On "Of Sacrifices and Love"

Kirei here! So many of you were seemingly confused by a few things in "Of Sacrifices and Love". We apologize. I had laid this out to make it more clear to myself what Sasuke's limits and restrictions would be, but I didn't realize it might actually end up needing to be posted. However, with a few corrections and additions, I think this will thoroughly explain the answers to your questions.
NOW. To those of you who have been complaining that Sasuke was "too powerful", I have to shake my head and sigh in your general direction. HE'S A NINJA FREAKING VAMPIRE FOR GOODNESS SAKE, AND HE WAS POWERFUL TO BEGIN WITH. *clears throat-cough cough* Sorry, but I think we've been over that before at some point. LoL. I'm not mad. Honest. Just, miffed I suppose. It seems that people have become too disenchanted with the original fear of Vampirism. *shrugs* Oh, well. That's media for you.
Anyway, on with the explaining. Here it is. An insight into the way my mind really works when plotting and such. Yes, a LOT of this is mine, but some of it is from or derived of other things! I can't take credit for everything but I can take credit for putting it together like this! MINE! LoL... Hope everyone at least enjoys my attempt at a journalistic approach to this. Teehee, I suck so bad at stuff like that.

~*~*~ On Sasuke's Vampirism ~*~*~

----------Becoming a Vampire----------
A Vampire is made through blood transfusion. The Vampire-Master must choose his apprentice wisely and then decide how best to Change the human chosen. There are two methods of Change in my book of vampirism and they are these. The first, a quick and brutal drain of the chosen human's blood, bringing them right to the brink of death and then the Vampire will gouge his wrist and offer it to the dying mortal, to replenish the blood supply that the mortal has lost. In this method the change is immediate and very painful. With this course the chance of the changeling turning Ghoul is high, but Ghouls are explained later. The second method is my method of choice. In this, the exchange of blood happens gradually over an extended period of time. Three transfusions are necessary here, the first being a small amount, the second being half and the third being nearly all of the blood removed and as much given back. Then the chosen human dies quietly, usually in sleep, and when they awake again they find themselves renewed so to say or Changed. The chance of the changeling turning Ghoul with this method is very low.
Should, for any reason, the chosen human not receive the right amount of Vampiric blood in return for their own in either case, they will change only partially becoming instead a Ghoul or Zombie with only one thing on their decaying brain: To Feed. They are reborn pathetically with only the Vampire's lust and longevity - though they decay like any corpse - and very little of their preternatural skills. It is the Maker's duty to destroy any such monsters he creates, though the few bad apples keep them around as disgusting tokens of amusement until they rot into something even the Vampire that made them cannot stand any longer and then the Ghoul is turned loose for the Slayers to take care of.
An apprentice is chosen carefully and a pretty much uniform criteria is followed. Mostly humans who are social outcasts, reclusive, or quiet and unnoticeable are chosen to carry on their Master's legacy. They are humans who seek acceptance with profound persistence and determination. They are humans who, no matter what, will never fit in with human society quite right. And they must have an undying will to survive.
----------On Blood Lust and Emotions----------
Vampires are truly extraordinary creatures. They wear a human guise that is the vessel of a beast far worse than any demon, for they can slip through society completely undetected if they so choose. They are the highest level of predator and there is not much that they fear.
Every emotion to a Vampire is like an intense epiphany. Emotions, like fear, to them are nearly cataclysmic sensations that drive them to seek alleviation for some or a quiet moment to bask for others. And emotions like fear, anger, and sexual lust are linked and woven into the one additional sensation granted them upon their Change. Blood Lust. It is something that no Vampire can avoid completely and it is something than no Vampire in his right mind would ignore. The more satiated the Vampire keeps his Inner Beast, the less he runs the risk of losing himself to its demands. Should a Vampire go for too long without a human blood meal he runs the risk of losing his consciousness entirely to the Thirst and so becomes a ravening monster with only one thing on its senses and mind: Blood.
It is entirely possible for a Vampire to substitute human blood with that of animal blood, but because of the genetic differences and variety of diets of any animal race, this substitution is only possible for short periods of time. Vampires were once human and so their systems seek the most similar vessel to replenish the blood in their bodies. Vampiric blood cells use human blood cells as a source of nourishment. And the more powerful the body that the blood is taken from the more powerful the blood received makes the Vampire. Much like Sasuke's Sharingan is part of his DNA, so is the power of any ninja or other life form found within their genetics as imprints or even as predisposition.
----------Vampiric Attributes and Abilities----------
It is impossible to simply stare at a crowd at any time of the day and pick out a Vampire. They have few traits that point them out directly. In fact, there is only one that is reliable and even that is hard to determine. Vampires have an unnatural grace and unearthly beauty about them. They are much like beings evolved from cats in their finesse and stature. However they hide it so well that one is never sure if they are looking at the undead or just some very fortunate young man or woman that is well gifted with such fine traits. Often times, though, if one can get close enough safely, it might be seen that there is a strange paleness to their skin and their eyes gleam just a little bit with unnatural iridescence.
Being already dead, it is hard to find ways to exterminate a Vampire. There is something about the properties of good strong wood in the form of a flesh piercing stake that has extremely negative effects on a Vampire's sluggishly beating heart and Vampiric cells in general, but why is unknown even to the Vampires themselves.
A Vampire's blood, as mentioned before, is where his power lies. That blood alters every cell in a Vampires body during his Change making his muscles tougher and stronger, his eyesight keener and his hearing more powerful. His sense of smell elevates and his sense of taste refines. Every cell becomes preternatural making the Vampire capable of so much more than a normal human.
