Tenten woke the next morning and found herself in the unusual state of disorientation. After more than seven years of missions away from home, she was used to waking up in odd places. The weirdest part was the fact that she was in a bed and it was hot.
As the cobwebs cleared from her mind, she registered the other body in the bed with her and recognized it as the heat source. She yawned and stretched and turned to him. He was fast asleep, sprawled on the bed next to her. One arm was thrown up over his head and the other reached out toward her.
Sleeping next to him was going to take some getting used to. She giggled quietly and started to slip out of bed.
"Where do you think you are going?" He wrapped his arm around her and dragged her closer to him.
Tenten laughed. "I was going to go to the bathroom, silly."
"Oh, well, I suppose that is okay." He released her and she hurried in to take care of her business. A moment later, she came back out. She stood at the side of the bed, trying hard not to laugh. He hadn't moved an inch. "Are you coming back to bed?"
"We should probably get moving. I don't know what time Sakura and Kakashi will be up." Despite her words, she sat on the side of the bed.
"If I am any judge of Kakashi, they are still in bed and will be for some time. Come here." He said and pulled her down to him.
She laughed again and snuggled up along his side. She kissed his shoulder and chest, enjoying the freedom of being with him. He kissed her forehead and stroked her hair. "How soon can I make you my wife?"
"I would like a wedding with our friends there, but it doesn't have to be a big one." She traced circles in his thin chest hair as she spoke. "Although, I'd almost go find someone to marry us today, given what I'm about to go through."
His arms tightened around her. "I would like that. But I do not know where anyone would be here."
They lay in silence a few moments, trying not to think of the immediate future. Instead, they reaffirmed their love, slowly, softly, lovingly. As they lay in the aftermath, there was a quiet knock at the door.
Gai kissed Tenten again before getting up. "Stay here, I'll find out who it is."
He opened the door a crack to see Sakura on the other side. "Hello, Sakura. How are you this morning?"
Sakura smiled at him. "I'm fine, Gai. We're heading to breakfast in about half an hour, if you'd like to join us?"
"Of course we would, Sakura. We will see you then. Thank you." He closed the door and turned back to Tenten.
She'd already climbed out of bed and was heading into the bathroom. He grinned at her and slowly walked across the room to her. At the doorway, he propped an arm over her head and leaned in, kissing her slowly and thoroughly. Tenten moaned quietly and wrapped her arms around him.
"I think we should shower together. To save time." He said and grinned evilly at her.

"It'll be at least another forty-five minutes." Sakura reported to Kakashi. She grinned. "I think they'd just gotten out of bed."
Kakashi closed his eyes a moment. "I really really do not want to think about Gai and sex. It's just too creepy."
Sakura laughed and smacked him on the arm. "It's not that bad." She stripped out of her hastily pulled on top and shorts and headed for the bathroom herself.
"And where do you think you're going?" He growled in her ear as he grabbed her from behind.
"To shower?" She was having trouble breathing all of a sudden.
"Not without me, I hope?" He nibbled on her neck, shoulder and the bare skin at her back.
Sakura tried valiantly to remember how to speak. "We'll just take too much time if we shower tog…geth…er." She gave up and moaned quietly.
He moved his hands up to cup one breast and she was lost. "Okay. Okay! You win."
She turned around and kissed him thoroughly. In surprise, he released her and she stepped back and into the bathroom. She tried to shut the door on him, but he was, of course, too fast.
Half an hour later, as they were dressing, there was a knock on the door. Surprised, Sakura glanced at Kakashi, then grabbed her clothes and escaped into the bathroom. He opened the door to a grinning Gai and Tenten.
"Are you ready for breakfast? I am famished!" He announced to the inn. Tenten blushed bright red, knowing that Kakashi knew precisely why he was so hungry.
Kakashi did his best not to laugh. He held the door open wider and stepped back for them. Sakura came out of the bathroom a moment later and grinned. "Hi guys."
Tenten blushed again, brighter this time, but managed to squeak out a "hi." Gai posed and gave her his patented nice guy grin.
Sakura laughed, fighting the urge to roll her eyes. "Let's get going." She grabbed Tenten's arm and pulled her through the door, leaving the guys to bring up the rear. She leaned in to her as they headed down the stairs. "How are you?"
Tenten thought she couldn't get any redder in the face, but apparently, she was wrong. She cleared her throat and took a deep breath. "I'm fine." She had no idea what else to say.
"I meant that if you were, you know, sore or something, I could help you." Sakura smiled to soften the embarrassment.
