Kakashi flexed his fingers. "Mah, it was worth a try."
"You haven't changed at all since I was a child. have you?" Sasuke asked. The bitterness that Kakashi expected was absent, but so was any other emotion. If anything he seemed tired.
"Of course I've changed," Kakashi said. "It's been over 10 years."
"I found the same book in your pack. It's not even a new book in the series. It's the exact. Same. Book."
"I've read other books. That one is just my favorite. I'll lend it to you if you want to read it."
Sasuke leaned closer to Kakashi, who was suddenly very aware that even if he wasn't paralyzed he had no weapons, and he didn't even have clothes except for a hospital gown someone had put on him at some point.
"You're in some trouble. You know that, right?" Sasuke asked.
"I've noticed," Kakashi said.
"What do you have to say about it?" Sasuke asked.
"I just woke up," Kakashi said. "I haven't thought it through."
"I have," Sasuke said. "I know a nurse that thinks I'm in love with her, and she's been working on you. She said she needed to wait until you woke up to do anything more, but after that..."
Sasuke trailed off and looked out the window toward the distant hills. "After that you and I are going to have a long talk about the future - and the past."
The odd look Sasuke gave him made Kakashi's skin crawl.
"I'll call the matron, and get her to call Kitty"
"Kitty?" Kakashi asked.
"The nurse," Sasuke said. "She's very talented, but unstable. Don't make her angry."
Sasuke pushed a button, and the old woman almost immediately returned.
"Call Kitty," Sasuke said. "Tell her that her patient is awake and I want her up here now."
The woman bowed. "Yes, Sasuke-sama."
"They respect you here," Kakashi said. His mind raced looking for ways to gain the upper hand in the conversation.
"They respect my money," Sasuke said, "and my power. They don't know anything about me."
"Have you never learned to let anyone close to you?" Kakashi asked.
"Not since Team 7. Whatever happened to Naruto and Sakura?"
"Naruto married Hinata. They have two children."
"I don't remember a girl named Hinata."
"She doesn't stand out," Kakashi said. "She's a good kunoichi. Just quiet."
"And Sakura?" Sasuke asked.
"She's been the Hokage since Tsunade-sama died two months ago."
"So long ago," Sasuke muttered. "And what do I have to show for it all? Money, some peasants who love me for my skills, and a dead son I never even knew."
"You had a son?" Kakashi asked.
"I found out about him earlier this year," Sasuke said, "but I was only told because he was killed. The woman didn't want me to know, but after he died she decided to tell me. I wish she hadn't. It's all I can think about now."
That's why he's acting so odd, Kakashi thought.
"I've been thinking about other things too. I guess," Sasuke said, "but the boy dominates my thoughts and dreams."
Kakashi had no idea what to say, so he listened.
"You probably have questions," Sasuke said.
"More than a few," Kakashi said. "To begin with, why did you bring me here?"
"I was bored " Sasuke said, "and it's been so long since I met anyone that was my equal that I wanted some time with you - to reminisce."
"And the whorehouse?"
"The village is too small to have a hospital, and the local hotel is filthy. And Kitty works here. That's her hospital gown. I don't know why she has it. She has a lot of medical things."
"Your medic is a whore?" Kakashi asked.
"She prefers the term rent-girl. I don't even know if Kitty is her real name, or why she isn't a ninja anymore. I just know that she has skills that I need, and that I don't have to worry about betrayal from her."
He sighed. "But still, she has half the talent of Sakura, and she's dangerous. I'm guessing that she did something bad enough to make her leave her village and whoring is easy work to get."
At that moment a knock on the door and a perky voice interrupted them. "Sasuke-sama, I'm here," came a young voice in the corridor. Kakashi thought she sounded about 20, at the oldest. She giggled like a young girl.
"Ignore her crazy routine. She's an accomplished medic. That's all you need to be concerned with."
"Sasuke-sama," Kitty said in a pouty voice that made Kakashi cringe. "Won't you let your little Kitty-kun in?"
Sasuke groaned and went to the door. "Couldn't you just once have the smallest amount of dignity?" he asked.
She giggled. "I think Mr. Grumpy needs some smile medicine." She leaned forward as if to kiss him, but Sasuke leaned away and said, "just do what I paid you for."
She put her hands behind her back and pursed her lips together in a pout. "Ok, Cranky-sama."
She leaned over Kakashi, giving him an ample view of cleavage. She was thin and pale skinned in the extreme, and Kakashi thought she might even be using powder to achieve that unnatural corpse-like hue. Her long blonde hair had a pink streak, and she had tied it in a ponytail.
