Thanks for the review; any warning can be found in the first chapter and my explenations for writting this story. Thanks for reading and as a present before my life become hectic with University life again I give you chapter 1 so long.
I created some of my own Jutsus in this story and they are all my idea. Two important things; Naruto had an afinity with fire element in this story as well because of Kyuubi's fire nature. And Minato; well he learns a lot and had an affinaty to water. Gamabunta makes an appeareance; yay. I love my big toad; he's just too adorable not to write. And as for him appearing in this time period and knowing about being there; it has to do with Space-time no jutsu. it says it all; even time travel. So that is why the large toad knows so much. Anyways; translations for my jutsus will be at the end of the chapter. For now please enjoy: ----------------------------------- Inouichi frowned as he tracked through the mindscape of Naruto; it was the first time he had ever seen someone with such difficult and complex mind pathways. He shuddered slightly as he felt a dark aura coming from the labyrinth turn up ahead. Water covered the floor, more than seven centimetres deep. It made him shiver as he wadded through it; it was as if it was trying to drag him down and drown him in sorrow. He felt it then; heated chakra and a soft pulsing gentler chakra. Just what the hell was going on? He came to stop in a large, dark room. The pipes above his head continually leaked water in soft drops; each drop echoing in the large space. It was then that he noticed it... "What the hell?!" He yelled as he observed a large cage; iron bars, rusted and yet extremely sturdy was held closed by a simple piece of paper that read: Seal It was a daunting prison and he shivered as he felt that dark aura spike. He nearly felt his heart stop as a large figure came into view. Menacing slitted red eyes stared at him intently as if trying to look through his soul. They were not the eyes of any human and he felt fear flow through him; sharp canine teeth glinted at him as the creature grinned sadistically. His keen eyes could make out a large fox with nine tails swaying leisurely behind it. The flare of fiery chakra made his breath stuttered loudly in his ears as he stumbled forward; water splashing around him and onto his clothes. The water was a cold contrast to the heat that the large fox was giving off. "Good, you have enough sense to fear me." The deep voice rumbled and Inouichi found himself enthralled by the large creature in the cage; right in front of him. His eye raked over the contents of the prison and frowned when he could see Naruto's body curled up to the large fox; several bushy tails were wrapped around the teen as they comfortingly stroked over Naruto's body. The teen seemed to be fast asleep. "At least you have enough sense to fear me; not like arrogant Uchiha's that believes they can stand before me with those accursed eyes of them. Now then little human; what do you want?" Inouichi tried to make sense of those words but he couldn't. Instead he opted to answer the frightening monster's question. "I...I came here...to...assess Naruto's damaged hearing..." The fox was oddly quiet as those deep red eyes raked across the Yamanaka's body; then that large nose sniffed in the air. The mood suddenly becoming heavy with something Inouichi couldn't explain. "I see a Yamanaka." There was a short silence before Kyuubi spoke again. This time with a sorrowful tone. "I am afraid to say that there is nothing you can do for my kit; Inouichi-kun. If there was I would already have fixed it." The sudden sadness in the large fox's voice was confusing for Inouichi but he held his ground. Teal eyes locked with slitted red as he hardened his resolve. He needed to have some answers before the end of this session. "What are you? Why are you here?" He asked with a clipped tone. He could hear a noise of amusement on the other side of the bars. Had the fox just snorted at him? "I'll only tell you because my kit here hasn't reacted in fear to your presence." It said amused as those red slitted eyes flickered in a dangerous light. "However this cannot be repeated or I will personally rip you apart limb from limb before bathing in your blood. Do you Understand?" Inouchi gave a quick nod; not wanting to anger the fox anymore. It seemed to be satisfied before looking at him pointedly. Large claws flexing before it's head rested on his paws. "I am Kyuubi no Kitsune, the strongest of the Bijuu and I was sealed into Naruto the day he was born. It's a long and sad story and I will not tell you since it is Naruto's story to tell. All that you should know is that Naruto is precious to me and anyone who hurts him will suffer my wrath; well except for Naruto's beloved father but that is a story for another day." Kyuubi said before shifting one of his tails. Inouichi could see the blonde head peaking up as the atmosphere began to change. Naruto was starting to awaken from his slumber. "You must go. Naruto cannot find you here. His mind is very fragile and another presence could very well break him." Kyuubi said warningly; turning away from his visitor to coo at his host gently; tails wrapping around Naruto in a protective manner. "But I need to forge a telepathic link between Naruto and Minato!" Inouichi protested loudly but only Kyuubi's laughter filled through his mind as he was forced back into his own body harshly. 