Naruto woke up to Sasuke kicking and making small, choked whimpering sounds. He quickly tried to wake his friend. “Sasuke! Wake up! Sasuke!!”
Sasuke jerked awake, tears falling down his face. His breathing was heavy and fast and his eyes were wide. Once he calmed down a bit he curled into a ball and sobbed. Naruto sighed and gently ran his fingers through the raven’s hair. This seemed to calm him back into a sleep. Tears were falling down Naruto’s face now. What had happened to his friend?

Later that day, while they were having lunch on the couch, Naruto looked at Sasuke. “Hey...so um...you okay? I mean you had a really bad nightmare last night.”
Sasuke stopped eating and looked down a for a bit. It seemed almost like he wasn’t going to answer. He placed his dish on the table and picked up his writing pad.
“I don’t want to talk about it. What do you do for work?”
Naruto sighed but gave a smile. “I’m a teacher. I teach middle school. It’s actually pretty fun and all my students really like me.”
Sasuke looked up at him and could once again see the sun shining in this man’s smile. It made sense that the angel would be a teacher. He nodded and after a slight pause he wrote,
“Am I keeping you from your job?”
Naruto shook his head. “Nah. It’s spring break. I don’t have to actually go to the school til...” He thought about it and scratched the back of his head. “Well I guess Monday. Today’s Friday so we have the weekend to help get you settled.” He looked at the other, worry in his eyes. “Will you be alright here alone though? I’ll lock the door so that no one can get in and I’ll make you something to eat for whenever you get hungry.” His blue eyes widened as he saw a smile.
“I’ll be fine. I feel safe here.”
Naruto smiled at that. “Okay then. Well, how about once we finish lunch we go out and get you some new clothes? Then we can get some groceries too. I bet you’ll still love tomatoes.”
Sasuke blinked at that. He liked tomatoes? He couldn’t even remember what that tasted like. But if his angel said he would like it then he believed him. He’d also definitely appreciate some clothes that fit and suit him better.
“That sounds good. Will we drive or walk?”
The blond thought about it for a second. “Well. Since we’ll be buying things it’ll probably be good to drive. We can do a public parking and walk around. If needed we can always drop things off at the car.” He watched Sasuke nod at that. It was starting to feel like it used to.
The drive to the mall was quiet but comfortable. Naruto had let Sasuke pick a radio station but after not finding one he simply turned it off. The parking wasn’t too bad so they found a rather decent spot near the entrance. Once inside Sasuke made a face that said he was already annoyed.
Naruto laughed a bit at that and then explained when the raven raised a brow in question. “You’ve never liked coming to the mall. You used to say there are too many people focused on material items here.”
Sasuke paused as he thought about that. “I’ve been to a mall before. Possibly this mall. Is that why I immediately felt annoyed?” Things felt like they were complicated. But he merely shook his head to clear it of thoughts and followed his angel through the mall and to a clothing store.
“We usually got our clothes here so they should still have some that fit your style.” He paused and looked back at Sasuke. “You probably don’t remember your style do you.” At the nod his smile looked just a tad forced. “Well, don’t worry. I remember it perfectly!”
Sasuke gave the blond a small smile at that. Of course the angel knows his style. He knows so much already that it’s not a surprise.
They went through the store and Naruto did indeed help Sasuke pick clothes that really did look good on him. Every once in a while Sasuke would hesitantly decline an offer and each time Naruto praised him for making that choice. It made the raven feel warm at hearing he obeyed correctly. He didn’t remember ever getting praised from his previous master so this was a very nice change.
When finished they decided to just head out. It looked like Sasuke was ready to leave anyway. But as they headed to the exit, Sasuke saw someone walk out of a store with books. He paused, a want blooming. He wasn’t used to wanting and to be told it’s okay to want. He frowned as an internal struggle began to grow.
Naruto noticed his stillness and frowned. “Hey. You okay?” He noticed where the other was looking and glanced over. He smiled at that. “You want to get some books?” When the raven hesitantly nodded Naruto understood. Sasuke wanted some books but felt horrible for wanting anything. “That’s a good idea. It’ll give you something to do while I’m at work.” Phrasing it like that might make it easier for Sasuke to accept.
He was rewarded with a smile. “let’s go then.” Naruto walked the other over to the store. They went in and he could tell immediately that Sasuke had a strange mix of emotions. It looked like he was happy, nervous, and a bit overwhelmed. So, he smiled and took Sasuke’s free hand. “Hey. I’ll help you pick something. We didn’t have the same tastes for reading but I remember what you liked.”
Sasuke nodded and followed Naruto through the store. They picked five books, each one was found by Naruto but Sasuke was the one who read the back and decided whether he wanted it. When they finally left Naruto grinned at him.
“That was amazing Sasuke. I knew you could do it.”
Sasuke nodded again, a slight blush on pale cheeks. His angel made him feel like a person. It was nice but confusing. It felt somewhat…wrong. But he enjoyed seeing his angel have that sunshine smile just because he chose a few books.
After they left the mall they headed to get groceries. That also seemed to go well with Sasuke pushing the cart. Though Naruto didn’t miss the tense posture. He only got enough groceries for a few small dishes. He’ll go shopping for real another time. Sasuke only relaxed once they were back in the car.
On the drive home Naruto glanced over at some point and saw Sasuke looking down at one of the books, lightly touching it with a small smile. The blond smiled back before he turned his attention back to the road, happy that Sasuke seems happy. “He definitely deserves happiness.”
They arrived home and once everything was put away Naruto turned to Sasuke. “So, are you hungry?”
Sasuke shrugged and waved his hand in a so-so gesture.
Naruto thought about it. “How about a salad? I doubt I can mess that up. Also we can have you eat tomatoes again.” He was positive it will actually help Sasuke feel better.
The raven nodded and went with him to the kitchen. He watched him make the salad, trying to remember the process so he could do it later when Naruto goes back to work. It was definitely easy to make so that’s a bonus. Once the bowls were made they took it into the living room to eat.
Naruto watched Sasuke, waiting to see if he liked it.
Sasuke got a good forkful which involved tomatoes and put it in his mouth. It tasted amazing! His mind brought up a sense of déjà vu at the taste which actually made him feel a bit peaceful. It meant he has indeed eaten it before.
The blond grinned at the expression before eating as well. When they were almost done he spoke up again. “I just realized. Have you showered?”
Sasuke raised a brow and got his pad.
“I don’t remember the last time I showered. I would be given water, soap, and a cloth to wash with.”
Naruto didn’t let the shot of sadness that went through him show. “Well, do you want to have one? You can take a shower and then change into your new clothes. I bet you’ll feel better. While you do that I’ll get some extra work done.” He smiled. “Go on. Towels are in the closet next to the bathroom. You can just use my stuff.”
He slowly nodded and stood, picking his dish up and taking it to the kitchen. He then went upstairs and to the guest room. After some thought he picked out an outfit and then got a towel before he went into the bathroom. It was so strange how normal this all felt.

