Sasuke. Uchiha. Glaring up at the large beast of a demon, the crimson eyes narrowed. "Stop toying with me. You know why I'm here." The tightly gripped sword pointed it's dangerous tip toward the cage. Kuh. Kuh. Kuh. Kuh. Laughing again, the beast turned to show the grinning face completely. Opening the large maw, hot and rancid breath came gusting toward the man. Tuffs of the black hair and layers of clothing ruffled in the stale wind. Sasuke. Uchiha. Your name never stops ringing in my ears. Always. Always. Betrayal. Pain. Torment. Love. You are more of the demon than even me. Turning the large yellow and red slanted eyes, Kyuubi seemed to be distracted by something behind over yonder. The black lined lips curled to growl softly as it sunk back into the depths of the cage. With a black eyebrow cocked, Sasuke turned slightly while the grip and strong arm kept a hold on the sword. Standing in a lit row were four figures, varying of age and height. Each figure stood in shadow until one at a time, a spotlight shone down from the ceiling. From youngest to old, three of the figures were lit up in order, all versions of Naruto. The fourth figure remained in darkness, a ghostly, black shadow without details or form. "Stupid Sasuke! He never talks to me! He just sits all alone like he's so much cooler! He doesn't have any parents either so why...why won't he talk to me...?" The smallest of the embodiments spoke with a high-pitched voice. Clenching an angry fist at first, in shook in frustration. When it came to relax, large tears were rolling down the boy's chubby cheeks. "That jerk! He thinks he's so cool just because the girls like him! High and mighty, I wanna punch him in his jerk face!....But he is kind of cool...when he saves me..." To the left of the smallest child was an school aged version, dressed in painfully bright orange. With a headband on, the second to youngest gave multiple boxing shots to the air before he calmed down. Even with a slight blush, he still look angry and confused. "I'm stronger now! Sasuke, you can come home! I won't be in the way anymore. Why? Why won't you come back home? Everyone really cares and misses you, especially Sakura!...And me. I really miss you, Sasuke." The teenage male in orange and black tried to smile, but had fallen into depression. Clenching a strong fist, the muscled arm shook as he tried to understand why his best friend hated him so much. The last shadowed figure stood taller than the rest. It didn't speak or move, but the Uchiha could feel the gaze. Turning his back entirely to Kyuubi, Sasuke lowered the sword. "What...do I have to do?" "You have to make amends, Sasuke." Flying from the dark corridor, large black bird landed on Sasuke's shoulder. Startled, Sasuke tried to shake it off. The bird flew up from the shaking, only to be engulfed in a shadow as it reformed. With a gentle step, Itachi touched the ground to stand in front of Sasuke with a soft smile. "Syncing with the host is about complete trust. Kyuubi is trying to bring up the doubts that still linger in Naruto's mind." Though Sasuke had heard everything, the body of the younger Uchiha moved on its own to hug the elder. Surprised, Itachi looked down. With a gentle hand, it move to brush the short spikes of Sasuke's hair. "But you were resurrected by Kabuto. If your soul was here...why...?" Sasuke looked to his brother, a little confused on whether or not this was another of the Nine-Tail's tricks. Itachi gave a light laugh, something he had not done in front of Sasuke in many years. "It's just a piece. Just a little piece of me and my love for you that I took out of myself and gave away for safe keeping. " Pushing Sasuke up by the shoulders, the soft hands wiped away the forming tears in the younger brother's eyes. "He was the only one who looked me in the eyes without fear and told me he was going to save you. He didn't want anything else. I figured if you haven't come to your senses, I'd have to poke fun at you at bit." Teasingly, Sasuke had his forehead poked, causing him react instantly to rub the spot. Looking over, he eyed the row of Naruto's again. "What...What do I do?" Itachi came behind and gave his brother a little push. "You never said what you wanted to say. Now's your chance." "But I.." Turning, Itachi was gone. All that remained was a single black feather laying on the black, stone floor. Upon picking it up, the feather burned away at Sasuke's fingers. Rubbing the tips, the remaining ash faded. "Say...what