While waiting for Tenzo to bring the others to the meeting room I decided to put my knowledge of The Gamer and various Gamer systems to use and I tried to develop the Observe skill, by observing the various people in the room. I noted that on the Shinobi side of things there were nothing but clan heads. I noted that they were Hiashi of the Hyuuga clan, Tsume of the Inuzuka clan, Asuma of the Sarutobi clan, Shikaku of the Nara clan, Inoichi of the Yamanaka clan, Choza of the Akimichi clan, Shibi of the Aburame clan, and Unkai of the Kurama clan. Their levels were nothing but question marks to me.
On the other side I saw old man Teuchi who was heading the restaurants, and the rest of them were random schmucks that headed general stores, ninja stores, banking, and parks. I did indeed gain the observe skill at level one. Nodding to myself slightly, I suddenly get a quest.

I hit yes before I looked up at Kushina who had her hands on my shoulders. “Kushi…” I started but she gave me a smile that chilled my bones. “Mom, I know the shadow clone jutsu,” I whispered quietly to her, “how do I utilize it,” I finished in the same hushed tone. She would go about telling me that I needed to imagine splitting my chakra in half and then splitting it into however many clones I wanted to create. I nodded before forming the familiar hand seal, I concentrated on what I wanted to do. “Shadow Clone Jutsu,” I muttered out before a singular clone formed next to me. We nodded to each other before the clone headed off to go practice the Jutsu, and having the clones it will summon to train in weapon throwing. I was hoping that this would be enough to help me defeat Sakura.
I had time before Tenzo brought the two genin and Kakashi to the meeting, hopefully the clones work fast. I knew I had a huge cheat in the form of them, hopefully it would be enough with my current stats. I was slightly worried I was only level one and I didn’t have any combat experience nor have I ever wielded weaponry. I knew that the clones would not go overboard and try and start on chakra control or trying out jutsu. I had a limited supply of chakra currently, and I knew that none of the clones that it would summon would be able to actually use jutsu themselves.
Hoping with all my might, I really hoped what I was thinking worked and that the clone I summoned would be able to summon ten copies. I needed it to be so. Hiruzen had opened his eyes when he felt the fluctuation of chakra before seeing a copy of myself walk out of the room. He closed his eyes once more and went back to his nap. We sat there in silence, I wanted to talk to Rin and my newfound parents in order to get to know them but I knew that I needed to stay quiet at Hiruzen’s command. I could see the astonishment on the faces of the experienced ninja in the room at me having enough chakra in order to summon a single shadow clone. I assumed that they were staying quiet in order to not disturb Hiruzen from his beauty sleep.
We had sat there in silence for a couple hours until Tenzo came back with the three people he had been sent to collect. His hair was disheveled as if he had a really hard time even trying to convince two of the genins’ parents to allow their child to be brought before the council. I almost wanted to snicker at him but I knew of the ghost face of Captain Yamato. I did not want to be subjected to it so I kept my face neutral and slightly bored but I would snicker about it when alone later. I wondered how long this meeting would go, I knew my clones were hard at work but I didn’t know how long they could maintain themselves while not expanding chakra. He had brought along Sakura, and her bully Ami.
Having sensed the four people entering the room, Hiruzen opened his eyes and sighed, he cleared his throat before speaking, “I summoned the council for this meeting and these individuals because of Naruto and I disappearing from my office earlier tonight. I do not want to keep us here any longer than I have to. I’ll get to the meat of the conversation, Naruto and I were kidnapped by one of the Gods. Before you say I’m crazy, Minato, and Kushina are alive. Kakashi and Hiashi confirm that it is indeed them and not Naruto convincing me to play one of his inane pranks on the council,” He spoke eloquently with a commanding voice.
Hiashi used his Byakugan and gasped while Kakashi turned to look at Minato and Kushina while raising his headband. He gasped as well, while tears started to form in his eyes. He wanted to go hug the three revived people badly. But he just wiped his eyes with one of his sleeves. I could tell that he was extremely happy that his family was back from the dead, but he would be frightened once mom got her talons into him.
