A/N: SirGeneralSir: thanks for the review i was always going to put the info about how Naruto got the mission folder in a later chapter (so i decided this one). for the inclusion of Sand they were always there but because a majority had already infilitrated the Hidden Leaf due to the chunin exams so there was less of them outside the village walls and Naruto only encounted them close to the village's walls, while the majority of the external forces was made up of Sound and Stone that's why he only encoutered the Stone and Sound originally. hope that clears everything up.

Chapter 19: Survival and a New Plan
Kitsune Valley, the Hidden Valley of the Fox Sages
“What are you doing Naruto?” Vermilion asked as she walked into the clearing.
  “Going!” Naruto replied before he disappeared in an orange spark.
“Great the Council’s gonna have a fit.” Vermilion muttered as she turned and raced out of the clearing, through the forest back to the fox village. Vermilion crashed through the large double doors, bursting into the large council building just to watch Kurama scream in pain and then disappear like Naruto had.
“What is the meaning of this? Vermilion explain yourself now.” The eldest of the fox council ordered as the others tried to take control of chaos caused by Kurama’s disappearing act.
“It’s Naruto he’s gone he used some sort of ninja technique to vanish.” Vermilion said as she caught her breath.
“Gone? What do you mean he’s gone? Gone where?” Kuzunoha asked as spun to face her daughter.
“Just as I said he used some sort of technique with a kunai to disappear in the flick of an eye.” Vermilion answered in a flush as the elders glared at her.
“Hm the Hiraishin it must be.” The white wolf answered as he thought through the problem.
“We have to find Naruto and Kurama both, if it indeed was the Hiraishin they are both most likely to be injured.” Kuzunoha said as she began to frantically think about how to get Naruto and Kurama back.

Unknown Location, Somewhere in the Land of Wind
“What was up with that mission it was just a false alarm, gods it was so boring.” Temari said as she rubbed her stiff shoulders.
“I’ll just be glad to get back to the village and relax a little we haven’t had a break since we got back from the Chūnin Exams.” Kankurō grumbled as he shifted the puppets on his back into a more comfortable position.
In front of the two complaining siblings was Gaara their red haired younger brother who was looking up at the sky deep in thought as they trudged through the blistering heat of the desert. The two elder siblings walked into Gaara as he suddenly stopped in front of them as he noticed something falling out of the sky.
“Temari, Kankurō do you see that there up in the sky?” he asked his older siblings pointing to the falling object.
“Yeah I can see it what about it?” Kankurō answered indifferently.
“Doesn’t it look like a person?” Gaara asked quietly as he shaded his eyes against the raging sun.
“You’re right Gaara it does look like a person, so what do you want to go check it out or what?” Temari answered as she also shaded her eyes and watched the falling object crash into the sandy dunes on the horizon.
“Yeah let’s check it out, anything would be better than this boring trek back to the village.” Kankurō replied as he again shifted the puppets on his back. They took off at a run towards where the object had crashed into the sandy dunes. They ran for almost an hour before they came to where the sandy dunes turned into rocky crags.
“Split up and search the crags, Temari you take the left, Kankurō you take the right ok.” Gaara said before they split up to search their part of the crags.

Temari walked in between two rocky outcroppings following a small path that was once a small river bed. As she walked she scanned the ridges above her and the shadowy alcoves below them.
‘Come on we’ve been searching this riverbed and these dunes for almost an hour now, surely we would’ve found whatever fell out of the sky by now.’ Temari thought as she shaded her eyes from the glare of the raging sun. Avoiding looking up towards the burning sun she kneeled down to look into a shadowy alcove. ‘Still nothing,’ she sighed getting back up and continued following the river bed. She followed the river bed around a corner tripping over the face down bloody body that was concealed by the bend in the river bed.
“What the hell?” Temari gasped as she looked behind her while still on her hands and knees.
“Naruto?” She whispered as crawled over to the bloody blonde before rolling him onto his back. Temari was almost sick as she looked at the bloody cuts and bruises on his face, the bloody gashes on his neck and shoulders that showed bone. Temari spun around biting her thumb and racing through a set of hand signs. “Summoning Jutsu!” she yelled slamming her hand on the riverbed. In a puff of smoke a pair of sickle-tailed weasels appeared just where Temari had placed her hand.