I wanted to say? Alright." Walking forward, Sasuke's image disappeared into darkness. Reemerging, the youngest Naruto came face to face with the young boy he was upset with. Now as the same age, Sasuke offered a smile. The blond child was still sniffling until Sasuke reached over to hug him. "I'm sorry I never spoke to you. I really wanted too. I wanted to play with you and have you visit my house. We could of went fishing and hunting for frogs. It would of been really fun." The sniffling slowly halted, feeling the warmth of the words and the hug. "I.. really like frogs." They both started to laugh as the youngest of the Naruto's began to fade away while wiping the sad eyes. "Okay! I'll see you at the dock tomorrow!" Waving, the first of the illusions disappeared into the abyss. The overhead light went out. Standing alone in the darkness, Sasuke moved to next one. Aged to meet the second Naruto, Sasuke put an arm around his friend. At least, what started off as friendly turned into a choke-hold as Sasuke gave Naruto a noogie that was not to be forgotten. "Oy. Scaredy Cat. Your kissing sucks." "ACK! SASUKE!" Struggling, Naruto twisted and pulled until he was finally let go. Turning around, an accusing finger was pointed at the Uchiha. "YOU! It's not like I did it on purpose! Stop making fun of me just because Sakura likes you!" Smiling, Sasuke moved to take the hand of the wagging finger. "I don't like Sakura. And you better practice if you wanna beat me. I can't have you as my partner if you can't kiss or fight." Blushing even hotter, Naruto was a little bewildered. "Part..Partner?" Grinning, the raven-haired preteen gave a nod. "Yeah. Who's gonna save me when I need if you can't keep up? Then you have to nurse me back to health, and that's a lot of alone time." "St...STUPID!" Running off as he vanished, Naruto made sure to turn with the kiss my ass motion and laugh. Sasuke motioned the same until the illusion disappeared and the light turned off for a second time. All that was remaining as far as lit up figures was Naruto at 16. This time, it was Sasuke who was approached. Sasuke was back to the way he had come when the light followed, wearing the Orochimaru uniform with sword in hand. "I couldn't bring you home that day, you know. It still hurts to think about." The teenage male looked Sasuke in the eyes as he spoke softly. Lowering the red eyes, Sasuke only sighed. "And it pisses me off to think that you had the guts to come for me, but I didn't have the spine to accept it." Stepping closer, Naruto placed his headband'ed forehead against Sasuke's. The heavy breathing tickled Sasuke's nose and lips, as the piercing gaze from the blue eyes lowered the strong defenses. "Why didn't you come with me, Sasuke?" Warm hands caressed the pale cheeks before running down the exposed chest from the opened kimono top. "Why didn't you?" Shivering, Sasuke had to grab the hands and push himself away before the gentle whispering made him lose control. "I love you. I loved you even then and you had no idea. You blindly chased after me and you didn't even consider how I felt! You chased me as a friend...that's all. Even when I asked you, that's all you would have to say!" Surprised, Naruto stopped the caressing to look. The crimson eyes looked into the blue ones, a sad expression of pain gave them away. "Naruto, I'm not blaming you. I didn't have the strength to say it and you didn't know what I wanted to hear. You are stronger than I am. You had what it took to say exactly how you felt and I didn't. But how you felt...wasn't how I felt." Sasuke pushed away again until they had some distance apart. Naruto looked guilty as his eyes started to avert. "I knew. Not at first, but I knew. Exchanging blows with you, I knew. You're not that great at hiding things." A small smile came to the lips attached to the striped face. "And I practiced my kissing. Many, many sacrificed pillows with drool stains." Laughing, Sasuke nodded. "Well, it paid off." Pulled by the wrist, Sasuke found himself in a tight embrace. There was whispering in his ear before the body holding him vanished. "I love you, Sasuke." It managed to steal a gentle kiss before turning into vapors. The final light turned off, leaving Sasuke alone in the darkness. The only light left was coming from Kyuubi's cage. Suddenly, there was a tug at Sasuke arm. Sasuke pulled back, but the force was stronger than he thought. Pulling towards the cage, the shadow had taken a hold of him. Sasuke