Neji smiled at Naruto as they sat at a small table drinking their coffees. “Honestly, Naruto, stop being offended on my behalf.”
Naruto snorted as he crossed his arms. “Easier said than done.” He pouted at Neji as the older boy smirked in his direction. “You were within your rights.”
Neji shook his head. “You told me Haku is fucking Itachi's uncle. I should have known better than to go there.” He nudged Naruto's shoulder. “Besides, now I have a reason to force you out in the light of day.”
Itachi shook his head as handed Naruto the donut he had asked for. “Hands off the fiance, Hyuuga.”
Neji smirked. “Worried about the competition, Uchiha?”
Itachi chuckled and sat down next to Naruto. “Not in the slightest.”
The three of them were catching up a few weeks after Neji had been at the club. Naruto didn't mention that he was sure something was going on and he was being left out. He figured whatever was happening they knew what was going on. Naruto shook his head as Itachi poked his ribs. “I have to meet up with Sasuke soon. He wants to pick up a present for Anko. I think he's actually really digging your friend, and she's earning points by putting up with our families' level of crazy.”
Neji smiled as he saw Itachi's smile. “Sounds like your brother is actually getting serious? Isn't that truly a first?”
Itachi nodded. “I haven't had the time I want to have with my brother recently with my new job, but I'm glad that Naruto is able to keep me updated.” He wrapped his arm around Naruto's waist and smiled. “Truly though, I am glad to see he's opening himself up. He's focused so much on school and after he graduates, that I worry about his personal life.”
Naruto smiled and stood up. He leaned over to give Itachi a quick kiss and a hug for Neji. “I need to get going or Sas is going to probably buy something incredibly lame. He needs my skills.”
Itachi chuckled and lightly tapped his butt. “Get going then future husband. Save my brother from his poor shopping skills.”
Naruto chuckled as he headed to the door. He paused when he saw Haku and Deidara coming in. He paused as Deidara walked through the door and Neji called out to him with the name Yami. He turned slightly and raised an eyebrow. His movement unblocked Haku from Neji's view for just a second, but Naruto stepped in his way. “Haku, leave him alone.”
Haku sighed, but nodded. After all it wouldn't do have Deidara seen with him again, especially when he had to maintain his Yami personality. At least Itachi knew to pretend not to know Deidara. Naruto couldn't be expected to do the same. “I'll just go elsewhere. Dei knows how to find me.”
Naruto looked back and saw Neji talking to Deidara with a smile on his face. Whatever they were doing, it was definitely not a chance that Neji had arranged to be at the club on a day when Dei was going to be there. Rather than worry about it, Naruto smiled and turned back to help Sasuke start shopping.
Itachi's eyes widened for a fraction of a second when he saw Haku, but he breathed out a sigh of relief as Naruto ran interference. Hopefully Naruto wouldn't have noticed Neji call the man by another name and make a fuss of it. It seemed though that Haku was leaving with Naruto, so hopefully that meant he was unaware.
Neji smiled and waved Deidara over when he had his drink. Until he was sure that Naruto and Haku were both gone, he would call the man Yami. “Yami, come sit with us.” Deidara smiled as he sat down at the table. “This is my friend Itachi. You just missed his fiance Naruto.”
Deidara smiled and held out his hand to Itachi. “It's a pleasure to meet you.” He held up a finger to his mouth and dropped a note on the table. Itachi shook Deidara's hand and read the note letting them know he was bugged today.
“It's a pleasure to meet you Yami. I'm only sorry you've missed my fiance. I think he'd love your blond hair, seeing as he has his own blond hair.” Itachi said. “I apologize, but I do have to get something for my fiance's father. Downside to living with them is I need to run errands for them.”

Haku sighed as he dodged a metaphorical bullet. At least it didn't seem like Neji had seen him this time. He sighed as he wandered toward a ramen stand that Naruto, Hinata, and himself had frequented when he was still with Hinata. He smiled as he walked in and the owner greeted him. “Haku, it's been a long time since I've seen you. Naruto and Hinata come alone these days.”
Haku smiled sadly. “Yes, unfortunately, Hinata and I are no longer together and Naruto is very angry with me.”
Teuchi eyed the young man critically before nodding to himself. “If you ask me, the two of you were never that good a fit. Oh you're both good kids, but I don't think she was your kind.”
Haku chuckled softly. “No, I don't suppose she was no matter how much I wanted her to be.” He smiled. “Can I get a pork ramen?”
Teuchi nodded his head to the spot at the counter where the trio typically sat when they had visited. “Sure can.” After preparing the ramen, he set the bowl down in front of Haku. “So, what have you been up to lately?”
Haku smiled. “Work at the hospital keeps me busy and when I'm not there, I'm at the club my boyfriend runs.”
Teuchi smiled knowingly. “This boyfriend, he treats you right?”
Haku shrugged. “He does. I'm happier than I've been in a while. I just wish that my happiness didn't come at Hinata's expense.”
Teuchi chuckled. “I don't think that's a problem. She came in the other day with another blond. He was taller, long hair. Seemed really nice though. I know they're not dating, but it seemed like she could easily fall for him.”
The bell over the door rang as a customer entered the store. “Hinata,” Teuchi called out. “Is Naruto joining you?”
