Thank you again to all who reviewed the first chapter!!!!
Light broke through the long, red curtains that dawned the windows of the young Hokage's home. Two blue eyes squinted as the glow of the sun rising stung his vision. Naruto yawned quietly, letting himself adjust to the feel of being awake and the lighting in the room. Naruto lifted his himself up, blinking several times as his mind replayed the previous night's activities. Sasuke. He had returned to Konoha. They had talked. Had a few drinks. Came back to his house...
Naruto was almost scared to look to his side; If Sasuke was still there, he knew that it wouldn't have been his imagination, and if he wasn't there... Naruto would assume that he had had a very vivid dream. A small sigh left his lips as he looked over at the other side of his bed, seeing the sheets next to him completely empty. Not occupied like he had thought they would be. The young Hokage sat silently in his bed, not knowing rather he was sad, happy, or confused at Sasuke's absence.
And just as Naruto rose to get out of bed, a door opened near him; The door to his bathroom to be exact. Naruto nearly fell out of his bed when he heard the sliding of the wood against the track, and the crack of it hitting the other side. Sasuke stepped out in all of his pale-skinned glory, a towel wrapped casually around his svelte waist. His eyes met Naruto's, drawn over by the sudden scream Naruto had let out by Sasuke's entrance, "...What?" his gruff voice broke the silence that had been created after the boisterous shout from Naruto.
Naruto stared a Sasuke for a few minutes before realizing that the other Shinobi had even opened his mouth, "Ah...?" Naruto blinked and pulled the sheets to himself, "You're here?"
"Yeah." Sasuke blinked, his expression not changing from the blank look he'd had when he'd exited the bathroom, "Obviously. After last night, I wasn't about to just leave." he let a hand fall to rub the crook of his back, "Its not like you were exactly gentle those... however many times you insisted we do it."
Naruto lost all the color in his face, "So..." and in that same moment, the color returned, becoming increasingly red at his cheeks, "We did sleep together then?"
"Yes. Unfortunately, we did." Sasuke let the towel fall as he draped his white gi over his shoulders, "Don't think we're doing anything like that again though. I'm leaving after I get dressed." he mumbled as he searched around for his pants which had been thrown somewhere in the midst of the previous nights activities.
"B-but..." Naruto's eyes fell downward, his heart sank at the thought of Sasuke leaving again, "Why can't you stay?" he gave the cold, Uchiha warrior a small pout, hoping to melt the ice that encased Sasuke's heart. Little did he know it did only more to make the frigid man even less prone to staying.
"For what purpose, Naruto?" His voice was calm. Again, it held a certain distance that Naruto could not understand. Or rather, he wouldn't accept.
"...For me. For Sakura. For your friends. For the people that care about you." Naruto frowned, "If not for them; Maybe for yourself? It's not like you have any reason to leave anymore, right? You got your 'revenge'. You're strong," he broke off for a moment, inwardly wondering if his reasoning was wasted on someone like Uchiha Sasuke, "We've all missed you." he sighed, almost talking to himself, "I've missed you."
Sasuke almost looked at Naruto with his last sentence, but his stubborn mind won over, "Well, that's your problem." he said quite coldly, "I told you before, Naruto, and I'll tell you again; I don't give a damn about you, or Sakura, or Kakashi, or anyone else in this damn village. I severed my ties with this place years ago. Why the hell should I come back here now?" the fluidity of his tone was chilling to the other shinobi.
"Because!" Naruto got up and grabbed Sasuke by his shoulders, throwing the slightly smaller man into the nearest wall. His fist tightened around the shoulders of the white gi, his eyes shifting from blue to a blood red almost. Sasuke was slightly intrigued by this; Was Naruto really so affected by him to unleash Kyuubi again?
"...I lost you once Sasuke. I am not letting you go again." Naruto's eyes were focused on Sasuke's, the other man still had no sign of any feeling in his vacant, charcoal eyes, "I didn't have enough strength to keep you from Orochimaru before, but now, I do."
Sasuke glanced at the fists clasping onto his gi, letting them trail slowly up to Naruto's eyes which burned with emotion, "...Just because you're Hokage now, Naruto, doesn't make you stronger than I am." he reached a hand up to Naruto's wrist and wrapped his finger around the slender limb, "Now let me go." he tightened his hand as hard as he could, "Before I get angry. You should know by now that I have no qualms about killing you."
Naruto took in a sharp breath at the force on his wrist; Admittedly, it did hurt. But Naruto was not going to let go. Not if it meant losing Sasuke again, "...I don't give a damn if you can kill me or not Sasuke. I just want you to stay here in Konoha with me."