“What do you need Temari?” One of the weasels asked looking behind the blonde sand Kunoichi to the unconscious blonde behind her.
“I need you two to find my brothers and bring them here, follow the path I was walking down and retrace our steps to find them, go.” Temari ordered pointing to the riverbed that she had been following earlier.
“We’re on it Temari.” The weasels said in unison before racing off in search of Gaara and Kankurō.
“Ah Naruto how did you do this to yourself?” Temari whispered as she pulled aside his torn shirt looking for any other injuries that she could begin to treat. Her eyes were instantly drawn to the red glowing seal on his stomach.
‘Is this the work of the Nine Tails?” she thought as she watched the glowing seal dim until the seal stopped glowing and looked like it had been drawn in ink, she watched amazed as the seal completely disappeared until no trace of it remained on the blonde boy’s skin. She looked away from the unconscious blonde when she heard people running towards her. Turning around facing the way she had come herself, she watched as her two brothers ran around the bend in the river bed following her two summons. The two brothers skidded to a stop when they caught sight of the injured, unconscious blonde behind Temari.
“Temari what’s the matter? Is that who I think it is?” Kankurō asked looking over Temari’s shoulder at Naruto.
“Temari move,” Gaara ordered as sand began to float out of the gourd on his back. Moving his right hand out towards the unconscious blonde the sand followed Gaara’s will as he bid the sand to gather under Naruto. Gaara continued to direct his sand to come together under Naruto until he had emptied his gourd of sand. He kept going calling on his sand to do his will; the gourd itself became sand as well to do Gaara’s bidding.
“Let’s go, we should get back to the village if we want him to survive.” Gaara said as Naruto now lying atop a bed of Gaara’s sand.
The red haired Jinchūriki raised his hand; the bed of sand also rose into the air and floated in the air behind Gaara. Temari and Kankurō quickly followed after their younger brother as he led the way back to the Hidden Sand Village.

Two days later the three siblings walked into the village, Naruto still unconscious and on Death’s door, there they were met by Baki their Jōnin Squad Leader.
“What is this? What’s going on? Who is that?” Baki asked as he looked at the pale, near death blonde lying unconscious on a bed of Gaara’s sand.
“It’s Naruto the Hidden Leaf’s Jinchūriki of the Nine Tails.” Gaara replied in a cold, dead and emotionless voice that said if Baki or any of the villagers tried anything he would kill them.
“You do know he is a major bargaining chip in our negotiations with the Hidden Leaf.” Baki asked as the three siblings began walking past their sensei.
“Yes I know but you will not mention anything about Naruto, to anybody.” Gaara reiterated as he followed his older siblings towards Kazekage palace where they still lived.
“What are you planning Gaara?” Kankurō asked as they walked along the main street of the village.
“Nothing, I am repaying him for what he showed me, nothing more yet, but we will see.” Gaara said as they neared home.
“So why hasn’t he began healing yet?” Temari asked as they reached the palace Kankurō leading the way up to the third floor where they each had their own suite of rooms.
“He’s already healing right now; it’s why he isn’t dead now.” Gaara replied as Kankurō opened the door to Gaara’s suite.
Entering Gaara’s suite the two older siblings watched as Gaara used his sand to lay Naruto on a spare bed. Proving Gaara right the siblings watched as Naruto’s arms and legs began to heal, his broken bones connecting and fusing back together. His torn flesh melding back together without leaving any scar tissue. His scratches, grazes and bruises disappeared like they had never been on his skin.
“Huh only his arms and legs are healing, why not his head and torso?” Kankurō asked looking at his red haired brother for an answer.
“Because they are the hardest part of Naruto’s body for the fox to heal, idiot.” Temari answered for a nodding Gaara.
“Come on we better go report in, Naruto won’t heal any faster either way.” Gaara said turning around and heading for the door.
“Should we tell the council about Naruto?” Kankurō asked embarrassed as Temari laughed in his face.
“Weren’t you paying attention to Gaara earlier, nobody is to know about Naruto until he is healed and only if Gaara wants them to know. Temari mocked the puppet user.

Naruto gasped, choking as he bolted upright into a sitting position.
