Sasuke
slammed the door of his and Kakashi’s rental car and allowed himself to relax
into the small bubble of privacy the shiny metal shell created. The raven
haired agent relaxed further still as Kakashi got into the driver’s side, the
solid thunk of his door leaving the raven basking in the fact that he could now
talk to his partner freely about this horror of a case without the many eyes
and ears of the Dancing Leaf surrounding them and trying to grab hold of any
information that they could.
“Well
that took a lot longer than I expected,” Kakashi mumbled as he looked at his
watch, “I’ve never had so much trouble processing witnesses before, it was like
complete anarchy in there. We’re not going to have time to go to Arabian Nights
or the Snake Pit now; those two will have to wait until tomorrow.”
Sasuke
ran a hand through his rumpled hair with a tired sigh, really feeling the jet
lag starting to kick in now, “can we just go back to the hotel room then, I
could use a few hours of sleep before going through all the stuff Tsunade gave
us to look through.” Normally Sasuke wasn’t one to put off work, especially
when the case was so urgent but if someone had asked him to describe his
current mental and physical state at that moment he would have been tossing up
between a zombie or a comatose vegetable.
Kakashi
clucked his tongue as he started the engine and headed back out into the
streets of Los Angeles, “not yet I'm afraid, we still have to report to the LAPD
that we’re here. I called them this morning when I arrived and told them we’d
be in as soon as you landed.”
Sasuke resisted
the urge to rub his temples; he really didn’t want to deal with the local police
at the moment. They would most likely want to have briefings and discussions
and he hadn’t even read half of the paper work on this case yet so he’d be
going in handicapped and ill-informed which left him wide open for criticism,
something he hated and only tolerated from his brother and sometimes even Kakashi.
The
Uchiha berated himself silently, there weren’t even a full twenty four hours
into this case yet and already his work was mediocre. He should have just
thrown Kakashi’s warning out the window about not reading the case file on the
plane and got it over and done with then, the little old lady and the
impressionable teenager on either side of him be damned, “how are you going to
explain why we’re so late, my plane landed hours ago.”
The
cloth over Kakashi’s mouth crinkled as he smiled behind it, “oh I’ve already
dealt with that. When they asked for your arrival time I pretended my phone was
having trouble. Information about when you’d be here died a painful death,
drowning in static and white noise.”
The
raven looked at his elder partner and teacher with an incredulous look on his
face. Sometimes the man was just too much and how he managed to continuously
get away with his crazy little schemes and lies was beyond him. Grunting in
understanding Sasuke decided not to press the issue and let Kakashi have his
fun in giving the local law the run around, knowing that it would come back to
bite the silver haired agent in the arse eventually.
Twisting
around in his seat Sasuke leaned into the back of the car and grabbed his black
leather briefcase off of the back seat, intending to use the car trip as a
chance to get up to speed on the case and then hopefully get a little further ahead
using the information that he had just gathered from talking to Tsunade’s
employees. Though as he read through the information the LAPD had provided them
with he found that he was more interested in his own notes about the young men
and women he had just spoken to and before he knew it his mind was drifting and
reviewing the past few hours.
***
“So I
assume you’ve got some questions for me?” said Tsunade as she lead the two
agents through the bottom floor of the house, moving swiftly toward the back of
the first floor and throwing open the door to her office, “so let’s get right
to it shall we, I'm busy getting ready for tonight.”
“Well of
course,” Kakashi replied as he ogled the woman’s behind and ignored Sasuke's
glares for doing so as they followed her into the office and took the seats
offered, “three of the victims so far have come from your establishment, did
you notice anyone strange hanging around them prior to their deaths or perhaps
some strange behaviour of their own?”
Tsunade
sat at her own seat across from them and bit her lip, “not that I can think of
really, they all had their regulars and they didn’t lodge any complaints with
me about anyone else. Most of my customers follow the rules I have set out
here.”
“Rules? Like
what?”
“Just
the usual stuff really, using safety words and making sure they respect the
various boundaries of their partners,” Tsunade explained offhandedly as she
pulled out two full lists of the rules from a draw in her desk and handed one
to each agent, “we also have restrictions about how much you can purchase from
the bar area to limit any problems that might arise from intoxication.”
Sasuke
looked up from the list of rules and regarded the woman behind the desk with a
questioning eye, “you said most of your customers, so who hasn’t been following
the rules?”
Tsunade narrowed
her honey coloured eyes at the raven haired agent, “you don’t miss a thing do
you,” she sighed as she reached into another draw in her desk before pulling
out a thick black leather envelope,
“this is a list of every man or woman that has ever walked through the door of
this establishment and done something wrong,” she let the envelope fall to the
desk top with a resounding thud, “I have a clear standing on what happens when
you break the rules here. If you do your banned for life,” the blonde relaxed
back into her chair and motioned for one of the agents to take the envelope,
“take a look, I can assure you that some of the things you’ll see in there will
turn your hair white,” Tsunade smirked at Kakashi and gave him a little wink,
“well maybe it’s already too late for that.”
Kakashi
chuckled politely but his mind wasn’t really focused on Tsunade’s strange sense
of humour, he was more focused on the fact that the envelope she had given them
was so large. If every establishment had something like this they were going to
have a lot of suspected to go through which would just give the real serial
killer more time to plan out and execute his next attack.
Seemingly
undaunted by the growing size of their suspect list Sasuke took the envelope to
study later, “what about their personal lives, do you know if the victims were
having any problems on that front?”
The
woman sighed and rubbed at her temples, “I encourage all my employees to come
to me if their having problems regardless of the nature, whether it be business
or personal related but in the end I'm still their boss and they feel more comfortable
talking to each other about that sort of thing than they do talking to me. Can
I ask why you want to know about their personal lives?”
“In two
of the victims cases they were found butchered in their homes but there were no
sign of forced entry in either case, in fact all of the windows were unlocked
and open, the same with the front door. So we have a theory that our killer was
at least known well enough to be trusted by those two separate victims,” Sasuke
explained, “so can we speak to your employees?”
Tsunade
gave a short nod before leaning forward and putting her elbows on her desk and
resting her chin atop her linked hands, her face suddenly becoming serious, “I
know the police were trying to keep this investigation as quiet as possible and
that’s understandable. I'm not sure about the other establishments but I know
we service some pretty high end clients here who would rather their names be kept
out of the spotlight especially in conjunction with a murder investigation. I
don’t care about that; I just want my boys to be safe again. I don’t care what
you have to do or who you have to drag into the light to solve this thing and
catch the sick bastard doing this.”