She was wearing a very short white skirt and a tight white halter-top with a bright red cross stretched across her breasts.
"Ah, are you really a medic?" Kakashi asked.
She giggled. "Sasuke-sama, he thinks this is silly. Don't you, lost ninja?"
The smile left her face and she leaned close to Kakashi. "Well, it isn't!" she screamed. "Take me seriously!"
Then she smiled again. "Ok. Let's begin your treatment, shall we?"
Kakashi looked at Sasuke, who nodded.
"I've been working on your nervous system," she said, "but I need to do more work while you're awake. In time I can have you back to full function."
"You can heal a broken back?" Kakashi asked.
"Don't be ridiculous," she said. "You can. I'm just going to teach your body how. All I need you to do for now is to tell me when you feel anything."
They turned him over, and he could see Season's face as Kitty worked and hummed to herself.
"Anything yet?" Sasuke asked, and Kakashi thought he looked worried.
The bed jolted under him.
"What was that?" Sasuke asked. "What just happened?"
"His nerves in his legs are reacting," Kitty said. "It's good."
Kakashi felt the slightest tingle in his toes and told them so.
"Good. Good," Kitty muttered. "I can work with that."
After a few more minutes she stopped. "That's all for today. Tomorrow we can begin again, but for now your body has absorbed all the chakra it can."
"But you barely did anything!" Sasuke said.
She had been smiling at Kakashi, an absent, wide eyed and glassy smile. Drugs? He wasn't sure.
Kitty's head snapped upward toward Season's. "Do you doubt me then?" she asked, quietly. "Have I ever failed you before, Sasuke-sama?" she asked louder. "HAVE I?" she screamed.
"Of course not," Sasuke said. "Tomorrow it is then."
She helped Sasuke turn Kakashi onto his back, and then she giggled and kissed Sasuke on the cheek, which he allowed with reluctance that anyone would have noticed that wasn't Kitty. She skipped out of the room.
"Anything?" Sasuke asked.
"I can feel just a bit in my toes," Kakashi said. He tried to wiggle them. "Are they moving?"
"No," Sasuke said. "Not yet."
The feeling left his toes. "We'll just have to wait," Kakashi said. "Why are you doing this?"
Sasuke looked away, avoiding his eyes. "Does it matter?" he asked.
"Yes."
"I have a few errands to run," Sasuke said. "I'll come by tomorrow and visit." He turned and left abruptly.
"Wait!" Kakashi called after him, but it was too late.
The room might have been nicer than a hospital, but it was every bit as lonely and boring. The old woman came by once at dusk, gave him food - hard cheese and good brown bread, and left. If she was curious at all she didn't show it.
The next day a young woman with too much makeup and bangles that clanked loudly cared for him. She had the same detached air as the old woman, and he could see features that would change with old age and use to resemble her.
"Your mother is the matron?" he asked.
"Yes," she said as she took a bedpan.
He looked away, staring at a spot on the ceiling, embarrassed even though he couldn't feel what she was doing. It shouldn't bother him that she was cleaning him - whores certainly saw much worse - but somehow it seemed more vulnerable than when a nurse did it, and that had been bad enough. Those times when he'd had chakra depletion that had left him unable to move were humiliating, but this was so much worse
He heard the splash of water in a basin and the sound of a wet cloth being wrung out.
"I see everything still works ok," the girl said.
He looked down and saw that as she had washed him he had become erect.
"You're a big one, aren't you?" she asked, and she smiled for the first time. "Do you want me to take care of that? Sasuke-sama is paying us well to look after you."
"I can't feel anything down there," he said, "so, ah, no."
"More's the pity," she said. "Kitty will fix you up if anyone can." She winked at him. "Just let me know when you can feel anything." She gave his erection an affectionate squeeze before pulling his gown back on and covering him with a blanket.
Kitty came back, bringing Sasuke with her, but thankfully enough time had passed since his bath that his erection had withered.
I probably have the worst case of blue balls in history. I am glad I can't feel that.
Kitty worked on him, and again he felt a bit of sensation in his toes, and again it faded. He thought it was stronger, but he wasn't sure.
She didn't have any bizarre outbursts, but Kakashi was wary of her.
After she left Sasuke sat on the edge of the bed. Kakashi hated when people did that when he'd been in the hospital. It had always seemed too intimate, but he didn't say anything that might anger Sasuke.
No sense antagonizing him when I can't defend myself, he thought.
"Well?" Sasuke asked.
"Same as yesterday," Kakashi said. "Why are you interested?"
