Sakura was waiting on the bed fully dressed when Kakashi came out. Neither Hisa or Ari had arrived to explain to her what was going on so she decided to wait and ask Kakashi. However, when he exited the bathroom he didn't look the least bit willing to answer any questions so she swallowed them and waited.
“Have you eaten?” Sakura shook her head. That was also part of her morning ritual which had been disrupted by his untimely arrival. “There should be a tray outside the door. Get it, and bring it in.”
Sakura rose to her feet willingly enough. She was starting to feel bits of hunger eating at her. Being hungry was never pleasant as she had recently found out. Sakura shook off such thoughts since they only brought anger with them and did as Kakashi told her.
When she entered the room once more he was lounging on her bed waiting for her to come closer. It irritated her to see him lying on her bed, but she didn't think it was wise to say anything about it. However, when they returned to the village she would have a list of things to complain about. Although, he'd probably disappear before she got the chance to voice even one.
Sakura looked down.
“Eat.” Kakashi removed the lids covering the food and the delicious aromas drifted up to her nose. She grabbed a chair from the siting area and pulled it over and began to eat not even realizing how hungry she really was.
They ate in silence which was fine for Sakura since she couldn't stop thinking about the previous night. Why had Kakashi come back? Was it because he knew she would screw up even before she did? The thought didn't sit well with her.
When she lagged off her in eating Kakashi rose to his feet. “Come, we're going out.”
“Out?” Sakura repeated dumbly.
“Yes, out.”
Sakura followed behind Kakashi mutely noting that no one was really up and about yet. It was still early for that type of thing. Still, she expected to see the Madam at the very least to give her some sort of threatening look before she left the premises. However, the woman was nowhere to be found.
They didn't really leave the property. Instead, Kakashi lead her close to a lake that she hadn't even realized was there. In all honesty she had slowly been forgetting what it was like to bathe in the sunlight and let its warmth kiss her skin.
Slowly Sakura felt happiness begin to filter into her. A smile graced her lips and she found herself lightly skipping as she followed behind Kakashi. After a while he finally stopped and turned and looked at her.
She continued to smile and gazed about until she realized she was being stared at. “Is anything wrong?” She asked curiously.
“It's nothing. I just haven't seen you smile in a while.” Sakura's smile almost slipped. There hadn't been anything to smile about. The current moments were different though.
Kakashi lowered himself to the ground, leaned his back against a nearby tree, and beckoned her to come closer. She did so willingly enough putting a respectable amount of space between them, but Kakashi grabbed her and hauled her into his lap her back resting against his chest. Sakura dully noted that he had been man handling her since she had awakened that morning. She started to pull away, but she was still a bit tired from her adventures the previous night.
“We need to talk.” Kakashi's lips against her ear. Sakura said nothing only closed her eyes, but she did shiver a bit when Kakashi's teeth grazed her ear. “It wasn't easy to get you out of that house so that we could talk. Still, say nothing and just listen.” That wouldn't be a problem since she was essentially drifting off to sleep anyway. “The paper you found with the address—I think it was planted there for us to find.”
Sakura was suddenly wide awake. All that effort to prove herself for nothing? She tried to move but Kakashi's arms tightened around her. “Listen.” He hissed softly. “I'm having Pakkun check them out now to be certain, but the Madam implied last night that nothing of importance was in her office. You'll have to search the entire house. I'll help you, and Sakura—I do trust you. I know that I may have higher expectations of Naruto and Sasuke and maybe that's wrong, but you've never proved that you wanted anyone to have those type of expectations of you. You've always been someone we protect.” Kakashi lips moved to her neck nibbling on her stiff shoulders. There was no doubt in Kakashi's mind that she was beyond angry, but that didn't stop him from essentially trying to seduce her out of it.
“Look at me, Sakura.”
Sakura slowly turned her head and looked over her shoulder at him. There wasn't the least bit of passion or desire in her eyes. She looked like she wanted to be anywhere but sitting in his lap, being held in his arms. Kakashi leaned down and let his lips ghost over hers.
“Kiss me, Sakura.” He whispered, but he still received no response so he lightly kissed her again. “Where's the little minx that kissed me last night to get what she wanted?” Something moved in her eyes then. Kakashi pulled back then and allowed her to turn around.“I only did that to--”“I know why you did it. You were right to do it.”
“One day,” Sakura said softly but her words were still edged in steel. “I'll be a power to reckon with. You won't take me lightly then.”
Kakashi was suddenly filled with foreboding. Somehow, he knew, someday she was going to have him in the palm of her hands and there would be absolutely nothing he could do about it. It wasn't a thought that he was comfortable with. He was about to set her to the side and leave, but she turned around in his lap and a gave him the kiss that he had been trying to steal.
