*Sorry this chapter is so short!! I know it really sucks so far but hope to learn as I go to make it all pull together and turn into something fun to read. (Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or make any money from this story.)
Chapter 2 Past Moments in Time “Naruto!” I like the sound of it. It’s a good name so we’ll call him Naruto.” Kushina Namikaze smiled as her growing little boy moved inside of her. Her heart squeezed in pain at the tremendous amount of joy she felt carrying her precious son. She had waited patiently for months reading everything she could get her hands on about babies and child development. Minato would laugh as he walked into his home and witness his wife dancing around (If that’s what it could be called, looked more like a duck waddle to him though he wisely kept those thoughts to himself. He rather preferred her warm body to sleep next to then a night on the couch.) She had read something about babies and music and thought the added benefit of dancing to music would keep her and the baby healthy and in shape. Kushina was sure he would be a boy because he was so active and never seemed to sleep. (He never seemed to sleep when she desperately needed to sleep. Going on no or little sleep and he wasn’t even outside in the world yet. It gave her an idea of what to expect when he did make an appearance.) For months she had craved nothing but ramen noodles. This she blamed on Minato because she had never liked them till after she found out she was expecting. Ramen addiction was a Minato trait and looked to be their sons as well. Like father like son so they say. Now an obsession with ramen was not a healthy diet to live on for nine months. So Kushina made sure she ate only healthy foods first at any meal and allowed the ramen craving afterwards like a treat. She wanted her son to grow strong, healthy, and handsome like his father.
Minato loved to tease her that she was going to give birth to a bowl of ramen noodles rather then a son. (Such comments usually earned him a pillow thrown into his face.) Many enjoyable and happy memories were spent with the two laying down and marveling at the changes in their life. Minato would rest his head against his wife’s large round belly and talk to his son for hours. He would wait with his hand resting on the naked mound to feel the kicks and punches of tiny fists and feet. The thrill he felt when he saw the little bumps move across the exposed skin just had him excited in anticipation for the times ahead where he could hold his son and talk to him in person. He was so proud of their little miracle.
Naruto their little blessing was so precious, wanted and loved and he wasn’t even out into the world yet. It was so hard to imagine how much their love would still grow once they got to hold him because they loved him so much already. They couldn’t wait for the day he would be born.
