Birthdays, Hot Springs, and a Pale Moon

Chapter 3
Naruto stopped in his track and put the keys back in his pocket. Another huge crash of thunder roared in the night sky, shaking the house and made Naruto shiver all over. Sasuke noticed the quivering blonde and decided to take advantage of the situation. He placed his hands around Naruto’s waist and started to whisper to him.

“Naruto calm down its ok, there’s nothing to be afraid of.”

Kakashi sighed envying the young couple. He knew for a fact that Iruka actually like thunder storms, meaning he would never have a chance to comfort Iruka like that. He then looked away, before hurrying out of the room, telling everyone he’d be right back. Iruka sensed that Kakashi was upset so he decided to tag along, and see what was bothering his husband.

Kakashi walked over to the basement and grabbed the flashlight hanging on a hook next to the door. Hearing his husband walk up behind him, Kakashi though wickedly, /Hmm…I wonder if I should try and catch my little Ruka in my trap?/ Kakashi opened the door and went down the stairs. Iruka was close behind, while he had no problems with thunder, he was still afraid of the dark, at least in the basement. Reaching the basement floor Iruka, stuck close to Kakashi.

“Let's find the generator, and get it running, I hate it down here,” said a fearful Iruka. Kakashi heard the fear in his lover’s voice and smiled to himself.

“Alright Iruka, now where did we put it.” Kakashi knew where it was but he was going to have his fun with Iruka first.

Upstairs, Naruto was still in Sasuke’s arms, he felt wonderfully protected. Sasuke then said still at a whisper, “Naruto why don’t we stay the night? After all it sounds like a really bad storm outside.” The strong arms had already brought a new calm to the excitable blonde, and with the small request he asked, Naruto couldn’t help but answer yes.

In the basement Kakashi was attempting to ease Iruka into the same calm that Naruto had found with Sasuke. He looked all over the basement and seemed to make no progress. Looking around, he saw that Iruka was on the edge of going mad in the dark. Kakashi was waiting for this moment so he walked over to Iruka and asked what the matter was. A deep red blush stretched across the scar that set on the bridge of his nose.

“It’ssss nothing Kakashi really,” Iruka tried getting out but was too nervous to say it clearly. Kakashi took this as his invitation and walked over to Iruka who was holding the flashlight now.
He was a step away when he reached to touch Iruka. Seconds later, they heard a voice from upstairs yelling about staying the night. Kakashi had lost his chance to comfort Iruka, so he decided to just turn on the generator. He walked to the closet in the back of the basement where the generator sat waiting to be used. Kakashi turned the start key, waiting as the machine sputtered a little then turned over and the house flooded with light again.

Sasuke had now fulfilled his part of his deal with Iruka, but now had to face what he wanted more; the tender kiss and feel of Naruto’s body, or getting to know more about Naruto’s past. Sasuke thought of how good it would feel to have to blonde laying down in the bed caressing, kissing, licking, and feeling every part of him. Naruto had soon gained a little control of himself when he noticed that Sasuke seemed to be in thought. Naruto started to pull away when Sasuke snapped back to reality. Kakashi and Iruka came up from the basement minutes later.

After talking it over, Kakashi and Iruka decided it was probably best for them to stay the night. As Naruto and Sasuke washed up, Naruto tried to get Sasuke to follow him to bed, but Sasuke had other plans. He walked over to Iruka and Kakashi’s bedroom and poked his head in. To his surprise, Kakashi was laying on his side holding Iruka. Iruka saw Sasuke and mouthed out to meet in an hour in the guest bedroom down stairs. Sasuke nodded his head in agreement and walked back towards Naruto’s room. When he got the doorway, he saw Naruto resting on the bed, a soft smile on his face. Sasuke thought Naruto looked like an innocent child when he was sleeping. He didn’t want to disturb the resting boy, but he climbed into the bed anyway. He kissed Naruto’s cheek and spooned up behind him, starting to fall asleep like everyone else.

It seemed like no time had passed when Sasuke felt a hand shake him. The hands felt very familiar and before Sasuke could realize who it was he had already landed a kiss on Iruka’s cheek. Sasuke had completely woken as he opened his eyes and saw Iruka’s red face. He got out of bed as quietly as he could and apologized to Iruka. Iruka shrugged him off as he ushered Sasuke out of the bedroom. Iruka looked at Sasuke and swore him to secrecy about Naruto’s past.

-Flashback-
A young blonde man, resembling Naruto, was pacing back and forth in front of two large wooden doors. As he passed, he thought if he had gathered all the information on the matter at hand. He then took a deep breath and put on a stern face as he pushed the doors open. As he was walking, he came upon a large wooden table with nine chairs. He walked to the head of the table and sat down. The others followed his example and took a sat while looking at the young man.