Sasuke glanced at his once best friend, "...With you?" he scoffed, getting quite irritated by all the drama Naruto was creating, "Fine..." Sasuke grimaced, letting his hand drop from Naruto's wrist to his chest, pushing at the toned flesh with a small groan, "Now get off of me. And let go."
Naruto nodded a bit a let his hands loosen, but he didn't break the distance of their bodies. He took a small look at the beautiful, grimacing face near his own. Without a second thought he leaned down and kissed Sasuke's lip, letting out a sigh he'd been holding since their argument had begun. He pressed himself against the pale skinned body, realizing that neither of them was wearing any form of clothing other than the gi Sasuke had over his shoulder. The older Shinobi pressed against the chest threatening to press against his, letting out a small, strangled moan as Naruto's lower body came into contact with his own; Sasuke was easier to turn on than a light switch.
"Naru---to!" Sasuke tried to force Naruto's lips from his again, only to lose the battle; Naruto was, by far, a lot physically stronger than him now. The Kyuubi-containing Shinobi kissed him fiercely, and with as much passion as the blonde could muster. Sasuke couldn't even try and fight anymore, his lips were soon acting on their own accord, kissing Naruto back with as much intensity as he was given.
Sasuke sighed, inwardly berating himself; This was the second time he'd lost his will to fight Naruto off when he kissed him. And he didn't know why, but he assumed that it was Naruto's fault in some way. His arms brought themselves around the others neck, absentmindedly pulling the other boy closer to him. Naruto let out a very lust-laced moan as Sasuke's leg settled itself inbetween his, the blonde bucked against the pale limb with a low growl.
"Sasukeee..." Naruto extended the last syllable of of his name with a small hiss, grimacing as Sasuke's leg rose higher and created even more friction against his growing erection. He lifted his head up a bit, letting his eyes fall on the wall as Sasuke kissed his neck, running his nails on his bare chest. It was then that Naruto noticed that Sasuke's head was rested right near his calendar that he'd hung on the wall. And right next to one of Sasuke's various hair-spikes was a large, red circle around the date. He pushed Sasuke's hair away and read aloud, "...Important meeting with the other Village Leaders. Do not miss." Naruto blinked, noticing that it was Kakashi's handwriting do to the fact that it was actually legible unlike his own.
Sasuke sighed, "What are you going on about now, dumbass?" He let his nails trail further down his chest, "You started this, now hurry up and finish it."
"Chikuso(1)! I'm late!!" Naruto let go of Sasuke, leaping over the bed and out the door to where his clothes had been left the previous night. The usually calm, and silent shinobi blinked, his eyebrow twitching dangerously at the new predicament presented before him.
"Naruto..." He hissed in an eerily, obviously frustrated voice. Moments later, after the noise of Naruto getting himself dressed died down; Sasuke heard something that sounded like: "Don't leave! I'll be back later!" before the door was slammed shut.
The dark haired ninja let out a shaky sigh before walking over to Naruto's bed, trying to ignore the fact that he was still painfully aroused, "...Kono usuratonkachi (1)."
Footnotes ::
(1) ---- Chikuso - "Damnit!/Shit!"
(2) ---- Kono usuratonkachi - "That dumbass." Sasuke's long ass way of saying it though XD
"I'm late! I'm late!" Naruto ran through the doors of the main building, scaring quite a few residents as he jumped over or managed to slide under them in his hurry. This meeting was extremely important to all of Konoha; The yearly meeting where all of the 'kage' rank leaders of the hidden villages met and discussed everything from Chuunin Exams to festivals; A meeting that Naruto, as the Hokage, was supposed to be hosting at the moment.
"Osoi (1), Naruto..." Kakashi said as Naruto ran past him. The blonde skidded to a stop, his blue eyes wide as he saw his former teacher standing near the empty conference room which was supposed to already be occupied.
"...How?" Naruto pointed to the empty room, terrified that the other leaders had become fed up with his tardiness and left in anger, "They didn't leave already did they, Kakashi-sensei!?" Naruto feared the amount of apology letters he would have to be writing had his assumptions been correct.
The silver haired Jounin let out a lazy yawn through his mask, turning the page of the new "Icha Icha" that had just been released, "Nope. They won't be here for another hour or so. Hokage-sama." Kakashi gave him a small 'look' that was reminiscent of when they were student and teacher.
"...B-B-But!! My clock said it was noon! The meeting started at 11:30!" Naruto argued, confused as to how his clock had been so abnormally incorrect. Not to mention, he would have had plenty of time to finish with Sasuke before leaving...
