A/N: I may just make this more than an Oneshot, I haven�t decided yet�it depends on how well I get this story going. Anyway here�s another chapter.
Waiting
Sakura sat at the table; she had two plates on the table, one in front of herself and one across from her. They both had rice, bacon, and eggs on them. This was her everyday routine for months now.
She would wake up to a cold, empty bed. She would immediately get up and walk into the kitchen and make breakfast, which she only picked at, but would set two plates down as if hoping it would bring Genma back to her.
Once she cleaned the table, about after an hour, she would then get dressed and get ready for work. She worked everyday, almost all day long. Tsunade actually had to knock her out and bring her home, before she would stop.
Sakura sighed as the clock said she�d been sitting there for an hour now. She sighed and stood up and cleaned off the table, �I can�t continue like this, I�m going crazy without him, but no one has any leads all anyone found was a senbon covered in blood�but it might be someone else�s, he�s just fine. I know he�s alive no matter what anyone says.� She thought as she finished with the table and walked into their room to get dressed
She no longer had tears to cry, she would suffer over and over again as she woke up to an empty bed everyday, but she couldn�t cry anymore. She had cried for two weeks straight, especially when they wouldn�t allow her to leave to go find him, but she knew she wouldn�t help any. She would only get in their way and that could risk Genma�s life�which she was not willing to do. Instead she worked in the hospital everyday, silently hoping that the next patient that walked through the door would be Genma.
Once Sakura was dressed she left their house and began to walk down the street towards her work, not paying any attention to the glances of pity from other�s eyes. She saw Ino walking towards her and shook her head before Ino�s question left her lips. She didn�t need to hear it; she asked the same thing everyday, �Come by for a bit after work Sakura?� She grit her teeth and put on a fake smile, �Sorry Ino, I�ll be working late, a lot of patients today.� She continued to walk to her work. �I just can�t do it, if I go over there�I�ll see her with her husband and her daughter�Something I want so bad, but don�t have.�
Now don�t get her wrong, she was happy for her friend, but she wished more than anything that she had it too, and it ripped her apart inside to see happy, smiling families everywhere. She stopped as Naruto jumped in front of her, �Hey Sakura! I was wondering if you wanted to go with me and Sasuke out to dinner. We�re of course only going to have some ramen, but I figured we could get the team back together for a bit.� She gave her fake smile again as she opened her mouth to answer.
But once again she was stopped as he stepped closer with a serious look on his face, �Look Sakura��he almost whispered, �I know a fake smile more than anyone, don�t try and pull this shit with me. You will be joining Sasuke and me for dinner if I have to knock you out and drag your ass there.� He then stepped back with his normal smile, �See you at seven Sakura!� He waved and took off at a run toward Sasuke.
Sakura sighed as she continued to walk, �I guess I have to go to dinner tonight.� She muttered to herself as she walked into the hospital. She watched people running around in a hurry. She frowned and shook her head, �And yet I love my job.� She thought as she headed toward Tsunade, who was patiently sitting in a chair and apparently waiting for Sakura, �Yes Tsunade-sama?� Sakura placed her fake smile back onto her face and waited.
Tsunade sighed as she stood, �Sakura�I need to speak with you in private, it�s important.� She watched as Sakura�s face scrunched up a bit in confusion. Tsunade walked to a room and held the door open for Sakura. She watched as Sakura walked into the empty room with a guarded face.
�It�s about Genma isn�t it?� Sakura said once the door closed. She didn�t really need to ask, she knew the answer already, but she was hoping it was good news, but she wasn�t stupid. She saw the slow nod from the blonde, busty woman.
Tsunade waved her hand to a chair, �Sit down Sakura�� When Sakura shook her head and refused to budge she sighed, �Sakura please, this is hard enough as it is�� She waited, but Sakura didn�t even bat an eyes, her face was completely void of anything, �Shit, she�d make Itachi proud with a blank face like that.� She sighed again and decided to just get it over with.
�Tomorrow, we will be holding a funeral in honor of Genma.� She still saw no emotion cross her young student�s face, �Sakura did you hear me?� She stared at her young blank face, �She�s lost some weight�� The clothes on Sakura, that use to fit her form so well, now were a bit to big for her.
Sakura nodded slowly, �I heard you Tsunade-sama, but you shouldn�t do that. He�s coming home soon. I know it�� She looked down at the ring on her finger, �He promised��She whispered not really sure if it was to Tsunade or herself. She then snapped her head back up as she looked the woman in the eye, �And I promised to wait, and I�ll wait forever if I have to.� Once she stated that she turned on her heel and walked out the door.
Tsunade shook her head, �Can�t blame the poor girl, she really does love him, but it�s been a little over two months now. She needs to accept the fact that he isn�t coming home.� She shook her head again and went off to finish with the making of the ceremony.
Sakura ran into the bathroom and leaned over a toilet as she lost anything she had eaten during breakfast. Once she was sure she was going to be okay she wiped her mouth with some toilet paper and leaned against the wall. She resisted the urge of smacking her head against it a good couple of times, �KAMI DAMMIT!!!!� She screamed inside of her head. They couldn�t think he was dead, sure it had been a few months, but there was no body and no way to prove he was dead, �No way to prove he�s alive either.� Her inner self told her, �He�s alive I know it, he never breaks a promise!� She argued with herself.
Sakura sighed as she stood up and walked to the door, �Time for work�� She thought bitterly as she plastered a fake smile onto her face and walked out.
Sasuke looked over to his boyfriend and shook his head, �Naruto, she�ll be here quit fidgeting.� He said as he placed a hand onto Naruto�s leg to keep it from bouncing.
Naruto gave him his big cheesy smile and nodded, �I know, I�m just impatient�� He said, but really he was just hoping she did show up, he was so worried for her. He began to subconsciously bounce his other leg before Sasuke growled out him name and snapped him back to the real world.
�I�m going to break both of your legs usuratonkachi, if you don�t stop!� Sasuke growled out, he was worried too, but did Naruto see him fidgeting? No.
They were both pulled from their thoughts as someone joined them, they both snapped their gazes up to see Sakura�s fake smile plastered on her face, but that�s not what worried them. Her eyes, those bright green eyes, were now dull and almost a grey color, she was like a walking, talking puppet. It was as if she had no life in her anymore.
Naruto looked to Sasuke and frowned as if asking what to do, but he didn�t like the answer, because the look Sasuke gave him was showing that he was about as lost as Naruto.
Naruto was about to ask her what she would like to eat when they heard several people running by and distant shouting. Naruto got up and looked out of the shack, he stopped a running passerby, �Hey what�s going on?�
The man looked past Naruto and saw a pink haired girl, �Sakura-san, please come quick we need you.� We he saw her look up at him with a questioning gaze he said one sentence before pink zoomed past him, �There�s a man at the gate, injured badly�it�s Genma.�
He turned then to talk to Naruto and Sasuke, but they just zoomed by him as well and headed after Sakura. He turned to watch them run and smiled, �Finally she can smile again��
A/N: I know this is very short and kind of crappy, but I have homework I have to do and I have to go by my college and buy a new book. Anyway just let me know of any mistakes I�ve made or give me some advice on how to make it better. Anyway please review! Love yall!