'That connection was created the moment Naruto met Namikaze Minato; but I'll strengthen it as well.' The words followed through Inouichi until he came too in his own mind. Processing the fact that he was standing in a white hospital room; his hand resting on a sleeping Naruto's forehead and panting lightly. The words of Kyuubi ringing in his mind loudly. Going by the protectiveness the large fox had shown he could see that Naruto suffered a lot; those flashing images that had followed him attested to that. Inouichi had a feeling that the water coating the labyrinth in Naruto's mind was tears that he held inside of him. ~ Minato watched quietly as Inouichi performed his duty on a still unconscious Naruto; he had said that when he forged the link it would be less painful for both him and Naruto. So instead Minato could only watch in silence as Inouichi did what he had been ordered to do. He couldn't help but feel concern spread through his body as he saw Naruto peaceful expression turn to one of quiet pain; he could see beads of sweat forming on Naruto's forehead and he also noticed that Inouichi's breath was also coming in small ragged bursts. It was worrying... "W-what?" He reeled at the sudden feeling of his connection with Naruto flare with heated chakra as it opened a stronger pathway between them. Minato shuddered as he became aware of something akin to warm fox tails stroking over him in comfort and Naruto's presence strengthening inside of him. He didn't know how he knew but he knew Naruto was waking up; so without second thought he walked forward and took Naruto's hand in his. The small contact made Minato aware that his mind was completely connected to Naruto's just as Naruto's was connected with his; he could feel Naruto's confusion rush through him and tried to sooth the blonde teen with gentle touches. Blue eyes locked with his and he saw a smile flit across Naruto's lips; that small gesture made relief flood through him. "Minato;" The sudden voice of Inouichi drew away his attention from Naruto and Minato turned to see the Yamanaka heir leaning heavily against the wall; holding his head. It was first time he had seen the stoic man so effected by a simple mind transfer technique. He did a double take when he saw tears in the corners of Inouichi's eyes. "That child has been through so much. I caught a glimpse of his past when I was forced out of his mind Minato. You need to get through to him, I think you'll be the only one who can save him from himself." Those words made Minato freeze as he felt concern spike through him; Naruto was hurt? How was he going to fix him when Naruto seemed to be fine. Inouichi picked up on his confusion and pushed himself away from the wall as he stalked over to Minato. "He hides behind a mask Minato; a very well constructed mask that is slowly eating him up from the inside and cracking under the weight of his sadness. Remember that." Inouichi said before heading for the open window and disappearing into the day light air. Minato stared after Inouichi before turning his attention back to Naruto; blue eyes locking with another set of blue and he smiled. 'How're you feeling?' He asked as he opened their connection. He could see Naruto smile at him happily before scratching at the back of his neck sheepishly. It was a movement he was familiar with; Minato chuckled heartily. He often did the same thing to express feelings he didn't quite understand or know how to explain himself. 'I feel fine; although it's a bit weird to hear you in my head.' Naruto admitted truthfully. It really felt odd being aware of another presence hovering at the edge of his mind. Kyuubi had told him what had happened and he felt a sudden loss settle over his heart; feeling disconcerted at the fact that he would never be able to hear again. However he felt relief that Minato's voice would always be there to answer him; that made bearing with the news a bit easier. 'Naruto?!' Naruto snapped his attention towards Minato and frowned. Had he done something wrong? He saw Minato give an exasperated sigh as he reached for Naruto's hands and pull the blond teen to his feet and into his chest. The small touch causing Naruto to almost loose control of his pent up emotions; it was strange what a small touch of comfort could do to him. Before he could break again Naruto harshly pushed his emotions into the back of his mind; like with so many things before where it would not haunt him until he slept. He just hoped that Minato wouldn't have to live through one of his nightmares as he knew exactly how devastating they could be. He could feel turmoil rushing through his mind before he locked it away; far away from his conscious thought. Just like the time when he had to face Sasuke and found a Chidori thrust through his chest; betrayal and hurt had flooded through him and left him reeling with not only physical pain but a deep wound carved into his heart. 'You should pay attention when I'm talking to you, Naruto. Now let's do this again; do you want to out of the hospital?' Minato said sternly and Naruto smiled happily. He was excited at the prospect of escaping the hospital and getting some fresh air. Memories of the warm sun, familiar smells and ramen invaded his thoughts. Immediately it made him lust for the simple and familiar taste of Ramen even if he was in a different time. 'Ramen! I want ramen.' Naruto thought happily; his mouth watering at the prospect of ramen. He shivered as something settled over him and gasping slightly he turned towards Minato with big eyes. He could see his cloak folded neatly on one of the chairs and nearly panicked when he didn't see his large scroll. A very important scroll he noted; he felt strong hands against his shoulders and pull his attention back to Minato standing in front of him. 'Your scroll is in the corner.' Naruto didn't know exactly how Minato had known that he was looking for his scroll but he nodded his thanks; shoving the protesting shinobi out of the room so that he could get dressed. He shifted his shoulder and felt a bit of stiffness in his joints but he smiled; it was already much better. With careful fingers Naruto undid the bandages around his torso; wincing when it stretched his muscle in a painful manner. Biting his lip he pulled on a loose black shirt that had been left out and a normal jounin vest to replace the ripped and blood stained orange and black jacket. He felt a pang of guilt resonate through him; that had been the clothes that Ero-sennin had gotten him on their three year training trip. He was lost in those memories as he finished dressing, pulling on his black and red cloak he had grown accustomed to before reaching for his scroll. Fingers brushing lightly against it familiar shape as he slipped the leather harness across his chest; it's familiar weight dulling some of the emotional pain he felt spiking through him. Smiling softly as he remembered how the Toad Sennin had presented him the scroll right after he had finished his training. 