Haku did his best to keep his face neutral as Hinata came and sat down next to him at the counter. “Haku,” she said calmly. She turned to Teuchi and smiled, her voice much warmer as she spoke. “Naruto isn't able to make it today, I'm afraid. He's trying to help Sasuke shop, so I'm assuming that will be a disaster that takes all day to resolve. Can I get a beef ramen?”
Haku sighed, “I am sorry.”
Hinata turned her head slightly in his direction. “I have nothing more to say to you. I know you were sleeping with someone else while we were together. I don't know much more than that. I don't know who and I don't care. I trusted you with my heart and you broke it.”
He frowned. “I know.” He took a deep breath, hoping maybe she would back off a bit if she knew it was a man. “I had a bit of an identity crisis and I didn't know how to talk about it with you. I've always felt attraction to men. I knew I was supposed to like women.” He shrugged. “I know it doesn't excuse my actions, but I had to know what it was to be with a man.”
Hinata shook her head. “Excuses, Haku. You could have told me. I would have given you that. Instead you went behind my back.” She paused as Teuchi dropped off her ramen. “Anything we could have been or figured out left when you chose to cheat. I don't owe you forgiveness so you can feel better.”
Haku nodded. He had finished his ramen and he was quite done with the conversation. “I'll let you be then.” He placed some money on the counter and was leaving the store as he ran into Deidara. “Dei, I didn't expect to see you here.”
Deidara glanced at Hinata and then nodded. “I'm sorry sir, I believe you have me mistaken for someone else. My name is Yami, and I'm afraid I don't know you.”
Haku smiled. “My apologies for the confusion.” Cursing under his breath, he couldn't believe he'd forgotten Hinata was sitting there when she was the reason he was leaving the store. He headed straight to his car and sighed as he closed the door. He pressed the button to connect to his phone before saying, “Call Madabear.”
“Little Minx,” Madara said as he answered, “I thought you had a shift today.”
Haku frowned. “I do. I'm heading to the office shortly, but do you think you can swing by during the quiet hours?”
“What happened?” Madara asked quietly. Haku rarely made requests of him so the fact that he asked with such a serious tone to his voice suggested an issue.
“Better to talk in person, my love,” Haku frowned.
*****
Haku sighed as he checked the charts in front of him. As strange as it had been to say yes to being Madara's special someone, was as strange as it felt to be in the hospital now. He realized he preferred being with Madara in the club and learning the other businesses to being here. Maybe it was time he put in notice. He supposed it would depend on how Madara reacted to his slip.
“You look wretched, Minx. What are you thinking about?”
Haku looked up as Madara spoke and smiled softly. Despite his misgivings and any other thoughts running through his mind, he knew he loved this man. “Putting in my notice here, depending on how you take my news.”
Madara stepped into the desk and wrapped his arms around Haku's waist. “Little Minx, I don't think I have it in me anymore to be upset with you.”
Haku sighed and turned so he was facing Madara. “I made a real mistake.” He bit his lip. “I ran into Hinata today at lunch. It wasn't a big deal, but Deidara must have been called by her and I didn't think when he walked in. I called him Dei.”
Madara's eyes narrowed. “How did Deidara react?”
Haku shrugged. “Like a professional. I don't even think Hinata noticed to be honest.” He sighed and dropped his head to Madara's chest. “It's just with Neji asking about him and Hinata now, I feel like we're dancing on the edge of a knife here.”
Madara frowned, but wrapped his arms around Haku's shoulders. “I don't know if I trust Deidara completely, Minx, but I do trust you.” He kissed his boyfriend's temple. “Did you mean you wanted to put in your notice?”
Haku nodded. “I much prefer to spend my time learning your businesses and at your side than dealing with the general public here.”
Madara smirked. “I will miss getting blow jobs behind your desk.” He traced a finger down Haku's cheek. “Close your eyes, my Minx.” Haku closed his eyes. Madara reached into his pocket and smiled at the boy. He wasn't sure how this one had wormed into his heart, but he had. And to know that Haku wanted to be part of his empire, it was more than he had hoped for. Seeing as Haku had asked and he had proven himself in a turf fight, he'd gone out and gotten an engagement ring for his Minx. He slipped the ring from the box and slid it onto Haku's finger. “You've earned that ring you asked for,” he whispered.
Haku sighed happily. “Can I open my eyes and see it then?”
Madara chuckled. “Open your eyes, Minx.” He watched as Haku's eyes glittered as he took in the simple silver band. “I want you.”
Haku sniffled. “I'm so sorry I made a mistake, but I'm so happy you still want me.”
Madara leaned down and captured Haku's lips. A clearing throat behind them made Haku blush. Sakura stood tapping her foot. “I'll report you if you don't leave, Madara.” She glared at Haku.
Madara frowned and shook his head. “And what exactly will you tell them? My drug dealer decided to stop letting me suck his cock for blow?” He glared at the nurse who suddenly realized that just because he'd picked a lover didn't make Madara less of a crime boss. “Let me tell you something. You threaten me or Haku and I will make you disappear. No one will be able to find even a whiff of you.”
Sakura fled from the hallway as quickly as possible. Haku chuckled and kissed Madara. “You're welcome to stay with me if you want. I'll put in my notice in the morning.”
Madara smiled and kissed Haku back. “You'll still be my doctor, though, right? Naughty and nice?”
Haku tossed his head back and laughed. “Yes, I'll still be your doctor my Madabear.”
