Sasuke tensed as the Mizukage unleashed even more power and turned into a spinning armored ball of death. That ball charged right at Gaara and Naruto. It collided with the two other demon vessels, but that’s when the hidden sand came into play.
“Almost time.” Kakashi murmured as his eyes hidden behind the mask watched the fight.
Both Naruto and Gaara unleashed their own demonic chakra. In an instant the spinning Mizukage ball was slammed deep into the earth. For a moment he was stalled, but that wouldn’t last. Without wasting another second Gaara made a hand sign.
Deep in the newly formed tunnel the sand came to life. As the demon Mizukage ball tried to spin the sand surrounded it. Any traction was completely removed and the demon ball was left spinning helplessly in place.
“Seal him!” Naruto yelled loudly instead of signaling silently.
Sounds foolish at first. After all, why give the enemy any heads up? However, there was one reason to allow this slip and that’s to let someone try to escape.
Thankfully, Naruto’s suspicions were correct. Just a split second before the series of hand signs were completed something zipped out of the sand. If Naruto and Gaara weren’t expecting it they might’ve missed it. What they didn’t expect was for the black blur to get out of the sand pit and immediately turn back around to charge at them.
While Naruto and Gaara were legitimately finishing the seal they couldn’t move fast enough to stop it. It looked like the blur wanted to find a less trapped vessel or to kill the ones sealing the Mizukage. As it got closer you could tell it’s sights were set on Naruto, but that didn’t matter. This part was exactly what Sasuke and Kakashi were waiting for.
Both immediately tackled the blur before it could attack Naruto’s back. Kakashi sent a chakra charged punch straight to the blur. The intense punch forced the blur to swerve and slow down. It slowed so much that they could see that it was really the orange masked man, who never expected Sasuke to appear in front of him and seal his chakra.
“Noo!” The man with the orange mask screamed the second he realized he couldn’t use his chakra.
Of course, that didn’t stop him from trying to get away. However, the sealing was done, which meant he was against four people. Naruto and Kakashi stopped him from running by quickly getting in front of him. When he turned to get away from the ninjas in front of him Sasuke and Gaara knocked him into Naruto’s arms. To help Naruto restrain him Gaara used his sand to bind his legs and hands.
“I’m sorry, Obito.” Kakashi said sadly, making the man, who was struggling violently, pause for a moment.
Obito’s single eye widened behind the mask when he realized who it was, “Kakashi, stop! This can be fixed! Rin, our sensei … we can have them all back if we control everything-“
“By following, Hiruzen, the man who admitted to organizing Minato-sensei’s death with your help, which left his son an orphan?” Kakashi asked bluntly.
The bound ninja was so furious by the comment that he was practically foaming at the mouth, “Minato-sensei never got to have a child because Danzo killed him and replaced him-“ Obito froze when Naruto removed his own mask revealing his blonde blue eyed features. “No … no. No!”
“I’m sorry.” Kakashi said as he realized Obito was probably too far gone and they couldn’t risk keeping him bound until the Aburames could reverse anything done by Inoichi. Without another thought he slashed his former teammate’s throat. “Thank you for letting me try.”
Naruto nodded as he put his own mask back on, “It was worth a shot. I’m sorry it didn’t work.” He said sincerely as Sasuke burned the body with a fireball. “Now … let’s see if Yagura is a little nicer.” Naruto said as the four of them returned to the sand pit where they trapped the Mizukage.
After a moment Gaara had his sand raise the sand coated demon ball upwards. Once it reached the surface Naruto reversed the seal. Everyone stood on guard as Gaara removed the sand and revealed the curled up ball of a demon turtle.
“Yagura.” Naruto called out trying to wake the Mizukage up. They tensed when the large six tailed turtle demon uncurled and stood upright. “Yagura. Can you understand me? Do you know where you are?” Naruto asked calmly as the turtle looked around in confusion.
Sasuke went back to the ashes that were left of Obito’s body and brought back a chunk of the orange mask, “You were being controlled.” He said and set the mask down on the ground in front of the Mizukage.
The eyes of the demon vessel lingered on the mask for a few minutes. Finally, the Mizukage shrank back down into his normal human form and picked up the mask. As the others watched, Yagura shattered what was left of the mask.