'Since Jiraiya-chan was the guardian of this scroll and he chose you as his apprentice; as you are also the child of prophesy we are entrusting the scroll between the Hidden Toad Village and the Shinobi of Konoha to you. This responsibility is now passed down to you.' He had sworn to wear it with honour and gratitude and it had never left his side since that day; bringing with it a small comfort that Ero-sennin trusted him enough to make him the heir to the Toad contract between the humans and the toad village. With a small smile flitting across his face he got ready to head into the village with Minato at his side. ------------------- Naruto slurped at his ramen noodles, he was surprised that Ichiraku's had opened but then again the shop owner was old when he remembered him. It was odd to stare at Tueichi-san now; he looked so young. He was having a ramen eating contest with Minato who was already two bowls ahead of him. Naruto made his way through his last bowl and had to stop; he couldn't eat anymore and he didn't want to waste a good opportunity to explore the training grounds with Minato who had promised to take him for a spar. 'No more! I yield!' Naruto yelled. He could hear Minato's chuckle reverberating through his mind and it made him smile. He held up his hands in defeat for emphasis and allowed himself to laugh for the first time that day. He didn't know if any sound escaped him but it helped to allow himself to let go. He was aware of a hand on his shoulder as Minato graced him with a blinding smile and Naruto felt a pang of sorrow lance through him; heart clenching painfully. He had never seen such a happy, careless smile from anyone but himself and his master Jiraiya; it hurt to think that he may have lived to never see that smile from this shinobi. It was too much for his emotionally strained mind and he felt his mental barrier cracking under the weight and pushing heavy emotions into his mind. A melancholic mood settled across his heart; he could feel tears prickle at his eyes. It was just like Jiraiya's smile and one he wouldn't see again; that was what hurt the most. 'Sorry.' Naruto said before sliding from his barstool and rushing in a different direction. He needed to get away from the stifling feeling that was settling across his heart. He could feel Minato's presence in his mind so he sent a reassuring pulse across their bond. His statement was simple but it also held a promise. 'I need to run for a bit. I'm going to training ground seven; I'll meet you there.' 'Keep safe.' He heard Minato's reluctant response. No matter the concerned words of Minato; Naruto felt warmth spread through him as some of his turmoiled emotions calmed a bit. He could see the familiar training grounds ahead of him and felt himself gaining more control over his emotions. Minato's presence not far behind him; he came to a stop. Blue eyes observing two students arguing over something. He could recognize Kakashi immediately; freezing when he met with black eyes behind orange goggles. They were as black as night and shimmered in an arrogant way. 'Definitely an Uchiha.' He thought to himself; although it was the first time he had seen an Uchiha display so many different emotions at the same time as he watched the dark haired genin making large, over exaggerated gestures and facial expressions. He seemed to be nothing like Sasuke. Naruto promptly cursed as he felt his calmed emotions rage again; he just had to think of Sasuke didn't he? He had been happy for a while to observe them but he just had to think of something that he knew was a trigger to painful emotions. He forced himself to focus on the two boys in front of him. He however didn't notice the third member of a normal genin team; it was odd but he shook his head anyway. Not even flinching when Minato landed next to him in a graceful jump. 'This may be good for them. Will you be willing to spar in front of a few genin Naru-chan?' Minato's voice purred in his mind and Naruto felt a blush settle across his nose heavily; it took his mind away from Sasuke or at least that was what he thought until he heard Minato speak again. He never knew a voice could sound like that; never mind from his father. 'Who's Sasuke?' Naruto averted his eyes in shame; he didn't want Minato to see this weakness he had. He shivered as fingers lifted his chin between a forefinger and thumb and blue eyes locked with his. It was as if they were reading the deepest secrets buried in his own mind. Naruto gave a shake of his head; not noticing the intimate position they were in nor two pairs of curious eyes that had focused on them. 'I'll tell you one day; but not now. I don't want to think of that bastard right now.' Naruto said firmly and shivered as he felt eyes on him. He blushed profusely as he saw Minato's students stare at him with wide eyes. He immediately jumped back a few feet from Minato and watched his own blush mirrored on his father's cheeks. He could see as Minato jumped towards his two students and start talking to them; tentatively he followed. Distinctly aware of two pairs of intense eyes trained on him. He shivered slightly under their scrutiny. 'They're just curious about you Naru-chan. After all its not everyday they get to meet someone with such exotic looks and such a powerful aura.' Naruto scowled at that information; he was nothing special. Or that was what he kept telling himself even though a lot of people seemed to disagree with him. Why he never knew... 'Whatever.' Naruto turned his head away defiantly as he crossed his arms over his chest and stared at the sky; it was a good day. The sun was in the sky and only several clouds dotted the azure expanse; for Naruto Konoha would never change it's beauty. A serene feeling spilled over him and he wanted to protest when Minato dragged his attention back to his predicament. Being scrutinized by two genins; who seemed to have taken a sudden interest in him. He raised his hand in an awkward greeting as he looked at the man who started all this; how he wanted to beat him in a spar. He could feel his chakra itching to be released. Smirking towards his father he felt a sudden need to prove himself for his father; show him that he could be proud of his son. 