“Finally awake are you?” a voice grumbled to Naruto’s right.
Coughing to try and regain his breath Naruto looked at the sullen fox who was staring at him angrily. “What? What pissed you off?” Naruto growled back at the sullen fox.
“How about that fucking Hiraishin stunt you pulled, do you know how much that fucking hurt.” Kurama growled as he glared at the blonde.
“Yeah well you fucking deserved it. I thought I could trust you but I guess not you and the rest of them just want to use me, just like everybody else.” Naruto shouted angrily turning his back on the fox.
“That’s not true and you fucking know it. They are just nervous of training you to fully unlock your massive potential.” Kurama replied calmly trying to calm the angry blonde as well.
Naruto turned back around to face the fox, his face a mask of curiosity. “Truly, they don’t want to use me as their personal weapon for conquering the world?” Naruto asked.
“No they don’t and trust me if they had tried, you and I would destroy them.” Kurama replied with a wicked grin that Naruto mirrored.
“So what now? Should we go back or what? Uh why are we not having this conversation in the material world?” Naruto asked as he finally began to look around at his surroundings.
“You idiot don’t you remember falling out of the jutsu?” Kurama asked shocked.
“No, what happened?” Naruto asked as he wracked his brain trying to remember what happened after he activated the Hiraishin trying to run away from Kitsune Valley.
“You went too far away from me and as my chakra crashed back into you, you were knocked out of the teleportation.” Kurama replied before continuing, “You fell over one hundred feet to crash into the ground, you nearly died.” Kurama finished as he looked the ashamed blonde in the eyes.
“I’m sorry Kurama I wasn’t thinking, I just thought that…”
“Enough Naruto I understand you were angry and felt betrayed but from now on we work as a team fully connected and in sync.” Kurama answered.
“So where are we and why can’t I wake up?” Naruto asked as he tried again to leave his mindscape and go back to the material world.
“We’re in the Hidden Sand, you’re body’s still healing and well if you woke up you would just fall unconscious again, besides it looks like Gaara’s sister likes looking after you.” Kurama grinned as he let Naruto see what he saw.
Temari was sleeping as she sat in the chair next to Naruto’s bed, her head lying on the same pillow as Naruto’s head.
“How long has she been here?” Naruto asked as he watched the other blonde sleep.
“Since the day after we arrived, that was a week ago, hell you don’t have to do much to have a female faun all over you, do you.” Kurama said with a laugh as Naruto looked at him sideways.
“You think so huh?” Naruto replied before going back to watching the beautiful Sand Kunoichi.

It was a fortnight later when Naruto finally regained consciousness in the material world. The moonless night was a fitting time for Naruto to wake up to. The first thing he felt was a hand resting on top of his right hand and someone’s calm breath on his neck sending shivers down his spine. Turning his head, Naruto looked at the sleeping Temari, even with the dark bags under her eyes, she was beautiful to him. He continued to stare at the sleeping blonde his thoughts drawn back to the past two weeks where he had watched Temari look after him as his body healed from his near fatal mistake.
“Temari!” Naruto croaked as he tried to whisper to the sleeping Kunoichi. She didn’t wake so he tried again croaking as he tried to speak past his dry and parched throat. Again she didn’t wake. When she didn’t wake he resigned himself to lying there patiently until she woke or someone else walked into the room.
He started awake surprised he had fallen asleep so quickly after regaining consciousness, when the first rays of sunlight filtered into the room. The door opened and a medic ninja walked into the room and stopped dead in his tracks as he looked at the awake blonde.
“You weren’t supposed to wake up for another two or three weeks.” The medical ninja gasped as he walked over to Naruto and began removing bandages.
“Wow you’re fully healed no scarring; wow the healing abilities of Jinchūriki are indeed incredible.” The medic said excitedly as he continued removing various bandages and examined his unmarked skin.
“How do you know I’m a Jinchūriki?” Naruto asked in a dangerously low voice as he pulled his arm away from the medic’s hands.
“Oh right how stupid of me, I’m Gaara’s personal medic, though he never really needs my skills.” The medic said unfazed by Naruto’s unspoken threat.
“Isn’t he lucky a personal medic.” Naruto growled, not paying any attention to the opening door.