Sasuke closed his eyes, bent over, and kissed Kakashi. He opened his eyes and held eye contact with Kakashi as he undressed.
"What?" Kakashi asked. "Stop. Sasuke, I'm not..."
He stopped before he said, "not interested." He needed to get out of this situation, and it wasn't anything other ninjas that he knew hadn't dealt with.
As Sasuke revealed a chest rippling with muscles, Kakashi hoped that he would be suddenly to embarrassed to continue, but when he locked the door and pulled the blinds Kakashi knew he planned to follow through.
"Not what?" Sasuke asked as he dropped his pants, revealing a full, ready erection.
It isn't like I'll even be able to feel it, Kakashi thought. I can do this.
"I won't even be able to move."
Sasuke turned off the light and crawled onto the bed. He pulled off Kakashi's gown and began to handle his soft member. "That's ok," he said. "I can position you how I want you."
He leaned down and kissed Kakashi while he fondled him, and when he leaned back Kakashi looked down to see that Sasuke' manipulation had made him hard. Sasuke sat on him, and both of their erections rubbed against each other.
Repugnance overcame him. "I don't want this," he said. "Get off me."
Sasuke reached down and picked up his pants, pulling a tube of lube out of his pocket before tossing the pants on the ground again.
"This is going to be good," he said, and Kakashi realized that lust was the first emotion he'd seen on Sasuke face.
When Sasuke squirted a thick stream of lube onto his finger Kakashi closed his eyes.
"Don't...don't do this," he stammered.
I'll just wait until it's over, gaining an advantage over him now that I know he wants this. I just hope he gets tired of fucking me before I get feeling back permanently.
For a couple of minutes all he heard were the messy sounds of lubed fingers penetrating and then stretching his asshole, or so he thought. When the sound stopped and the bedsprings started squeaking he opened his eyes and was surprised at what he saw.
Sasuke had been stretching himself. Kakashi had expected to see that Sasuke had pulled his legs over his shoulders and was busy penetrating him, but instead he saw Sasuke on top of him, grinding himself down again and again on Kakashi's erection. His eyes were closed, and his teeth were clenched as he moved faster, taking in Kakashi's entire length every time.
That looks painful, Kakashi thought, just before Sasuke grunted and held himself against him, rocking slowly as he sprayed Kakashi's stomach with his ejaculation.
When Sasuke opened his eyes the lust was gone, replaced once again by dead eyes.
"It wasn't what I thought it would be," he said.
Kakashi looked down at Sasuke' cum on his stomach.
"You managed to get off even though I told you to stop," he said angrily.
Sasuke eyes searched his own. "Somehow I always thought there would be more."
"Wait. You've been thinking about this for a long time?" Kakashi asked.
"Since I was a kid," Sasuke said. "I used to think about you and Naruto and Sakura, and I imagined that you weren't cruel to them like Orochimaru was to me, that you probably tried not to hurt them when you made them pleasure you. Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Orochimaru molested you?" Kakashi asked.
Sasuke shrugged. "He was my teacher."
"And you think that I..." he stopped, not willing to believe what Sasuke was suggesting. "I never touched either of them like that!" he said. "That's not what teachers do."
Sasuke's face locked down, any trace of emotion gone. He pulled off of Kakashi, who saw that he was still hard. Sasuke hadn't bothered or cared about his orgasm as long as he got one.
Sasuke lay next to him on the bed. "Was your teacher kind to you when he used you?" he asked.
"My teacher never touched me!" Kakashi said.
Sasuke sat up and studied Kakashi's face. "You're telling the truth," he said. He stood up, used the shower, dressed silently, and left.
As he was opening the door he looked back and said, "I'll see you tomorrow."
The old woman had a full set of Icha-Icha novels that she was glad to lend him after finding a fellow fan. Her rocky face lit up as they chatted about the romance in the first book, and when Sasuke came to visit they were still chatting.
She stood and bowed. " Sasuke-sama. It is good to see you again."
She was completely formal, as she had been before she discovered a fellow smut fan..
"And you," Sasuke said.
When she left Sasuke sat on the bed again. "I don't know how you managed to charm that one. I've never seem her so much as smile."
Kakashi had given a lot of thought into how to deal with Sasuke. Now that I know he won't take no for an answer I have to be even more careful around him. Keep it casual.
He held up the book. "A fellow fan," he said. He judged Sasuke's attitude toward him, but if he didn't have the memory of the night before he never would have believed that he was looking at the same man who had used his body to impale himself.
He locked the doors and closed the blinds. Not again, Kakashi thought.
"You should probably let your body heal first," Kakashi said. "You were really rough on yourself last night, and I don't want to do that again, anyway. I didn't the first time."
