Naruto dove into his second bowl of ramen noodles as his favorite pink haired ninja sipped her tea and picked at her own meal. Frustrated by her silence, he needled her a bit, “Sakura, are you going to tell me what’s on your mind, or do I have to play twenty questions with you?”
The medic sighed. The knucklehead knew her well. “It’s Sasuke.” She twirled another noodle around her chopstick idly, playing with her meal.
Naruto stiffened noticeably at the mention of their team mate. He laid his chopsticks aside briefly, patting Sakura’s back comfortingly as he spoke, “Sakura, please tell me. What’s going on with Sasuke?”
Like water through an open flood gate, Sakura spilled the story of her embarrassing encounters with the Uchiha, including him seeing her the morning after with Saizo. “So now, I’m at a complete loss. I mean, it’s not like Sasuke and I are officially a couple or anything. He has no right to be jealous. I mean… there’s no ring on my finger or anything.”
Setting into his third bowl of soup, Naruto chimed in, “Have you tried talking to Sasuke about all of this?”
“Naruto are you crazy? Do you even hear yourself? Talk to Sasuke?!?” Sakura caught herself as her emotions nearly ran away with her.
Naruto sighed, “Yes, Sakura, talk to Sasuke. Because that’s how people who care about each other work out problems.”
Sakura squirmed in her seat, “That’s easy for you to say, Naruto. You know how… quiet… Sasuke is. Spar with him? Any time. Joke around a bit? Sure. Have a serious talk? He shuts down. I shut down. It’s just awkward and it doesn’t work.”
“Sakura, ever since we were kids you’ve said you love Sasuke. And I’m not stupid. I see how he looks at you Sakura. He looks at you like a thirsty man in Suna eyeing a glass of ice water. But if you two want more that a school girl’s crush and hormonal lust, you’ve got to talk to each other.”
“I suppose you’re right, Naruto. It’s just… It’s just really hard.” Sakura managed a few more bites of her lunch as she thought about her friend’s words.
Naruto wiped his mouth as he considered his next words thoughtfully. This adulting thing was hard too. “Sakura… You know I love you and Sasuke like a brother and sister. You know I do, right?”
Sakura nodded, the severity in his voice garnering her rapt attention, “Of course, Naruto.”
“If you two really want to date and make a go of it, no one can stop you. But I think it’s unwise. I think neither of you really knows much about the other right now. You know who you were years ago, and both of you have been to your own hell and back. That’s a lot of emotional baggage to unpack. And it won’t work if all you do is jump in bed together at the drop of a hat.”
Sakura sighed. It wasn’t what she wanted to hear. “Yeah… I hear you, Naruto. But I just want him, you know?”
…
Hatake Kakashi took a deep breath, refusing to open his eyes yet as he felt the early morning rays of daybreak stream through his bedroom window. His sweet Sakura lay sleeping peacefully in his arms. This was now his favorite part of every day; waking up next to her. The sight of her sweet face mingled with her fruity, feminine scent stole another piece of his heart each morning. Knowing she felt safe in his arms meant the world to him. Knowing she’d never feel for him what he felt for her made his soul ache. But these precious moments at dawn showed him what life might be like if she did care for him too.
Sakura knew Kakashi was awake, but she found herself unwilling to relinquish the comfort of his strong arms just yet. In fact, she could be content if they spent the rest of the day without moving. She sighed wistfully, the brief change in her breath undoubtedly alerting him to her wakefulness. In sharp protest of the beckoning morning light, she pressed her back into Kakashi’s chest, purring at the feel of his arms tightening around her torso.
Kakashi kissed the top of her head softly as he spooned the kunoichi snugly. “Good morning, little flower.”
“Good morning, Kakashi.” She liked it when he called her ‘little flower’ even though she protested the diminutive nickname frequently. She’d never known Kakashi to use nicknames or terms of endearment, but then again, she’d never lived with the man before either. They understood each other on a deep, emotional level. He was her safe place. She rolled over in his arms, bringing her own hands around his torso, her face against his chest as he held her close.