  Gaara entering the room heard Naruto and walked over the bed ridden blonde with a small grin plastered on his face.
“Don’t be jealous Naruto; he serves Temari and Kankurō mostly, besides he has a hero crush on Kankurō.” Gaara said as he stood beside the sleeping Temari smiling at the flushed medic as he indicated for the medic to continue examining Naruto.
Naruto looked slyly at the now blushing medic as the blushing medic went back to examining his healed injuries. “It’s the make-up isn’t?” Naruto said snidely with a chuckle escaping the usually quite red head.
“No Kankurō saved his life on a mission; as soon as they got back he offered his skills to Kankurō.” Temari said as she stretched and yawned.
“Miss Temari you’re awake?” The medic blushed even brighter as he finished examining Naruto’s arms and was lowering them back onto the bed. “Alright Naruto off with the shirt so I can examine the rest of your torso.” The medic said as he helped Naruto out of his borrowed shirt.
“Gaara what’s the plan? What’s going to happen to me?” Naruto asked as the medic began rolling Naruto’s shoulder’s one at a time to see if he had full movement or if there was any soreness in the joint.
“The council wants to use you as a bargaining chip with the Hidden Leaf.” Gaara replied quietly waiting for Naruto to reply.
“Am I under arrest?” Naruto asked quietly.
“No because they still think you’re unconscious and will be for another month or so. Plus the negotiations with the Hidden Leaf have not started yet. I guess they’re spending their time looking for a missing, presumed dead Jinchūriki.” Temari replied as she looked over Naruto’s muscled torso, which Gaara and Naruto noticed sharing a pair of raised eyebrows.
“Good because I’m not going back.” Naruto growled as the medic yanked on his shoulder. “Will you stop that!” Naruto snapped as he shot a glare at the nervous medic who was looking between the two Jinchūriki.
“Tolwei that’s enough for now, leave us.” Gaara said as he nodded his head in the direction of the door. The medic saluted and quickly raced out of the door closing the door behind him with a loud thud.
“What’s going on Naruto? There’s been rumors that you were killed trying to escape prison.” Gaara said folding his arms over his chest and looking down at the blonde.
“Not quite I was sent by the elders to kill Lady Tsunade before she could become the Hokage. They gave me photo evidence that they said showed her betraying the village to Orochimaru. Well when I got there it was the exact opposite Orochimaru was trying to get her to heal him of all the injuries the Third made him suffer. So we came up with a plan to trap the traitors within the village, it kinda backfired.” Naruto said with his usual quirky grin.
“How did it back fire?” Gaara asked as he sat on the arm of the chair Temari was sitting in.
“Well some point on the trip back to the village the elders were able to impersonate Jiraiya and Tsunade. They were going to impersonate Tsunade and have her abdicate in favor of that fuckwit Danzō who was helping Orochimaru when the invasion occurred.” Naruto continued as Temari handed him a glass filled with water.
“So how did you end up in prison?” Gaara urged wanting to hear the rest of the story.
“That was their plan stick me in prison only to be taken out when they needed their weapon but the idiots made a mistake. They had Tsunade in a prison cell and when my sense of smell caught a whiff of her I knew what was going on. Then boom an all-out fight between me and those idiots, I knew Danzō had a Sharingan, I didn’t expect him to have an arm covered in them.” Naruto said with a shudder at the memories.
“So how did you escape the destruction of the prison, which is why people think you’re dead?” Gaara asked.
“Kurama took over when we needed a power boost that I couldn’t use myself, he was able to teleport us out of the prison before it was destroyed. Next thing I know I’m on the other side of the continent, have you ever heard of the Kitsune Valley?” Naruto asked to Gaara who was shaking his head. He looked at the nodding Temari in surprise. “You know about Kitsune Valley Temari?”
“Yes it isn’t far from the home of the weasel summons.” Temari said as she bit her thumb, flashed through a series of hand signs and slammed her hand on the ground. A burst of smoke erupted from where Temari’s hand made contact with the ground. As the smoke dispersed standing at Temari’s foot was a sickle-tailed weasel.
“Cool.” Naruto muttered as he asked his furry resident, “Hey Kurama if I sign those contracts I’ll be able to do that right?”