“That’s
one thing the police wouldn’t do for me, they seemed to care more about
protecting the names of the high and mighty than catching the one who did this.
It makes me really wonder what else they’ve tried and succeeded to sweep under
the rug over the years,” Tsunade slid a file over the desk that had been
sitting there since the interview started, “this is a complete list of all my
clients. I know the police have probably already given you a copy of this but I
suggest this is the one you stick to. Who knows what names they erased from the
one you already have.”
Both
agents were silent but they took the file regardless. When asked about the way they
had been handling the case the unit of the LAPD in question had simply said
they didn’t want to cause fear within the public. No one in the unit had ever mentioned
anything about important people having connections to the establishments being
targeted by the killer and it would be interesting to see if any of the
deceased had, had sexual relations with those important people since there was
no mention of that in any of the police reports Kakashi or Sasuke had read
through yet, even if there were still a few left to go through.
Seeing
that she had stunned both agents Tsunade stood from her desk and cleared her
throat, “everyone will probably be in the back stage area getting ready for
tonight or doing some last minute rehearsals if you want to talk to them. I can’t
promise you much privacy though or a hell of a lot of time to speak to each of
them individually. I can however show you a supply closet or two that you can
use for your interviews. There not much and the doors and walls are paper thin
but it’s better than nothing.”
The
agents nodded and then followed Tsunade out of the office that she locked
behind her, she may have trusted her employees but it still wouldn’t have the
do to be snooping in her files and she didn’t want to give then the temptation
by leaving her office unlocked even though she knew that dancing and sex wasn’t
the only skills they had. The art of lock picking also seemed to be a practiced
past time for a few of them.
The
group walked in relative silence for a while before Tsunade shot a question
over her shoulder to Sasuke, something she had been thinking about ever since
she’d seen the young man’s face and the toned body hidden well beneath his
suit, “so Sasuke, have you ever thought about dancing before?”
If Sasuke
could have choked on air he would have. Had Tsunade seriously just asked him, a
federal agent, if he had ever thought of standing on a stage and dancing around
while strangers watched? After a few moments though the raven composed himself
enough to answer the strange and definitely unexpected question, even if his
voice was now an octave or two higher, “umm, no?”
“Pity,
you could make a lot of money with a face and a body like yours,” Tsunade
commented off handily but somehow it sounded to Sasuke as if she were trying to
convince him to at least give it a go, “one of our favourites here only ever
dances, sometimes on stage but mostly private shows and he makes more money
than some of my all-rounders do. He could make more if he was willing to have
sex with his clients and I’ve been offered ridiculous amounts of money to try
and coerce him but both Neji and myself have always turned them down. I’d never
make him or any of my other employees do anything they didn’t want to just for
the money in it.”
“Their lucky
to be here and not out on the streets,” Kakashi commented as he thought about
some of the cases he had worked in the past where prostitution had been
involved and they never turned out well. The life was hard and it only got
harder as the women and men of the business got older, that is if they even
managed to live that long.
“I know
that, and they know that two but it’s still not the best of lives,” Tsunade
said quietly, “the only problem with running an establishment like this is that
you get to know the people who work here and you begin to wish that things were
better for them. They might be safer here and I take some comfort in knowing
that I’ve given them a little bit of safety but at the end of the day their
still selling their bodies in order to live,” Tsunade stopped when they came to
a door at the end of a hall she had been leading them down in the back of the
first floor, her head hanging, “their so much more than just wears to me. They
deserve to be safe just like every other average Joe in this damned city.”
Tsunade
drew in a breath before letting it out in a long sigh and then turned around to
face the waiting agents, her head held high once again, “they might be scum in
the eyes of most of the people in this city but that’s not what they are to me
and that’s not what they are to each other,” she fixed both Sasuke and then
Kakashi with a steely glare, “their people and their also my family so treat
them with the respect that they deserve. You might be federal agents here to
investigate a serial killer but you still have to follow my rules just like
everyone else. You understand me?”
“We’ll
do our best not to disrespect anyone but you have to understand that this is a formal investigation,” Sasuke said
as he finally regained his full composure after dealing with Tsunade’s odd
question, “they will need to answer all the questions we ask and some of them
will be difficult for them, but they must answer all of them truthfully and
with as much detail as possible. If they resist then we’ll only have to assume
that they are hiding something and take them into custody for proper
questioning.”
The raven
glared back at the blonde woman, coal eyes meeting honey as he continued, “you
said before that you wanted your employees to be safe. That is what it’s going
to take and that is what we’re going to do. Or job is to catch this sick freak
before he strikes again, not to worry about the feelings of your employees. Do you understand me?”
The two
continued to face off for a few moments before Tsunade conceded, turning away
from the two agents, effectively breaking eyes contact with the Uchiha and ending
their glaring battle. She wouldn’t disrupt their investigation. No that wasn’t
right, she couldn’t disrupt it. She didn’t know if she could stand being called
down to the morgue one more time or if she could deal with seeing another one
of her employees shattered in the way she had seen Izumo be when he heard about
Kotetsu. She may have been angry about the way they had been treated by law
enforcement in the beginning of this case but Tsunade realised that it was more
important for her to work toward protecting those that she had left; they
needed her protection more than ever now.
Smirking
inside at her new found resolve Tsunade decided it was time to give the two
upstanding, straight and narrow agents a taste of her world and threw open the
heavy oak door before turning to the agents whose eyes were wide at what had
been revealed, “This is backstage, everything goes on here. I know you
gentlemen would probably prefer to have this conversation in private as well as
privately interview my employees but we’re right in the middle of preparations
at the moment so this is what you have to work with. Well this and the supply
closets.”
She
stepped aside and ushered the men in before closing the door but remained standing
back, giving them a chance to take in what they were seeing, giving them the
opportunity to see what their work was really about, to see the preparation
that went into being beautiful enough to make romantically committed people
lose themselves in lust for another.
It was
chaos, but that was really just how it looked. Bodies moved left right and centre,
gathering clothes and props, applying makeup and doing hair, helping one
another get ready for the night that was ahead of them. They all moved but they
moved as one, an indication that they had done this all before, that they were
all comfortable with one another; they knew what they were and what they were
preparing to do. They accepted it as they did each other and took the helping
hand where it was offered. It was chaos yes, but it was organised.