'Yo Dad!' Chuckling in his mind when he saw Minato flinch slightly at that word but he could also feel a spike of happiness trail across their bond. It told him that Minato didn't mind to be called 'Dad'; in fact he seemed to love it. He shrugged to himself as he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind where a lot of information seemed to be pilling up lately. Information he was going to have to deal with at one time or another. 'Aren't we suppose to be having a spar? You promised remember?' He could hear the sigh of Minato and only allowed his smile to widen wickedly. He had caught Minato in his web; it wouldn't be long now. 'I'll definitely win; just watch me.' It was a challenge and Minato seemed to be competitive so with a determined nod it was decided; it would be an all out spar regardless of the audience watching them. 'Minato; I think it is best to use large open area. Do you think we could use the stadium?' It was first place that would still allow for viewing and having large area that could be used. It was possibly the only place to have an all out spar without the possibility of getting anyone hurt in the process. 'Hmm, I think it'll be okay considering that it is going to be rebuilt anyway. Any severe damage would be more convenient than a hindrance. That is if you are willing to go all out. Na-ru-to.' Naruto took the challenge as he heard the small tease in Minato's voice. 'This is so on.' He warned as he took off; cloak fluttering in the wind as he felt Minato and his two students not far behind. The wind was pleasant against his skin and Naruto allowed his mind to drift and work out several strategies; all of which included at least one clone that would collect Sennin Chakra. With a smirk across his features he formed a seal and allowed a clone to appear next to him; he smiled at his doppelganger and gave his instructions as he disappeared into the distance. Seeking a spot where he knew the spar would not reach. 'Let's get going then?' Naruto sent to his opponent; squishing down the sudden unease that built through him. It was not the feeling that he was going to get hurt or die; no, this was a foreboding that his emotions might not hold out until the end of the day before he would break completely. He just wished that it was nothing more than an feeling and not a prediction. He felt his scroll shift against his lower back and he came back to himself; yes its familiar weight was helping to calm his emotions enough to allow his Kage Bunshin to start his collection of nature's chakra. He could already feel anticipation curl through him; he wanted a challenge and he knew that Minato would be able to give him one. The blonde ANBU had been helping Naruto all day and he suspected that Minato knew that this was just what needed. ~ Minato felt anticipation curl in his stomach as he gave the final condition of their spar. He had seen the small shimmer of happiness in Naruto's eyes and felt that he had to make that little shimmer shine brighter and offer Naruto a chance to have an outlet of all his emotions. He also remembered that Sarutobi had asked for an evaluation of Naruto's strength. He moved into position; a few kunai in his hand as he watched as Naruto did the same. Something about that moment in time felt so right as the wind swirled around their forms in a gentle caress; the sudden calm and stillness that surrounded them was something to be cherished for a few moments. Naruto also seemed to sense it and Minato watched as blue eyes closed and Naruto's chakra flow became more gentle in response to the wind. 'No holding back Naruto; it 's an all out spar.' Minato reminded his sparring partner again. Eyes following Naruto's movements as he gave the signal to start. It was as he suspected; Naruto was very agile in his movements. He dodged a volley of kunai as his eyes followed Naruto's movements. The appearance of a Kage Bunshin made him shift his movements as more weapons were launched at him; taking the offence Minato took two shuriken in his fingers and launched them; forming the right seals for one of his special jutsu. 'Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu.' Making sure to use their link he alerted Naruto to his jutsu as well. His eyes easily following Naruto's movements easily as Naruto evaded the large volley of multiple shuriken. He was impressed when Naruto managed to evade every single one of the multiple Shuriken attack and not a single scratch was delivered to his body. Deep down Minato gave a sigh of relief before moving aside as two Kage Bunshin clones attacked him; two Rasengan nestled in each of their palms. Minato activated his superior speed as he evaded the two perfectly formed Rasengan and the several dozen clones that Naruto sent his way. Naruto was good, his techniques were fast and they worked well together in matching their fighting strengths. He heard it clearly then; the sudden rush of wind directed at him. 'Fuuton: Fuyu Hyaku No Senbon!' Naruto's voice rang loudly in his head and Minato cursed colourfully. He had never heard of such a technique and judging by the amount of chakra Naruto poured into it; it wasn't going to be easy to evade. His hands flashed through a series of seals as he pulled the jutsu from his memory; it had been a long time since he had needed to use it. 