“Yes and the better and more powerful you get the more you can summon at the same time.” Kurama replied imparting a vision of Naruto standing before an army of foxes and wolves, Kurama and Kuzunoha at his back.
“So how did you end up almost plummeting to your death?” Gaara asked snapping Naruto out of his conversation with Kurama, while Temari dispelled her summoned weasel.
“I did something stupid.” Naruto muttered before continuing on. “I was eavesdropping on the fox sages’ little council and thought they were trying to control me, turn me into their personal weapon. So I used my father’s technique to leave, without taking Kurama with me so about halfway through the teleport I got thrown out of it.” Naruto finished looking at Gaara as the red head thought through Naruto’s story.
Finished thinking Gaara looked at Naruto before asking, “Do you want to go back to the Hidden Leaf?” Gaara said trying to hide the extra information he had.
“No, but my mates are still there though. Why are you asking me this Gaara what do you know?” Naruto asked quickly catching on that Gaara had information he was hiding.
“Tell him Gaara he needs to know if he’s going to make a decision on whether or not to go back.” Temari said.
“You see there have been some skirmishes along the border and our ANBU and Hunters have been hearing rumors throughout the Land of Fire that you were dead, so we sent some undercover ANBU to investigate the Hidden Leaf...”
“Let me guess the civilians and probably half the ninja’s are celebrating the Demon Brat’s death?” Naruto said interrupting the red head who only nodded at Naruto’s speculation.
“Not surprising they’ve been trying to kill me for years; if not for Kurama I would be dead multiple times.” Naruto said as he looked at his hands which were clenched into fists.
“So what are you going to do Naruto?” Temari asked hoping he would stay in the Hidden Sand.
“Gaara, do you think I could stay here temporarily or maybe… hm…”
“Kurama if I give you control again can you use the reverse summoning technique to takes us back to Kitsune Valley?” Naruto asked the fox telepathically.
“Yes, what about Gaara, you still need to thank him for sheltering you and what about the woman I’m sure you can smell her.” Kurama replied with a chuckle at Naruto’s growing list of potential mates.
“Yes I can smell her and if Gaara wasn’t here she’d probably jump me right now.” Naruto grinned along with the fox. “But you’re right I do owe Gaara maybe we can come up with a way to be here part time, plus I have to find a way to get Hinata, Haku and Karin out of the Hidden Leaf, though Haku and Karin would be easier to get out than Hinata will be.” Naruto said to the fox who was thinking along the same line as Naruto.

It took Naruto, Kurama, Gaara, Kankurō and Temari, who was overjoyed to have Naruto close by, a week to come up with a plan that would benefit both the Hidden Sand and Naruto. The Hidden Sand would allow Naruto to get Hinata, Haku and Karin out of the Hidden Leaf and take them with him when he trained with the Fox Sages for however long it took. In exchange Naruto would allow himself to be a bargaining chip in the negotiations between the Hidden Sand and the Hidden Leaf.
Right now Naruto dressed in a borrowed sand ANBU ninja uniform and Gaara were going over the minor details of the plan.
“How’s that blood clone coming along?” Naruto asked as Temari, Kankurō and Baki sat down at the table they were sitting at.
“Almost done, should be ready by this afternoon.” Baki said as he passed a scroll to Naruto, who opened the scroll and began to read.
“I didn’t expect them to agree so quickly, is this the only proof they need my chakra and DNA?” Naruto asked looking up at Baki.
“They believe we have you and that you are dangerously injured beyond our ability to heal. Plus I think the Leaf’s council would want their weapon back and would pay any cost.” Baki finished as Naruto grinned happily.
“This is working out better than we ever hoped.” Naruto said as he finished reading the scroll. “I can’t believe they really believe that Karin was involved with assassinating you’re Kazekage, all they needed was one hair sample, fuck.” Naruto said shaking his head and thinking, ‘I hope they won’t hold this against me.’
“So it will be down to you and this blood clone of yours to finish your plans but you’ve held up your end of our bargain. So as agreed you will be able to come and go as you please as long as one of these three is with you.” Baki said rolling up the scroll before tucking it in his vest. Baki quickly left the room leaving the four Genin to finalize Naruto’s plans.