Sasuke
thought the place was classic really, like everything he had ever seen in old
1960’s movies. There were bright lights around the mirrors, the only real
lights in the room, illuminating the made up faces, some complete while others
still remained plain with just a little eyeliner here and some lipstick there
while bathing the rest of the room in a muted golden glow that made the sequins
and fake diamonds on clothes glimmer and dance as if they were alive.
Glitter and makeup took up every available
surface and there were even a few feather boas hanging over the backs of
chairs. The air was hot, stuffy and smelt of hairspray, old perfume and sweat. Costumes
hung from wire racks and there were lipstick kisses on the mirrors next to photographs
of family and friends, people that may not be proud of their loved ones current
profession but were still too precious to forget.
Tsunade
smiled slightly as she watched the reactions of the agents before clapping her
hands to get everyone’s attention, needing to get the ball rolling, “alright everyone
this is Agents Hatake and Uchiha, their here to ask you some questions about
the murders,” at that a chorus of groans filled the moderate space, s few
people waving curling irons and brushes saying that they had too much work to
do to be answering questions.
Tsunade
glowered at her employees, “and is the work you still have to do more important
that catching the sicko that has murdered and will most likely continue to murder
our friends?”
Her
question was met by silence and a few shameful looks before a sob broke the
tense atmosphere and a man with chocolate brown hair hidden under a bandana ran
from the room with tears falling down his cheeks, a blonde who looked far too
young to be working in such a place hot on his heels.
Tsunade
sighed and leaned into Sasuke a little, “ that was Izumo that just ran out the
door, please treat him kindly,” the blonde woman turned her attention back to
the rest of her employees, “I want you all to give these men as many details
that you have about anything, even if you think its trivial.”
Tsunade
turned to a pair at one of the closer dressers and tapped a long hair man on the
shoulder, “Neji once you’re done with TenTen’s hair so you think that you could
show the agents two of our more empty supply closets to conduct their
interviews in?”
Neji nodded
his affirmative, his long brown hair flowing over the pale contours of his bare
chest, the only thing stopping both agents from mistaking him for a woman, but
then again the form hugging black leather pants he sported didn’t leave much
room for error either.
As Neji finished
off TenTen’s hair, fashioning the short brown strands into three buns on top of
her head with practiced ease Sasuke found himself shuddering uncomfortably as lavender
eyes took him in, slightly put off by the gaze. He was attractive sure, but
Sasuke couldn’t see the appeal that made him one of Tsunade’s best assets. Neji
just wasn’t his type.
“Hey
Sasuke how about you go with Neji and I’ll go and take care of Mr. Kamizuki’s
questioning now. If he has things to do tonight he’ll need time to calm down
afterward,” Kakashi said as he continued to watch Neji as he helped Tenten out
of her seat, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek and handing her a full length
dark purple qipao style dress off of a nearby rack.
“No I
think I’ll deal with Izumo,” Sasuke said as he realised that through the whole
time they had been in the dressing room that Kakashi’s eyes hadn’t once left
Neji. The brunette may not be his type but to man like Kakashi who had no real
type to speak of the beautiful man was a godsend.
Sasuke
gave the taller man a pat on the back and a discrete wink as silver haired man
gave him some tissues before he left the dressing room from the way he had come
in, instantly hearing soft sobs coming from somewhere near the entry of the
house.
Following
the sound Sasuke eventually found Izumo in the company of the blonde who had
chased him sitting on the staircase that lead to the second story of the house.
The blonde was sitting on the step behind Izumo who was nestled in between the blonde’s
legs. Tan arms were wrapped protectively around Izumo’s shoulders and a chin
was resting on top of his head.
Izumo had
taken off his bandana, freeing shoulder length chocolate brown tresses and he
was now using the dark blue fabric to wipe his streaming eyes. Coming up the
stairs Sasuke silently held out the tissues he had liberated from Kakashi and
the brunette took them with a shaking hand and thanks in his watery eyes.
“I'm
Sasuke Uchiha, do you mind if I sit down and maybe ask you a few questions?”
Sasuke knew he had to tread carefully with the bereaved man, it was quite clear
that he was emotionally fragile at the moment and as much as he needed
information from Izumo, Sasuke wasn’t about to go after it at the cost of another’s
sanity.
Izumo
nodded quietly, giving his consent to being questioned and Sasuke took out his
note book and just as he was about to sit down the blonde tensed and his hold
on Izumo tightened, “You don’t have to talk to him right now if you don’t want
to Zumo,” Sasuke widened his eyes as fierce cobalt blue eyes locked with his and
narrowed, “how rude do you wanna be? Show some heart and give him some time to
calm down alright, I'm sure you have other people you can question!”
Sasuke
just blinked at the blonde, frozen halfway between standing and sitting. No one
except his father and his superiors ever talked to him like that. It was
strange to have someone who should be trying to make a good impression on him
speak to him like that and what was even stranger was the fact that he couldn’t
bring himself to tell the blonde off or speak to him in the same rude manner
that he had been addressed.
Izumo
put his hand over the blondes and the blonde looked down at him, the death
glare he had just been directing that the Uchiha immediately softening as he
looked at the tear streaked face, “its okay Naruto, I want to help like Tsunade
said.”
Naruto sighed
and wiped away a stray tear on Izumo’s cheek before disjointing himself from
the brunettes back to give them some privacy but Izumo’s dark eyes flashed with
panic and his hand tightened around the blondes, stopping his retreat, “please
stay with me,” the brunette turned his fearful eyes on Sasuke, tears beginning
to fall down his cheeks again, “that’s alright isn’t it? He can stay can’t he?”
Sasuke
frowned at the question and the pleading eyes that were boring holes into him. Letting
the blonde sit in on Mr. Kamizuki’s interview would go against protocol since
he hadn’t yet been ruled out as a suspect and he wasn’t the mans lawyer but the
Uchiha suspected that Izumo was one short step away from a total breakdown and
that he most likely wouldn’t be able to handle this interview without some form
of emotional support present.
The raven
nodded and sat, his sense of empathy winning out over his sense of duty and
getting the better of him. He had never lost a best friend before, someone whom
he could say he was close to. It was true that his parents were both dead but
he suspected that losing a friend would be different and he had never been that
close to his parents to be particularly affected by their deaths.
Both his
mother and his father had always been so busy with their own lives, often
forgetting about him completely. When he was younger the raven used to think
that his older brother Itachi was the only family that he had in his life and
as he grew that thought grew as his parents missed mile stones in his life that
his elder brother was always sure to attend.
