A/N : haha here's this week's page early because tomorrow I start Nanowrimo and the first week of it is alway busy for me. :P Sorry for the atrocious grammar and any mispellings in advance. Word doesn't possess a wide Naruto vocabulary.

Their bodies moved swiftly through the forest, Sasuke and Kakashi taking front offensive position, followed by Sakura then Naruto in back offensive while Hinata watched the tail ready to switch positions with Naruto if under threat. Hinata and Sakura were not close range combatants on this part of the mission; if battle came up they had to conserve chakra, so any resistance would be dealt with by Kakashi, Sasuke and Naruto. Luckily there wasn�t any resistance except for a few old traps that they carefully avoided.

Sakura�s hair was pulled back in a tight braid its length had recovered and then some since her early Chuunin days when she had kept it short. At 22 Sakura knew where her priorities laid, and rarely wasted time with being a sexy ninja as she once did in Genin days long gone. She was a Jounin now, and a team leader thus her team and her mission held the most importance to her. Her legs pushed off the next branch watching her team mates and the area around her. Rays of sunlight seeped through the dark forest canopy warming the kunichi�s face. Those startling green eyes had witnessed many horrors but there was a spark in them that never seemed to die, it kept her going strong.

Sakura landed in a small clearing, crouching low then straightening up. Her comrades joined her. �Ok this is the place, scout quickly, Naruto set up your shadow clones where I told you to ok?

Naruto formed the proper seals summoning a large scale number of shadow clones that all dispersed in thier proper direction.

�Hinata�

�Right Byakugan!� Hinata did a quick area scan with Byakugan �Nothing suspicious there�s a couple old traps so be careful� With her words Sasuke, Kakashi and the real Naruto took off to their instructed areas.

�Now it�s my turn� Sakura smiled. A kunai sliced her thumb drawing blood and with it she wrote a set of seals down her other arm. She focused her chakra and began a long series of hand seals, that Tsunade had drilled into her mind. Her chakra surged forth and she slammed her palm to the ground. She panted keeping still for a moment, nothing seemed to be happening but Sakura knew better.

The lines of chakra beneath the earth were awakening to the force of her own chakra and its woven pattern. The earth trembled slightly; dirt shifted and cords of faintly visible chakra wires appeared. Sakura sank back on to her heels. �Ok Hinata, your turn again find any broken lengths?�

Hinata focused her eyes chakra pulsing out to extend her vision to its limits. �Hai! There are 4 completely broken links and 9 weakening ones. �

Sakura sighed �not as many as I expected. Hinata go fix them please when done tell a clone so the info can be forwarded instantly�

Hinata blinked was Naruto that fast? Hinata stared blankly at a near by clone who grinned and waved at her.

Sakura laughed waking the Hyuuga from her dreamy daze. �Shadow clones are odd. See when a shadow clone �poofs� all the information it�s gathered returns to its creator and also to any other existing clones. So that clone nearby is going to know when your done and tell me. If trouble starts somewhere a clone will �poof� and Naruto will be aware of it and any of his clones can direct Kakashi or Sasuke to the trouble too.�

Hinata absorbed this information quickly then headed off to her nearest target. A broken chakra line. Her chakra control was sharply honed and deathly precise. She channelled her chakra fixing it around both ends of the severed cords and reconnecting its flow. A chill wind lifted the raven locks, and they fell across her face. She seemed not to notice and she continued towards the next connection.

Sasuke flowed through the trees and right over the head of a shadow clone without missing a beat. Orange seemed to flash by his vision everywhere he went at least that meant Naruto was doing his job he supposed. Sasuke smirked passing by another Naruto clone resisting the urge to kick this one as he flew overhead. Cold and dark eyes roamed over the area; there was no need to waste his energy with the sharigan. A Naruto multiple stepped in front of his path waving its arms frantically. Sasuke cursed slamming into it. It disappear with a classic �poof� sound. He stopped in front of another clone. �What�s going on?� He asked his voice firm.

Kakashi went about the set strategy. His expression bored and his demeanour relaxed. He was impressed with the planning ability his former student possessed. She had an initial strategy and a secondary and he didn�t doubt she had at least a couple back up plans. Still he wondered if it was necessary to have so many Naruto�s around. Said Naruto clone hollered out. Kakashi�s focus shifted and his eye narrowed.

Naruto (the original�.but obviously not one and only) plunged through the trees racing along his scouting route. He flipped over himself and ducked between his legs. Really now was it so hard to get himself out of his way? At 6 foot something Naruto was a heart throb back in Konoha, he�d grown over the years and especially since retrieving Sasuke (much to the Uchiha�s ire) though his mind still seemed to be catching up. He was still a prankster and loud and annoying at times and hot-headed and well he was just Naruto but with a smidgen more maturity. Images collided in Naruto�s mind and he raced off towards where they brought him. Maturity (that miniscule amount) clouded his mind and he headed towards the disturbance.

Hinata huffed having finally completed the last connection. She sank back to catch her breath �Naruto-kun, Tell Sakura I�m done� She said aloud

She heard a �poof � follow a loud reply of �Awesome Hinata-Chan!�

Her heart lightened and she looked towards the forest canopy. She sensed it and rolled to the side as a kunai flew by her. She stood up and locked eyes with her opponent. A shower of kunai rained upon her. Her eyes narrowed and chakra surged.