“Fucking bastard!” Yagura snapped furiously as he realized exactly what happened. After a second he looked at the team of ninjas that freed him. “You knew exactly how to free me.”
Naruto shook his head, “We knew who was involved and tried to force the guy to let you go. It’s lucky that it worked that way.”
Yagura frowned, “You knew who he was? What else are you aware of? He was working with-“ The child like Mizukage froze when they heard a bang. “What the fuck am I thinking?! There’s no time for this! I need to stop the war.” He exclaimed as he ran to grab the staff he originally started fighting with, but just when he was about to jump down from the cliffs he stopped and stared in shock.
Of course, Naruto, Gaara, Kakashi and Sasuke went to see what stopped Yagura in his tracks. They had to head that way to find their friends and make sure they’re ok anyway so it was best to see what the fuss was about. To their shock there were large images being projected on the misty fog that was normal in Mist.
“It works!” Kakashi cheered excitedly.
Naruto chuckled as the extra large images of naked people flitted across the mist like a perverted slide show, “So this is what you and Sakura worked on while in the submarine.” He said quite impressed by the video quality they got despite using the mist as a screen. He’d have to ask how they did that later. “Thankfully, Yagura. I’m pretty sure both your ninjas and the rebels were slowed down-“
“How the hell?!” Sasuke exclaimed loudly before clearly realizing he attracted the attention of the ninjas there. “We should leave!” He yelped before bolting towards the center of the projection area.
However, Kakashi, Naruto and Yagura lingered for a moment. That’s when Naruto spotted a specific picture in the pervy projections. It was of a perky, fair skinned butt with an adorable tattoo.
“Huh … a blonde blue eyed fox.” Naruto murmured curiously as he looked at the cute tattoo of a fox curled up, which sat on the right butt cheek of a man. That man was lying on his stomach in a bed, but the dark haired man’s face was buried in the pillow so he couldn’t be identified. However, Naruto had his suspicions. “We really should get moving.”
Yagura shook his head quickly to get himself to focus before quickly running off with the ninjas who helped him, “Back to my last point. Do you know who Obito is working for?”
As they kept a very fast pace Naruto nodded, “Madara, Hiruzen and Rasa are the main players along with Inoichi Yamanaka who seems to be the scum bag lackey. Did I miss any?”
The Mizukage gave a very relieved sigh, “As far as I know you listed all of them … even more actually. I didn’t know about this Inoichi guy.”
“Trust us, you don’t want to.” Kakashi grumbled.
Gaara nodded, “and before you ask we have a plan to take them down. The kazekage is no longer an issue.”
“I see. Thank god. So that means Konoha and Madara are left.” Yagura said as the trees blurred passed them. “How can I help?” He asked in an icy tone. The Mizukage was definitely pissed and the bodies of Mist ninjas and rebels they passed might’ve had something to do with it.
Naruto sighed, “I understand why you’d want to help, but for the moment you have a village to rebuild. If you don’t mind if all of this was kept quiet for a while, that'll help a great deal.” He explained though he could tell the Mizukage wanted to do more. “We’re waiting on a trap to be set. Depending on what happens we could use your help.”
Yagura nodded seriously, “Just tell me what to do.” He said, but for now his main focus was protecting his people.

The team 7 puppets finished making a campsite and making a meal. Obviously, the puppets don’t need to rest or eat, but they had to make it look like they did. It’ll help with the story later on.
As the old orange clothes were tossed into the campfire the blonde puppet smiled, “Make it look good, guys!” The Naruto puppet exclaimed with a sneaky grin and sporting all new black gear before he raced off through the trees.
Once the blonde was gone the Kakashi, Sasuke and Sakura puppets took a few moments to wait. After a little while Kakashi slipped into the very crowded streets of the nearby village. It wasn’t the village they were supposed to go to. That one is farther off, but they didn’t have to go all that way.
The meals were tweaked so they looked eaten. After that the Sakura puppet adjusted her henge so it looked like she was punched in her jaw and trampled. With that extra detail in place Sasuke ruffled his own clothes and draped her over his shoulder.
Sasuke scoffed, “You’re hiding.”
“No, the boss is not hiding. She’s with Mei.” The Sakura puppet said cheerfully knowing full well that Sasuke wouldn’t rant about a revealing picture around people.
“How’d you get the picture?” The Sasuke puppet pleaded.