The brain of a Vampire is altered much more than the rest of him, as amazing as that seems. Though the Dark Gift is different for every Vampire, most of the undead are granted the abilities of mindspeech and whatever their Maker chooses to grant them of his own stock of Power. Telepathy, as it is scientifically called, is either a strong gift or a weak one and cannot be increased in power by any means. Telepathy is also what enables a Vampire to control the minds of those around him. The weakest manifestation of Telepathy is something every Vampire has though not all are capable of controlling it consciously. Alongside Telepathy are Empathy, Telekinesis, Firestarting, and Psychics. Sasuke is granted strong telepathy, moderate empathy, moderate telekinesis and strong Firestarting. His psychics are so weak they might not even be manifestable.
There is one other mental trait that is granted as power is gained and that is control of the elements. The more powerful the Vampire the more control he has over the gales and thunder, the lightning and precipitation. This is handy especially when a Vampire wishes to go out during the daylight hours but has not yet out-aged his weakness to the sunlight. Fledglings are rendered mostly helpless by the day time especially because of the sun. It is hard for them to rise from their Death Slumber. However, in Sasuke's case, though he is only a few years aged, he has drunk the blood of many powerful ninja on his return journey home and is progressing along the Vampiric limitation chart quickly. And as Sasuke ages, and as he gains power since he seems to be doing so quickly with all the powerful and willing ninja of Konohagakure at his disposal, he will eventually be able to walk in the sunlight once more unscathed or irritated.
One thing interesting about a Vampire's ability to gain strength is that it multiples faster while they sleep. Latent power roils and builds within them the more they slumber and in the Old Days it was not uncommon for a Vampire who did not mind losing some time, or could not handle the changes of society around then, to Go To Ground. Literally, then, the Vampire would bury himself and sleep within the earth until something outside pulled him from the ground out of curiosity once more. Each time the Vampire awakes he is stronger, though now Vampires do not bury themselves if they have the choice of a better resting place.
Of a Vampire's physical abilities, there is their superhuman speed, agility and strength, unexplainable in its complexity but by the slight conclusions able to be drawn from the information already presented.
Regeneration is one of a Vampire's key traits physically. The amount of damage a Vampire can initially take is massive, but when it begins to show the Vampire's healing factor kicks in immediately. Multiple wounds can slow this ability down considerably, but a Vampire is fully capable of doing serious damage himself even if he is bleeding profusely. That loss of blood however will eventually put a Vampire into Frenzy. Frenzy is the state a Vampire reaches when he has lost enough blood that his body's ability to regenerate becomes unable to continue making repairs. This happens almost always during a fight against either another Vampire, another creature of the Dark World, or against a slayer.
----------Enemies of the Immortals----------
Of a Vampire's enemies there are many. Of those they fear there are few.
The werewolf has been the nuisance of the Vampire's existence for centuries. As of now there is a pact between most of the Dark World walkers, that states encroaching is punishable by death from all, meaning if a werewolf does not respect a Vampire's hunting grounds or person, then all of the Dark World will punish him. Witches and other forms of Shapeshifters, your basic Immortals and beings assimilated with the legends of the Hollow Hills have, for the most part refrained from getting into the petty disputes of the Vampires and the werewolves, usually over hunting grounds. Two very dominant species have a very hard time coinciding period let alone coexisting in the same territory.
Slayers are about the only beings that can get the jump on a Vampire. They are very few and very rarely seen. They almost always die in an attempt to take out a Vampire far too powerful for any normal human to take, but they sometimes get a little lucky, or they get smart and quit. Slayers are just humans who are either stupid or vengeful.
----------A Few More Things----------
As mentioned before most Vampires are sluggish or incapacitated during the day though that fades with age. It is during this period of time, or truly, any period of time when a Vampire seeks his rest, that one learns how truly inhuman these creatures are. There is balance in everything, good and evil, love and hate, and life and death, and for even a Vampire this must hold true. If a Vampire is considered living while he is awake then he is most certainly considered dead while he sleeps. To just looking upon a resting Vampire one would think they had gone back to the grave. Their skin loses all warmth, their eyes become glassy, they do not breathe and to detect a heartbeat is so near to impossible no one is certain there is one, though some claim they have found it. However, though a Vampire appears dead, he is not. Prick your finger and put it to his lips. You'll find out how quickly he can come around.
Finally, it is possible for a Vampire to aid his mortal friends through more than brute strength and mental skill. Vampiric blood is a potion that is both delectable and powerful in it's assistance to healing and a temporary boost of strength, similar to steroids but on a far larger scale without any of the harmful side effects. It has no effect on the human body's future function except perhaps to extend the longevity of the mortal's life.
----------Lastly----------
In the case of Sasuke suddenly being able to walk in the light of day, as mentioned before, the body seeks the most similar vessel for nourishment. Itachi and Sasuke are brothers, and thus their DNA is even more similar than human to human comparison. Itachi's blood restored Sasuke's cells a little to the human-side enabling Sasuke to sleep as a normal human does and benefit from it though it is not necessary and also to walk in the daylight. Another part of his new resistance is due to the fact, as I believe I may have already mentioned, that he had been Feeding from powerful ninja of the village and also from Naruto. To explain more thoroughly as to way Naruto did not become a Vampire, as stated at the beginning of this explanatory piece, there was no complete loss or major loss of blood on Naruto's part and he only had a tiny sip. Just what one can get from biting another, piercing a little skin and get a little in the mouth. Not nearly enough to cause more than a minor head-rush of Power.
Now, before anyone thinks of this I'll explain. Sasuke and Naruto are capable of drinking from each other in small amounts for power boosts. Though Naruto is human and a ninja he houses a demon with him and thus that demon's power has infused into his blood and chakra. Sasuke gains his power boost from that. Now any human that drinks from a Vampire will temporarily feel a similar power boost. Add that to the fact that Naruto's own abilities are already added to Kyuubi's and you've got a deadly team.