Sasuke’s
chest tightened at the thought of losing Itachi. The man had practically raised
him while all the while raising himself. The Uchiha regarded Izumo as the
blonde resumed his pervious position, offering Izumo all the comfort that he
could muster. Is that what he would be like if he ever lost Itachi, if the man
who was his brother and best friend all at the same time were to be suddenly
ripped from him?
He
shuddered at the thought of it, knowing that he would indeed be in the same state
as Izumo, if not worse. Finding a clean page in his not book Sasuke took down
the time and the date before looking up at the pair on the stairs above him, “I
have one condition in having your friend stay Mr. Kamizuki and that is that he
doesn’t say a single word to try to influence you at all during my questioning.
If he does he’ll have to leave immediately,” Sasuke affixed Naruto with a glare
of his own, his dark eyes cold, “do you think that you can handle shutting up
for a couple of minutes?”
There it
was, the retort Sasuke hadn’t been able to give before when he had been trapped
in those incredible blue eyes and the return of his attitude left the raven
feeling refreshed and more than able to deal with whatever this case had to
throw at him, for the moment at least.
Naruto
thought stayed annoyingly quiet, clearly taking Sasuke’s threat to remove him
to heart, choosing to take the verbal blow silently in order to stay with the
friend who needed him and that fact slowly began to build Sasuke's respect and tolerance
for him.
“So you
and Mr. Hagane lived together?” Sasuke asked, deciding it was time to get the
ball rolling, there were still a lot of people to question before they started
work for the evening.
“Y-yes.
We’ve been best friends since our first year of high school and when we moved
here we got an apartment together,” Izumo answered quietly, still using the
present tense to describe his relationship with his friend.
“In the
past few weeks had Kotetsu ever mentioned anything strange happening to him.
Odd phone calls or a particular client showing more attention to him, maybe
even someone new he was servicing?”
“No not
really, I mean our work does entail dealing with the occasional jerk who can’t
take no for an answer but Tsunade always deals with them,” Izumo put his head
in his hands before he continued, “there was this one thing thought but at the
time I didn’t take any notice of it. It was about a week before he…died.”
Izumo
swallowed around the conformation that his best friend was now dead, clearly
saying the actual words were hard for him. Though who wouldn’t want to stay in
a state of denial for as long as possible after losing someone who was so important,
“It was a Sunday and we both had the night off so we just decided to stay in
and watch some movies. Before we went to bed Kotetsu checked that the door and all
the windows were locked like he always does and when he was checking the window
in his bedroom I heard him scream before he came running into my room. He said
that there had been someone out in the street watching him.”
Izumo
took his head out of his hands and used the tissue Sasuke had given him to dab
at his eyes, “but when I checked there was nothing there, I just dismissed it
as Kotetsu and his over active imagination again. He always says he can handle
horror movies but he ends up sleeping in my bed every time we watch them.”
Izumo
lifted his teary eyes to Sasuke who was diligently taking note of all the
information he was being given, “do you think that I should have listened to
him, do you think that what happened that night could have had something to do
what happened to Kotetsu?!”
Sasuke
stopped writing for a moment to gaze at the other man with a sombre expression
on his face, “I don’t want to rule anything out that the moment as its far too
early in the investigation to do that but I also so want you to blame
yourself,” in a rare comforting moment for the Uchiha, Sasuke gently placed a
hand on Izumo’s shoulder, “what happened could have been nothing and even if it
was something there’s a chance it won’t even be connected to this case after
all. There are a lot of strange and sick people out there Mr. Kamizuki. Still
if anything else ever happens like that again I want you to call the police as
soon as you can.”
Sasuke
pulled away and took a card from his breast pocket, flipping it over and
writing Kakashi’s number on the back, “this is my number, you should always be
able to reach me and if you can’t I’ve written Agent Hatake’s on the back,”
Sasuke handed the card over, “once you’ve informed the police be sure to call
us either one of us right away or if you need to talk I'm sure Agent Hatake or
myself will be more than happy to assist you.”
Sasuke
tried to keep a caring look on his face and his eyes blank but inside a deep
worry was growing. If what had happened to Mr. Hagane before his murder had
anything to do with the case then that meant the serial killer was openly
stalking his victims, calculating and watching for patterns in behaviour to
determine the best time to strike.
Kotetsu’s
body had been found in a park that was very large and very much in the open and
after hearing what Izumo told him Sasuke guessed that he now knew why. If the
killer had been watching Kotetsu the he had most likely seen his victims habit
of checking his door and windows, leaving him with the only option to approach
Mr. Hagane in the open, “ I don’t know if your aware or not but Mr. Hagane’s
body was found in Elysian Park, in particular the Bishop Canyon area. Was that
a place he often frequented?”
“Kotetsu
used to play baseball in high school and it was his favourite sport so he liked
to jog in the area,” Izumo let out a low sob before continuing, “h-he said he
liked to go there to reminisce and get lost in good memories. He liked to see
the new generation making memories of their own around the sport that he
loved.”
So Kotetsu’s
body was found in a place that he usually went, a place where he was easily
accessible. He may still have to cross check the information he was receiving
with information he got about the other victims habits but the theory that the
killer was thoroughly stalking his prey beforehand was becoming more and more
plausible.
“Has
anything strange like what happened to Mr. Hagane happened to you at all?”
Sasuke asked, suddenly worried that Izumo may be a new target. After all,
during his time stalking Kotetsu the serial killer must have picked up some
information about Izumo’s habits. Half of his work was already done and now
with Kotetsu gone Izumo would become that much more accessible.
“Nothing
strange at all has happened to me. I don’t have any new clients either,” Izumo
leaned back against the blonde and hugged himself, “Tsunade had just been giving
me back stage work to do so if I need time to myself I can take it when I need
it,” Izumo moved his arms up to wrap them around Naruto’s at his shoulders,
“everyone is taking really good care of me.”
“Well
just to be on the safe side is there anyone that you can stay with or call to
come and stay with you? It’s just a precaution but I’d feel much better knowing
that you’re not alone,” Sasuke said the words but he didn’t really believe
them. He wouldn’t feel better until he could organise a police escort for the
young man or at least a regular drive by of his apartment building.
“My
mother is flying in from Boston later this week to stay with me,” Izumo mumbled,
“it’s horrible to think that it took a close family friend being murdered to
make my parents talk to me again. Do you know that when Kotetsu and I refused
to go to collages our parents picked out for us and ran away our families
completely cut us off but stayed friends with each other.”
“They
kept having Christmas together and going on big combined vacations like we always
used to before we left. It was like me and Kotetsu didn’t even matter, our
friendship brought our families together but they didn’t even need us. I
suppose they might have just done it to keep up appearances though, society
would have scowled at them if they had have known that the oldest sons of each
family were so rebellious.”