'Fuuton: Kuro Kaze Hekki!' He could feel the force behind Naruto's attack and cringed. His wind element barrier was barely holding up at all. In the end he had to let it go and move out of the way to avoid being seriously hurt by that technique. He shuddered slightly as he felt the tension in the air hike up a bit. He could see the determination in Naruto's eyes was exactly matched to his so with a flash of several hand seals and a Flying Thunder God Kunai he was transported himself mere millimetres from Naruto's location. The clang of kunai was loud in the air as they tested their taijitsu; Naruto was good as a close combat fighter and Minato found himself being pushed into a corner several times. Yet, he would not yield to Naruto so he pushed himself away from Naruto and started the hand seals that could cause some serious damage if it made contact. Several chakra wires were launched at his opponent and Minato was amazed as he watched Naruto's counter. Whatever he expected this was not it; Naruto had caught the chakra wire between his teeth as his own hand flashed in a dangerous combination of hand seals. 'Katon: Sen Taiyo Shoku Rendan!' 'Fuck!' He cursed loudly as he watched the large trail of several flames licked up all six of his chakra wires and head straight for his hand; he had just enough time to drop the wires and jump aside. Heat passed above him and he breathed a small sigh of relief only to stutter again as another fire element technique was used by Naruto. Carefully and with the right amount of chakra he summoned up one of the techniques that Sarutobi had taught him a few years ago. 'Suiton: Ichi Kawa no Hekki!' Luckily the water technique cancelled out Naruto's fire technique and Minato shifted again. What was worse was that Naruto used clones to keep distracting him. It was then that he felt it; the distinct chakra signature of Jiraiya-sensei. So the old man had come to find where the large clashed of chakra were? He was always a curious man so he came to watch the fight? Minato smiled before turning his attention back to his opponent. He watched Naruto carefully but it seemed that Naruto had yet to notice the Sannin's chakra. He was dragged back to the fight as he felt another large wave of chakra; Naruto's hands had just flashed through a very familiar combination of seals and Minato found his eyes widening. 'Sorry Minato but I need Bunta's help for my next technique.' Minato frowned at Naruto's words and gaped; yes gaped as a very familiar amphibian chakra invaded his senses. Before him stood a very large, very angry and very confused Gamabunta. Who was busy cursing up a colourful storm as Naruto planted himself on the large toad's head. "What the fuck! Who the fuck is this? Naruto?! FUCK! You caused trouble again didn't you! You're not even in the right time period!" Gamabunta's voice rang through the entire stadium as the agitated toad literally shook in his anger. Naruto was calmly standing above the toad as he sat in a peculiar position; Minato was confused and decided to ask Gamabunta. "He's using me to ground him; Minato. I suspect that he'll be releasing his Sennin Chakra soon and when he does Minato you better be prepared." Sennin Chakra? That was odd; he had heard Jiraiya talking about it once in the form of Senjutsu but he hadn't been paying much attention that day. Now he was confused and agitated; angered that he hadn't listened when he should have. "Yo Naruto; go easy on him. He's not Pein you know!" Gamabunta yelled and frowned when he didn't hear Naruto's response. "Umm; Bunta-sama. Naruto's lost his hearing a mere forty eight hours ago. He can't hear you." The large toad seemed quiet and didn't say anything; only giving a sigh and disappearing in puff of smoke as Naruto released the technique. Minato came face to face with Naruto and merely stared. Bright golden eyes rimmed in red stared at him intensely; he felt a shiver of fear spark through him for the first time. Naruto's chakra was more powerful than before and he saw a slight smirk curl across Naruto's lips. 'You're showing off Naru-chan.' Minato thought as he jumped back; not exactly prepared for Naruto's sudden increase in speed and different approach to taijitsu. A flash of recognition sparked in those golden eyes and Minato could have sworn he saw pain and sorrow reflected there as Naruto stumbled and gripped at his heart. Now he was really concerned. ~ Naruto could feel Bunta beneath him and knew the toad boss was probably cursing up a storm beneath him and somehow he was relieved he couldn't hear it. Sometimes the toad's brash attitude stung more than he liked to admit. Yet right now he needed the large toad to ground himself and release his other clone that had been collecting sennin chakra. He felt it; Minato's chakra pulsing strongly and it made him happy that his father had yet to tire out. Knowing that even Kakashi-sensei couldn't stand up to him after he had had his Sennin training. Golden eyes opened and observed as Minato seemed to talk to Gamabunta; good it meant that Minato had been kept distracted. With a powerful burst of chakra he released Bunta from his duty and jumped to the ground. He saw the slight shimmer of fear in Minato's blue eyes and wondered if he went too far; he pushed it aside as Minato attacked him again and they danced in elegant movements. Naruto using elements of frog-fu to aid him in evading dangerous movements. 'You're showing off Naru-chan.' Minato's voice held a bit of amusement and Naruto chuckled only to stop abruptly. Feeling that familiar chakra curl around his senses; his heart was breaking with the sudden influx of emotions that one single flash of chakra caused. He was surprised, hurt and all together felt his world collapsing around him. He felt intense relief and happiness flood through him; so much so that it hurt to feel. Letting his control slip a bit and dissipating some of his Sennin Chakra back to nature. Reigning it back in so that only a few tears escaped from golden eyes. He had almost lost his control before he felt a sudden tiredness settle over him. His taxed mind wanting to shut down. The sudden realization that a person he had known was dead and was now here, alive in this time. It was a bit too much for him to process completely. 'I'm tired.' Naruto said softly before summoning two clones to his side; his breath now coming in ragged gasps as he felt his body starting to adhere to his tired state. 'Naruto?' Minato's concerned voice invaded his senses and gave him his last bit of strength. He smiled towards Minato gently before starting his technique. 