About 45 minutes later Sasuke came downstairs in a dark blue t-shirt and a pair of loose black pants, towel drying his hair. He did in fact feel much better.
Naruto looked up from laptop and smiled. “Awesome. Bet that was nice huh?” He chuckled at the nod. “That’s good. So you wanna do anything specific now?”
After some thought he picked up his pad.
“I want to read.”
That made Naruto’s smile widen. “Sure thing. You wanna read in here?” When Sasuke nodded Naruto moved over on the couch a bit. “Sounds good. Go get the book. I can do some more work.”
Sasuke nodded again and got one of his new books, coming back and curling up on the couch. Again he was astounded by how normal this feels and yet it was slightly an uncomfortable feeling. It was as if he wasn’t just a thing. And yet that’s all he knew. He shook his head to clear it of unwanted thoughts and focused on the words in front of him.

The weekend went rather smoothly. There were a few panic attacks and moments where Naruto wasn’t too sure how to help. But when Monday came, they both seemed confident it would continue to go smoothly. Unfortunately, Naruto came back to see Sasuke curled up in a ball in the corner of the living room, sobbing. Naruto quickly ran up to him but when he tried to cuddle and comfort him...Sasuke had an even bigger panic attack and actually kicked him.
After a few hours with Naruto sitting in the room the raven calmed down. But once he realized he had kicked his angel he started crying again. Now he would never get into heaven!
Naruto looked up from his computer and slowly approached him. “Hey Sasuke. You doing a bit better?”
Sasuke slowly nodded with a sniffle. He couldn’t look at the angel...he was too ashamed.
Naruto knelt next to him. “Hey. It’s okay. I don’t care that you kicked me. I shouldn’t have tried to approach you like I did. I’m here for you though.”
He looked up, eyes shining with tears and with wonder. He was forgiven?
The blond slowly pulled him close and ran fingers through his hair. “Calm down Sas. I’ll always be here for you. I’m your Naruto after all.” He kissed his head. After a few moments once Sasuke was calm he asked in a soft voice, “Can you tell me what happened?” When he got a nod he handed the raven his pad and pen.
“I was reading and fell asleep. I had a nightmare and when I woke up I forgot where you were.” He hesitated before continuing to write. “I thought you left me.”
He really should have seen this coming. But now wasn’t the time to think about it. “Good job. Thank you for telling me.” He saw that glimmer of pride again. “So...do you want me to stay home with you?”
Sasuke shook his head. “Today was an accident. I’ll be fine.”
Of course, Naruto didn’t believe him. “Well, I do have some vacation time I need to use. I’ll use it and help you. You really shouldn’t be alone.” Naruto nodded and called his job saying he had to take vacation time. They agreed and were fine with it, mainly because Naruto had never used his vacation time. He loved his job too much to take a break from it. “And it’s done!”
Sasuke gave a small smile which made Naruto fill with warmth.
“Thank you.”

