Chapter 3: Kindle
Later that day when Sasori and Deidara returned from their 'errand, Deidara went over to Naruto. Of. course, he would want to spend some time with his little brother after all of the time they have been seperated. The younger ookami agreed with the other's plan. They went to the balcony outside of the room Deidara shares with his mate. Although Sasori would be there in the room with Sasuke while the two blondes played with explosive clay outside.
"Do you think he's right for you?" Asked the kitsune, his tail swishing back and forth absently while he sat on his stool, tinkering with one of his puppets to perfect its mechanism to use in battle.
The Uchiha shrugged, "i think so. Nii-san wouldn't allow me to stay with him if he didn't think he'd be right for me. You know how itachi is."
"True," murmured Sasori in agreement, hoping Deidara would be ok although he didn't show the worry on the outside of his facial expression, but it remained in the back of his head.
"I think your puppy will be fine with him," snickered Sasuke at picking up how Sasori is feeling with his mate being around someone else even though they are brothers. "They act kind of like Itachi and I, but more...energetic."
"Hmmm, I suppose," murmured Sasori, finishing up his work to then bring out a brush to straighten the fur on his tails, annoyed that he'd have to ask Deidara later to help with his ears.
Meanwhile, outside on the balcony, Deidara had been showing Naruto his craft. The younger blonde watched in amazement at how Deidra is able to make such intricate or simple designs with his clay. By this reaction, Deidara felt rather pleased with himself. Knowing that the kitsune always thought his art is superior towards his made him wonder if Naruto liked his type better. It did go off with a bang. Plus, he did seem interested in learning about how to do it.
"So, how about tomorrow I show you how to do it, un?" Suggested Deidara.
"That would be great," grinned Naruto, ears perked. "You're so good at this. I would love to learn how to do it to."
Deidara chuckled lightly, putting his pouch of clay back into the bag on his belt, "Good, that can easily be arranged. Now, I have a question for you, hmph."
"What is it?" Asked Naruto, turning his attention towards his brother instead of looking out at the sky.
"Do you like Sasuke? Uchiha scum aren't really...how do I put it, un? Ah, yes, pompous," explained Deidara. "I'm not saying this to deter you or anything. I'm just looking out for you, hmph."
"Thanks," he softened, knowing that Deidara is just trying to make sure he doesn't become hurt again by other people. "I'll keep that in mind. I'll be careful, Dei."
"Good," smirked Deidara, grabbing his hand to take him inside. "The other leaders should be here by now. Uchiha, you're coming with us."
"And I?" Prompted Sasori, putting his brush down for now.
"Yep, un," shrugged Deidara, the other two following them as they headed into a different room than before.
This room has the appearance of an office. There are piles of paperwork strewn on the desk. There could be seen two males at the wide station. One appears to look like an older Itachi, but has obvious differences. The other male looked similar to Nagato, but his hair is a darker shade of red. The two have pale skin, wearing the usual attire for the Akatsuki. When hearing others enter, the two turned around on their swivel chairs to face them. Pain and Madara have different colored eyes. Pain has the same as Nagato's, but they are a paler shade while Madara's are the usual onyx hue of the Uchiha clan that can switch to ruby coals in an instant.
"So, this is the new addition?" Asked the Elder Uchiha, examining Naruto closely to get a sense of him, noticing that he's a neko like Sasuke and Itachi.
"Apparently it is," affirmed Pain who is Madara's mate, being the same species as his brother, Nagato.
"Well, I see Sasuke has good taste," mused the obsidian haired male, extending a hand towards him. "It's nice to finally meet you, Naruto."
"Um, who are you?" Asked the ookami, eyeing the offered hand cautiously.
"Madara Uchiha and this is my mate, Pain," introduced the Uchiha, not offended by the blonde's hesitation. "I've heard quite a bit about you."
"How?" Blurted out Naruto, reluctantly shaking the man's hand until he is allowed to release it.
"Deidara of course," smirked Madara. "But I have my resources..."
"Meaning we have kept tabs on you," explained Pain, rolling his eyes at his mate's aloofness about it. "We heard about the separation between you and Deidara. We had kept tabs to ensure you weren't harmed, but we all knew that one day you'd join us here."
Naruto nodded, uncertain if he could really call this home. He's only been here for nearly a day. Yet, everyone here has treated him as if he's lived here all of his life. Plus, the people here seem to make him feel comfortable like no one else ever has. These aspects along with a few more are what Naruto will need to consider in order to make a final decision of whether or not he could call this home. Reuniting with Deidara has been the best thing in his life so far. If the leaders gave him permission to stay here then he would gladly accept.
"Is he allowed to stay?" Piped up Sasuke, having remained silent all throughout this conversation.
"Yes," assured Madara, treating Sasuke as if he were his own son. "He's yours to claim."
The younger neko smirked, "Hn, good to know."
"You're free to b dismissed. All we wanted was to meet him to assess whether or not he's worthy to stay. From both of our opinions he can join our family," said Pain, having sensed Naruto inside out to ascertain a detailed examination in his mind to determine his precise decision on the matter.
Naruto bowed to them both, grateful for being a part of a better pack for once that accepted him that hopefully wouldn't toss him aside like the previous one, "Thank you both for allowing me to stay and be a part of this den."
Madara chuckled lightly, placing a pale hand on Naruto's head, ruffling his hair affectionately, showing a rare show of humanity, "Hn, don't worry about it. You two have fun."
Blushing, Naruto rose to straighten his stance before leaving the room with Sasuke in tow with Sasori and Deidara following suit. Being left to their own devices meant anything could happen. Sasori held a glint of mischief in his hazel orbs, grabbing Deidara's arm to drag him off into a different section of the house. Of course, it isn't an easy feat to do this. Deidara did struggle even though he had a good idea why Sasori is doing this. Sharing a look with Naruto, he winked. Hopefully those two wouldn't become too wild.
Turning his sole attention towards Naruto, he pinned him against the wall. Onyx met sapphire in a silent stare. Apprehension crept up Naruto's spine with the intent gaze given to him. Averting his eyes from Sasuke, he could feel the Neko's warm body pressed up against his. It took all of his self-control that he wielded at his disposal to keep him from acting on his urges. The ookami remained uncertain of what Sasuke wanted from him or where this would lead towards. To him, it seemed like Sasuke knew what he's doing while Naruto felt awkward about all of this.
"Naruto," purred Sasuke, his cool breath washed over Naruto, sending a shiver or two to cascade down his spine.
"Y-Yes?" Splittered Naruto, his cheeks flushed.
"Heh heh, how about we kindle some fire between us? I can show you around later... But before then...pleasure before business."
A/N: Yays! Done with chappie three! Hopefully you all enjoyed it. Next chappie will be out shortly. I plan to post what I already had written for this. Then hopefully with renewed vigor I'll be able to continue this.