Sakura slammed her hand down towards the ground focusing her chakra; the ground shook as the wires shifted back into the earth, unreachable once again to enemies. Her breath was hard with the immense use of chakra she�d just expelled. She didn�t notice it coming until the last second. Her drained body couldn�t move fast enough. Her eyes closed expecting a stabbing pain all she heard was a �poof� of a shadow clone saving her backside. She stumbled to her feet grasping a Kunai in hands that were clearly trembling from exhaustion. Lacerating wires whipped out towards her entangling her limbs leaving searing cuts over much of her body.

�Byakugen! � The dark haired kunoichi shouted as she dashed forward her hand extending and slicing at the wires with chakra. Sakura fell to her knees and stared up at Hinata. The Hyuuga�s vest had taken some damage but she didn�t seem seriously hurt. There was a dark stain coating her front and hands. She had obviously met some sort of resistance. Sakura took up her stance back to back with the dark haired girl.

�Where are they Hinata?� Sakura asked blocking a kunai strike.

� three of them in the trees one nearly directly above, one three o clock to us and the third keeps moving�and 5 more in the distance � She replied quietly her voice strained. Her chakra was getting low and she was aware that Sakura was probably running on pure adrenaline. A downpour of kunai came from all sides. Hinata took up her stance and Sakura ducked low.

Kakashi, Naruto and Sasuke converged each breathing heavily. �Sakura�s in trouble damnit!� Naruto shouted speeding his pace. He landed on a tree branch as Hinata swirled around and did her best to extend her area of protection to go around Sakura. He watched as her spin weakened and Kunai began to slice by her. �Hinata! Sakura!� he called plunging into battle without even knowing where his enemy was, completely loosing his advantage of surprise.

Sasuke and Kakashi sighed but used Naruto�s distraction to locate the hidden ninja�s. Sasuke sunk a hard whirling kick into the mist shinobi�s side. He stumbled back and vanished in a cloud of smoke. �A kawarimi?� Sasuke growled flipping out of the way as a foot and attached shinobi zoomed over his shoulder. He flipped his kunai and slashed at the mist ninja who in turn blocked with his own kunai. They locked gazes. Sasuke smirked his eyes reddening and his sharigan spinning. His eye contact was broken when he sensed another kunai and ducked out of the way. Two opponent�s faced him down. Sasuke smiled inwardly maybe this mission wasn�t so boring after all.

Sasuke fired off a memorized series of hand seals. Flames burst forth from his lips licking at the heels of his foes. A kunai headed at him and in his place laid a log. His opponent�s stiffened as they felt cool metal pressed to their throats. A bubbling noise followed quickly and then darkness. Sasuke wiped the blades of his kunai clean. Those ninja hadn�t been challenging enough for him.

Kakashi focused his attention on the female mist ninja who was opening weapon scrolls one after another. A weapons specialist like TenTen Kakashi figured. His own kunai flew through the air not targeting the ninja but her scroll which landed pinned to a nearby tree. She flew towards Kakashi ready to swing a punch; Kakashi�s knee met her rib cage. She slumped over and coughed blood trickling from her lip. Kakashi kicked her away as senbon hidden within her bandaged arms came to life shooting towards him. Kakashi avoided most and used the metal plate on the back on his hand to block the rest. Her hands began to seal but Kakashi was quicker, slamming her body into a tree. Blood dripped over her weapon scroll summoning the kunai. A sickening sound of many kunai shredding flesh hit Kakashi�s ears. Her mangled and cold form slumped to the ground.

Hinata�s movements slowed she felt her strength swaying and finally she couldn�t keep it up anymore. She fell over but felt arms catch her and lay her down gently. Her cheeks reddened as she realized who had caught her. He was smiling down at her. His remaining shadow clones crept from the shadows forming a shield around the two exhausted women. �How�s Sakura?�

Hinata leaned over the unconscious kunoichi feeling a steady pulse. �F-fine, she just used too much chakra. Naruto watch out!� she hollered as wire attempted to capture him. Naruto dodged just in time.

�Hinata where?�

�Just above us in the canopy!� she whipped a kunai out and Naruto followed its path into the trees. There was a sound of fighting and an audible splat as the wire user plummeted to the ground. Shadow clones forcing his descent and a leg roughly completed the Naruto combo.

Sasuke and Kakashi descended into the clearing. �One� Kakashi said

�I got one also!� Naruto chimed in.

�Two� Sasuke said smugly before glancing over at Sakura�s scratched up form �is she ok?�

�I counted 8 in total to begin with, there are 4 left� Hinata said drawing a Kunai.

4 forms dropped into view. All brandishing the abolished sound�s insignia. Sasuke eyes narrowed, he readied to strike but before he could he notice a pink haired Kunoichi�s hand move ever so slightly, pointing to a spot on the ground then flattening her palm. Sasuke smirked; team seven had a way of knowing what a team-mate was planning at the simplest of things. Instead of charging Sasuke forced a jolt of chakra into the ground. The earth shook and the four sound Nin were swallowed by the opening earth and hungry chakra phantoms. Sasuke repeated the step and the ground closed devouring the clueless sound ninja�s.

�Kakashi what jutsu was that?� Naruto shouted

�It wasn�t, Sasuke just triggered one of the primary security devices� his droopy eyes glanced at Sakura.

�6� sasuke smirked ducking a blow from Naruto and leaning over to help Sakura up. She slung her arm around him and stood without much success. Sasuke did the next best thing he slung the poor girl over his shoulder where she promptly fell asleep.

Hinata collapsed to her knees. It was now that Naruto noticed the multiple cuts on the female�s body and her trembling form. �Hinata-Chan?� He smiled and bent down offering his back to the girl.

�T-thank you Naruto-kun� She blushed shyly wrapping her arms around his neck.

Kakashi followed behind, flipping to the next chapter in his book.