tried again to remove his arm, but was unable to break the grasp. As they hurried to the cage, the black hand reached out to peel the seal off the metal bar door. "Wait! What are you doing?!" Sasuke's hand was forced to be where the seal was. His palm held in place by the figure's grasp. "Concentrate, Sasuke!" The force of the chakra beams had lifted the darkness from the figure's face, just enough for Naruto to speak. With short hair and trimmed goatee, the gray-scale face was struggling to stay. Focused Sharingan eyes grew wide, but turned to probe into Kyuubi's mind. Crying out in pain, the demon was pushed back to remain inside the opened prison. "Naruto!" The cry was from those who came running from the hall. "Naruto! What are you doing?!" As the male couple held the door, Minato and Kushina ran towards them. "What are ya doin'?!" Flustered, the mother was busy scolding her son so much that Minato had to stop her. "We need to put the seal back on! Move!" "No! Tear it in half and give us each a piece!" Turning, Naruto yelled as he and Sasuke were using their backs to hold the door shut. "SHUT UP KYUUBI! No one cares!" Grunting, Kyuubi head-butted the cage, but was pushed back with some force. "MOM! DAD! I know what I'm doing! This is what I want, so help me!" Pouting, Kushina looked towards Minato, who scratched his head with a sigh. "Alright..." "MINATO!" Sasuke would of laughed at how much they were like Naruto, if he wasn't busy fighting for his life. "It's what the boy wants, Shina...He wants to share his life with this guy over here. How can we say no to that?" The long, red headed woman only pouted more before snatching the seal from her husband. "Fine. FINE..." Tearing it right down the middle, she placed her hands on Sasuke's and her son's hearts. "Minato! The seal! Hurry up!" Laughing, the blond man came, his fingers moving together in rapid session, showing off several symbols. "Bind." The boys cried out in pain, the paper talismans burning deeply into the skin of the chests. Kushina was in pain as well, her hands also burning with the heat. The one who cried out most was Kyuubi, as twin streams of his life force and chakra were being funneled into two separate bodies. Once it was over, Sasuke's vision blurred. Lightheaded and dizzy, he fainted and hit the ground with a thud. Once again, everything was black. Feeling shaking, someone was calling out his name. Blinking, the red eyes opened to a blurry face. "Ow..." Removing the glasses, Sasuke found that he saw better without them. Closing the red eyes tightly, the Sharingan was released. The once grey eyes had regained their color to twin pools of the darkest ink. Looking up, he saw blue eyes looking tiredly down at him, the zipper jacket opened to see a new seal on the tan chest, directly where the heart was. "Hey, Sasuke? Sasuke? You did it, ya know? It's all over." Sitting up, Sasuke rubbed the back of his head. The ponytail that had grown out was still there, much to his relief. Looking around, Sasuke clearly saw the damage that had taken place. With the seal removed, Naruto's shroud had lashed out. The long whipped marks in the ground, the battered friends, and broken trees explained it quite a bit. Sai was holding Neji in an embrace, who had bad burns on his palms. Shikimaru had taken some bruises from his shield breaking, Choji had stepped in to protect the women who were focusing their chakra on Naruto's hold. The scrolls that boxed them in were mostly torn to shreds, even burned in some places. "How long...was I gone?" Sasuke had no idea what time it was. "Only a few minutes. Once you went inside, his shroud came out immediately. Naruto did his best to hold it back. Were you able to...?" Kakashi's voice paused as he saw the new seal on Sasuke's chest. Naruto pulled his jacket away to show the opposite half of the symbol that was no longer on his belly. "It's split in half, Kakashi-Sensei. My mom did it that way." Gaara approached, dusting himself off. "Half? That's more than what we needed, but it works. How are you feeling?" Naruto's burned skin was already mostly healed and Sasuke's vision had cleared. "....I think...I'm fine. Better than usual. My healing has increased and Sasuke's too. Look, his eyes are better..." Gaara turned to look at Sasuke. "Indeed, they are. Perhaps you absorbed more than just Chakra. I'm not an expert on these things...Either way, we should get some of these people to the medical clinic and you should get back home."