'Please make sure you evade this technique Tou-chan. I wanted to show you this from the beginning. All I wanted my entire life was to be acknowledged and I've decided to allow you to be privy to my entire past; sixteen years of hatred, pain and utter loneliness . So please; this is for you and only you.' He said softly with tears in his eyes; the last of his Sennin chakra. The powerful Rasengan swirling above his head in a familiar shape and he knew that if he could hear that it would be making an extremely high pitched sound. He missed that confirmation that a Rasen-shuriken was being formed and properly executed. 'Fuuton: Rasen-Shuriken!' With the last of his chakra he allowed the technique to go. Blue eyes watching its path as it streaked passed Minato and buried itself in the ground. The area exploded in a shower mud and dust as the Rasen-shuriken destroyed everything in its path. A breath left him in a rush as he sunk to his knees; hands gripping at sand as a strangled sob escaped his lips. The pain of the past few weeks exploding through him in a sorrowful haze. He clutched at his heart as it beat erratically and caused pain to race up his spine and rest at the back of his scalp. He bent forward; harsh sobs escaping his throat even though he couldn't hear them he knew he was screaming. Jiraiya, Minato, Kakashi, Jiji-Hokage; they were all here and all alive. It felt surreal and all of his sorrow filled him from the beginning as he mourned their loss again and again and again. He was aware of Minato's hands around his shoulders as he was hoisted in the older nin's arms and carried away. He came slowly too as at the feeling of being put on a concrete floor and his back against a cool wall; blue eyes stared at him concerned and Naruto held those eyes as he allowed the calm chakra of Minato to flow through him. His tears slowed; slowly Naruto felt drained as he buried his head on Minato's shoulder; taking a comfort he had never been offered in his entire life. He knew he was close to breaking point but he reeled his emotions into himself and bottled it up; a hitched sob later and two tears Naruto forced his breath to even out. ~ 'Please make sure you evade this technique Tou-chan. I wanted to show you this from the beginning. All I wanted my entire life was to be acknowledged and I've decided to allow you to be privy to my entire past; sixteen years of hatred, pain and utter loneliness. So please; this is for you and only you.' Those words; Minato shuddered as he heard them. He knew something had affected Naruto and changed his emotions drastically but he didn't know what it was; those few words had his heart racing as he watched the formation of something powerful. Heart fluttering in his chest as he saw it take shape; wincing when he noticed tears streaming down Naruto's whiskered cheeks. This was something special but also heart wrenching to watch; blue eyes steadily observing the formation of the technique he had tried to finish but never got the chance to. Emotions flooded him as it resonated from Naruto to him; it hurt, it really did. He stumbled a bit to the side; eyes never leaving the large wind element Rasengan. 'Fuuton: Rasen-Shuriken!' Its name echoing loudly in his ears; it truly was an S-class technique and one to behold. It was almost beautiful to watch as it seemed to shrink into itself but then it exploded outwards in a blinding white light. Thousands of chakra threads dancing with the wind element; it made a warmth rush through his body. He had never seen anything more beautiful; well except Naruto when he was busy forming the technique; now it was ingrained in his mind. He was stunned speechless as he watched dirt, mud and dust fly through the air; a massive crater where the technique had once struck. Collective silence settled over his and Naruto's link before a flurry of painful emotions nearly deafened him. It was as if Naruto was crying out for help but he didn't seem to even know it. He heard it; ragged and uneven sobs. His eyes immediately trained on Naruto's form; now kneeling on the ground, in tears and screaming his heart out. He didn't think Naruto was aware of the sounds he was making but it was enough to break anyone's heart in a fifty mile radius; even a stoic Uchiha. 'Naruto!' He yelled frantically as he kneeled in front of Naruto; trying everything to get his attention but nothing seemed to working. He could feel his own panic start to form; Naruto seemed completely lost to the world. He could vaguely feel Jiraiya's chakra shifting but he held up a hand; signalling his teacher to stay right where he was. Without second thought he took Naruto in his arms and jumped to the stand where he could feel Jiraiya's chakra. He didn't even glance in his sensei's direction as he placed Naruto against the back wall and knelt in front of him; fingers immediately unbuttoning the clasp of Naruto's large scroll's harness and gently putting it aside. Remembering how Naruto had worried that morning when he couldn't find it. Shifting Naruto's cloak from his shoulders he straddled Naruto's legs as he placed his hands on Naruto's cheeks; gently wiping away at the tears that fell silently now. Each time his fingers brushed against whisker like marks, sending small electrical jolts of pleasure through his fingers. He ignored it as he allowed his instinct to lead him. 'Come back to me; son.' He said softly as he laid his forehead against Naruto's and allowed for chakra to pass between them; linking their minds together and offering comfort he knew that Naruto desperately needed. He felt Naruto begin to respond to his touch and chakra and felt a sigh of relief travel through him. Naruto's head fell against his neck as a small river of tears streamed down his neck before stopping completely. A hitched breath later and Naruto was staring at him with clear eyes again. 'Are you okay?' The blond head nodded and Minato smiled. 