----------Midmorning the Next Day----------
Looking like a zombie - which he did every morning - Kakashi shuffled out of the bedroom towards the kitchen. Only to stop, turn around, and look into the living room. There were... two bodies on the futon? Brow furrowing in confusion he shuffled over, and then smiled at what he saw - Sasuke being used as a teddy bear by Naruto. Not able to pass this up Kakashi quietly went back to the bedroom in search of a camera.
Iruka had been lounging in bed enjoying a lazy morning when Kakashi came back a little too early. “Is something wrong?” he asked awake completely in an instant.
“Go to the living room,” Kakashi chuckled as he searched. “Found it!” Grinning he went back to where the boys were sleeping and took a couple pictures, of course not waking Naruto up in the process. Or Sasuke, since he was dead at the moment.
Iruka came out in just his boxers and looked down at the two of them. “They make a handsome pair don't they? Like night and day...” he murmured and wrapped his arms around one of Kakashi's arms.
“Yeah.” Still smiling Kakashi turned his head to kiss Iruka's nose. “Food. We can let Naruto sleep a bit more. Oh, and don't open any of the curtains in here. Remember Sasuke and sunlight don't get along very well.”
“I won't,” he agreed as they headed into the kitchen together. They'd let Naruto sleep in as late as he wanted today. It just seemed... like the courteous thing to do.
Sometime after lunch Kakashi decided it was time to wake Naruto up and feed him. He knelt next to his students and gently took hold of Naruto's shoulder. “Naruto... Oi, Naruto. Time to get up.”
Making sleepy noises Naruto scrunched his face in protest and cuddled up closer to Sasuke.
“Iruka's making you ramen,” Kakashi bribed. It worked, of course. A slight breeze marked Naruto's dash to the kitchen and Kakashi stood up to follow him with a chuckle.
“Ramen?!” Naruto demanded eagerly of Iruka, now fully awake at the prospect of having his favorite food.
Iruka chuckled and set the bowl down in front of him. “So, I see Sasuke stayed here last night.... Do you know if he has to feed every night?” Iruka asked conversationally while moving about the kitchen cleaning. He was mostly unpacked now but he had to do some rearranging since Kakashi would bring his belongings to Iruka's - to their - apartment.
“No idea,” Naruto said around a mouthful. He cheered mentally when his stomach - finally - didn't protest at all to having solid food in it. “How did you know he was here?”
“It's two in the afternoon and it's kind of hard to miss the fact that there was a second body on the futon,” Kakashi teased. “That and Iruka chewed him out last night.”
“Chewed him out...?” Naruto looked to Iruka for an explanation.
“Just a little... older-brotherly warning...” Iruka shrugged a little and continued on about his business his back still to them.
“You did what?!” Naruto squeaked, surprised that Iruka wasn't dead. He scowled at Kakashi, who was laughing at him.
“It wasn't anything Naruto... Don't worry about it,” he said and then turned to look at the boy and his own lover. “I just told him to treat you well or he would have to answer to me. That's it.” Iruka smiled. “It's what older brothers do.”
“Though I don't think he was listening very much since he seemed more focused on trying to pull my mask down,” Kakashi teased them.
Naruto razzed him and turned back to Iruka. “Arigato, Iruka-sensei,” he said honestly, very glad to have any sort of family at all. He'd thought of Iruka as a big brother for years and only continued to call him "sensei" out of affectionate respect.
“Hai, hai... Naruto,” he murmured and then turned back to his dishes with a soft smile. “So... when do you plan on starting to train again?” he asked conversationally, always curious to hear what Naruto's plans were.
“As soon as possible,” Naruto said around a mouthful. “Sasuke's already agreed to be my sparring partner. More please!”
Iruka smirked and made Naruto another bowl of ramen while saying, “So, Sasuke's already agreed to be your sparring partner.... that's great. What about Sakura?” he asked as an afterthought and looked to Kakashi. “Sasuke and Sakura still both belong to that man right there,” he pointed a stir spoon at Kakashi as he brought the cup of ramen to Naruto. “Until they pass the Chuunin Exam.”
