just how much more there was, what other things my fellow dancers did, I was…understandably floored. I thought, for sure, that I couldn't do something like that." He paused and signaled to the waitress. "Would you like a drink?"
She nodded. "Thank you."
He held up two fingers, then turned back to Sakura. "As I was saying, I spent quite a while simply dancing over there, sure that I couldn't do anything more. I'd never considered something like that and, in fact, wasn't even positive about the dancing at first. I'd needed a job, been told that I could be good at it, so I took it." He shrugged. "It's usually not the kind of career you go looking for." He paused as the waitress brought their drinks.
Sakura chuckled. "No, no it isn't."
He smiled. "Right. Then one night, one of the ladies at the table I was dancing at convinced me I could go much further if I'd just be willing to try it." He shook his head. "You can imagine my thinking. Entirely aside from the nervousness, I had no idea how to pull something like that off. They had things there that we could use like you do, but I hadn't needed them, yet." He shrugged again. "Anyway, she was pretty enough, so I didn't really need anything at first, and I followed her back."
"She ended up being a regular of mine for a long time. She told me once that she was in love with me." He looked up at her and Sakura thought he knew about Sho. "I couldn't believe it. I mean, that seemed completely ridiculous to me. She saw me an hour every few days, right?" Sakura nodded, knowing exactly what he meant. "But she insisted." He sighed, staring into his drink. "She was the hardest customer I ever had to deal with. I learned how to handle it, eventually. And I had a few others like her over the course of my time there. But none quite as…difficult…to deal with as she was." He looked up at Sakura.
"I don't know what happened to her. She stopped coming to the club one night and I never heard from her again. I realized then that I'd come to care about her. More than I should have as a male prostitute, but…" he shrugged, "we can't dictate our feelings. After her, I managed to keep myself separate a lot more. But she had definitely shaped me."
They fell into silence a moment, Sakura turning over what he was saying. "I guess what I'm saying is that I understand. Eventually, it gets easier." His eyes met hers, "either he'll give up or stop seeing you."
She looked down at her drink, then back up at him. "How did you learn to separate yourself?"
Yuri stared into his drink again thoughtfully. "By thinking of other things. Anything, not just other people. I will say that you have a bit of an advantage over men in that it doesn't require the same… attention… to do what you have to do." He smiled at that. "But eventually, I managed to balance it well enough."
"Thank you." Sakura sighed. "That really does help."
"If you need to stop seeing him, I can help you. Make sure your schedule is full. I wouldn't normally do something like that, but you remind me a lot of me when I started. You and your cousin, both." He drained his glass.
Sakura was stunned. "Thank you. Again. I…don't know if I will yet." She glanced at her ring. "But it helps to know that it's an option." She shook her head, "you don't expect to deal with these kinds of things."
"Don't I know it." He shook his head. "Occupational hazard."
She laughed. "Something like that." She reached across the table and put her hand over his. "Thank you, Yuri. I really do appreciate it."
"If you need to talk, you can come to me. I understand more than you know." He stared at her a moment and she again had the uncomfortable feeling that he knew she was undercover. But she mentally shrugged it off.
"Thank you. I… will." She saw Tenten walk through the door then. "There's Tenten."
"Well, you two go home, get some rest. I'll see you later tonight." He smiled. "And thank you for the conversation. It's nice to have more than discussion over reservations."
She laughed. "Anytime, Yuri." She squeezed his hand and met Tenten. "Time to go home."
"Thank goodness." Tenten sighed. "I thought this night would last forever."
"Yeah, me, too. I have a lot to tell you. Come on." Sakura said and they headed for the dressing rooms.
