Kakashi opened his eyes then closed them again, the light was burning his eyes, he got up from his position on the small cot he was given, the cage he was in was a lot roomier then the one back at his handlers place, Kakashi had a place to walk around in here, but the one back home was too small for him to even lay down properly, his handler would tell his friends it kept the dog angry and blood thirsty, Kakashi looked down at his food bowl and frowned it was empty, that blonde idiot would be coming any second to fill it, and Kakashi would be waiting, the silver sat up on the cot staring at the fence door, he’d been here for nearly eight months, the first day he attacked anyone and EVERYONE who came into his cage, soon people stopped coming, and he began to get hungry, when the blonde idiot had walked in, Kakashi remembered him from the night he was taken to this white place, the place filled with other dogs, puppies and bitches scent filled the air, as well as the smell of the other fighters, all except Tank, his handler must have gotten away with him.
The blonde stalked into the cage, and Kakashi attacked biting the blondes arm, the blonde fell to the ground but didn’t cry out in pain, tears filled his blue eyes, but he just petted Kakashi telling him he was a good boy, this confused the silver, he was never a good boy unless he killed his opponent, Kakashi had let the blonde go, and for months after would try to scare the blonde away from his cage, his new home, but the blonde would always come back, sit outside his cage and talk to him.
Kakashi looked up from his thoughts hearing the cage open, the blonde seemed upset, like he’d been crying, but Kakashi didn’t care, he watched the blonde fill the bowl and look at him, Kakashi had stopped attacking him, he saw no point, the kid didn’t hurt him, or even acknowledge the pain, Kakashi felt his body stiffen when the blonde went over and hugged him, Kakashi began to shake and pulled away frowning at the boy, he narrowed his eyes giving off a soft growl, warning the kid what he could and WOULD do
“S-Sorry Kakashi… I… I’m just…” Naruto sighed sitting down beside the silver dog, Kakashi shifted a bit before walking to his food bowl beginning to eat from it
“I just got informed… Your master lost the court case today, he lost custody of all of his dogs… You are now property of the city of Konoha…” Kakashi looked at the boy, most dogs preferred to ignore humans, it was nonsense to them anyways, but Kakashi grew up knowing you had to understand what humans were saying, your life could depend on it, and if he no longer had to go back to his handler, that was a good thing, so why was the boy crying? Kakashi knew no handler meant no fighting, so what was the problem? Kakashi growled hearing the fence unlock and open, he ran to the person there snapping his teeth and snarling, the fence slammed shut and locked, and the man outside took a heavy sigh
“Naruto… Get out of there... let’s talk about this” The blonde glared at the raven haired man and crossed his arms looking away
“No” the man sighed rubbing his eyes, he glared at the silver dog and frowned
“Naruto you knew this day was coming, you knew once we won the case, he would be the property of Konoha, you knew THIS was going to happen, this is why I tell you not to attach yourself to these dogs! Its our job to find good homes for the one’s we can!”
“He is a good dog! He’s just been treated so horribly! Sasuke I’m not coming out! And I’m not going to help you guys with this!”
“You have to! Naruto you’re the only one who can get close enough to muzzle him!, its city laws, any vicious dog must be put to sleep once in our care”
“He’s not vicious! He’s just misunderstood!”
“Naruto He’s not you!” The blonde tensed his eyes going wide filling with tears, the brunette sighed placing a hand over his face, he knew he’d messed up now, he may have been a smart man, but he was still an idiot when it came to his husband’s feelings
“Go fuck your self Sasuke! You want to put him to sleep!? You come and get him!” Naruto glared crossing his arms, Sasuke growled and stormed off down the isle passing each dog kennel as he did, he slammed the door shut behind him, Naruto bit his lip, he knew Sasuke was going to do something idiotic like get a tranquilizer for the dog, Naruto reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, Kakashi watched him as he dialled the numbers before placing the phone to his ear, Kakashi was still confused, what did he mean put him to sleep? They were going to drug him to sleep? Why did that bother the blonde so much? Kakashi walked back to the blonde and laid beside him on the cot watching the boy as he spoke to the other person on the line
“Hey Kiba its Naruto… You want to piss Sasuke off?” Kakashi watched as the blonde smirked
“Then get down here now, I got a dog I want your rescue to take in” Naruto said before hanging up, Kakashi watched Naruto with a puzzled look, his perked ears drooped slightly seeing the blonde’s tears, he knew the blonde was crying for him, he just didn’t understand why
“Don’t worry Kakashi I won’t let them kill ya! We’re bonded souls” Kakashi raised a white brow at the boy, he got up walking to his bowl eating his food his tail swaying slightly

Sasuke twitched glaring at the Inuzuka before him, and beside him, Naruto stood, both were smirking that fucking cocky smirk, Sasuke sighed rubbing his eyes
“I Cannot… Will not release him into your rescues arms Kiba, we got plenty of adoptable dogs here for you to take in” Kiba’s smirk darkened, he looked at Naruto
“Here’s the deal Sasuke, you let Kiba take him in, rehabilitate him, find him a good home, and I won’t leave you” Sasuke tensed his eyes going wide, Naruto had jokingly stated he would leave Sasuke before, Sasuke would just roll his eyes and leave the room, but now Naruto was being serious.
Sasuke growled rubbing his eyes before pinching the bridge of his nose
“You get permission from Itachi; you can take the fucking dog!” Naruto beamed clapping his hand, he pulled Sasuke close kissing him deeply
“You are the best Sasuke! I promise I won’t EVER let you forget this! I love you I love you, I love you!” Sasuke blushed faintly then sighed pushing Naruto off
“He’s up stairs; go now before I change my mind” Naruto beamed running up the stairs