“She said she'd spar with me too, but I think she's gonna be a little more focused on getting Lee-san to stop acting so weird around her,” Naruto said with a mischievous smile before digging in again.
“Well finally,” Kakashi laughed. “I've been wondering when she'd finally warm up to him. ...Ah damn, that means I have to put up with her being all lovey-dovey again.”
Naruto swallowed and shot back, “And that's different from us putting up with you how...?” He just grinned and ducked when Kakashi tried to cuff him.
“Brat,” the Jounin grumbled affectionately.
“Not to mention you'll have to put up with Gai-san more now, koi.... If his ‘most prized student’ Lee is going to be around the lovely Sakura.” Iruka intoned in his best impression of Gai then laughed a little as he finished, “Then he's bound to be showing up quite a bit.”
Kakashi's head hit the table. “Double damn...” he groaned. Just what he needed, more Gai. It was his turn to scowl at Naruto, who was dying of laugher at his predicament.
Iruka walked over to stand beside Kakashi and leaned over him where he slumped on the table. “It'll be ok, Kakashi... Gai-san looks up to you. You're his goal. His idol. You should probably feel honored.” But behind his voice was strictly contained laughter. He actually felt pretty bad for Kakashi having to put up with Gai's antics all the time. Still he rested a hand on Kakashi's shoulder and squeezed.
“I think I'll pass on the honor...” Kakashi grumbled. “Honor my ass. He's a pest and the only reason I haven't put him out of his misery is because he's a decent ninja.”
“No, you haven't done it yet 'cause you're too lazy to make the effort,” Naruto corrected teasingly as he stood up. “Thanks for the ramen, Iruka-sensei. I'm gonna see if I can find Sakura-chan. She has something of mine.” His grin was pure mischief. “I'll make sure to be back before Sauske wakes up.”
Iruka nodded and watched Naruto leave the kitchen then looked back to Kakashi. “If Gai-san ever becomes too much for you...” Iruka's fingers trailed along the edge of Kakashi's mask along the skin over his cheekbone until he cupped Kakashi's cheek. “You can always come and hide in my classroom... I can kick him out on the grounds of disrupting class.... so long as you behave yourself, which you've never had a problem doing before.” He smiled. It was the best he could offer but at least it was something.
That definitely lightened Kakashi's mood, which was obvious by the way he sat back up and pulled Iruka into his lap. “Oh, I've had problems...” he purred. “You have no idea how hard it is to behave around you...” Proving his point Kakashi's hands gravitated to Iruka's rear and slipped into his pants.
Iruka's cheeks pinked slightly, but he set the spoon down on the table and wrapped one arm around Kakashi's neck leaning forward while his other hand came up to tug down Kakashi's mask. Rubbing the tips of their noses together he smiled a little and murmured in a low, soft voice, “There's always the janitor's closet....” He felt a little odd but enjoyed the way saying it made his stomach tingle and his nerves zing for his boldness.
“There is... especially at lunch time, ne?” Kakashi murmured back with a wicked grin, leering playfully. He loved it when Iruka suggested naughty things, almost as much as how adorable he was when he blushed. His grin softened to a blissful smile and he hugged the Chuunin tightly, burying his face in Iruka's neck. “I love you, Iruka...” he whispered.
Chuckling faintly Iruka wrapped his other arm around Kakashi and hugged him back. “I love you, too, Kakashi...”
---------Sunset---------
Naruto sat on Iruka's couch snickering evilly at the pictures he'd sent to be developed the next day. Yep, definite blackmail material. He glanced at Sasuke and fox-grinned.
Sasuke's breathing was slowly picking up, his chest gradually began to rise and fall visibly. It wasn't long after that that he opened his eyes and blinked in a rather disoriented fashion at the ceiling. It was Naruto's scent, not too far away and to his right, that brought him to himself completely and re-oriented him with all that had happened. He stretched suddenly body arching off the futon as stiff muscles demanded blood flow and exercise after being quite literally dead. He dropped back to the mattress and rubbed at his eyes sleepily before turning his head to look at Naruto.
