Okay, so I know I olnly got 5 reviews, but I couldn’t help but post this to see what you think. It may be crappy because I’m kind of half-asleep. But… here it goes! Thankyou for reviewing everyone! I love you!

Chapter 1: The Best Thing

Chocolate brown hair fell around Naruto’s sleeping face like a curtain of protection, shielding him from the eyes of the judging world, and the hurt of reality. It had been a whole week since the blonde’s attempt at suicide.

The doctors had told him that Naruto had fallen into a self-induced coma. The fact that the pretty blond no longer wanted to be alive, to be near Haku hurt the young man immensely, making him feel the need to cry. He did not let himself cry, however, he would be strong for Naruto, just as Naruto was strong for him when Zabuza had died.

Haku sighed. Without Naruto to keep him in check, he had been acting up school, at home, and even at work. (a place where Haku was normally happy and chipper.) The kind-eyed boy stroked Naruto’s whiskered cheek thoughtfully, his young heart aching. A small part of him wished for Naruto to never wake up. The blond looked so peaceful while he lay still on the hospital bed. If Naruto was truly happy in his own little world, that small part of Haku wanted Naruto to forever stay that way…even if it meant Haku’s own unhappiness. As long as the blond baka was smiling, Haku could get on with his life. As long as Naruto was no longer hurt.

“I won’t let anyone hurt you anymore, Naruto-chan. You’re my most precious person. You’re safe with me. Daijoubu.”

Sasuke growled angrily. Where the fuck was Naruto? The stupid dobe hadn’t been to school in a week! Sighing, Sasuke remembered some pink haired slut⁽¹⁾ telling him that Naruto was in the city hospital. He smirked; oh how he would love to see Naruto’s watery, pain filled eyes! Just the thought of bringing the little blonde misery made him chuckle. The face Naruto made when angry was cute, but nothing compared to the one he made when crying. Large round azure eyes filled to the brim with tears, his lips drawn up in a combination of a snarl and a pout, Sasuke shuddered, deciding to focus on the road instead of his deranged fantasies of torturing poor Naruto. He blinked his dark eyes in slight surprise when he realized he was parked outside the hospital…Engine off and everything.

His eyes held and amused glint at the wary glances everyone was sending his way. Finally reaching the receptionist, he frowned and said steadily in his cold voice, “I’m here to visit Uzumaki Naruto.” The young woman frowned, grabbing a clip board off the counter and walking around to stand beside the young man, a busty, blonde doctor (who looked somewhere in her twenties)⁽²⁾ followed the dark haired woman. “Your name, sir?” She asked, her eyes regarding him as if he were some psycho serial killer. “Uchiha Sas-“ His sentence was cut off by a fist to his stomach, (courtesy of the busty blond) and a clipboard to the face. (Shizune being responsible for that.) He left before they started screaming all sorts of profanities at him.

He didn’t know that was the name Naruto had carved into his arms.

Haku sighed, Naruto was so….Warm. He pulled Blondie (one of his many nicknames for Naruto) closer, snuggling closer to the warm heat rolling off the boy in waves. He absently glanced at the clock…..Ugh.. He had to leave. His parents would be home soon. Damnit…I’ll be back, Blondie., he told himself. Quickly pecking Naruto on the lips, Haku scurried out of the hospital, throwing a hasty goodbye Tsunade and Shizune’s way.

He missed the hoarse voice begging him to stay just a little longer. And he missed the tears running down tanned cheeks. Naruto was awake. Crying, yes. He wasn’t sad, though. He was overjoyed. He was crying because he had a feeling his best friend, Haku, had sat next to him for the whole time he was in the endless darkness. He may have been in a coma, but for some reason…Haku’s voice had broken through the seemingly impenetrable dark abyss, showing him his way back into the world of the living.

But the best thing…was waking up to know someone cared.

1. Referring to Sakura… I kind of like her, but Sasuke seems like the kind of person who says that about any girl.
2. Did it sound familiar?

I know, this chapter is short. I just needed a filler chapter to fill you guys in on how everyone is acting. Sasuke will get stranger and stranger.. xD And Haku…well.. I haven’t decided what to do with him yet. It’s gonna get fluffy… and smutty pretty soon.