"I just want to talk," Sasuke said. "I spent the night thinking. Do they still remember me in Konoha as anything but a traitor?"
"Do you mean Naruto and Sakura? Of course they do. You were their friend once. I think they still miss you."
"I can't go back," Sasuke said. "It's too late."
"You sound like you want to," Kakashi said.
"All of my decisions lead to this," Sasuke said. "I don't even have a place to take you to recover. This is the closest thing that I have to a home, and I only come here a few times a year. I've spent my entire life running after different intangibles, and now I'm here."
Kakashi realized the depths of Sasuke's instability, and he pitied him even as he tried to find a way to control the situation.
"I wish I could do something for you," Kakashi said. "I think Sakura-sama might allow you back into the village, but she'd watch you like a hawk. But the entire village would be terrified, and the families of the ninjas you killed would want revenge."
"I killed during war," Sasuke said.
"I know that, but it wouldn't help. You must realize that logic won't bring back family members."
Sasuke sat up, his face a mask of anger. "Don't you think I know that? I'm willing to forgive Konoha slaughtering my entire clan. I think they're getting off easy."
"You killed a member of the Hyuuga clan, and a powerful one at that," Kakashi said. "It isn't about forgiveness. It's about revenge. You can't live in a place where the largest clan wants you dead."
"Sensei, if I had stayed in Konoha I never would have killed my own brother. Orochimaru never would have..." Sasuke stopped.
"He did horrible things to me, Kakashi. Horrible things. I want to find a woman and have a normal life while I'm still young enough."
"There is a way," Sasuke said. "I could hold a chakra disguise indefinitely. It barely requires any chakra. I know Konoha wants the Sharingan back."
"I'm not lying to the Hokage," Kakashi said. "Are you really ready to accept her as your Master? You didn't even want her as a teammate when you were younger."
"I don't care," Sasuke said. "Even before my son died I felt lost. After I killed the council members that ordered my brother to wipe out our clan I wandered, taking a job here and there, leading a couple of invasions for the Hidden Rain village under another name - things like that. I feel so empty."
"And you want to go home?" Kakashi asked.
"No. I have no home. I never did. I just want to be there again. It was a better place than anywhere else I've ever been."
"We would have to develop a convincing story, but that's if the Hokage will even accept your proposal. What if she doesn't?"
"I don't know. I suppose I'll wander again. The Rain country wasn't bad - swampy though."
"Smells like rotten vegetation there," Kakashi said.
"They give me high level missions occasionally. I make good money off Rain country, but I don't know anyone there."
"Why would they give a rogue ninja high level missions?" Kakashi asked.
"I impersonate a Jounin that lived in the hills. Unlikable guy with damaged vocal cords. No one even notices."
"Doesn't he blow your cover?"
Sasuke waved a hand in dismissal. "I killed him."
Kakashi had several conflicting thoughts, but one prevailed. Konoha needs the Sharingan back, and Sasuke wants children - children that will be Konoha Ninjas.
"If you can get me back to Konoha I'll try to convince the Hokage, but there will be conditions."
"Such as?"
"A firm understanding about what your role is in the village, unconditional support for the Hokage, and Kitty stays here."
"Done."
"And one more thing. I'm not sure what I am to you. I'm not your teacher or friend. I guess I'm a sponsor. I am not you lover. I told you no when I was incapacitated and you used my body. No more of that."
He watched Sasuke' face anxiously. Sasuke smiled softly. "Thank you for that. That alone is more than Orochimaru ever did for me."
The next day his nerves knitted under Kitty's care, and he felt every bit of what she was doing. Sasuke stayed and watched.
"You can watch if you want, Pookie," Kitty said. "But you won't like it. I'll like it though. I love watching handsome men in pain."
"Don't call me Pookie, ever," Sasuke said.
"I could use the help," she said. "We need to turn him over."
Sasuke helped her. "Now, off with the gown. I need to work on your lower back. Why, Precious, you're blushing. Are you embarrassed to see another man's body? Does his nice ass turn you on?"
"No," Sasuke said. "Get to work. We need to travel soon."
"Travel?" she asked. "You do have a lot of faith in me, don't you, dearest Sasuke-sama?"
"Sure," Sasuke muttered. "Just get on with it."
"What are you going to do?" Kakashi asked.
She didn't answer, but sat cross legged on the floor and began to build up chakra.
Medics shouldn't need to do that, he thought. With their chakra control they only needed to gather chakra for the major operations.
Surely she isn't self taught.
When her hands began to glow with chakra she put them over his lower back. "This might sting a little."