“Hokage-sama, I have confirmed that they are indeed the Fourth Hokage, Kushina Uzumaki. But I noticed something strange in the chakra network of Naru…” Hiashi started before he snapped his head towards the trio of us, “Naruto Uzumaki is the child of Minato-sama, and Kushina isn’t he?”
Hiruzen nodded and said, “He is indeed I wanted to keep it a secret because of Iwa, and Kumo. They would’ve either killed or kidnapped the defenseless child of the Fourth, especially when said child was also the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi. What did you notice about his chakra network?”
“He has no chakra network, he is just a mass of chakra. Before tonight, he was still bursting at the seams with chakra, but he still had a chakra network. I noticed the same with the young woman that you brought in. May I give my observations,” he spoke while it looked like he was thinking.
“You may,” Hiruzen said, wanting to know if Hiashi could tell what had happened.
“While examining the four of them with my Byakugan, I confirmed that there is no genjutsu. Minato and Kushina were revived, only a God could do this. What you said about being kidnapped by a God is true. My thoughts on the matter is that this God revived the young woman, and is using the two of them for something. I don’t see any differences other than that,” Hiashi concluded his thoughts, not knowing how accurate they were.
“THAT’S ENOUGH I’VE WAITED LONG ENOUGH!!!! Kushina marched off towards Kakashi, who shrank into himself. Kushina’s hair was waving around herself in 9 tendrils, and her eyes were ghostly white. Hiruzen sighed and the clan heads chuckled while remembering how strong spirited Kushina was. Minato sighed before heading off to make sure his wife didn’t permanently hurt Kakashi or kill him.
Minato bowed to the council and left the room to follow his wife dragging Kakashi off by the back of his jounin flak jacket. Kakashi was kicking and screaming for mercy. As Minato was leaving, he turned back to the council, “I’ll inform Kakashi-kun about what this meeting is about while making sure Kushina doesn’t hurt him too badly,” he turned while running off.
I facepalmed slightly, this was my life now. I needed to try and not upset Ku… Mom, in order to keep whatever the hell that was happening to Kakashi from happening to me.
“Now that we have confirmed that Minato-kun, Kushina-kun, and Rin-kun are not some elaborate prank that Naruto had somehow convinced me to help him with. We were not the only ones kidnapped, as Hiashi-kun has surmised, all nine of the Jinchuuriki were kidnapped as well. Their Kages were also brought along and three others. The three that weren’t kage or jinchuuriki were members of an organization known as the Akatsuki, they wanted to capture the jinchuuriki to combine the Bijuu into some sort of super weapon. The God, Diomedes, warned them not to try to do it until either he allows it or not at all,” Hiruzen started explaining what had happened during this impromptu Kage Summit. He held up a hand to say he was still talking, before lighting up his pipe and took a long draw from it.
The elderly Hokage closed his eyes while thinking about how to best explain his next statements to the council and how he was essentially ordering two children to sacrifice themselves in order to help the village. He knew that they currently did not have any war deterrent, and that Naruto’s generation had the most potential he had ever seen in a single generation, but for not it wasn’t enough. He had Orochimaru, and the other villages to worry about. Hiruzen was old, he was in his late sixties, he had been Hokage for over 40 years, with a brief 3 year break while Minato was Hokage. I didn’t know what he was thinking, but I could surmise that he felt old, which he was.
“Umm… Hokage-sama, sir?” Sakura spoke up while being tense. “Why were Ami and I brought here? Shouldn’t we not know any of this?”
He had opened his eyes before looking at the pink haired genin with slight sadness. “The reason why the two of you were brought here is because Diomedes ordered the nine Jinchuuriki, who are the prisons of the various Bijuu, to play what he called a game. It is a sick and vile thing that he is forcing the nine of them into,” Hiruzen continued his explanation with a frown and slight anger in his voice. “The Jinchuuriki are being forced into a competition against each other, where they are to gain strength by eating humans before fighting for the right to eat the defeated Jinchuuriki. He was not kind enough to provide an example of what this entails. Diomedes, also made it more of a ‘game’,” Hiruzen did air quotes while saying game. “I do not know how to show the council the illusion he showed us.” He finished the next part of the explanation before turning to me.