'I'm glad. Come let's sit down for a bit; you need to rest and I need to talk to Jiraiya-sensei.' Minato lead his beloved to one of the seats in the large stadium and sat down expecting Naruto to sit next to him. He frowned when he felt Naruto push at his legs and instead plopped himself on the ground; back between Minato's legs as his head rested against the elder Namikaze's lap. Minato felt himself fighting off a deep blush as Jiraiya sat down next to him. He saw thousands of questions dance in black eyes and he gave a sigh; fingers resting on Naruto's head as he carded through blonde locks. Naruto seemed to purr beneath him and he felt a small rush of attraction flash through him before he pushed it aside. "What the hell was that Minato? Who is this kid; why does he look so much like you? And why the hell did it seem as if you two could have conversation with each other without uttering a single word? Wait, wait, wait! Was that the finished Rasengan I just saw?" Jiraiya's voice was slightly frantic so Minato let a small distressed chuckle spill from his lips. He needed to calm down his sensei in order to explain a long story. "It seems like we can have an entire conversation without talking because that is exactly what we are doing Jiraiya-sensei. Naruto is deaf and can't hear. As for the other questions; you better settle down as it is going to be one hell of an explanation." --------------------------------- "I must ask you to not repeat anything I have told you Jiraiya-sensei." Minato said seriously as he finished his explanation. He sensed that Naruto's mind had finally shut down and he was now dozing against his legs. Minato continued to run his fingers through soft locks; it was like silk against his fingers and it made something in his heart flutter. Blue eyes focused on Jiraiya and he saw the quiet awe hidden in those eyes; the white haired Sannin was contemplatively quiet. "It's the first time I have ever seen a real Sage Master; this kid cannot be more than sixteen years of age and he is already so skilled. Even at thirty I have not mastered Senjutsu and yet this kid... He must be one hell of a shinobi Minato. One. Hell. Of. A. Shinobi." Jiraiya emphasized and Minato nodded; he could sense it too. In a spar Minato almost never even thought of working with Fuinjutsu but with Naruto he was almost pushed to show his full power and use some of the techniques that were laying dormant in his mind. "Jiraiya-sensei; I'm worried about Naruto. I have never seen a shinobi that was so fragile." Minato expressed his concern for his son as he felt his heart clench painfully in his chest. Naruto's emotional state was worrying to him, especially if it was affecting him so harshly. He shuddered lightly as he remembered the broken cries that had spilled from petal pink lips and as much as he tried to gain Naruto's attention the young shinobi seemed to not hear or feel him at all. It was disconcerting to think that whatever he did he could not always get through to Naruto. Heartbreaking even; especially now considering that Naruto needed support and yet he only curled in on himself instead. It made him wonder just what life his son had been forced to live if he seemed so vulnerable... "He's not fragile Minato; he's the strongest shinobi I have ever seen." Minato's attention snapped back to his teacher with a frown marring his features. He shook his head slightly; Jiraiya-sensei always took things a bit too literally. He would have chuckled if it hadn't been such a serious situation they were dealing with. He sighed, turning deep blue eyes towards his sensei with conviction shimmering there clearly. "Not like that Jiraiya-sensei. I mean his emotions; there is always a tinge of sadness in his eyes and it hurts to see it because I know he is trying to hide it from me. I don't know what to do." Minato finally admitted softly to himself. "I cannot answer that Minato; you should know that I am not good with emotions. Maybe Ibiki or Inouichi should be able to understand more since they are trained in the area of the psyche but I'm horrible at analyzing and helping with emotional scars." Minato deflated; he had hoped that Jiraiya would at least give him some piece of advice. "Don't look so defeated Minato! Yare, yare you really take things too hard on yourself. All I can say to you is; stay close to him and offer him the comfort and love that he had been depraved of his entire life. " Minato's nodded and saw as Jiraiya pointed to him. "Just like that; he seems to crave reassurance that he is still alive." Minato noted that Naruto had pressed himself against his body and was taking comfort from him without Minato even noticing. It was then that he became aware that his hand never stopped petting Naruto and his son didn't seem to be protesting where as any normal teenager would pull away in embarrassment; he smiled. His heart settling a bit; it seemed to come naturally with him. The affection between them flowed easily; mending two lonely hearts slowly and replacing it with love. He smiled; fingers resting at the back of Naruto's neck. It felt so right... "I see your two students are getting restless; they also want to talk to you. Give me some time to process this information Minato. I want to properly meet Naruto someday." With a nod in his direction the white haired Sannin disappeared. True to his words Obito and Kakashi came flying towards the stands where he was seated with Naruto. He chuckled as he saw the awe in their eyes; it reminded him of the first time he had been able to see a fight between two higher lever shinobi. "So did you enjoy it?" he asked with a smile before cringing; his ears hurting with the sheer volume that spilled from Obito. "It was awesome Minato-sensei! I have never seen a fight where all the techniques were executed without speaking. And did you see that Katon technique! I never knew different elements could be used in such rapid succession and Minato-sensei?! Is such a large toad even real? What was that last technique? It was awesome. I want to learn it." Minato held up a hand with an amused smile; trying to slow down the rapid bursts of conversation from his student. Kakashi was silent but Minato could see his curiosity in his grey eyes. "Slow down Obito; I'll try to answer as many questions as I can. Now ask them slowly please." He begged; really Obito had too much energy for his own good. It made him wonder if he was really