It felt like he was being hit by lightening, like sparrow sized hornets were stinging him up and down his back, like a giant fist was inside his back kneading and tearing the flesh.
It felt like time stopped.
Kitty laughed gleefully, and Kakashi wondered if she was trying to kill him.
Apparently Sasuke wondered the same thing. "So help me, if he dies I'll kill you."
"He won't die," Kitty said.
Kakashi's mouth was open, but no sound came out. He couldn't even breathe except for the occasional rasping gasp.
His legs jerked, and then once again, and he felt them move. He felt the nerves in each leg as Kitty controlled his healing.
It seemed like hours later that she stopped, but he had kept his eyes on the ornate baroque clock. It had been 15 minutes.
When she suddenly stopped using chakra on him the electric pains ceased to run up and down his spine, and it was like the sudden calm after a heavy rainfall. Dull thuds of pain passed through his back and legs in time with his heart beat, but the buzz saw feeling of chakra in his spine was gone.
"Ok. I'm done," she said happily. "Wiggle your toes for me."
He understood what she wanted, but the world had faded away to a far, dim place. He could see and hear her, but he couldn't react.
She waved a hand in front of his face. "Oh dear," she said.
"What happened?" Sasuke asked. "What did you do?"
"The nerves are connected. I think he's just recovering from the pain. I probably should have given him something for it first."
"Do you think so?" Sasuke yelled. "Why did I ever trust you, you dumb, fucking whore?"
"Oh Sasuke," she said in a low, breathy voice. "Yell at me some more." She tried to kiss him.
He pushed her away and lifted her by the throat with one hand, holding her in the air as she choked and tried to pull his hand away.
"Fix what you did to him, now!" Sasuke said. "I need him!"
He dropped her to the floor, where she sputtered and gasped as she held her throat. "Ok," she croaked. She checked Kakashi's vitals and pulled the blanket back over him, but left his feet exposed.
"He isn't quite conscious," she said.
Kakashi felt the killing intent flowing off of Sasuke. Apparently Kitty felt it too, because she began talking quickly.
"He'll be fine. He just needs to recover. Don't look at me like that Sasuke-sama!"
"Fix. Him," Sasuke said through clenched teeth. "Now "
She turned back to Kakashi. "Can you hear me?" she asked.
The dull memory of the pain was receding, but he felt like the time he had leapt into a freezing river to escape tracker dogs. It was hard to think, hard to talk, impossible to move.
"I can hear you," he managed to say with effort.
"Move a toe, just one toe." She glanced up at Sasuke. "Please. He's going to kill me."
She clapped her hands with glee. "You did it!" she said.
He groaned. "Toe hurts now. A lot. Foot hurts."
"You can't absorb any more chakra," she said. "I think you're having chakra shock as it is. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to work on you."
"Can't wait that long," he said. "Morphine."
She pulled a long needle from a bag.
"Why didn't you give him that earlier?" Sasuke asked.
"I forgot," she said. She gave Kakashi the shot, and the world suddenly became a better place.
Somehow he could feel the pain, but it was in a distant, detached way. He sighed as the high hit and closed his eyes. It felt like nothing mattered.
Sasuke watched him closely as his head fell to the side.
"What now?" he asked.
"Tonight his body will absorb the chakra properly, and tomorrow I can start helping him walk again."
"What can I do?" Sasuke asked.
"Nothing. Just let him sleep. Let's turn him back over. It will be ok, Pookie."
"Pookie?" he asked. "Again with that? Get out! I'll do it myself."
"But..."
"Go!" he said. He turned Kakashi over gently, and as he did so Kakashi woke slightly.
"It's over," Sasuke said. He pulled the blanket off and began to put the hospital gown back on Kakashi, lifting him so he could pull it around his shoulders.
"No," Kakashi said. He grasped Sasuke' wrist weakly. "Not again."
Sasuke pulled his fingers away, careful not to hurt him in his helpless state. "You had surgery. I'm putting some clothes on you."
The shame he felt at the relief on Kakashi's face almost made him sick. After Kakashi fell asleep again Sasuke watched him. His pale face was almost washed out of color from pain, and Sasuke wanted to take back everything he ever did to hurt him, because he had lost a protector, something he had only just discovered.
He remembered when Kakashi had looked back at him, smiled, and told him he would protect Team 7 with his life. He stroked limp, sweat-soaked white hair. "It's ok, Sensei. I'll protect you now."
Sasuke lay on the bed next to Kakashi. He felt small, and alone. He indulged his emotions while no one could see him, testing the feelings he hid from.