Sasuke
glared at the page he was writing on, he knew what it was like to have a family
like that, a family who cared more about how they looked to the world then how
happy their children were. A family who cared more about their last name then
about letting their children follow their dreams.
Thankfully
though he had, had Itachi. His older brother had been more than happy to bear
the brunt of their parent’s ambitions for their children as long as his younger
brother would be happy. Itachi was also the eldest so Fugaku Uchiha had been
more interested in grooming Itachi to one day take his place in the family
business.
As long
as the elder Uchiha knew that he had Itachi he had been happy and he thankfully
hadn’t put up much of a fight when Sasuke had told him that he had plans to
join the FBI. That day had been one of the worse days of his life, he had been
so nervous and yelled so much that by the end of the day he’d had no voice
left.
But at
the end of the day though, with his brother at his side, he had gotten his way
and also his father’s blessing, something that he had never expected in a million
years. Eventually his father had even become interested in his work, going to
far as to say that he was proud of his youngest son for following his dreams
and doing his country a service.
He
sometimes felt bad for his older brother though, having to give up his own
dreams so that he could live out his but recently thought that feeling was waning.
The reason was that his brother had just last Christmas revealed a secret to
him when he had given him a rare painting from his favourite artist, Akatsuki.
The
secret was, was that Itachi was the artist Akatsuki. He used the name as a penname
to keep his identity a secret from the public. What would people think if they
found out that the ruthless CEO of one of the world’s largest shipping
companies liked to paint in his spare time and that art was where his passion
really laid?
Sasuke
had broken down that Christmas, apologising to his brother profusely for having
to pretend to be something he wasn’t, for having to spend his life doing
something he had no love for while keeping his real talents in the dark and all
of it for him. Itachi had just laughed though; hanging up the painting above
his younger brother’s fireplace telling Sasuke that he would do all that he did
and more because when Sasuke was happy he was happy.
The whole
episode had absolutely baffled the youngest Uchiha and even now he couldn’t
fathom why his brother was so devoted to him having every happiness that he
wanted but as a result he had recently been returning the favour, organising
more regular time off for the elder man so he could have more time for his
passion and helping Itachi with the family company whenever and how ever he
could.
“Well I
think that just about does it for today, “ Sasuke said as he closed his note
book, noticing that Izumo had become quite sombre after talking about his
family, “if you need anything or think of anything that might be helpful please
don’t hesitate to use the numbers that I gave you. I also have your number on
file so if anything comes up or I need to talk to you about anything else I’ll
be in touch.”
Izumo nodded,
thanking Sasuke quietly before standing and taking Naruto’s hand to pull him
along with him but Sasuke stopped him, “if it’s okay I’d like to question
Naruto now. I’ll be as quick as I can.”
Blue
eyes flickered to Sasuke and darkened in anger before he looked back to Izumo,
“Hinata should be in the sewing room still, why don’t you go and sit with her
for a little bit and I’ll come get you when I'm done.”
Izumo
nodded again before thanking Sasuke once more and disappearing down the stairs,
leaving the pair alone in an awkward silence as Sasuke once again went through
the procedure of taking down the date and time as well as anything else he had
already noticed, all the while trying to ignore the blonde’s constant fidgeting.
“That
wasn’t like any of the questionings I’ve ever seen on TV, you didn’t ask him
where he was on the date Kotetsu died or anything. Are you sure you’re an FBI
agent,” Naruto narrowed his eyes sceptically, rubbing at the strange whisker
marks adorning his cheeks.
Sasuke’s
eyes widened indiscriminately when the marks didn’t smudge, he had been under
the impression that they had been makeup when they actually seemed to be
permanent tattoos, “I am and FBI agent, if you don’t believe me your more than
welcome to see my badge,” Sasuke watched the blondes mood brighten with excitement
as he handed over his badge and he had a slight feeling that he’d just been
played, “besides on TV they only ask people where they were when they consider
them a suspect. Do you think that I should consider Mr. Kamizuki as a suspect?”
Naruto
looked up from where he had been running his fingers over the engravings on the
ravens badge, “of course I don’t, Izumo wouldn’t hurt a fly…we’ll not unless
that fly was trying to hurt Kotetsu.”
“Then
you understand why I didn’t question Izumo about where he was when Kotetsu was
killed,” Sasuke said scribbling down a few things, “how old are you Naruto,
when I saw you in the dressing room I thought you looked a little young to be working
in a place like this.”
Naruto
pouted like a child and he flushed angrily as he crossed his arms over his
chest, “I’ll have you know I turned twenty-one in October.”
Sasuke smirked
at the blonde’s antics, finding the fact that he was so easily irritated quite
amusing, enough so to put aside the fact that Naruto was acting like a child, a
trait he normally hated seeing in adult people, “well that’s good, I’d hate to
have to momentarily suspend this investigation because Tsunade was employing
people who are underage.”
Naruto’s
eyes went wide, “Tsunade would never do that. She saved me, she saved all of
us.”
Sasuke
nodded at Naruto’s indignant defence of his employer, “she seems like a good
person and I don’t see many of them when it comes to this type of work. But why
do you say that she saved you?”
It wasn’t
really a question that was necessary to the investigation but Sasuke didn’t
care. He was curious and he hoped that the blonde would indulge him and not
notice that fact that his question was totally irrelevant.
Naruto
bit his lip and lowered his eyes to the ground; he knew that this was an
investigation and that he was being asked questions by a federal agent but that
didn’t make him want to answer any more than he would have if he was talking to
a normal person. The blonde sucked a breathe in through his teeth and decided
to suck it up, the sooner he answered agent Uchiha’s questions the sooner he
could get back to work.
“My dad
and his partner died just after I finished high school. We didn’t have a lot of
money and what money we did have saved went to paying their funeral bills,”
Naruto began to explain, “I had to get a job and I wasn’t having any luck. I
was about to lose my apartment when a man approached me and asked me if I was
interested in a job at the Snake Pit. He told me it was a club, he didn’t
mention anything about the other stuff they did there and I was so excited to
finally have found something that I didn’t question it.”
Naruto
gulped and a stray tear fell down his cheek, “Tsunade found me wandering after
my first shift. I don’t really remember much of what happened that night. Tsunade
used to be a doctor a long time ago and she said I was in shock and that’s why
I don’t remember anything clearly, like my mind just wiped itself clean or
something. Anyway when I went back to the Snake Pit the next night to do my shift
Tsunade was there waiting for me. I didn’t even make it through the door before
she was grabbing my wrist and dragging me out of there and telling me I was to
never go back.”