"I set your clock back 2 hours. I had a feeling that you'd do something like this. Especially, with Sasuke's abrupt return late last night." Kakashi's eyes didn't fall from his page, but he knew Naruto had a priceless look of shock on his face.
"How did you find that out!?" Naruto nearly fell over, totally dumbfounded. For a moment he thought Kakashi had stalked Sasuke and himself around the previous night.
"I saw Sasuke brooding in that tree near the path to the Entrance of the village last night. I figured you two would meet up so I went ahead and snuck into your house to change the clocks. I had only planned on 1 hour originally, but after seeing Sasuke I knew it had to be two." Kakashi turned the page, his voice as nonchalant as it always was.
The Young Hokage glared, "...Well, just because I met him last night doesn't mean that he'd make me that late to my meeting." Naruto crossed his arms, a blush threatening to rise to his cheeks. He bit his lip, curious as to just how much Kakashi knew about his and Sasuke's little affair the previous night. He wouldn't put it past Kakashi to know everything from them talking to going back to his house to even sleeping with each other; For being a lazy man, Kakashi was quite the excellent, and thorough, Ninja. He knew that from personal experience.
"Of course, Naruto." Kakashi let out a small yawn again, his uncovered eye peering to the side as none other than Sabaku no Gaara, the current Kazekage of the Sunagakure, and his siblings walked down the hall. The maroon robbed, red-haired former Jinchuuriki's (2) eyes met Naruto's as the Hokage turned his head to him. Gaara's pale green eyes seemed to soften just slightly as they met with Naruto's, a barely visible smile crossed his lips.
"Naruto." the Kazekage looked upon the other village leader with his usual expression, it had been some time since they had seem each other; Naruto had been quite busy since he was promoted to Hokage.
"Gaara!" Naruto's face lite up with a genuine smile as he ran over to greet the Kazekage, "Hisashiburi, datte bayo (3)!" the Hokage grinned.
Gaara nodded, as silent as ever. He took a small look at Naruto, letting his eyes trail from the bottom of his cape, to the mess of blonde hair at his head, "You've grown since I last saw you, Naruto." Gaara commented without a change in expression; For a moment, he remembered how Naruto had once been a runt in comparison to himself and, especially, Uchiha Sasuke.
Naruto smiled again, putting a friendly arm around the other village leader as they walked down the hall, "I could say the same about you Gaara. So, how have you been? The Akatsuki haven't been causing you anymore trouble, have they?"
"No. They're haven't appeared since that incident a few years ago." Gaara glanced over for a moment, "What about you? I thought you were searching for Uchiha Sasuke, were you not?"
"Yeah. I was---am. Am." Naruto corrected himself, not totally sure if telling anyone else other than Kakashi about Sasuke was entirely the best idea; He didn't know if Sasuke's reputation as a Missing-Nin would cause trouble, "...I'm sure we'll find him." He smiled, trying to think of a way to get the subject off of Sasuke, "But enough about Sasuke. How have things been back in the Sunagakure??"
Footnotes ::
(1) ---- Osoi - "You're late!!", something that Sakura and Naruto use to, commonly, say to Kakashi when he was... late XD
(2) ---- Jinchuuriki - "Human Sacrifice" or the name for someone who contains one of the tailed (Bishuu) animals. Gaara once had the huge tanuki(racoon) Shuukaku sealed inside of himself before the Akatsuki removed it from him. Just for those who might not have known :D
(3) ---- Hisashiburi, datte bayo - "Its been a long time!" Usually said "Ohisashiburi desu" but in Naruto's case, he's never that formal ^^ And, for any who watch the English dub rather than the Japanese dub, "Datte Bayo" is Naruto's signature sentence ending. NOT "Believe it!". Whoever thought up "Believe it!" should be beaten and then shot. -.-
"...and with the upcoming Chuunin Exams..." Naruto found himself shifting anxiously and reaching a hand up to his mouth to hide a yawn as the meeting continued for the second hour. His thoughts were on something other than the meeting that was taking place in front of him. He had left his house early after that little rendezvous with Sasuke the previous night. The little feel-up session with the other ninja before he had unexpectedly taken his leave had left him quite anxious for the meeting to end. Naruto pondered if Sasuke would still be at his house when he returned. Not that he wanted to neglect his duties as the leader of the village, but he would have opted out of this meeting in a second to spend more time with Sasuke.
"Hokage-sama?"
It was at times like these that Naruto wished that the Hokage had less official business. Meetings always bored an energetic person like himself who would rather be running around on a mission, than sitting at his desk while other people talked about some issue Naruto felt he had nothing to do with. He really could have cared less about the Chuunin Exams, or whether or not they would be holding any village wide competitions...