“Alright Minato, why did you call us here? Many of us have busy schedules so make this quick,” one of the older gentlemen said, a few bandages decorating his face. Minato looked over at the man and before he could say anything the eldest man of the eight spoke out.

“Danzo, you of all people should know that Minato would not bring us here just out of fancy. Whatever the reason it must be of grave importance especially since he has called us out of a normal work day.”

“Thank you Sarutobi-sensei, the reason why I called you all here is due to sudden drops in sales. For the past two years sales have dropped little by little, but now they’re falling off the charts. If we don’t fix this we will soon all be out of a job,” Minato stated firmly, staring each member of the board. A younger woman got upset by his word and challenged him.

“Isn’t it your job to make sure that doesn’t happen Minato,” the busty woman said biting back the sardonicism in her voice. Minato straightened his face and ignored the woman.
“It doesn’t matter how good a job I did when our blueprint designs were being made and sold to the rival companies as the testing was complete and all the kinks had been worked out,” Minato retorted. Taking a deep breath, he then looked at everyone and told them he had a general idea who the person might be, but he couldn’t say who. The men and women at the table began looking around the room trying to figure out who it may have been, but Minato dismissed them before he decide to interrogate all of them. As each board member went back to their office, Danzo pulled out his cell phone and made a call.

On the sandy beaches of the Water Country, a man was laid out in the sun just enjoying his time off from work when his phone began to ring. He looked down at the screen to catch who it was on the caller id. He grabbed the phone and flipped it open.

“This better be good, I’m on vacation,” the man said in a husky voice. Danzo smiled on the other end of the line and replied,

“Not anymore, Minato Namikaze has figured out that someone’s selling off the designs from some of the newest projects. I need you to take care of him before he can prove that I’m the one selling them.” Zabuza pulled his cell phone from his ear and looked at it.

“Well sounds like a personal problem to me. I did all the jobs you said I had to do before I went vacation.”

“Zabuza if you don’t the police may interrogate me. Due to the fact that I’m getting older I may slip and accidentally tell them about all of the jobs you have done for me in the past.” Danzo said, clear that his intention was to blackmail Zabuza if he didn’t do as he was instructed. Zabuza sighed and told him he would be in Konoha by nightfall. With that settled Danzo hung up and smiled thinking that no one would interfere with him now.

One week had passed since Zabuza had come into town, and Minato was still alive. But not for long. Minato went to pick his family up from his parent’s house to celebrate his son’s birthday. The four year old was playing with a new toy, when the impossible happened. A truck came from out of nowhere and had lost control, heading straight for the family’s car. Minato tried to turn the steering wheel, but something had locked to tires in place. With no response from the tires, he tried the brakes, but the line had been cut, there was no response there either. The driver of the truck soon gained some control and was able to turn his truck, but the cargo on the tray broke free and flew towards the family.

That was the day Naruto would never forget. Hearing the terrified scream of his mother as a barrel smashed through the windshield, crushing her chest and pinning her to her seat. A second barrel came seconds later, flying by so quickly it took his father’s head right off his shoulders.

It took only ten minutes for the police to get to the scene; the deaths of Naruto’s parents were ruled as an accident. No one close to Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki believed that their deaths were accidental and launched a large investigation to find out what happened. Meanwhile, Naruto was put into the care of Iruka Umino, Naruto’s private instructor, and Minato’s secretary. It took a few years, but Zabuza was finally caught. When given his one phone call, he called his employer for that mission. Danzo ignored the call and then tossed the phone into the garbage. Now knowing that Danzo wasn’t going to get him out, Zabuza made a deal with the police, if they lightened his sentence, he would give them the names of all of his employers from the past eight years and who it was he was assigned to murder.

The police agreed to Zabuza’s terms and without a moment’s hesitation he told them that it was Danzo who hired him to kill Minato. With that Danzo was taken from the Yellow Flash Corporation and placed under arrest.
-End Flashback-

Sasuke had gotten a lot more than what he bargained for. He finally understood that the reason Naruto hated his birthday, was that was the day he lost his parents. Sasuke didn’t know what to say as Iruka held his head down remembering his former employer. Sasuke held his onto his emotions, but allowed himself to feel empathy for his lover. He then decided to give Naruto a break and let him have the greatest birthday he had ever had.

The next morning, Sasuke called down to the school and found out that classes had been cancelled. Once he came downstairs, Sasuke looked at Naruto and then saw the image of a younger version of Naruto holding a teddy bear crying as he asked where his mother and father were. He shook the image out of his mind and sat down.

“So where were you last night, Iruka?” Kakashi asked not looking over the paper. Iruka jumped a little and replied,

“Me and Sasuke-kun had a little chat. That’s all.” Naruto’s interest was piqued. What would Sasuke and his overprotective father been talking about? Glancing over at Sasuke he received a death glare. He dropped the topic before he had even had a chance to ask about it.
