Sasuke had wandered around the playground, black cat ears pressed down, his brows furrowed. No matter how much he ignored it, the blond haired, blue eyed fox wouldn’t stop following. He had climbed up high on the playground equipment knowing the fox didn’t like heights. And it worked he was sitting up atop of the monkey bars, staring down smugly at the smaller boy.

He waited for the boy to go away, he thought he would. He could wait it out though. Well that’s what he told himself. So why was he getting irritated at the big blue eyes staring up at him. Sasuke gritted his tiny fangs together, trying to tear away his black eyes from the fox. It wasn't working. Why? Because those eyes were looking at him and starting to water.

And with a frown and a glare he found himself jumping off the bars landing on his feet in front of the fox. “Well?” Sasuke nearly hissed, as blond spiky hair tilted to the side in confusion. Only serving to make Sasuke more irritated. “ I’m not going to play with you, if I don't know your name.” He watched a grin spread out across the fox's face.

“Naruto.”

Sasuke turned, feeling annoyed that he even had to play. Even more when Naruto grabbed his black tail with a grin, asking what his name was. “ Sasuke.” He growled, moving towards the swings.

Sasuke sighed staring up at the night sky, feeling his tail being pulled on. After fourteen years he was used to the fox pulling on his tail. He didn’t quite get why Naruto felt he had to pull on it, it wasn’t like he was going to disappear into thin air. He realized when they were kids Naruto did it to keep from being left behind or alone. So after the first two times he stopped letting it bother him. Now if it were any other person there would be a problem. But Naruto had been his best friend since he pulled out the pout to make Sasuke play with him, years ago. Well, they were more than friends, they had a bond that had formed over the years that couldn’t be broken. Even when Naruto would irate him. And it was a bond that no one could come between.

“Hey Sasuke?”

“Hm?” Sasuke opened his eyes, leaning his head to the side slightly so he could see Naruto from the corner of his eye.

“That girl is staring at you again.” Naruto nodded in the direction where a small group of girls were standing.

Sasuke had frowned his eyes moving in the direction of the bunny girl and her friends. These girls had been trying to separate Naruto from him. How did he know? He spent everyday and every night with the fox, since they meet that day. That day Sasuke had just moved into the orphanage. They had been trying extra hard lately to get him alone, it was getting on his nerves.

Sasuke sat up on the bars causing Naruto to release his tail as he jumped down, landing in front of Naruto who was staring at him curiously. He knew what they wanted, but he had no interest in them or her. The only one he even cared about Naruto but that was because the fox forced his way into Sasuke’s heart.

Which was why they needed to learn now. Sasuke lifted a hand, hooking long thin fingers under a lightly tanned chin. Tilting Naruto’s head back and feeling their eyes on him as he pressed his lips against soft pink ones. He pulled back slightly finding Naruto staring at him eyes half closed. At least he wasn’t upset or pulling away. Sasuke’s tongue darted out licking along his bottom lip, before he did it again, this time his lips lingering a little longer, his eyes closing when Naruto’s slipped shut.

When Sasuke finally pulled away, his eyes meeting Naruto’s whom spoke before he could. “ What was that for?”

“You didn’t like it?” He didn’t like that, because he liked it. . . a lot.

"No, it’s not that I didn’t like It. . . I was just wondering why.”

“To make them leave us alone.” Sasuke grumbled looking away, “ But. . . I liked it too.”

Naruto smiled hand reaching out taking a hold of Sasuke's tail. " So. . ."

Sasuke stared at the ground for a moment, he was sure Naruto was wondering what it meant. Why couldn't he just get it like Sasuke had. But, Naruto was not the type to figure it out. Sasuke had just figured it out when he kissed Naruto for the second time. He really liked Naruto.

"Lets go home Naruto, its getting late." He didn't want to say it, he wasn't the type to say something like that anyways not even to Naruto. Though he may have to eventually but not right now.

Naruto nodded walking slightly behind Sasuke hand still on the furry tail, he smiled though with that slight sway of the tail he was holding.

Naruto slipped into his bed right across from Sasuke in their little room up in the attic. Naruto had begged Tsunade to them them live in the attic instead of sharing a room with other kids. They had their own little place away from everyone else which is what Sasuke liked and wanted, which gave Naruto the idea in the first place.

Since the day the six year old come into the orphanage Naruto knew he wanted to be next to Sasuke. Even when the cat hybrid ignored everyones existence. He had recognized that look of loneliness and wanted to be by Sasuke always. Though the kiss surprised him, he still enjoyed it. The feel of Sasuke’s lips against his own had his stomach doing little flips. He had never though before of them being together like that, though he was fine just as long as Sasuke was with him . . .

“Hey Sasuke?” Could they?

“Hm?”

“Do we get to be together forever?” If he got to be with Sasuke then he would be happy, that’s all he really wanted.

“There’s no such thing as forever.” Sasuke sighed rolling over onto his back as he spoke. Letting his answer sink in as Naruto went silent. It took him a moment to process the words as he found himself sitting up as Naruto rolled over facing the opposite direction. Sasuke slowly rose from his bed, the floor creaking along the way to Naruto’s bed. He hadn’t meant it like that.

Naruto’s lips were pressed into a thin line when Sasuke answered him. Was it really impossible? He just wanted to know Sasuke would always be with him. He had hoped that over the years Sasuke had come to feel the same. He rolled over facing away from Sasuke.

Naruto opened his eyes not realizing they were clenched shut, when he felt his bed dip. He turned quickly finding Sasuke hovering slightly over him.

“I,” Sasuke wasn’t one for words, or comfort, but he was about to try. “ We don’t live forever, but. . . “ Sasuke frowned mostly at himself. “ I like you,” Wait, that wasn’t right, he needed too,” I mean well be together for a long time. So worrying is,” He didn’t know how to do this.

Naruto stared at Sasuke as the other male fumbled with his words. A small smile slipping onto Naruto’s lips tan arms wrapped around Sasuke’s shoulders, hugging him close. Sasuke felt the same, it made him incurably happy. “ I like you too, Sasuke.”

Sasuke released the breath he was holding, thankful when Naruto seemed to understand. For once, but now was not the time to mock how dense Naruto could be. No, instead he wrapped his arms around Naruto’s back, returning the hug.

"Hey Sasuke?”

“Hm?”

“We can be together for the rest of our lives?” Naruto whispered into Sasuke’s neck.

Sasuke smiled though Naruto couldn’t see it, “ Yeah, we will be.”

Naruto hugged Sasuke tighter his smile turning into a grin as his tail wagged furiously, Sasuke’s own tail wagging happily. It was a good thing he kissed Naruto, though he wanted to do it again. But the death grip of a hug the shorter male had on him gave him the feeling he wouldn’t be moving anytime soon. Well at least they had plenty of time for kissing later. Though for the first time in Sasuke’s life he really wanted to do something and couldn’t loosen Naruto’s grip enough to kiss.