"Hokage-sama!"
Had Naruto been listening he might have seen the Jounin and other village leaders staring in his direction, waiting for him to make a comment on what they had been discussing. Naruto's former teacher, Kakashi, let out a small sigh as Naruto again did not hear them calling his title a third time. The masked man decided to take matters into his own hand, and tapped Naruto on the shoulder, "Naruto. You might be Hokage now, but listening is still required." The young man's head shot up in attention at the sound of Kakashi's voice. The man he held in such reverence was obviously smiling a bit nervously though the mask, hoping that Naruto would respond.
"Ah---" Naruto smiled quickly, trying to remember just what this meeting had been about. He knew it had something to do with the Chuunin exams or something along those lines, "Well---The Konohagure has agreed to hold the Chuunin exams again, of course."
"...We said that already, Hokage-sama." Kakashi sighed, tempted to lecture Naruto on listening during meetings, "We wanted your opinion on the request by the Sungakure."
Naruto blinked, "Request?" /This will teach me to day dream about that bastard during meetings.../ he took in a small breath, "I think we should support the Sungakure in anyway we can." Naruto smiled nervously, hoping that his vague answer would suffice.
"...That sounds acceptable." said a quiet voice that Naruto quickly recognized as Gaara's. He let his glance fall over to the Kazekage silently thanking him for saving his ass. Gaara of course gave no reply, only letting his eyes focus back ahead of him.
Naruto took in a sigh of relief before turning a grin to Kakashi, "Well, if there was nothing else on the agenda...?" Kakashi shook his head, "Then this meeting is adjourned." He sighed a bit as the other leaders began to rise, along with their accompanying Jounin. When everyone is the room had left, save Gaara and his siblings, Naruto yawned, "Well! Now that that is done, I'll be on my way!"
"Not so fast, Naruto." Kakashi let out a small sigh, "I believe you owe Gaara-san some gratitude, do you not? A vague answer like yours would have been questioned by another leader in that situation." He gave Naruto a small smirk, obviousy aware of Naruto's cause of losing focus during the meeting.
Naruto pursed his lips in a small scowl as his sensei, "You're right, Kakashi." he left his usual 'sensei' off of the send of Kakashi's name on purpose. The Jounin rolled his eyes a bit, not taking it as an insult, but rather as Naruto being Naruto. Something that anyone who had known the by long enough would know, "...Arigatou, Gaara." Naruto said as he turned to Gaara who was being lead out by Kankurou and Temari.
Gaara nodded with a small, very vague smile, "Think nothing of it, Naruto." and with that, he went to take his leave.
"Ma-Matte(1)!" Naruto laughed, and hopped over the table, "While you're in town, why don't we have lunch together? Just you and me." he asked the other young man with his usual cheerful grin, "I'd like it if we could just, you know, catch up." Naruto was vaguely forgetting about Sasuke; Afterall, Gaara was one of his closest friends, and they rarely saw eachother.
Gaara paused for a moment, before his elder sister Temari answered for him, something she would have never done years before, "Gaara would love to. Ne, Gaara?" she smiled at her younger brother who nodded.
"If you would like to." Gaara took a small glance at his chipper friends, wondering just what had caused the young Hokage to space out so much during a meeting. Back when they were younger, he might have expected Naruto's lack of attention. However, since they had grown and both become the leaders of their villages, Gaara had known Naruto to be a responsible, focused young man who held his friends, the village, and his duty as Hokage above everything else; Even himself. Admittedly, Naruto did have his moments. Afterall, he wouldn't be Naruto without them. But what had caused such a lapse in his duty...?
Gaara knew it had to be important.
Footnotes ::
(1) ---- Matte - "Wait!"
"...And so Tsunade-Obaa-san(1) and the council elected me as the Rokudaime(2) Hokage." Naruto concluded with a wide grin, slurping his ramen as he sat with Gaara at the Ichiraku Ramen stand. The Kazekage sat without much noise, nodding as Naruto told his story of how he'd become Hokage 6 months ago since they hadn't seen each other in at least a year. Gaara noticed Naruto become silent after he finished his story. The other's blue eyes glancing almost solemnly as he stirred his ramen rather than scarffing it down as he always did.
"...Is something bothering you, Naruto-kun?" Gaara glanced over at the other young shinobi, a hint of concern in his pale green eyes, "You seem distracted. Especially at the meeting."
