It was only a few days later, in the hours just before dawn, when there was a panicked knocking on the Uzumaki door. Sasuke had rolled over, hiding himself under the blanket as he nudged Naruto awake. "Go get it." Naruto fought it, at first, before he was promptyly pushed out of bed. Rolling onto the floor, he didn't really have much of a choice. "Fine, but you owe me when I get back." Snickering, Sasuke rolled back over, despite being entirely awake. Secretly, he was listening. As the blond shuffled over the wooden floor and finally opened the front door, he was surprised to see one of the teachers panting heavily.
"I...got here as fast as I could...It's your twins..." Sasuke sat up, alone in the bedroom, and rubbed his face awake. He was correct about his assumption. Getting up, he made his way slowly to the front of the house, poking a curious and innocent face around Naruto's body. "Tomoko - Sensei? What are you doing here?" "Sasuke..." Naruto turned to his spouse, his eyes watery from both sadness and anger. "The twins are missing." "There was an attack on the camp, and everyone is accounted for, except Kana and Shino. I...I don't know..." Narrowing his dark eyes, Sasuke looked to Naruto. "You know who took them...We need to..." Pushing passed Sasuke, Naruto was already heading to his room. Turning to the teacher, Sasuke offered a bow. "Don't worry. We know who did this. Please go back to the camp site." Before the teacher could speak, the door was closed. Leaning against the wood, Sasuke slid down to sit of the floor with a heavy sigh. Hands covered the exhausted face at first, before it lifted. "Naruto?" After being called out, the man came from around the corner. He was already dressed in black and orange, a headband tied to hold the overgrown blond bangs back. Strongly, the blue eyes focused on Sasuke. "We're going after them. You know where Kabuto is, don't you?" Raising his eyebrows, Sasuke stood slowly. "I...don't really. I have some ideas, but...We should really tell Gaara." "Fine. Get dressed." Giving a quiet nod, Sasuke moved leave, before his wrist was grabbed tightly. "Sasuke." Looking over, Sasuke didn't try to pull away. "Is she going to kill them?" "...I don't know. I really don't know." The striped face was obviously very torn with the decisions he had to make regarding his former friend, and it tore Sasuke up to see him like that. Offering a smile, he reached over with his free hand to pet the yellow spikes. "Don't worry. We'll save them and her too, okay? You always save us, don't you?" Scoffing, Naruto only shrugged as he released the wrist. "I guess I do. Hurry up, okay?" Nodding, Sasuke kept his smile until he left Naruto's sight. Alone in the bedroom, it seemed to instantly fade. Quickly, he dressed. The white kimono and black pants were ready for him. Under the floor board, the recently sharpened katana was removed. Pulling it from its hilt, it was swung for a few practice swipes. Turning, Naruto was standing in the doorway. "Ready?" Sasuke gave a nod to answer the question. Gaara stood from the desk chair, as Naruto and Sasuke forced themselves into the office. It took him a moment to get it clear what exactly Naruto was yelling about. "...Wait. Slow down. What do you mean, gone?" "My twins are missing! We have to go after Sakura before she kills them! We're going with or without you, Gaara! We waited too long!" The green eyes scanned over the room, looking to Sasuke, who was rather calm and quiet about the entire thing. With arms folded, Sasuke stood by the door with his eyes closed. "And what about you? They are your children too." "You know what I think, Gaara." So, he did. Sasuke shared the sentiment that Sakura should have been dealt with the first time around. "Fair enough. Shiro, do you have an idea where the base might be? With the machine?" Shiro, standing in the background as usual, gave a slow nod. "I doubt they moved the main base...but if we all go there, it'll be all the pieces Kabuto needs." "Something I did not want to risk, but we have no choice now it seems.." Again, Gaara looked at Sasuke. "Send word to my siblings. Tell my brother to bring Akane. We're going after them." Nodding, Shiro turned to leave through the back. Sitting back down, Gaara gave a sigh. "We're going to have one shot at this, Naruto. Just one." The blond gave a nod, seemingly calming down, if only a little bit. "I only need one shot." "And if Sakura interferes..." "Leave her to me." Sasuke took an interest in that, turning his attention to Gaara. Gaara caught notice of the look, narrowing his eyes. "...I see. I trust you with that matter then, Naruto. If you'll excuse me, I have to get ready and wait for Kankuro..." "Alright." Naruto turned his attention to Sasuke, as Gaara left through the same door as Shiro. Closing it, he straightened his face. Waiting for Shiro, who came with his Sand container, he whispered something into his lover's ear. At first, Shiro looked surprised, but then nodded. He had be given fairly simple, though shocking directions. They were going to make sure that Sasuke and Sakura would be alone in battle, no matter what. "I got here as fast as I could!" Kankuro had run into Gaara's office, his puppets on his back. Close behind was Akane, dressed in full Vanguard armor. "I'm SO sorry about ya kids, man. Don't worry. We're gonna beat the shit outta Kabuto, kay? I got my friends here and we'll mess him up good!" Grinning, the puppeteer thumb gestured to his back. Akane only rolled his eyes before turning his attention to the ever quiet Sasuke. "...Are...you alright?" Turning, Sasuke gave a nod. "I am. Can I talk to you in private for a moment?" The prince nodded, moving with Sasuke to another corner of the room. Naruto continued to chatter with Kankuro, not even noticing that Sasuke had disappeared. It was only until Gaara came back with Shiro, both a bit more battle-ready in appearance. As the Kazekage tightened a pair of black leather gloves over his fingers, Shiro stood by. His face was covered, but left the short, white hair exposed. Laying a map over Gaara's desk, he started to point and talk. "You remember this, Sasuke? This ridge?" Leaning over, Sasuke gave a nod. It wasn't too far away, a ridge that led to a series of caves near some buried ruins. "As far as I know, the ruins are where the cells are housed. We can get in and through some old sewers to the main dungeon. It's heavily guarded...The bodies are buried and will activate if you break their barriers..." "B..Bodies?" Kankuro didn't like the idea of fighting dead people, again. Shiro nodded. "They are passive traps, so be careful. They will also alert Kankuro to our presence...I don't know who else is working for him..." "Great, fuckin' zombies and shit. Akane, you're with me." "And I'll be with Gaara. Sasuke and Naruto will look for their children and Sakura. Kankuro, I need you and Akane to look for the machine. Neither of you have Jinchurikis, and are the chance to find it without too much risk. Gaara and I will look for Kabuto. He...will be able to sense me." "So, you're bait?"Raising an eyebrow, Naruto eyed Shiro. Giving a sad smile, the white haired male nodded. "I don't think that's such a good idea..." "Don't worry, I'll be protecting Gaara. You need to focus on finding those twins."While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