”Alright let’s get started.” Naruto said getting up from the table as the door closed behind the departed Baki. Naruto lead the three siblings out of the room into the hallway.
“Follow me Naruto.” Gaara said as he lead the way through the winding hallways that made up the Kazekage residence to a suite of rooms that joined with the three siblings own suites. They had given Naruto these rooms for his use when he was in the village.
The four entered Naruto’s suite and formed a semi-circle facing the center of the central room.
“Kurama Let’s begin.” Naruto said telepathically to the fox as he stepped into the center of the room. Kurama’s chakra cloak enveloped Naruto as the fox took control of his host’s body. Kurama bit Naruto’s thumb and flashed through a series of hand signs before slamming his hand on the bare floor. A burst of smoke erupted from where his hand was connected with the ground. As the smoke cleared they could clearly see two small foxes sitting before the cloaked Naruto. One was a sandy colored Fennec fox while the other looked like a common red fox with a message tube strapped to his back.
“Kurama thank Kami you’re alright the council’s been in an uproar since you disappeared.” The red fox said as he looked around the room.
“Uh somethings never change; I’ve a message for you to deliver to Kuzunoha. Tell her Naruto has agreed to be trained as a Fox Sage, got it?” Kurama said to the little red fox.
“Yes I got it.” the little fox replied nodding his head before Kurama released the jutsu sending the little red fox back to Kitsune Valley.
“What about me Kurama what did you summon me for?” The little Fennec fox asked.
“Naruto has a task to complete before we return to Kitsune Valley, and we need a little help.” Kurama said before giving Naruto his body back. As Naruto took over his body the chakra cloak evaporated like steam. With Naruto fully in control of his body again he explained his plan to the fox as he went around the room placing a ninjutsu formula on the door frame to the suite and he placed one above the bed in the bedroom.
“So you understand what I’m trying to do?” Naruto asked the little fox who was still sitting in the middle of the common room watching Naruto.
“Yes I understand what you plan.” The fox replied with a swish of his tail.
“Good then we can begin; let’s go prep the blood clone.” Naruto said to Gaara who nodded and led the way back out into the hallway and through the hallways to the infirmary.
The medic preparing the clone looked up from his work on the clone as the four Genin walked into the infirmary.
“Is the clone ready?” Gaara asked as the Genin surrounded the table the clone was lying on.
“Yes, all that remains is to impart the required chakra signature.” The medic answered looking at Naruto who nodded and placed his hands where the medic indicated. The medic went through a series of hand signs before placing his hands on top of the blonde’s. “Okay Naruto I need you to flare your mixed chakra so I can transfer some of it into the clone.”
Naruto nodded and slipped into an active Jinchūriki cloak. His body was encased in a fiery orange aura that covered his body. The transformation complete he began to flare his and Kurama’s mixed chakra so that the medic could redirect it into the clone that had the same injuries Naruto had when he had been brought into the village weeks before.
“That’s enough chakra, it is done the clone is ready.”

Border of Land of Fire and Land of Wind
Two days later the three sand siblings along with Baki their Jōnin leader, the apparently seriously injured blood clone and the disguised original Naruto concealed among the two squads of ANBU were waiting at the border for the Leaf representatives to arrive.
“You really think this plan will work?” Kankurō asked for the umpteenth time that day, his arms crossed in front of him.
“Yes it’ll work, now for the last time will you shut up.” Naruto wearing a wolf mask and with his hair dyed black due to the illusion jutsu on the mask, said as he stood between and just behind Gaara and Temari.
They watched as Jiraiya, Kakashi and Shikaku Nara exited the forest followed by two squads of ANBU Naruto recognizing the leader of the ANBU as Yugao. The Leaf ninja walked across the border stopping fifteen feet from the waiting Sand ninja.
Stepping forward Baki walked towards the Hidden Leaf ninja. “Did you bring the ones we agreed upon?” Baki asked as the disguised Naruto stepped to his clone’s right holding a kunai at the clone’s throat.
“Yes.” Jiraiya replied as the ANBU parted and the bound Haku and Karin were pushed on to their knees in front of Jiraiya.