an Uchiha; he had never met an Uchiha that showed so much emotions. Especially if he was looking at the differences between Fugaku and young Obito. Two completely different personalities and both were related to the main Uchiha house. ~ Naruto felt dazed as he sat against Minato's legs. The simple pressence of his father caused him to feel at ease; and those fingers against his scalp. It felt like heaven. He tilted his head to the side to get more of that touch. He smiled as he heard Minato's chuckle in his mind. He felt kind of left out when Minato started talking to Jiraiya and he couldn't hear the conversation between them; he knew it was somehow about him so carefully he ignored everything around him. Allowing his mind to become still and empty; he was tired and slightly bored. So shifting his position he formed a seal and allowed natures chakra to flow through him again, that feeling was addictive as he felt nature surround him in a soft caress. He finally allowed himself to relax as he stretched his senses; making a game of finding familiar chakra signatures. There was Minato's soft pulsing glow behind him; Kakashi's controlled but wild chakra, the dark haired Uchiha he had met before was dipped in a warm chakra; Fire element. He noted to himself. Then there was Jiraiya's large pulsing chakra, reminding him of hot summer evenings spent in front of the fire. A wave of nostalgia flitted through him as he felt another flash of chakra; it reminded him so much of smoke and sake. It was definitely belonged to the Jiji-Hokage. He stiffened when he felt that dark chakra; it was cold and filled with hate but it was different from how he remembered it. Almost like Sasuke's but much more controlled and warm. Could it have been the Uchiha Patriarch? He stretched his senses further smiling when he felt that soft but different pulse of chakra; it was definitely Guy-sensei. He wondered faintly if he and Kakashi were already harsh rivals. Then there was Shikaku; the lazy but sharp chakra was definitely one that belonged to the Nara family. He paused; a shiver wracked itself through his body. That snake like chakra, filled with ambition and raw power. 'Fuck! Orochimaru!' Naruto cursed as now golden eyes shot open in a rush. He just hoped that he didn't have to come face to face with that man; shuddering as he remembered the sick and twisted personality the man had. He really didn't want to be anywhere near him since every memory he had of that man had left him damaged in some way. 'Naruto? Are you alright?' Minato's voice startled Naruto from his thoughts so carefully Naruto looked up. Golden eyes meeting with blue; he gave a nod before turning to the other two shinobi who seemed to be talking incessantly to his father. Ah, they were the two students. He saw two curious sets of eyes watching him and felt his breath hitch when the Uchiha launched himself at Naruto and straddled his stretched out legs. He was talking to Naruto but Naruto didn't understand; he was feeling overwhelmed. He shivered slightly and flinched when a hand bunched in his black shirt and pulled at him. He didn't know if he was in trouble or if he had upset the boy but he knew one thing; he would never be able to hurt a child. 'Hush Naruto; he's just a bit over exuberant. He won't hurt you; well maybe not intentionally.' Naruto calmed immediately. His breath leaving him in a rush; those eyes. They reminded him of himself when he was much younger. That desperate need to prove himself and never getting acknowledgement. He raised a hand and buried it in spiky black locks and gave a closed eye smile. 'He does know I'm deaf right?' Naruto asked tentatively as he raised an eyebrow. The dark haired boy seemed to chat to him incessantly and not even caring if Naruto didn't understand a word. He heard Minato's chuckle in his mind. 'Yes Obito does know; he just likes taking. Besides he's just praising you and practically begging that you teach him Rasen-Shuriken.' Naruto's shoulders stiffened immediately; he wouldn't place the burden of learning the Rasen-Shuriken on anyone but himself. With desperate eyes he looked up at Minato; even though he saw the frown marring perfect features and Obito's adorable pout he didn't break his decision. He would not do it; not in a million years. He couldn't do it! 'No.' Naruto said simply to Minato as he pushed himself to his feet; he gave a tired smile to the two students before reaching for his cloak and settling his scroll across his back. 'I'll tell him Naruto but at least give me a reason why you wont.' Naruto turned sad golden eyes to Minato and gave a soft, sorrowful smile. 'I don't want to pass on Rasen-Shuriken because of the risk it carries with its use. Even I was forbidden from using it until I could control Sennin Chakra because it literally destroys your body's cells and will eventually stop you from being able to meld any chakra. It is a high risk; S-Rank technique that requires huge amounts of chakra.' 'The likes of which cannot be found in anyone but a Jinchuuriki.' Naruto replied softly before slapping his hand over his mouth; realizing what he had just given away. Naruto panicked. He ran; it was the only thing he knew how to do. he didn't want to see the hatred in his own father's eyes nor the disgust of what he contained. It hurt and now he had just revealed what he was hoping to keep a secret from everyone. 'Please, please, please don't hate me. Don't push me away.' He begged softly; he couldn't believe he had just reigned in his emotions only to ruin everything. Fate really hated him. He wanted to sob and scream but he could do either; so instead he ran. The world around him became a blur and he streaked across rooftops towards the Hokage Mountain. He was upset because the Yondaime's head was not carved yet and that was his favourite place to sit and think. Instead he opted for the Nindaime's head and sat; pulling his legs to himself as he curled into a little ball. One day and he had already ruined everything; he wondered again why he was still alive... ----------------------------------- ------------------------------------ Thanks for reading!