“Diomedes said that you were supposed to help Naruto in this game. I don’t blame you for destroying Naruto’s soul because of your confusion and fear. Do you have a way to show the council that status screen,” He asked me, while inhaling from his pipe.
“I potentially do Hokage-sama. I need to experiment with it before I show the council,” I say while thinking about it for a bit. “I wonder if there is a party system,” I brought a hand to my chin in a thinking manner. “Invite Hiruzen Sarutobi?” I asked and looked over at Hiruzen, I did not see a screen pop in front of him. “That didn’t work, maybe I need to create the party before I send out invites,” I muttered.
“Form Party, no… Create Party,” I said and a screen appeared in front of me. I smiled before typing in the party name of, Konoha Council Meeting. I sent invites out to everyone currently in the meeting, Minato, Kushina, and Kakashi.. “Please press the accept button or think yes,” I told them before noting that I could not invite Rin to the party. I wondered if that was because she was a Jinchuuriki and we couldn’t form parties with each other. Everyone pressed the yes key after Hiashi confirmed that it was not a genjutsu by using the Byakugan. “Unfortunately, I think Jinchuuriki cannot form a party with each other,” I said while looking through the party menus.
“There are several options available, however one of them is grayed out because I surmise that the shinobi in the shinobi side of the council are too strong for experience sharing. I think this is a way to prevent explosive growth in the Jinchuuriki by having their Jounin sensei to do all the fighting in dungeons while allowing us to eat defeated enemies.” I guessed at this, “But there are several options that will benefit shinobi teams. Rin and I will need to be on separate teams in order to benefit fully from this. The first option is party chat. Let me enable it so we can try it out,” I said while turning it on before thinking, ‘Hello, can everyone hear me?’
I watched their expressions, they were shocked that they could hear me in their minds. “Good, so that is how that works. Soundless, Wireless communication without the Yamanaka linking minds together. The other options are loot sharing, and experience sharing. You should also be able to benefit from the system. Try saying or thinking status, I’ll turn off Party chat so you can privately go through your statuses. Know that everything in them is the work of Diomedes and his thoughts on you. All I could see when I gained a skill called Observe was your Name. Everything else is a bunch of question marks. At level 1, Observe gives me the ability to see your Name, Level, Max HP or Health Points, Max CP or Chakra Points, and Potential SP Acquired. Anyone who is over 40 levels above me is a bunch of question marks,” I explained the skill. “I’ve gained 20 experience points towards leveling it up since I’ve gained it. I have observed everyone outside of the Anbu since I gained it. I think outside of combat, skills gain experience slowly.” I finished my explanation while turning off Party Chat. I still didn’t explain what my clone was doing, nor about the quest I had received. I could see Sakura’s stats and I compared them to my own. “Rin in order to gain this skill, look at everyone and observe them, who they are, try to gauge their power in comparison to your own.” She nodded, before looking at everyone in order to try and gain this skill. I did not say that anyone who wasn’t a jinchuuriki could potentially gain skills in this fashion. It was just easier for us who had the system.
“However I think I know of a way for us to gain skills quickly without having to train to acquire them. May I see a scroll for a wind jutsu that won’t be missed?” I say while planning on gaining a C-ranked ninjutsu before having to fight Sakura. Hiruzen nodded before asking for a scroll and writing kit.
“I’ll transcribe Wind Release: Gale Palm onto a scroll. I would like to observe this if you don’t mind,” he said while writing down everything he knew about the jutsu onto the scroll.
Hiruzen, after furling the scroll, tossed it to me. I caught the scroll and a window opened in front of me asking if I wanted to learn the jutsu contained within. Nodding with a wide smile I accepted to learn the jutsu. the scroll burned in a green fire before the ethereal ashes entered my body.