“I
protested and yelled and screamed. I didn’t know what was going on and no one
seemed to want to tell me a thing. She dragged me here and threw me straight
into the dressing room, telling me to make myself useful and not to get into
any trouble. At first I continued acting up but then Kotetsu…he sat me down and
told me that Tsunade had made a deal with the owner of the Snake Pit to get me
out of there. I’ve asked her so many times what she had to do but she never
tells me. Everyone else says it cost her a lot to do though because when
Orochimaru wants something he doesn’t let it go easily.”
“Why did
she have so much interest in you,” Sasuke asked, interrupting Naruto for a
moment, “it sounds to me like she may have just wanted you for herself.”
“No she’s
not like that,” Naruto said a little more loudly than necessary, his rising anger
affecting his tone, “after my first shift that night I asked her the same
question. I was so confused as to why someone would just randomly do something
for me and my head was reeling. She pulled me into her office and showed me a bunch
of old photos that had my dad’s partner in them. Apparently he used to dance
here and this is where my dad first met him.”
“She
knew so much about me, apparently after retiring my dad’s partner had stayed in
touch with her. She had photos of me from when I was a baby and everything, it
was like she was my grandma or something, having all of these things sent to
her from my parents,” Naruto finally looked at Sasuke and smiled, “it was like
finding out that I wasn’t really alone in the world anymore, I still had family
even if she wasn’t blood.”
Sasuke
blinked at Naruto for a few moments, still taking in all the information. He
had been fully prepared to believe that Tsunade had simply wanted Naruto for her
own in order to get an edge on the competition. The blonde was beautiful after
all what with his tanned skin and incredible blue eyes. He was unique and the
raven doubted he would be able to find anything else like him either in the
Snake Pit or Arabian Nights.
Now
however he was being told that Tsunade had basically swooped down like a
guardian angel and saved the venerable blonde from ending up in a place that
would most likely do him more harm than good. The Uchiha wondered just how many
other storied he would hear like this before the night was through, “you don’t
need to worry about Tsunade, Naruto. At the moment I'm not considering her as a
suspect.”
“But you
might later on,” Naruto whined, “Tsunade has no reason to hurt any of us. She
puts too much effort into protecting us all and helping us to throw it all
away.”
“I
admire the fact that your trying to defend her but if I find reason to suspect
her I'm not going to simply ignore it because she’s a good person, but like I
said you don’t have worry about it,” Sasuke scribbled something on his note
pad, watching as Naruto’s eyes widened, worrying that he might have said
something bad, “so Naruto where were you on the nights of August 1st,
August 18th and September 2nd?”
Naruto
lowered his eyes, “I was here working just like every other night, you can
check TenTen’s logs if you like. She on the door and handles most of the paper
work when it comes to arrangements between customers and employees. Am I a
suspect Sasuke?”
“Well if
you were here and the logs back that up then no, at least not for the murders
of Mr. Sarutobi, Mr. Akimichi and Mr. Hagane-”
“You
think I would murder my friends,” Sasuke was interrupted by Naruto’s enraged
outburst, the blonde standing from his position on the stairs and towering over
him, anger flashing in his blue eyes.
Sasuke
sighed as he looked up at the shaking blonde; this interview was going downhill
quickly. All he wanted was to get the information he needed and go back to the
hotel room for some much needed sleep, “I didn’t say that, I just asked you
where you were. It was the same question you thought I should ask Izumo,
remember? Now where were you on the nights of July 29th, August 10th
and August 24th?”
“I-is
that when everyone else…when they were-“
“Yes
those are the dates of the other three killings. How don’t you know, it been
all over the news,” Sasuke frowned at the blonde who plonked himself back down
on the staircase next to him.
“I don’t
have TV so I don’t get to see a lot of news. One of my friends works at Arabian
nights though and he was really upset about someone being murdered over there,
I didn’t know the date though,” Naruto sighed and put his head in his hands, “everyone
is so freaked out about this, normally Tsunade and the head of the snake pit
are at each other’s throats and Temari from Arabian nights just keeps to herself
but for the past week they’ve all been organising our living and traveling
arrangements so none of us are ever alone,” the blonde let out a shaky breath and
rubbed at his eyes as if he was tired, “not that, that did much for Izumo and
Kotetsu though.”
“Well it
did more good than harm, at least for a little while,” Sasuke said quietly, “so
you know people from both the Snake Pit and Arabian Nights? Would you tell me
about them, maybe a bit about this feud that’s been going on?”
“I don’t
really know much about it, but at first I thought it was just the fact that the
establishments were to close together and they didn’t like losing business to each
other but then I found a picture in Tsunade’s office of her and Orochimaru when
they were younger. Apparently they knew each other a long time ago and had some
sort of falling out. Temari from Arabian nights just got dragged into the whole
mess I suppose and she won’t back down to either Tsunade or Orochimaru since
she needs to keep the place going to provides for her brothers.”
“Do you
know anything about Orochimaru and Tsunade’s falling out?” Sasuke asked, again
out of his own curiosity.
Naruto
shook his head, “no one ever really talks about it. I asked Kabuto about it
once and not even he knows and he’s like Orochimaru’s best friend. He works at
the Snake Pit but he’s an alright guy once you get to know him and he’s smart
to. Kabuto knows everything about absolutely everyone but he knows nothing
about Orochimaru and Tsunade’s problems.”
Kabuto, that will definitely be a
name to remember, Sasuke
thought as Naruto began to tell him about the man. If he was really as
intelligent as Naruto said and knew so much about the people around him then he
could be a fantastic source of information.
“So can
I go now, I’ve still gotta get my hair and makeup done and do a run through of
my dance for tonight before we open. I'm guessing you have a bunch of other
people to question as well,” Naruto gave Sasuke an unsure smile and handed the
ravens badge back to him. He still wasn’t sure if he should be worried about
being a suspect or not.
“Sure go
ahead, I can’t think of any other questions that I might have for you at the
moment,” Sasuke mumbled as he flipped through his noted to make sure he had
covered the basics, “you’ve actually been pretty helpful Naruto, thank you.”
Naruto
blushed at the praise, glad that he had been a help to Sasuke’s investigation
even though he didn’t know how he’d been any help at all, and bounded down the
stairs happy to finally be away from the pressure he had been feeling under Sasuke’s
scrutiny.
