~Prologue~
Learn to Love
~Prologue~
She ran. She ran as fast as her bare chakra pumped feet could carry her. She was tired, hungry, sore and running low on chakra but she kept on running. She didn’t dare stop out of fear that if she did it would ruin her already slim chance of actually escaping. She could feel her adrenaline already starting to dwindle away. ‘Come on Sakura you can do this!!!! You just need to get far away and stay low for awhile.’ So she kept running, throwing the forests green tangled webs of brush out of her way. Her lungs where on fire and her feet were cut and bruised. She tried to focus on her surroundings but couldn’t locate his chakra signature anywhere. She gave a quick glance over her shoulder and panicked when he wasn’t there. She pumped more chakra into her feet knowing she was pushing herself to the limit. ‘Where is that bastard?’
“Sakura” he whispered her name with a dark chuckle. A whole new wave of adrenaline came over her. She pushed herself even further fighting for every step. She had to get away. ‘I’m gonna make it, I’m gonna make it, I have to make it’ she thought with tears sliding down her face. She could feel her legs starting to go out. ‘Come on!!! I can do this I can do this!!!’ but no matter how much she mentally encouraged herself her body wouldn’t listen. Finally her petite body collapsed onto the forest floor in a heap.
She laid there in a scrunched up fetal position staring at the ground watching her tears slowly mixing with the dirt. She could see his shoes walking around her to her front and crouching down. She looked up at him through her tear blurred vision with hateful eyes. He had been ahead of her the whole time; he had just been toying with her, giving her false hope just so he could rip it away for his own sick amusement. Sakura hated him. He was a sick sadistic cruel bastard and she hated him. More tears began to trail down her face and onto the cold surface of the Earth.
“Was that really necessary Sakura-chan?” Itachi asked reaching out to tuck her soft pink hair behind her ear showing her dirty tear streaked face. “Did you really think that you had a chance? That I would let you go?” Itachi cupped her face and tilted her head so she could get a better look at his face. “Because that is never going to happen Sakura,” his voice was cold and serious. His crimson eyes narrowed “You belong to me.” He picked her tired figure off the forest floor and cradling her in his arm carried her back to the Akatsuki base.