The blonde's head shot up, his eyes falling on Gaara, "I do?" He grinned, slightly sheepish. For a moment, Naruto contemplated telling Gaara about Sasuke, "...Gaara can I tell you something?" he turned to him, "Something that... no one else, except Kakashi-sensei, knows about."
 "Sure." Gaara nodded.
Naruto paused, setting his chopsticks to the side of his half-full dish, "Its Sasuke." He said his name with a small sigh, "He's... back from the Otogakure(3)."
"Sasuke-san? He returned from the Otogakure?" the Kazekage looked half-stunned. Gaara had almost thought that Sasuke might have died along time ago.
"Yeah." Naruto bit his bottom lip anxiously,"And, well..." his cheeks flushed a tinge of red, "Well, we spent the night with each other."
Gaara blinked, staring at Naruto, "Oh. You fucked him?"
Naruto almost face-faulted at the profanity that came from the usually sullen man's mouth, "A-Anou (5)---" Naruto was cute short when someone hit him over the head. He let out a small groan, and turned to see who the hell had dared to hit the Rokudaime Hokage over the head like a child, to find himself face-to-face with none other than Sasuke. The Uchiha looked rather pissed.
"You fucking moron." Sasuke scowled, his black eyes glaring into Naruto's blue ones, "Must you go and spread personal information around to anyone that will listen?! Che, dumbass." the dark eyed Shinobi took a seat next to the chipper blonde, his eyes soon meeting with Gaara's. Sasuke blinked, almost letting a smirk cross his lips as he saw that Gaara had grown his hair out, and was, quite the attractive young man, "Gaara." he said with his usual lack of enthusiasm, "You look well. Shouldn't you be at the Sunagakure?"
Gaara nodded a bit, "Yes. However, I am here for a meeting with the other village leaders, like Naruto-kun."
Sasuke eyed Naruto, "...So that was why you left in a hurry then?" he let his dark eyes roll a bit, "Figures you'd be late to something important like that."
"I wasn't late!!" Naruto growled at the other Shinobi, "And its not my fault! You... You..."
"I what?" Sasuke gave him an annoyed look, "Was forced against the wall while you molested me because you're a pervert?"
" I didn't hear any complaints out of your mouth, teme(5)!" Naruto glared, feeling the usual spark he always felt when around Sasuke. The other Shinobi was silent for a moment, his sullen eyes returning to Gaara for his response to their fight. Gaara was merely glancing at the two, quite unaffected by their outbursts.
"Hmph. You shouldn't be forcing Gaara to bare this embarrassment. If you're going to pick a fight with me about something like this, do it in private, Usuratonkachi." Sasuke let his eyes fall into another signature Uchiha glare, a look that he and his brother shared.
"That's Hokage-sama to you, baka (6)." Naruto glared, "I am a higher rank than you now."
Sasuke raised an eyebrow, his eyes still in a cold, almost scathing glare, "You might be a "higher rank" now, but skill wise I think there is a large difference still, Naruto. Hokage is just a title. It doesn't prove you're the greatest fighter in the world. Orochimaru proved that when he beat the Sandaime(7) Hokage, didn't he? "
Before Sasuke could register what had even happened, Naruto's fist had connected with his cheek, sending him flying to the ground. He was promptly pinned down, Naruto's hand clutching furiously at his collar, a look of pure anger in his usual energetic eyes, "How can you even say that!?" His voice was in a seemingly low growl, "How dare you!?" he raised his fist to hit Sasuke again, only to have it caught in mid air by Gaara who had been quietly watching their fight until Naruto had become violent.
"Yamenasai(8), Naruto." Gaara said in an even voice, holding back his trembling fist, "...You two have caused enough uproar. Why don't we take this elsewhere if you two insist on arguing like children?" Gaara felt the shaking fist in his hand loosen and steady. He relinquished Naruto who stood up, a thoroughly angered look on the usually energetic blonde's face. He held his hand out to Sasuke who slapped it away with a scoff, spitting blood that had mixed with saliva to the ground after he stood up.
The Rokudaime glared sharply at Sasuke, "...Lets get back to my place then." The blonde said quietly, straightening out his white and red jacket before walking in the direction of his home with a huff. He didn't even bother to wait for Gaara.
"...What you said, Sasuke..." Gaara glanced over at the dark haired nuke-nin (9), "That was rather uncalled for, don't you think?" he began walking before Sasuke could respond. The Uchiha scowled at the pair of village leaders as Gaara caught up with Naruto; He knew Gaara had a point, and he knew that his comment was rather rude. However, being as he was, Sasuke really didn't care. He let a hand rise to his cheek where Naruto had hit him, his eyes falling to the Hokage with a blank look before he followed them toward Naruto's quarters.