“Welcome back,” Naruto grinned. “So, you can wake up without trying to kill people.”
“Only in the evening...” he murmured his voice lazy and rough with Rest. A bedroom voice, if ever there was one and the sleepy smile on his relaxed and open face wasn't making it hard to look at it that way.
Naruto rolled his eyes, shifting a bit as Sasuke's smile and voice sent pleasant shivers through him. Doing his best to ignore the slight blush on his cheeks he picked out the most incriminating picture of the sleeping vampire and held it front of his face. “Lookit what I got,” he sing-songed.
Sasuke's eyes slitted as he focused on the picture and then one corner of his mouth turned down. “Usurukontachi...” he grumbled and rolled over putting his back to Naruto.
Naruto just chuckled and settled more comfortably on the couch. “So, when do you wanna leave on 'Mission: Kick Itachi-bastard's ass'?”
Sasuke rolled over from the middle up twisting to look at Naruto. “After we find out if you're going or not...”
“But... you said I could go!” Naruto protested, forgetting Sasuke’s condition since he'd been half-asleep for most of their conversation the night before.
“I said you could go... but only if Tsunade-Hokage-sama agreed that you could,” he reminded him. “I'm not telling you anything more until then...” he stated firmly.
Pouting Naruto razzed him. “Fine, then let's go see her now so we can leave. And I am going,” he said stubbornly.
Sasuke stood then rolling onto his feet easily and headed for the door since he'd telekinetically dropped his sandals by it at some point last night. “We'll see...” was all he said and then he slipped the sandals on and waited for Naruto.
Naruto followed on his heels and locked the door behind them. Kakashi and Iruka had left to go to a restaurant to celebrate Kakashi's moving in, leaving keys with Naruto for when he finally left. He led the way to the Tower and for once knocked on the door of Tsunade's office. He did NOT want a repeat of yesterday.
“Come in!” came the shout from inside. Tsunade was sitting behind her desk as usual and Jiraiya was standing a discreet distance behind her at the window looking out.
Sasuke pushed into the room and then picked a spot on the wall that he could lean on comfortably to wait and see how things would turn out.
“Thank God,” Naruto muttered, relieved to see that the two Sannin weren't doing anything this time.
Jiraiya shot him a glare and asked, “What do you two brats want?”
Naruto glared back for a second before getting serious. “We want permission to hunt down Itachi and deal with him.”
“We?” Tsunade asked as she raised a brow and looked at Sasuke. When he only stared back at her expressionlessly she looked to Naruto. “What do you mean ‘we’?”
“Me and Sasuke. What's the matter, Tsunade-baba?” Naruto taunted with a grin. “Brain doesn't understand Japanese anymore?”
Jiraiya snorted and covered his mouth with a hand to smother his snickers.
Her expression darkened a notch. “You're not going anywhere... not yet. You've been put on medical leave,” she growled slightly as she spoke.
“I'm going and you're going to let me,” Naruto growled back. “I'm fine. I've healed completely and I have my chakra back.”
Sensing the oncoming storm Jiraiya decided to stay quiet and just watch.
Tsunade's eyes narrowed further. “You may think you're well enough to travel, but you are not. You're not even half of what you were before Itachi kidnapped you. You're not going.”
Sasuke kept quiet speaking neither for nor against Naruto's demand. He would enjoy having Naruto completely to himself for who knew how long, but Tsunade was the Healer and she would do what was best for Naruto indefinitely.
“So, I'll train while we look!” Naruto argued, meeting her glare for glare with fox-eyes. “And if I use Kyuubi while I fight I'll be just fine. No one's been able to beat me yet when I use him.”
“You need to NOT use the demon while you're this weak, kuso gaki!!” she glared back in her own way. She cast a glance at Sasuke and Jiraiya and then looked back at Naruto “Get out of the office you little pain... I need to speak with your betters,” she ordered him.
At that Naruto gave her the finger and his scowl deepened. “M'not moving. And since WHEN is Sasuke one of my betters?!?!”
“Since you got kidnapped by Itachi and he didn't...” she snapped. Then opted to ignore him and turned to Jiraiya and Sasuke. “What do you two think.... the brat's too weak isn't he?”
