Hana and Tsume Chapter 2
The dawn air held a pleasantly cool chill to it in sharp contrast to cold air of the clear night or the coming, dry heat, of the next day day. The sun was just barely rising in the east of the horizon, casting a soft orange glow over the sky and the few wispy clouds that were hung there, in the great azure vault. The soft blue of the sky could be just seen above the soft orange, the colours bleeding into one another as the uppermost clouds turned a deep rust red almost like blood from the light of the sun.
The soft wind caressed Naruko's blonde hair as she sat on the top of the Hokage monument, looking out over the entirety of Konoha, from the central tower to the walls and beyond into the forest that surrounded and protected the village. The forest on the horizon seemed blurred against the edges of the sky as the suns light blocked them from sight even though its heat seemed to be swallowed up by the air.
She was thinking. Her consciousness lazily wandering through its own dark and twisting warren of corridors that made up her mind. She often came up here to think or to simple take some time out of other things and relax as she so often needed to these days.

The main house was rather unassuming in its size, unlike many other clans, and had a kennel attached to one side of the ground floor. It was built out of wood as many of the building in Konoha were and therefore was done in a very classic Japanese style, with low sloping roofs that flicked up at the corners, despite the clans reputation.
Hana's own bedroom was plain to say the least. Her clan wasn't exactly known for its overindulgence or extravagance in regarding those sorts of things. "Here we are" the Hokage told her before walking into the building and ascending the stair cases to the third floor.

"No" she said bluntly before turning back to her work. The Hokage nodded and walked out of the room, the apparent stiffness in his step that wasn't missed by Tsume.