“Oh hey
did you want me to grab someone else for you to interview? I can find someone who’s
already finished with all their prep for tonight so you won’t be pulling people
away halfway through their work, it’ll make them like you better and they’ll
probably be more receptive to questioning if they’re not unhappy about being
interrupted,” Naruto suggested as he reached the bottom of the staircase.
“That’s
actually a pretty good idea,” Sasuke said as he stood from his seated position
and followed the blonde after straightening his clothes, “how did you think of
that?”
“I'm not
just a pretty face you know,” Naruto pouted, “besides society is bombarded with
enough true crime television these days that even the average Joe knows a thing
or two about the law and how things like this are run.”
“So you
are just a pretty face,” Sasuke teased, “just one that watches a lot of television.”
Much to
Sasuke's surprise the blonde didn’t rise to his bait but instead gave him a
sultry wink, “I'm not just a pretty face. I'm a hot body too.”
With that
comment Naruto strolled down the hall like he had all the time in the world,
making sure to put an extra sway in his step for the Uchiha’s viewing pleasure.
Naruto knew that it wasn’t the smartest thing in the world to mess with an FBI
agent but the blonde figured that as long as he wasn’t breaking the law then
there was nothing Sasuke could do about it.
Besides
as far as he knew being sexy wasn’t a crime in Los Angeles, in fact it was the
staple that many of the city’s occupants built their careers on, him and
everyone else currently in the building, apart from the FBI agents of course,
included.
Naruto finally
heard the shuffle of shoes behind him and guessed that the Uchiha had finally
managed to follow him. He didn’t doubt for a second that for the last few
moment Sasuke had been, and probably still was, staring at his arse.
Naruto
glanced over his shoulder to check if he was right and saw that the agents dark
eyes were indeed a bit quite lower than was appropriate and Naruto cleared his
throat to get the man’s attention, “I’ll show you to the closet where you can
do your interviews. It won’t do to have you questioning suspects out in the
open on the stairs especially not when patrons start arriving. That would be
horrible for business and anyone could overhear.”
“What do
you think is going on here Naruto? I mean you seem to know this business and
the people pretty well so you must have some opinion,” Sasuke asked in a last
effort to get more information out of Naruto that he may have missed.
“Honestly,
I think it’s just another sick fuck that can’t take no for an answer,” Naruto growled
out, “people come in here all the time with the idea that they can have whoever
they want whenever and however they want. When they find out that the majority
of us just dance or only deal with specific clients they get mad. Eventually
most of them get the picture though, it never goes any further than a little
obsession with whoever they wanted. This is the worst it has ever been, no one’s
gotten hurt before.”
Sasuke
stopped when Naruto suddenly did and waited impatiently as the blonde pulled a
bunch of keys out of the pocket of his impossibly tight jeans and unlocked an
old oak door, “here we are,” Naruto chortled as he flicked on the light switch,
lending a sickly yellow glow to the small room, “it’s just a supply closet, you
know brooms and stuff. Feel free to move whatever you want if you need more
room.”
Sasuke
tried not to grimace at the sight of the supply room. When Naruto had said and
stuff what he really meant was countless years’ worth of half empty bottles of
cleaning products mixed in with old, moth eaten stage costumes that were now,
judging by the state of them, used as either rags for cleaning or cleaning in.
“Uh…thanks,”
Sasuke knew he had managed to keep the slight disgust out of his features over
the state of the supply room when Naruto gave him another wink before bouncing
off toward the backstage area to find someone else for him to question.
Stepping
into the supply room Sasuke realised that there was going to be just enough
room for him and another person if neither of them wanted any personal space.
It was going to be very intimate, boarder lining on extremely uncomfortable
especially when the door was closed.
As Sasuke
stood staring into the small dirty space without really seeing it he longed for
a sterile interrogation room and just as he was considering removing some of
the mess from the room someone cleared their throat from the doorway to get his
attention.
Turning
the Uchiha found a girl standing there whose name he remembered to be Tenten. Sasuke
sighed quietly, it was too late for him to empty out the room now, it looked
like he’d be dealing with an uncomfortable amount of closeness to his suspects
for the rest of the evening.
Sasuke
motioned for Tenten to come in and close the door behind her. If he was going
to be uncomfortable them he might as well get his interviews over and done with
as quickly as possible.
***
Sasuke
closed the door of the supply closet behind his last suspect and slumped
against the cool wood with a heavy sigh. He was totally physically, emotionally
and intellectually drained by the ordeal he had just gone through.
Tsunade
had told her employees not to beat around the bush while being interviewed, to
give all the information they had straight up and not to withhold anything. Her
employees, however, had seemed to have other ideas.
He
supposed he couldn’t blame them really. Most of them had come from horrible
backgrounds and even now they didn’t live the most charmed of lives. Keeping
things to yourself was something you learned to do and eventually it became
ingrained in your personality.
The
Uchiha had seen it before and was trained to deal with it but no matter how
many times he dealt with people who had picked up most, if not all, of their
survival instincts on the street he always found the experience just as
irritating as the last.
Oh how
he longed for a suspect who would answer his questions as straightforward as he
asked them. What was the point of dodging questions and giving answers that
were more like riddles than anything else when you had nothing to hide anyway?
It was a pointless waste of time and energy.
Putting
his things away Sasuke finally left the tiny room, closing the door with more
force than necessary and smirking evilly when he heard a clatter some from the
now closed off room as one of the many stacks of junk fell to the floor.
Making
his way down the hall Sasuke was relieved when he saw Kakashi escorting a young
man with a ridiculous haircut and the bushiest eyebrows he had ever seen out of
another small closet. He was certain that he would have had to search
everywhere for his partner, wasting more time that he could have been spending
asleep.
“Is that
the last of them?” Sasuke asked once the boy was out of earshot, barely suppressing
a yawn as he did so.
“Yeah,
thank god,” Kakashi said exasperated, “I don’t know if any of the information I
got is going to be worth anything, they were all too busy protecting their own
arses to give me much.”
“Yeah
same here,” Sasuke mumbled crossing his arms and checking his watch, it was
getting late and the establishment would be opening in less than half an hour,
“I got a little information thought, this one kid Naruto was pretty helpful. He
told me about some guy at the Snake Pit called Kabuto; apparently he’s the kind
of guy that knows everything about everybody.”
“His
name popped up for me a bit too,” Kakashi agreed, “it’ll probably be difficult
to get the little bugger to talk to us though.”