Sasuke shook his head. “I won't let anything happen to him... and, if anything, having him along with me will build his strength up faster. You know the two of us fight all the time. He'll get more exercise that way.... and he's going to try and go whether we tell him no or not... it's less hassle to just let him go,” he glanced at the pervert beside him. So much for not helping Naruto out.
“Just let him go, Tsunade, and save yourself the headache,” Jiraiya advised. He grinned and added, “And just think, you won't have to put the brat for who knows how long.” He just grinned wider when Naruto gave him the finger too.
“Kuso Ero-sennin,” Naruto growled.
She sighed and leaned back in her chair. “Fine.... you can go, but don't come home complaining if you end up useless or even more damaged than you already are,” she warned him and then stood. “When are you leaving?”
Sasuke cut in before Naruto could protest the Hokage's words and answered, “As soon as Naruto is adjusted to my sleep schedule since we'll be moving at night entirely.” And he pushed off the wall looking to Naruto. “So, you had better enjoy tonight as a last night of sleep... unless you want to start adjusting immediately?”
Naruto shot Tsunade one last poisonous glare before turning to Sasuke. “I can start tonight. I wanna head out as soon as possible.”
“Then go get started,” Jiraiya said and began pushing the boys out of the office; he didn't like dealing with a pissy Naruto any longer than he had to. Or a pissy Tsunade. Especially a pissy Tsunade. “Ja na. Let us know when you're leaving. Bai.” He shut the door after them and smirked at Tsunade.
Tsunade smiled back. That had been fun regardless of Naruto's bad attitude. “Well... that's two problems that will be gone for a while... I'll have more breaks.” She stretched and groaned as muscles popped and joints snapped. “Do you realize that things regarding those two take up almost one quarter of my time?”
“No, but I'm not surprised,” Jiraiya chuckled, moving to stand behind her and put his hands on her shoulders. “So... are you done for the day?” he asked hopefully.
Red-painted fingertips came up to caress his own fingers from the knuckle down, then her hands turned to hold his. “Hai... I was almost done when they came in... and the last few things can wait until morning.... why?” she asked pretending ignorance.
“Do you really have to ask at this point?” Jiraiya asked with a smirk, leaning down to kiss the spot behind her ear. Their relationship may have been only a casual fling at the moment but that didn't mean the Frog Hermit didn't enjoy every single moment of it.
Tsunade released his hands and cupped his face between them pulling him over her shoulder as she tilted her face up to kiss him. She figured that was enough of an answer for him as the Jutsu smoke of transportation poofed up around them.
--------------------
Sasuke smirked himself and started down the hall. “So, we have all night... what do you want to do? Train?”
“Sure. ...As soon as I get something to eat,” Naruto added as his stomach roared. He smirked challengingly at Sasuke. “Race you to the Ichiraku. But no cheating and using super-speed.”
“I don't have to,” he smirked and took off for the Ichiraku without warning running only as fast as his legs would carry him without any extra push.
“Hey!! Bastard!!” Naruto yelled as he took off after Sasuke, ignoring the pain in his legs as he asked his muscles to exert themselves after doing almost nothing for a month. On top of that he'd been walking around all day, so his legs were even more than unhappy with him.
Sasuke was waiting for him when Naruto finally got to the Ichiraku. “I suppose stamina is something you'll have to work on... ne?”
“Shut up,” Naruto grumbled, sitting down next to him. “Let's see you run when you were tied up for a month.”
“Hey, kid. The usual?” the cook asked.
“Yeah.” Naruto went back to glaring at Sasuke.
Sasuke smirked and shook his head at the cook who looked questioningly at him. “Nothing thank you, but it's on me....” he looked to Naruto then. “Dig in...”
“Sankyuu!” Naruto chirped when the cook put the large bowl in front of him. “Itadakimasu!” He managed three and a half bowls before he was full. The last half of the last bowl ended up over Sasuke's head. “That's for beating me,” Naruto quipped with a fox-grin.