That night, Sasuke walked in and saw the angel sleeping. ‘I have to thank him. He’s given up so much for trash like me...’ He walked over silently and slowly moved the blanket off the blond. He bit his lip at seeing the man only in boxers. He could do this. He would thank him by giving him pleasure and he would make sure that he didn’t show any emotion. ‘If the angel ever found out I’m a slut...I’ll never get into heaven...I’ll be tossed aside again.’
He swallowed and took a deep breath as he carefully removed Naruto’s boxers. Thankfully, the man seemed to be a rather heavy sleeper. Sasuke blushed at seeing the half hard penis resting in a nest of gold. He moved between Naruto’s legs and began licking at the shaft. The man groaned a bit in his sleep but didn’t wake up. Once it was fully hard Sasuke began to deep throat him. He could do this. He could do this!
Naruto moaned and shuddered. He was having such a wonderful dream and it felt so real! He then frowned. It was too real. His eyes opened and quickly widened. “Sasuke?!” The raven froze and his head shot up as he looked into wide, horrified eyes. “What are you doing?”
Sasuke felt panic fill him. Wasn’t the angel enjoying it? Did he do something wrong?
Complete shock ran through Naruto’s system at this, but he tried to remain calm. He could see the anxiety growing quickly. “You need to stop, Sasuke.”
Sasuke was now filled with confusion and the panic rose further causing his vision to blur just slightly. He quickly got up and stood by the bed, looking at the ground.
Naruto shifted, which was rather uncomfortable with an erection. “Sasuke. I said we weren’t going to do this until you’re ready. Remember?”
The raven flinched a little. That was it...he broke the rule about no sex...and now the angel would know that he was a slutty filthy horrid piece of trash. He tried not to cry. That always upset the angel. But he couldn’t stop his shaking.
Naruto stood and slowly reached out for Sasuke. “Hey...”
Sasuke quickly stepped away; certain he was going to be hit. ‘I should leave...it’ll hurt too much when he throws me out...how could I even think I would be worthy of a chance for heaven?’ He ran from the room, through the apartment, and outside. He could no longer stop the tears. ‘It was all a test. I bet Sasuke isn’t my real name. It was all a test to see if I would believe and fall for any guy. I really am a slut...’ But even as he said that he could stop the feeling that Naruto had actually loved him and that he loved Naruto back.
Sasuke ran into an alleyway and sat on the ground. ‘I should die...’ He looked at a piece of broken glass. He took it in hand before looking at his bare wrist. Without further thought he began to cut.

Whispering and the sound of beeping came to Sasuke. His eyes slowly opened but he quickly closed them when the brightness of the room came. The whispering stopped. Then Naruto’s voice came to him.
“Sasuke. Are you awake?”
Coal black eyes opened and looked at the blond. Such sorrow and pain filled them.
Naruto sighed with relief and sat next to him. “You scared me Sasuke.”
Sasuke blinked at the male before looking away. He couldn’t stand that gaze. Maybe he wasn’t on his way to Heaven. Maybe this was Hell. Having to try to please someone that made it impossible to do so. He lifted an arm and looked at the bandages on his wrist. Yes, it had to be Hell. Otherwise he would have died.
He looked back at the man who seemed to care so much about him. But if he was in Hell...then why was this angel here. Because no matter how he looked at it, this man was an angel. One of his bandaged arms lifted to rest a hand against those whiskered cheeks.
Naruto smiled and leaned into the touch. “I’m sorry that I scared you before Sasuke. I was just shocked. I don’t want you to force yourself to do anything just because you think it will please me.” He kissed the wrist that had been covered in blood when he found him. “I think we need to get some help...I can’t do this on my own, but I refuse to give up on you.” He locked eyes with the man. “Believe it!”
A smile came through. He believed him. How could he not?