A smirk came to the pinkette’s face and the Sasuke puppet could quite possibly feel it since she felt a shiver go up Sasuke’s spine, “The boss is that damn good. Be glad she didn’t include your face.” She said and noticed Kakashi’s puppet re-emerged from the crowd with a ruffled look. “Looking good. Got everything?”
The Kakashi puppet nodded and held up a bottle of pills, “This’ll be believable.” He said and quickly started breaking the pills and putting the powder into their canteens except| Naruto’s old canteen, which was abandoned on the ground next to the torched remains of an orange jumpsuit. “Done!” He exclaimed as he tossed the bottle into the trees.
With a supposedly unconscious pinkette being dragged along Kakashi and Sasuke’s puppets raced back to Konoha. To sell the fact that they ran a good distance in far too short a time the puppets collapsed on the floor of the hokage’s office. So far the hokage just watched them in shock. Hiruzen only signed them off on the training mission a few hours earlier so they shouldn’t have completed it yet let alone returned already. They were very lucky he was there since he was about to go home to sleep.
Hiruzen blinked, “Kakashi, what-“
“Naruto … ran off.” Kakashi gasped breathlessly. “Sakura got pissed and … destroyed his ramen.” The puppet said between pants as he stood up. He noticed that Hiruzen was waiting to hear everything. “Since Naruto was silent since she dumped his ramen I let everyone stop and camp for a little bit. I had Naruto go into the crowded outpost town. I thought letting him pick lunch and fill the canteens would let him calm down … instead he drugged us and vanished.”
The hokage’s eyes narrowed, “Why couldn’t you track him down?” He asked, knowing that the drugs probably wore off so the blonde demon vessel could actually think clearly. However, Kakashi was a skilled tracker so why was this a problem?
Kakashi looked at the hokage sheepishly, “He burned his orange clothes. The smoke covered his scent and he apparently tossed Sakura into the crowded town so we had to fish her out. With Sasuke back in the village I can go back to look for him, but … he took all our weapons so I wanted to have a couple people help get him before he hurt himself.”
Sasuke groaned as he finally got up off the floor, “Take the idiot to a hospital or something. This is a fucked up tantrum even for him … besides, the prick deserves a needle for this stupidity.”
“I’ll have a team go after him. It’ll be safer for everyone if you stay back and let someone else handle it. After all, he clearly didn’t trust you enough to confide in you before running.” Hiruzen commented calmly though it was definitely meant to hurt Kakashi.
Kakashi’s puppet winced, “You’re right, hokage-sama.” He said sadly and he obediently left with Sasuke, who was lazily dragging Sakura across the floor by the foot.
Once the door closed Hiruzen sighed, “That brat is more trouble than he’s worth.” He muttered as he rolled up his sleeve.
A black mark that looked like a seal was revealed and he tapped it with a chakra infused fingertip. In an instant a spiraling black portal appeared in front of him. None other than Madara Uchiha came out through the portal and glared at Hiruzen.
“Exactly what is this about?” Madara demanded, not happy about being contacted between their regularly scheduled meetings.
“The vessel for the nine tailed fox has been without his drugs. He is on the run.” Hiruzen explained, very annoyed by the development. “It’s not worth drugging him anymore and Inoichi is too concerned about the demon inside him to even try to go in his mind.”
Madara scoffed, “He’s a coward.”
The hokage nodded, “Yes. He’s lucky he has his uses in controlling others, especially his wife.”
“Indeed.” Madara said with a sick smirk that matched the one on the hokage’s face. “The Akatsuki aren’t as fast so I’ll collect the demon brat assuming you know where he is. When we have him I’ll use the Sharingan on him. He better be easy to find.” He remarked with a warning in his voice. The last thing he wanted was to waste his time hunting a brat.
The hokage stiffened slightly as he heard the hidden threat, “That’ll be a far more effective means of controlling him.” Hiruzen commented and told him exactly what Kakashi told him. “He couldn’t have gone too far. I’m sure Kakashi was just confused by the drugs he was given and that’s why he couldn’t find the brat.” He said though both him and Hiruzen seemed slightly skeptical.
Without another word a portal opened up and Madara disappeared into it leaving the hokage alone or so they thought. Neither Madara or Hiruzen realized that they were being watched by a bird …