The cook just looked at the mess dripping down Sasuke's face and sighed, leaving to fetch Ayame. It was time for her to clean up anyway.
Sasuke sighed and stood leaving a large wad of bills on the counter out of the puddle he was currently making. “Let's go...” he said solemnly and headed out of the stand brushing his arm up through the cloth signs as he left. Once outside he waited for Naruto and when the boy came up beside him his fist came down on Naruto's head. “Dobe!” he snapped, but it was filled with humor as he leapt out of the way of any return blows and onto the roof ledge of the nearest building.
“Bastard, get back here!!” Naruto yelled, taking off after him. They leapt from roof to roof, occasionally getting hits in as they made their way towards the forest. Eventually they stopped in a clearing deep into the woods and began a serious spar, Naruto going all out to assess just how much skill and power he needed to regain. He wasn't pleased with the results, which was obvious by the way his face was getting darker and darker as his muscles protested when he shouldn't even have been the least bit sore yet.
During a grappling session in their spar, Sasuke - who had been taking note of the fox-boy's bad and worsening attitude throughout - managed to kick Naruto's feet right out from under him. Together they pitched, Sasuke forward and Naruto back, and landed in a heap on the ground, one of them breathing heavy and the other hardly daring to breath at all. Here he was, sprawled on top of Naruto cheek to cheek and chest to chest. How could he even dare to breath and perhaps break the moment... a moment that got better when he lifted his face his bangs curtaining their faces on either side, and looked down into narrow blue eyes. “Lighten up....” he muttered seeing the frustration in Naruto's eyes. A distraction seemed appropriate at the moment and Sasuke was plenty distracted at the moment. “You'll be even better than your old self before you know it...” he murmured as his lips dropped closer and closer to Naruto's until the last word turned into a light kiss followed by a little be more of an assertive one.
Naruto squeaked in surprise as his eyes widened. And then slipped closed as all his brain functions shut down, except for the ones focused on Sasuke's mouth on his own. Growling lightly Naruto kissed back fiercely, his hands untangling from Sasuke's to grab Sasuke's face and pull him closer, effectively crushing their lips together. This was what he hungered for... this was what he dreamed of... he wasn't going to let this moment go to waste. Not this time. He rolled them over so that he was on top and his fingers crawled up to tangle tightly in Sasuke's hair.
The sudden fierceness of his partner sparked something pleasurable in Sasuke that he hadn't felt before and to his surprise his body willingly rolled to lay beneath Naruto. Sasuke’s own hands lifted to Naruto's sides and rubbed down from his ribs light to his waist before pressing in a little and letting them slide up until they pressed lightly against Naruto's lower back. Deciding to chance it Sasuke parted his lips slightly and let his tongue slip out to brush Naruto's lower lip, offering, asking.
Growling louder Naruto opened his mouth and pushed his tongue in Sasuke's mouth and proceeded to devour him, determined to be in control. The sweetness of Sasuke was drugging and Naruto drank it in as if his life depended on it, their lips melding together until it was difficult - if not impossible - to tell where one ended and the other began. All his senses zeroed in completely and utterly on the body below him. The heat and electricity racing along his nerves made him feel more alive than he'd ever thought possible.
A small moanish-whimper snuck out of Sasuke's lungs and his hands slid up Naruto's back pressing his shoulders, pressing him closer. His tongue caressed and toyed with Naruto's as it and its partner danced in and out of one another's mouths. It completely escaped Sasuke's notice as his fangs lengthened to sharp points in response to the sexual stimulus. In fact, he didn't even notice that his heartbeat was back in full force pounding at his chest as if he were 13 again and facing down Haku in his ice-mirror prison, except this time there was no fear. Only love.
Eventually Naruto had to break the kiss and gasp for air, mouth still millimeters away from Sasuke's as he tried to refill his lungs. “Whoa...” he breathed, a little surprised at what had just happened. That had certainly come out of nowhere.
Still feeling the heat of the moment Sasuke licked Naruto's panting mouth once, teasingly. His dark eyes were blacker than usual which meant his pupils were dilated. His eyelids drooped hooding his gaze in a sultry manner. He didn't say anything, his mind was trying to regain control of his body as he himself panted from his lack of control, his fangs showing between kiss swollen, slightly reddened lips.
