Last Time:
The Shikamaru puppet frowned, “Things are moving. The sand creeper is down and the mist will hopefully be cleared tomorrow.” He reported, but despite the good news they knew they couldn’t risk making a single mistake.

Hinata activated her byakugan behind her mask and scanned the area surrounding the tower. As she examined the location of everything from the Mist ninja guards to the Mizukage himself, she marked it on the map. It took only a minute before she deactivated her bloodline and tapped the sandy ground under her. She allowed the ground to shift and drag her down into a hidden hollow where everyone was waiting. Since everyone here could be trusted no one wore masks.
“I got everything.” Hinata said as she spread out the map. “I definitely saw a dark energy mixed in with the Mizukage’s chakra. It might be a sign that Obito is actually possessing the body.
Shikamaru frowned, “That would make it easy to hide.” He commented as he looked at the map. “There’s more Mist ninjas over here. It’s too far for the rebels to reach so we should handle that with the Sound 5 and have the rebels take out these stragglers. We can’t allow them to all gather or they could gain the advantage before you guys finish the job.”
Tayuya snorted and glanced at Naruto, “You assholes sure you can handle the big prick kage?”
“With lots of lube and stretching I’m sure we’ll manage.” Naruto joked with an impressively deadpan tone that made many snicker, Sasuke blush and Tayuya’s jaw to drop since she didn’t expect the perverted twist to her comment. “Joking aside, it has to be the four of us that fight Yagura. Gaara and I can handle demon energy. Kakashi and Sasuke need to restrain Obito, or kill if necessary, and reverse the control on the Mizukage. We can’t focus on any other opponents.”
Shino nodded, “We’ll make sure no one bothers you guys.” He said just as a bug crawled through the sandy ceiling and landed on the map. The bug scuttled to the insect user’s hand and Shino’s eyebrows rose as his insect told him something. “My insects found a cave network. It’s not big enough for a human to get through, but it extends into the area where the bulk of the Mist ninjas are. My insects might be able to get several explosive tags through the tunnels. It could create a good signal.”
Naruto nodded, “That’d be perfect. I’ll send the message to the rebels. Kakashi, Sasuke, one of you should probably be the one who detonates. It should be easy for everyone else to get to their spots, but our team will have farther to go and we need to be ready before it begins. Plus, Gaara and I will need to be ready in case the Mizukage senses the chakra used in the detonation.”
Kakashi mused over that point, “It could catch him off guard if he senses and attacks a regular ninja only to get jumped by two other vessels. Sasuke might be the best one to do that then. At this point it’s not worth taking even the slightest risk and, even if it’s very slim, Obito recognizing my chakra is a risk. For all I know he might run and we can’t have that.”
“No, we certainly can’t.” Naruto said with a sharp nod and Shino immediately helped Sasuke infuse as many explosive tags with the Uchiha’s chakra as they could. As each tag was completed the insect user handed them over to another team of insects, who carried them away to the agreed spot. “How long will it take for them to place the tags?”
The insect user adjusted his coat collar to let more bigs free, “About an hour. No more.”
Naruto nodded thoughtfully as he unsealed the bird, “Then we’ll use that as a timer. You guys carefully get in position.” He said while quickly scribbling down a note.
With the note to the rebels stored safely in the hollow bird’s belly the sand cover began to fall apart. Before they were completely exposed everyone placed their masks back on. Once the last of the sand floated into a seal on Gaara’s wrist the bird flew off and everyone separated.
Tayuya looked over her shoulder towards the direction Naruto’s team went, “He’s pretty badass.”
“He’s pretty taken too.” Hinata commented casually.
““Oh?” Tayuya smirked with a wink. “Any interest in sharing?”
Hinata hummed thoughtfully as they raced through the trees as silently as possible, “Well I might already be sharing him with a guy … assuming he ever confesses.”
Tayuya’s eyes lit up, “Being with you guys could be seriously fucking fun.” She said before focusing solely on their task.

“The attack will happen in just over an hour.” The Naruto puppet said as he and the clones watched the cameras with Shikaku, Tori and a few insects.
Tori closed her eyes in relief, “Be smart and this should be over soon.” She said feeling anxious about everything and Ino being with them just made more eager for this to end. “Where are you going?” She asked the puppet, who was about to leave the room. That seemed silly when a clone could handle anything else. Why risk having the puppet out longer than necessary?
“I do have to be seen in the village once in a while and clones can only survive so much. The main issue is getting my dose of mind controlling ramen.” The blonde puppet said with a cheeky grin.
Ino stopped playing with a fox to look at the puppet in shock, “Mind controlling? You can’t actually eat that, right? Also … you're a puppet so how would you hold ramen without it pouring out?” She asked curiously while she imagined a Naruto walking down the street with ramen seeping from his neck.
“Bottomless seal.” The blonde puppet said and poked out his tongue to show her the seal. “The boss has a poison seal along with the bottomless seal. Hiruzen expects the boss to ingest a certain amount of mind controlling drugs so we have to put on a show.” The puppet explained noticing that Ino looked impressed.
Shikaku chuckled, “So that’s why I found such enormous donations to Ichiraku! You’re eating them!”
“Yes … clever.” Tori said as if she was thinking of something. “You just came back after pretending to do missions with team 7. Did you not have a source of the drugs or did Hiruzen expect the drugs’ effects to last through the mission?”
“He didn’t give me anything, but it was technically a low rank and short mission. Perhaps he plans to give the boss more somehow or resort to something else.” The clone powered puppet mused.
“Maybe.” Tori murmured in concern, no doubt wondering if Inoichi would eventually get involved. “I have a thought … perhaps team 7 should take another trip immediately. Before you get a chance to eat the ramen. Hear me out.” She said and proceeded to explain her plan.

Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi and Gaara stayed out of sight as they carefully moved around the cliffs. Once they found the side of the tower with the construction they stopped. Gaara unsealed the sand he had hidden away and began directing it to hide in the cracks.
“Can your puppet take a team mission right now? Mine will explain.” Naruto whispered to Kakashi as Gaara prepared. He didn’t want to explain now when everything was about to happen. However, his puppet can later.
Kakashi nodded, “Yes.” He said just as Gaara signaled that his sand was in place.
Naruto looked at Sasuke, “Ready.”
Sasuke immediately made a hand sign. Instantly two things happened at once. First, by only a split sec, was a massive explosion off in the distance. The second was a powerful person launching themselves out of the tower and right at Sasuke. It was the crazed Mizukage.
Before the Mizukage, and the cloak of demonic energy flowing out of him, got too close to Sasuke, Naruto charged. Without any weight seals or training restraints the fox demon vessel was able to smash the Mizukage deep into the ground. What followed was a barrage of attacks between Yagura, Gaara and Naruto.
Sasuke spotted Kakashi moving slightly when Naruto was hit in the stomach by the Mizukage’s staff and saw blood dripping out from behind the mask, “Trust him. These two need to subdue the demon chakra before we can safely get close.”
“I … I know.” Kakashi muttered feeling frustrated at having to wait to help. For now it’s something that has to be done. At least, he felt more useful knowing that his puppet was being more productive …

Hiruzen blinked, “Your team only just got back? Are you sure you wish to have another mission?”
“We’re definitely ready!” The Naruto puppet exclaimed cheerfully even though the Sakura puppet glared at him.
The Kakashi puppet leaned over and eye smiled, “It’s less a mission and more a shopping trip. I wanted to try and get a look at that new book series.” He whispered in the hokage’s ear. With a little tap on his perverted book he easily hinted on what his motives were. “While I’m looking around these guys will be practicing their guarding in case we need to guard our next client. It should clear things up.”
Hiruzen chuckled, “I see. So this will be a training trip. Very well. I’ll approve it. Tell me how well it goes!” He said, clearly wanting details on the book series that piqued Kakashi’s interest. It was also quite amusing that Kakashi was using his genin to cut through crowds under the guise of bodyguard duties. “Oh! Naruto, did you see Ayame and Teuchi?” He asked casually as he quickly wrote out the paperwork for the training trip and had Kakashi sign.
“Yep! They actually gave me a few ramen bowls to go for me since this mission happened so fast.” Naruto’s puppet said while showing off the storage scroll.
The Sasuke puppet snorted, “Idiot. You should’ve brought some decent supplies and not that crap.”
“It’s not crap!” Naruto’s puppet yelled and glared at the Uchiha.
“Shut up both of you!” The pink haired puppet snapped, surprising Sasuke, Naruto and Hiruzen.
Kakashi sighed and leaned over to the hokage’s ear again, “She is realizing that being on the same team as your crush isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.” He said to explain why the pinkette was especially cranky today.
“I see.” The hokage chuckled sheepishly. “Have fun, team 7!” He exclaimed, just hoping to get them to leave.
“Yes, hokage-sama!” They all said right before leaving the office and kept casually walking until they were out of the village.
The Sakura puppet looked at Naruto, “Why did I have to act grouchy to everyone?” She asked the blonde puppet curiously.
“So it doesn’t seem odd when you get pissed off and empty this.” Naruto’s puppet said as he handed Sakura the box filled with ramen takeout. “Now Tori suggested that this might be a good way to start the next step.” The puppet commented as he ducked a flying fishcake from one of the ramen bowls Sakura chucked onto the road. As the puppet team 7 continued to their destination, Naruto’s puppet explained.
“Tori would have a better idea on how those bastards will react so it’s our best plan. I take it my brother is going to help or is he separated from Orochimaru already?” Sasuke asked as they raced through the trees towards a mountain village a couple days away. Of course, at their speed and with the benefits of being puppets that don’t need breaks they’ll be able to get to their destination much faster.
The blonde puppet frowned, “The boss’s clone sent a bird already so we’ll find out where everyone is soon.”

“I can only hope that this works.” Tori said, but suddenly stiffened. “Ino, you need to head back home. He’ll be back soon.”
Ino frowned, “He’s not usually one for family meals.” She said pointedly, despite immediately getting some last fox cuddles right before cleaning off any furry evidence.
Tori scoffed, “Very true, but he suggested we make cookies so he’ll want them fresh. I doubt he’ll stay long.” She said and quickly hugged Ino.
Ino reluctantly left and got back home just in time. To really sell the illusion the Tori puppet hugged her. Of course, she did just love hugging her daughter, but the hug had the added bonus of transferring the flour on her apron to Ino. Now they both looked like they were baking all day.
“I’m back!” Inoichi exclaimed happily as he walked into the kitchen. He barely acknowledged the cheerful hello from the two women as he immediately started eating cookies. “I ran into Shikamaru and Shikaku earlier … you’re not still mad about the mud incident, right?” He asked after he stopped gorging long enough to notice that the cookies were shaped like knives, skulls, hands flipping the middle finger and tombstones.
“Maybe a little …” Ino said with a huff, but once Inoichi went back to eating cookies she smirked at her mother’s puppet. Clearly the cookies had a message of their own …