A couple more windows opened in front of me confirming that I did indeed learn the jutsu and that I had a natural wind element. I looked over at Danzo and Asuma before asking. “Could I get tutoring in the wind element from one of you, Asuma-sama, Danzo-sama? I have a natural wind affinity.”
Hiruzen’s eyes widened before asking his son to tutor me for the wind element. Asuma sighed before agreeing. I could see the gears turning inside of Hiruzen’s head. “I have some changes for genin training I would like to implement this year starting with our rookies. This entails joint team training, where all of our jounin sensei teach their specialties to the genin. Well to the teams that pass the secondary tests. We’ll discuss this at another meeting when we’re all fully rested. However, after this I intend on reinstating Minato as the Hokage so I may retire. This means I’ll be taking the Sarutobi seat.”
The council nodded along with this. Sakura spoke up after this, “Hokage-same, I think I misheard you earlier. Did you say that the jinchuuriki gained strength by eating people?” Her face showed more than a moderate amount of fear and disgust. It appeared like she had put two and two together. Hiruzen sighed while I watched this. I wondered how he would go about trying to convince her and Ami. My quest did say they were unwilling and that I had to subdue them, or at the very least Sakura was unwilling. I had an offensive jutsu that I could use only once due to my current reserves. I needed to train it but I couldn’t use shadow clones for it. While I was thinking, Sakura continued to speak, “Did you bring us here so t-t-they can e-e-eat us?” She backed away slightly with a greater look of fear on her face as if not believing that the Hokage of all people would sacrifice one of their ninja to complete an objective.
“Sakura-kun, I apologize for this. As a Hokage, I need to think about everyone in Konoha, not just one or two people. A Jinchuuriki’s main job is that of a war deterrent. This council has done Konoha a great disservice by not training Naruto. Diomedes said that Naruto was the weakest Jinchuuriki, even though he wasn’t the youngest. I do not want to see my home destroyed, nor do I want to do this. If Diomedes never appeared, this would not have ever happened in the first place. I do hope you’d forgive my weakness, no one can stand up in the face of a god. If I had to choose you or me or anyone else for that matter, I would choose me every time,” Hiruzen appeared like he aged over ten years in this exchange. “Even though I am retiring as Hokage, my wisdom is still required by the next generation. I’ve led Konoha through two wars and the longest time of peace between them of twenty years between the second and third wars. As Hokage, there is always the possibility that I’m sending my ninja to gruesome deaths, being defeated in combat and used as breeding stock for any special abilities they may have. This is why I let the Hyuuga Clan continue to use their seal, and why I encourage them every day to ask me, Jiraiya, or now Minato to design a new seal for them.” Hiruzen finished while slumping down in his chair.
I couldn’t help but pity him for this job. “I sent my own son, and his wife on a mission where all I got back was a scarf that my daughter in law wore constantly, a scarf that my grandson wears,” he continued with tears in his eyes. He aged twenty more years in that last part. He pulled out a handkerchief and coughed into it harshly. “All I can promise is that your parents will receive a payment for an S-ranked mission, and that you’ll be promoted to Jounin posthumously,” He finished before putting the now very bloody handkerchief back into a pocket. “I do not know if my ailment would affect Naruto or Rin. I dare not risk the safety of Konoha by offering myself to either of them.” He finished before slumping down. Hiashi rushed over to Hiruzen with hands glowing green. It appeared as though Hiruzen’s health was declining.
“I REFUSE TO BE EATEN BY THE DEAD LAST!!” Sakura suddenly shouted out, with Ami nodding along with her shout. Danzo raised his hand and Anbu appeared around both Sakura and Ami.
“I apologize girl, but you will feed yourself to one of them. Our Hokage has spoken. We’ll allow you 24 hours to reflect upon your life, and if you still refuse you will fight Naruto, and he will win,” Danzo said while standing. “Boy, you sent your clone off to train in different techniques for you. Continue doing that and don’t exhaust yourself. Ask your mother for help with the Kyuubi. I pronounce this meeting over. Anbu, take the girls to a holding cell for their fight. Feed them a final meal of their choosing,” Danzo finished before slamming his cane on the ground.