He kissed the top of her head once more, “You know we have work, Sakura.” Yet he made no move to get out of bed himself.
Sakura simply buried her face in Kakashi’s lean, muscular chest, pouting, “I don’t want to get up yet.”
“I know, little flower.” He kissed her forehead lightly, then pushed her back to look in her eyes, “But it’s time to start the day.”
“Hmmmph!” She practically threw herself out of the bed, heading to her own room for clothes. “Don’t hog all the hot water, Kakashi.” She nearly slammed the door behind her in morning grumpiness.
Kakashi hopped to the shower quickly, thankful that Sakura left the room. His morning erections were becoming quite a bother. Sakura pretended not to notice, and of course they never acted inappropriate, but the truth was sleeping with a hot kunoichi produced certain natural reactions and the copy ninja just couldn’t help it. The fact that his ‘solution’ was jerking off to thoughts of the pink-haired medic in the shower only masked the symptoms of a deeper problem.
Kakashi was head over heals in love with this girl. He knew it was a bad idea. Having his former student as a roommate sleeping in his bed only served to intensify a deep longing he’d felt for some time. He couldn’t say exactly when or how it happened, but the quirky young genin he’d met years ago had become a strong, brilliant, sexy young woman and he’d noticed. On days when the sixth Hokage was being especially honest with himself, he’d even admit part of the reason he’d sent her on an extended reconnaissance mission was to give himself some space from her enticing body.
As the shower’s hot water hit his naked body, Kakashi found himself once again stroking his hard cock to thoughts of a beautiful pink haired girl and the perverted things he’d like to do with her flexible body. He knew how her body felt against his own, the smell of her scent still fresh in his mind. Just to be inside her, to hear her moan his name in the throes or passion… He felt his climax nearing as he pictured her in his mind’s eye arching her back and thrusting her hips as she called his name. He came hard, a small grunt escaping him as he stroked streams of thick cum onto the shower floor.
“Kakashi! Dammit! You are using all the hot water!” Sakura’s voice carried down the hall as the water turned lukewarm. He cleaned himself quickly, the cool water bracing him for the day ahead. He had to get her out of his head somehow. She deserved so much more than an old man with a scarred heart. He loved her far too much to weigh her down with his baggage.
…
A deep inner peace enveloped Sasuke as he practiced his skills at the throwing range. Something about the focus needed to hit every target every time freed him from himself. Even so, or perhaps because of his focus, he felt her presence the moment Sakura stepped through the door.
The pink haired vision smiled through sad eyes as she spoke, “Hello Sasuke. I knew I’d find you here.”
The Uchiha sighed as he paused his training, the sight of the beautiful kunoichi making his heart skip a beat. “Sakura. Why would you want to find me?”
The bitter tone of his words tore at her heart. Everything was too complicated. She didn’t want complicated and she had no idea how to untangle the web of half truths and tangled emotions between them. So much happened the last several years, but her heart still longed for this brooding, powerful man. “Sasuke… I don’t know what to say.”
“You came to talk, but you don’t know what to say?” Sasuke raised an eyebrow as his powerful eyes took in every detail of her. She wore open toed sandals even though her toes were still wrapped in bandages. Her pale, soft skin, kissed with the afternoon sunshine beckoned to be touched. The backless red sundress meant she had no bra, but her pert breasts gave no quarter beneath the surface of the fabric. Silky pink hair in a braid along the side of her face framed her features with an exotic beauty. Her eyes held longing for him; a peculiar mixture of regret and lust.
She sighed, “No… I don’t really want to talk.”
“You think I want to talk?” He queried.
Sakura shook her head. “No… Sasuke… What do you want?”
He smirked at her candor. “Sakura, I want you.”
His sultry eyes cut through her, a chill running up her spine at his obvious desire. “Then don’t talk. Take me, Sasuke.”