Sasuke
didn’t disagree with his partner in that respect, Kabuto sounded like the kind
of man that made a good part of his living off of the giving and receiving of
information and they’d be lucky to get something for nothing out of him.
“If
we’re done here can we get going,” Sasuke said irritably, not really wanting to
stand around discussing their case, “I'm seriously running on empty here.”
Kakashi
rolled his eyes at his younger partners inpatients, “we’ll say goodbye to
Tsunade first and let her know that she and hers are free of our scrutiny for
the moment. It wouldn’t do any good to be rude and leave without saying goodbye
when we might have to come back again.”
With
that Kakashi strode off down the hall and Sasuke had no choice but to follow
him unless he wanted to spend time looking for him later. The silver haired
agent led Sasuke back to the backstage area and the raven stood aside as his
partner asked around about where he might find Tsunade.
Backstage
was quieter now, it wasn’t the hive of activity it had been when they had first
arrived. The only people still milling around were those due to preform and
others with nothing to do but help them get ready. Sasuke guessed that since
the establishment was about to open everyone else was already at their posts
waiting to attend to their patrons and make sure everything ran smoothly.
Sasuke
leaned against a wall and let his head fall back against it. Closing his eyes
and taking a few deep breaths Sasuke let himself relax a little and listened to
the quiet hum of activity around him, frowning when he heard dulled music amongst
it.
It had
to be coming from the connecting stage area judging by the dulled quality since
the area was soundproofed. But why would somebody be dancing so early, had the
Dancing Leaf opened ahead of schedule? The raven shook his head at the thought,
a place like this wouldn’t open early simply because customers had showed up before
schedule but it was far too late for someone to be doing a run-through of their
performance.
“Hey Sasuke,
snap out of it,” Sasuke opened his eyes and glared at Kakashi, huffing as the
man simply ignored his irritated look and lead him out of the room, expecting
him to follow.
And
follow he did. Sometimes Sasuke thought that Kakashi knew him to well, it
helped them work well together but at the same time it annoyed him more than
anything else about his job. Kakashi didn’t lead him too far and as soon as
they reached a pair of large double doors Sasuke knew where they were going.
The pair
entered the stage area and the first person they ran into was, thankfully, Tsunade.
The blonde woman turned to them with a massive smile on her face, ushering them
over to where she was watching what was happening on the stage. Sasuke’s eyes
however, were already there.
Naruto was
dancing on the stage in nothing but an oversized white business shirt that hit
him at about mid-thigh and showed off a pair of lacy black panties when he twirled.
Sasuke knew nothing about dancing but if he had to guess he would have said the
boy was dancing a style that was a mix of contemporary and ballet. There was no
grinding or gyrating in an attempt to make the performance overly sexual like
he had been expecting of the dancers here. It was simple and almost elegant.
His feet
were bare and his hair had been styled to look perfectly dishevelled and there was
a light dusting of sliver glitter on his cheeks, accentuating the strange
whisker tattoos, as well as on the rest of his tanned body that, as far as Sasuke
could see, was devoid of any hair.
That was
it; there was nothing else on the stage. No props to use or anything else
distract the audience from the main event. There was just Naruto and the music which,
like the blondes dancing style, was not what the raven agent had been
expecting.
There
was no heavy beat and dramatic changes in the rhythm of the music to highlight
a certain step. It was a slow, melodic tempo with lyrics sung by a man who seemed
to know exactly what heartbreak felt like. Sasuke knew that he would soon be
finding that song on iTunes and downloading it immediately.
Noticing
the wrapped look on Sasuke’s face Tsunade smiled, “he’s beautiful isn’t he, I love
to watch him dance but at the same time I hate it because I wish I could give
him more than this. Men come in here night after night to watch him dance; it’s
his innocents that attracts them. The fact that he isn’t dirtied by this world
of ours makes onlookers salivate and all they can think about is finally being
the one to destroy that purity.”
“Naruto always
takes it in his stride though, no one had ever been able to taint him the way
they want to and he uses his dances to laugh in their faces for even trying. He
doesn’t need costumes or props in his shows to make men and women want him, he’s
the show in and of itself.”
“He’s
certainly talented,” Kakashi cleared his throat as he hurriedly wiped at his
mouth when Tsunade made the comment about salivating, relieved to find that he hadn’t,
“well we just came to tell you that we’ll be leaving now and thank you for your
time.”
Tsunade
smirked, “it was no problem really but are you sure your partners ready to
leave?”
Kakashi looked
to where Tsunade was directing her gaze and was shocked to see that Sasuke was
just as wrapped in the blondes performance as he had been, not looking incredibly
disinterested like he had been expecting to younger to be.
Kakashi
stepped up to Sasuke to try and get his attention but the man’s dark eyes
remained riveted on the stage. The silver haired agent sighed before waving his
hand in front of his partners face to get the others attention.
Sasuke stepped
back a bit when Kakashi waved his hand mere centimetres from his face before
looking back at the stage to where Naruto seemed to be finishing his dance and
then back at Kakashi. How long had he been standing their staring mindlessly at
the blonde for? Clearly long enough for Kakashi to get agitated.
In a
similar gesture to Kakashi, Sasuke cleared his throat before nodding to Tsunade
in thanks for her time and following Kakashi, who was now waiting for him by
the door, out of the stage area. Leaving the room Sasuke looked back one last
time as Naruto’s music finished as the blonde stopped moving he looked straight
at Sasuke and winked, a devilish smile lighting his features.
Sasuke
blinked in disbelief, the blonde had known the whole time that Sasuke had been
watching him; he had known the effect his dance had, had on the raven and was
now teasing him for it.
Unable
to fight of the blush that Sasuke felt stain his cheeks the raven slammed the
door to the stage area with as much force as he could muster, finally cutting himself
off form the sorted world of the Dancing Leaf.

A: N: so
everyone wanted to know what the pairings are for this story. All I can really
say is that it will not be kakasasu and there will definitely be some, if not a
lot, of action between Sasuke and Naruto because I'm a bit of a whore when it
comes to them as a pairing. Also thanks to everyone for sharing information and
links with me, in particular Jen who
went a bit crazy. I did a bunch of research and then some more because I kind
of got addicted; serial killers are just so interesting. I’ll do my best now to
keep this fiction as accurate as possible to the American law system and police
and stuff. Thanks for reading.
Also if
you want to check out the song Naruto danced to its called Hold On by Limp
Bizkit and you can check it out here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hoq1qF204UU
It is
one of my favourite songs of all time and I have the pleasure of going to see
the group preform in a few months.