Naruto’s grip on the kunai tightened as he watched the two bound women yanked to their feet and shoved into a stumbling shuffle towards himself, Gaara, Temari and Baki by a pair of ANBU. Baki motioned for Naruto to back away from his clone as he and Gaara backed away from the clone lying on a portable stretcher. Temari and Kankurō took a hold of the chains that bound Haku and Karin and lead them away from the stretcher. They both had tears running down their faces as they looked at the deathly pale blonde on the stretcher. The ANBU picked up one end of the stretcher each and walked back towards their comrades.
“Our business is concluded; take this contract to your Hokage for her to look over.” Baki said handing a sealed scroll to Jiraiya.
Jiraiya took the scroll and both backed away from each other. Jiraiya turned and indicated for a group of ANBU to grab the clone’s stretcher. He led the Leaf shinobi back across the border and into the cover of the forest.
“That went well.” Kankurō said happily as he wiped his forehead of a few drops of sweat.
“Alright let’s get out of here.” Baki ordered as the two AMBU squads formed up around the three siblings, their squad leader and the two prisoners, the wolf masked ANBU just behind them.
They marched towards the Hidden Sand for two hours when Baki turned to face the wolf masked ANBU. “Are any of them following us?” he asked the ANBU who was shaking his head.
“No, they’re not following us.” The ANBU answered shaking his head, purposefully refusing to look at the two prisoners who were looking at him suspiciously. The others did not miss the suspicious looks the two prisoners were giving the disguised Naruto. Gaara chuckled as Temari and Kankurō tried to hide their grins.
“You can take off the mask now Naruto.” Gaara chuckled as Naruto slowly removed the mask, the mask’s illusion disappearing, his hair turning from black back to blonde.
Naruto grinned as he saw the shocked looks on the faces of Haku and Karin, a mischievous glint in his odd colored eyes. “Hi, miss me?”
His grin disappeared as Haku with tears rolling down her face walked up to him and slapped him on the right cheek before she pulled him into a passionate kiss. Naruto moaned in pleasure as his arms snaked around her waist holding her close. Haku slowly separated from the comfort of Naruto’s arms, using her sleeve to wipe away her tears.
Karin was quick to follow Haku’s example as she stepped up to Naruto and slapped him in the exact same spot that Haku did leaving behind a red hand print before she planted her lips on Naruto’s. Naruto held her close as she deepened the kiss, her tongue slipping into his mouth to slide across his own. Both moaned in pleasure before Naruto broke the kiss and looked at the blushing Gaara.
“Let’s go time we got back to the village so I can prepare for the next step of my plan.” Naruto said as Haku and Karin each grabbed one of his hands to hold.
“What’s this plan of yours Naruto?” Haku asked the blonde.
“To sneak into the Leaf and get Hinata and the rest of my stuff. I’ll tell you all about it on the way.” Naruto replied as he rubbed his sore cheek.
“Right let’s get back to the village.” Gaara said as Baki and the ANBU led the way back to the Hidden Sand with Gaara, Kankurō, Temari, Naruto, Haku and Karin following behind them.

Midday: Western Gate of the Hidden Leaf
Tsunade with Shizune beside her were waiting at the western gate when Jiraiya, Kakashi, Shikaku and the two ANBU squads returned with the Naruto clone on a stretcher. Jiraiya walked up to Tsunade and handed her the scroll he had been given by the Sand leader.
“Follow me!” Tsunade said as she took the scroll and turned on her heel and walked through the village to the hospital, Shizune and the others following close behind. The two ANBU squads were joined by another two squads who took up positions around the clone on the stretcher.
The streets were packed with people going about their daily lives as Tsunade led the column of ANBU through the village. Quickly word spread throughout the village of the return of the seriously injured Demon Brat, who was being stretchered towards the hospital. The streets were quickly packed with civilians and ninja alike as they came to gawk, jeer and/or hurl abuse at the Demon Brat. For an unlucky few who were able to throw something towards the clone on the stretcher their lives were ended quickly by the loyal ANBU.
Tsunade watched as one of the civilians threw a large stone at Naruto which whizzed past her head was killed by an ANBU, stopping she looked around her as she raised her voice so all could hear her.