He never would have touched me, Sasuke thought. I could have grown up and gotten married, had children. He would have taught them, and he never would have touched them either.
The memories of what Orochimaru had done to him surfaced, and he rolled over and put his head on Kakashi's chest. None of it ever had to happen. He slept like that until he heard Kakashi's raspy voice.
"Sasuke?" he asked. "What are you doing?"
"Gomen. I fell asleep. How are you?"
"The pain is gone, but I'm really hungry. I don't know what she gave me, but it wasn't morphine."
"There's no telling with that one. I'll find you some food."
After Sasuke left it occurred to Kakashi that the Sasuke he knew wouldn't have stooped to scavenge for food for an injured...whatever he was to Sasuke.
He came back with yoghurt. "I couldn't find much down there - mostly diet food. Can you sit up?"
Kakashi sat up and leaned against the headboard. He wiggled his toes experimentally, and Sasuke smiled when he saw movement under the blanket.
"It barely hurts anymore," Kakashi said.
"Kitty is good in her own way," Sasuke said. "It's too bad she's so crazy."
Sasuke left Kakashi alone, testing his feet in the bed. If he moved them much they began to tingle and hurt, so he stopped.
When Kitty came back the next day she seemed more controlled.
I guess Sasuke scared her, Kakashi thought. She came with Sasuke.
"I need you on your feet," she said. She helped him out of bed. It felt like the floor was moving under him, and he had to catch the bed to keep from falling.
Sasuke held him up so she could work on him. Kakashi wasn't fond of them removing his small amount of clothing, but he didn't protest. He knew it wouldn't have mattered.
"Not yet," she said. She pulled out a needle and gave him a shot. "I don't want a repeat of last night." She glanced at Sasuke quickly.
Sasuke had to let Kakashi lean on him as the drug hit.
The world wavered before him. "I feel like a Scarecrow," he said. "Like I ought to be out in a field or something." He laughed drunkenly.
"Did you give him too much?" Sasuke asked.
"No. Just enough."
But then Kakashi put his head on Sasuke shoulder.
"I need you to stand up," Kitty said.
"My head is too heavy," Kakashi said.
"Do you have anything to bring him out of it?" Sasuke asked.
"I do," she said. "I'll go get it."
"Now what am I supposed to do with you?" Sasuke asked Kakashi.
He didn't answer, so Sasuke waited for Kitty. When she got back she began to put white lines on powder on the bedside table.
"Is that cocaine?" Sasuke asked.
"You wanted me to bring him out of it," she said.
Sasuke shifted his grip on Kakashi, who was slipping again.
"You can't give cocaine to patients, you daft bint!"
"Then we'll have to let him sleep that off for an hour or so - or more. I don't know. I guess I gave him too much of the pain killer."
"What's in the pain killer?" Sasuke asked.
"Oh, this and that. Some healing herbs, a few natural remedies like ginger and some green tea extract."
"That doesn't sound so bad," Sasuke said.
Kitty cocked her head, put her hands on her hips, and studied Kakashi. "I probably used way too much morphine and marijuana though."
"Hey. I don't...nothing hurts much, but I've never been this hungry," Kakashi said.
"If you can hold him up I can work on him."
Sasuke struggled to hold Kakashi while Kitty passed chakra through him. He actually felt pity for his poor teacher, leaning on him because he was too high to stand, naked and under the care of a mad woman.
"Ok. I'm done," Kitty said. "I would like to see him try to stand alone, but I don't think that's going to happen."
"You can leave us here," Sasuke said.
She packed her things and looked down at the cocaine on the bedside table. "No sense wasting this," she said before pulling a straw out of her pocket and taking several experienced snorts.
She threw her head back. "Whew! Matron always has the good stuff."
"Don't come back until you're sober," Sasuke said as he put the gown back on Kakashi.
He put Kakashi on the bed, lifting his long legs. When he did the hospital gown rode up, leaving him exposed.
Kakashi was so high he didn't even notice.
"Sensei?" Sasuke asked. When he got no response he said. "Can you hear me?" A snore was the only reply.
He was tempted to take Kakashi's member into his mouth. Orochimaru used to love that, but Kakashi probably wouldn't.
He pulled the blanket over Kakashi reluctantly, remembering the times that his former master had used him orally. He'd never liked it. He pictured himself giving Kakashi oral, and he started getting hard. He wanted to give willingly what Orochimaru had taken from him.
Sasuke turned away before the need grew too strong to ignore. He found matron and told her he wanted any girl but Kitty, and the he made the pretty brunette that matron sent suck him while he pushed her head and thrusted fast and hard, just like Orochimaru had done to him, listening to the choking sounds she made. He held her face against him as he came, and when he released her she coughed and stood up.