"OH." Tenten's eyes widened as she got what Sakura was saying. "Oh. No, actually, I'm okay. I was…earlier, but it seems to be okay now." She was still blushing profusely.
"Well, good." They fell into an uncomfortable silence for a minute.
"He doesn't do it during sex." Tenten practically mumbled it.
Sakura wasn't sure she heard her right at first. "What?"
"You know, the whole 'power of youth' thing?" She glanced over her shoulder at him walking a few steps behind them, talking with Kakashi.
"OH!" Sakura chuckled. "I had wondered."
Tenten couldn't help herself, she laughed. "Yeah, um, totally different."
They both glanced back at the men and this time they stopped talking to stare. "What?" Gai asked.
"Nothing!" Sakura laughed again.
Their breakfast at the tea house was simple and companionable. They chatted about their friends and discussed further their weddings. Sakura and Tenten agreed that, if all went well and they were able to finish the mission, they'd shop there in town before they headed home.
Sakura and Kakashi showed them around town, pointing out the Fushinji headquarters, then taking them up through the woods to show them the path to the beach and the ships, currently with two of the three anchored in the harbor.
They went by the bars that Kakashi and Sakura had discovered, the pier and the comings and goings of the ships there. When Tenten told Sakura that she had nothing with her appropriate to wear to a bar, Sakura hurried to reassure her. "You're going to want comfortable clothes, anyway. We'll just be a couple of friends out on the town. Who knows what they'll allow you to wear? I have no idea if what I saw was what they'd been wearing when they were captured or if it was something that Fushinji gave them. Either way, stay comfortable."
Tenten nodded. As they made their way back to the inn, Gai pulled Tenten aside. "My blossom."
She looked up at him and grinned, determined not to think of what might happen. "What is it, Gai?" She kissed him quickly, worried about the look on his face.
"Go with me now. Marry me. There is a temple on the other end of town. We could make it permanent now, before you go."
Tenten considered his words. She'd said just a short while ago that she'd be willing to do that, but now that it was facing her, she wasn't so sure. She was just girl enough to want a nice dress and a ceremony.
Gai seemed to read her mind. "We can still have a nice ceremony when we get back. I will buy you any dress you want." He held her close to him and she could feel the tiniest of tremors run though him. Gai, one of the strongest men in Fire country, was scared for her.
In the face of his fear, she suddenly felt selfish and small. "Of course we can." She smiled up at him. They turned to Kakashi and Sakura. "We have a favor to ask."

Sakura insisted on putting her new red dress on Tenten at least so that she could be married in something besides her ninja clothes. She helped her put everything on in a small room off of the main temple. She brushed her hair out and twisted it, adding the Sakura blossom comb to it. Then she loaned her the earrings that Kakashi had given her for the party.
She looked lovely. Sakura hugged her and they stepped out into the main room. With no flowers to hold, Tenten fidgeted for a bit before simply folding her hands in front of her. But then Kakashi stepped up to her and handed her a small bouquet of wildflowers from the small field outside. "From Gai," was all he said, then he went to the front to stand next to him.
Tenten and Sakura approached the priest and took their places at the front. Gai and Tenten had eyes only for each other and Sakura smiled at how obviously they loved each other. She wondered how she'd managed to miss it all this time. She shook her head at it and her eyes met Kakashi's.
They, too, had considered taking their vows then. But unlike Tenten whose parents were no longer around, Sakura's mother would kill her if she got married without her present. They'd all but pledged themselves to each other already, so the simple formality of the ceremony could wait as far as they were concerned.
The ceremony was very short, simple words spoken to pledge their lives to each other. Then they were kissing and it was over and she was truly married to Gai. She hadn't even realized she was crying until Sakura handed her a tissue. She dabbed at her face and they left the temple after signing the appropriate documents.
They headed back to the inn and separated in the hallway. Sakura hugged Tenten hard told her again how beautiful she was. Then Kakashi stepped up and kissed her on the cheek before shaking Gai's hand. "You may have married first, but I'm going to have the first kid."
He laughed as the look of competition sparked in Gai's eyes, but Tenten elbowed him in the side. "No." That's all she said, but Gai had the grace to blush.
"Of course, my blossom." He said and turned back to her.
"We'll be over right before dinner. It's on us, and it's going to be a special one tonight." Kakashi threw a mock salute and he and Sakura headed into their room.
Not a moment later, the door to Gai and Tenten's room was closed and locked and then they could hear nothing at all.