Not quite ready to get up and off yet Naruto just stared into Sasuke's eyes, willingly drowning in them. He'd never taken the time before to look and see just how... beautiful they were. Absentmindedly he licked the spot Sasuke's tongue had touched, tasting him there. “Your fangs are showing...” he murmured when he finally managed to tear his gaze away from the twin pools of abyss below him, gathering enough wit to sound teasing.
“Fangs?” Sasuke asked as though he had no idea what Naruto was talking about, until he licked his lips and then, of course, his tongue brushed over them causing them to retract. “Aa...” he murmured and then reached up again to lick at Naruto's lips once more. “Why did you stop?” he asked his deep voice a little rough and lazy like it had been earlier that evening when he had first woken up. A bedroom voice and Sasuke was starting to look slightly pouty. He couldn't help it! The drive for more of that warming contact, that sensual tongue, those smooth lips... Sasuke felt a little at a loss to resist the words that came out of himself. He felt a tiny bit wanton, murmuring those words as he lay beneath Naruto his lips still feeling the ghost pressure of the other boy's.
That question got him a "just how stupid are you?" look. “Unlike you, ahou, I kinda have to breathe. Remember that part about being alive?” Naruto taunted cheerfully, nipping at Sasuke's nose. “And in case you forgot, we're supposed to be sparring.” He started to nuzzle lightly at Sasuke's cheek, liking the soft skin he found there. Slowly his fear of Sasuke abandoning him continued to erode bit by bit with every passing moment they spent together, every tease and taunt, every touch... and the kiss certainly didn't hurt.
Sasuke's eyes closed and he sighed. “We are.... it's just a little bit different than how we usually do it, dobe... I'm helping you get your lung capacity back.” He sounded so incredibly serious and so much like the old Sasuke despite the look of bliss at Naruto's nuzzles written all over his face.
“Bastard,” Naruto growled affectionately, delivering a hard bite to Sasuke's neck in retaliation. “My lung capacity is perfectly fine, thank you very much.”
The sensation of teeth pressing into his neck made Sasuke's body flood with heat that raced through him pooling in his lower abdomen. His body's immediate response was to arch up into the body above him just a little, the tightening of his hands in Naruto's orange coat over Naruto's shoulder blades and the tipping back of his head. “Hnh...” he breathed before his body relaxed a little after making the small noise. Black eyes slitted open to gaze up at him dazedly.
Naruto flew up onto his hands and knees as Sasuke arched then he felt something press against his lower abdomen. “Well... that's new...” he muttered, not quite sure how to react to that. Then he noticed the look in Sasuke's eyes and smirked. “You look like your brain shut off,” he teased.
Blink..... Blink, blink. Sasuke's brain slowly kicked back on and into gear at those words. It was back to training or else Naruto might be finding himself in trouble very soon, Sasuke decided, so without any warning at all Sasuke picked Naruto up with a wave of telekinetic power and sent him fox-sliding about thirty feet in the other direction. As Naruto slid on one hand and two feet dust curling around his ankles, Sasuke got to his feet his fangs retracting as did something else. “Well it’s on now, Usurukontachi... unless you're too tired to challenge me some more.”
“After THAT?! Are you kidding?! How did you do that?! That was awesome!!” Naruto bubbled as he stood up, going from shocked to annoyed to amazed in less than a second. He wanted to be able to do that! Well, he could... but he would have to use chakra and Sasuke hadn't used any. “Can you teach me that?!”
Sasuke sighed. “Baka. I can't teach you something like that... you have to inherit it or be born with it. I can't teach you it any more than I can teach you Sharingan. It's a power of the mind... called Telekinesis. It uses absolutely no Chakra, only the power of my thoughts. It's like a self-powering Jutsu...” he explained dumbing things down just a little bit for Naruto's mental consumption.
“Oh... well damn,” Naruto grumbled in disappointment. and then he was throwing punches at Sasuke, beginning their spar and trying to catch him off guard.