"You can go," Sasuke said.
She glanced down at Kakashi still fast asleep.
"He's too high to know what's going on around him," Sasuke said, although he knew she wouldn't care if he had watched the entire time. She probably just wanted to decide if she should charge double.
When Kakashi woke Sasuke sat on the side of the bed, staring at the wall.
Kakashi sat up with a grunt and rubbed his back. When Sasuke turned toward him, his red-rimmed eyes betrayed recent tears.
"Kitty came by while you were out, and she said that we could leave tomorrow if we want. She said you're a fast healer."
He went to the window and pulled the shades, looming out over the village toward the mountains.
"I feel like something broke last night," he said. "I need to get out of here. I was stronger before, but now it all comes back to me. I haven't thought about what Orochimaru did to me in years."
He felt an arm around his shoulder, and he looked back to see Kakashi behind him. His drugged eye was only half open.
"I think I can travel if we go slowly," Kakashi said. He shook his head. "Once I sleep this off."
"I'll buy a wagon and team," Sasuke said. "Kitty said it's the only way."
"You're still young," Kakashi said. "There's plenty of time to try to unravel the damage he did. I feel dizzy. I'm going to lie down now."
Sasuke turned and held tightly onto Kakashi. When he kissed Kakashi the older man stopped him, but gently.
"I told you no," he said. "This is the exact opposite of what you need."
"I need to give you what he took," Sasuke said. He reached under Kakashi's gown and stroked him until he had an erection. "You're rock hard, Sensei. You want this."
Kakashi leaned against him, and Sasuke began masturbating him.
"There are a lot of drugs in my system," Kakashi said in a husky voice. "This is a bad idea, Gai."
"I need to do this for you," Sasuke said, ignoring the name mistake. He looked up into Kakashi's glazed, drugged eyes. "I know you want it Sensei."
"Don't call me Sensei," Kakashi said. "That's too weird."
He pulled away from Sasuke and stumbled back to the bed. "I think that's as long as I can stand right now."
He closed his eyes and spread his arms on the bed. "I feel like I'm floating. I don't want any more of whatever Tsunade-sama gave me."
Sasuke leaned over him and took his member in his mouth. He felt Kakashi's body relax as a long soft sigh escaped him.
Sasuke began to take him deep into his throat, gagging and feeling more turned on by the second.
He felt Kakashi's hand in his hair, not twisting and taking a handful before thrusting into his face like Orochimaru, but caressing gently.
The soft touch made him cum, followed soon after by Kakashi. He swallowed and lay by Kakashi - his Kakashi now, and held him.
"We shouldn't have done that," Kakashi muttered, "but damn, you are good, Gai. I don't know why we never did this before."
Sasuke smiled. "I won't tell anyone. It will be our little secret."
He glanced at the open window. "Mostly our secret."
Kakashi snored loudly, and he slept until Kitty arrived hours later.
He sat up with his hair in even more disarray than usual, and he looked around in confusion.
"What day is it?" he asked. "How am I able to feel my legs now? Something seems wrong."
Kitty lifted his chin and looked into his eyes. "Are you still high? I know that stuff is strong, but wow."
"The last thing I remember clearly is you giving me a shot of something."
"That was yesterday. I might have added too much..." She stopped and glanced at Sasuke. "Never mind. A little short term memory loss never killed anyone."
"Then you don't remember this morning at all?" Sasuke asked.
"No, why?"
"We had an important conversation. I hope you remember it later."
"Huh?"
"Nothing. No more pain meds Kitty. At least nothing like that," Sasuke said.
"Oh, ok," she said, "but you have to admit that they do work."
When he was sober enough she encouraged him to walk. His first step sent bolts of pain all the way from his foot to his spine, and he had to lean against the wall to keep from falling. When he felt the chakra invade his spine his legs crumbled, and he fell to his knees and then to the floor.
"Get him up," she told Sasuke. "I need him moving naturally to work on him."
Sasuke put his hand on Kakashi's arm, but Kakashi shook him off and stood, shaky but upright.
"I can do this," he said.
"Let him help you," Kitty said, "or do you want to keep falling?"
"Take a step," she said. Sasuke took his arm as if he was an old woman needing guidance, and he moved forward slowly. One, two, three unsteady steps as she forced chakra through him.
He sat on a pink chair with tan ruffles. "It isn't so bad now," he said, "but my legs feel like noodles."
"We aren't done," she said. "I've almost finished, but I need to do this today. It could cause some damage to leave this half-finished now that we've gotten this far.
Kakashi stood, weaving but fairly stable. "Let's get this over with then," he said. Again, it was only about 15 minutes of work, but it felt like hours until she told him that his body needed time to absorb the chakra she'd been using.
He lay down, and he didn't even bother with the gown. He just pulled the blanket over himself and slept.
"That went well," she said.
"You did a good job," Sasuke said.
He regretted praising her almost immediately. Her eyes lit up, and she squealed. "Thank you, Sasuke-sama!" He hated squealing women.
"I'll see that you get a bonus," he said, trying to focus her on the job instead of her libido.
"When can he travel?" Sasuke asked. "We have difficult work to do a long way from here and I want to get started."
"He could travel by wagon in a couple days, but as far as traveling by foot or horse? It could be a week or more."
"Wagon it is then."
"Wonderful!" she said. "When do we leave?"
"It's dangerous work," Sasuke said. "You're staying here."
She picked up a lamp and threw it. The shattering sound woke Kakashi, who sat up.
"You can't leave me!" she screamed.
"If you continue to act like this I might not leave you alive," Sasuke said. "You completed a job, and now our business is complete. Go."
Her jaw fell open. "But I thought you loved me."
"I never in any way insinuated that," Sasuke said. "Now, you have a choice. I know the room is soundproofed, so you can leave now and no one needs to know about your tantrum, or I can kick you out. I'm sure Matron would discipline you, wouldn't she?"
Kitty picked up her old, battered medical bag. "I'll leave, but you haven't seen the last of me."
"Yes, yes, it's all appropriately dramatic. Now go."
She slammed the door theatrically on her way out.
She had proclaimed him ready to travel, if he was careful, and that day they began the two day trip to Fire Country's border. The roads were bumpy and long, and by the end of the day Kakashi had taken advantage of their disguises as pelt traders to lay in the back on the piles of tanned beaver hides ready for market. When they made camp they didn't bother with tents, but lay on the pelts, watching the stars.
"Falling star," Sasuke said. "Means an auspicious voyage."
"You're making that up," Kakashi said.
"It means good luck - close enough," Sasuke said.
The wind rushing through the pine trees lulled them into drowsiness.
"What is Sakura like now?" Sasuke asked.
"Sakura-sama," Kakashi corrected. "You'd barely recognize her. She's changed a lot in the last couple of years. She had a traumatic loss that changed her, actually, but that's for her to talk about."
"Someone like her shouldn't always have sorrow," Sasuke said.
"Oh what do you know about it?" Kakashi snapped. "You were her first sorrow."
"She was always stronger than all of us," Sasuke said. "I thought so much of myself; so did Naruto. I was going to be the Great Avenger, and he was going to be the Hokage, and look what happened."
"She grew into it," Kakashi said. "She even looks the part."
"She finally quit wearing that awful red dress then?"
"Yes. She's different in so many ways, and she's a dangerous, quick woman. If you don't show her the respect she deserves you'll die."
"You think she could beat me then?" Sasuke asked.
"One on one?" Kakashi asked. "I think it would be close, but no one would ever get the chance to fight her single handed."
"I remember ANBU," Sasuke said. "They didn't stop Orochimaru from invading Konoha."
"We learned from that," Kakashi said. "Don't ever think about harming her."
"I never wanted to," Sasuke said.
"No. You were so focused on Naruto that you didn't even notice her."
"She was kind of annoying and homely though," Sasuke said.
"She's anything but that now," Kakashi said. "They call her the Lion Fist now, and she's considered one of the most beautiful women in the Fire Nation."
"I can't wait to see her then," Sasuke said.
"You leave her alone," Kakashi said. "She's had a harsh life, and those that support her will protect her."
"Lighten up Kakashi. I have no reason to want to hurt anyone in Konoha."
"Don't try to sell me the idea that you want to be a peaceful man," Kakashi said.
"That isn't me and we both know it, but I have no enemies in Konoha. I have no enemies anywhere. I killed them all."
"Naruto won't go easy on you if he ever finds out who you are. He's good at accepting other people's flaws, but you two have too much aggressive history."
"I want to get to know him again," Sasuke said."
"If you hurt him again I'll kill you myself. Do you understand?"
"You don't have to say it like that," Sasuke said.
The next day they made almost 6 hours before Kakashi couldn't sit and had to lay in the wagon.
"We'll have to stop at that town just outside the border so I can rest enough to make it to Konoha alone," Kakashi said. "I can't take you into the Fire Nation without permission from Sakura-sama."