“If anybody throws anything at my ANBU it will be considered an attack on my bodyguards and thus an attack on me and thus an act of treason and the perpetrators will be arrested or killed on the spot.” Tsunade yelled turning to look at Shikaku.
“Go inform Ibiki that he will be receiving guests and can do whatever he pleases to get any information out of them.” Shikaku bowed and in a swirl of leaves was gone.
“Kakashi go find Hinata, we may need her when Naruto recovers.” Tsunade said looking at the silver haired Jōnin.
“You think she’ll be able to calm him when he finds out about the deal?” Kakashi asked as the picked up on Tsunade’s line of thinking.
Tsunade just nodded before turning around to face Shizune. Having been effectively dismissed Kakashi followed Shikaku’s example and used a leaf swirl to Shunshin away.
“Shizune go ahead and prep a room for Naruto alone ok?” Shizune nodded and like Kakashi and Shikaku she Shunshined away in a swirl of leaves.
Tsunade and Jiraiya continued on their way as they led the way in to the hospital where Shizune was already waiting for them. Tsunade dismissed the original two ANBU squads who had traveled to the Land of Wind with Jiraiya. “I want a report on my desk first thing tomorrow morning.” She ordered dismissing the ANBU before turning to face another ANBU squad.
“Remain here and guard this entrance nobody is allowed past that door without being accompanied by Shizune, Jiraiya or myself. The rest of you will follow.” Tsunade ordered turning to face Shizune.
“Follow me Lady Tsunade, the room is ready.” Shizune said as she led the way through the hospital to the more secured shinobi isolation rooms at the back of the hospital followed by the ANBU carrying the clone.
“Is Hinata here yet?” Tsunade asked following her student and friend to the room she had prepared for Naruto.
“Yes she and Kakashi arrived just before you did Lady Tsunade; they’re waiting in the room for us.”
“Good let’s get him in the room so I can examine him and look at those wounds.”

Hidden Sand
‘Come on it’s been a full day and the clone hasn’t signaled yet.’ Naruto fumed as he paced back and forth in his room which was part of the suite he was sharing with Haku and Karin while he waited to start the next part of his plan.
“Will you stop pacing Naruto, Tsunade and Shizune are probably still examining the clone. Besides they’ve probably only just arrived back at the Hidden Leaf.” Haku said as Naruto started his twentieth lap of the room.
“I can’t help it; I just want this part of the plan over and done with.” Naruto replied as he sat on the edge of the bed between Haku and Karin.
“You should stop worrying Naruto, Hinata will come and if she needs anymore convincing just show her that mission folder you found while you were sneaking into the records vault to study and copy the Sacred Scroll of Sealing before the Chūnin Exams.” Haku said as she laid her head on Naruto’s shoulder.
“Hmm, I could do that, it’s a good thing I copied everything that I looked at while I was sneaking into the vault, but I would still have to get it from the apartment.” Naruto mused.
“What vault?” Karin asked with a curious look between Naruto and Haku.
“That’s right you probably don’t know. Under the Hokage tower is a massive vault where all the documents that ever passed over the Hokage’s desk are stored. It also has a hidden room attached to it that holds all the files that were deemed to be secrets. Every night for the two weeks before the Chūnin exams I was sneaking into the vault and the hidden room looking for secret techniques and any information that would benefit me and as I said I copied everything I found.” Naruto said as Karin looked at him surprised.
“It’s also where he found a SS-Class secret about Hinata and himself.” Haku added as Naruto looked down at his hands.
“What secret?” Karin asked intrigued by Naruto’s response to the tidbit of information.
“You know how Hinata was kidnapped about a month before the Chūnin exam, well Naruto found the order hidden away in the secret room.” Haku said before continuing, “It put Naruto in a very dangerous mindset, which he eventually took out on another Genin prior to the first exam.” Haku finished.
“Yeah well Kiba deserved it; I should’ve broken his nose again.” Naruto huffed.
“At least the make-up sex was good hey Naruto.” Haku joked, nudging Naruto with her elbow.
“Damn right, considering I had to wait for over a month.” Naruto grinned as he got up from the bed and began pacing while he thought things through.
“That’s it I’ll use the Hiraishin to teleport to the apartment and grab everything and seal it into a scroll and then go get Hinata.” Naruto replied as he walked over to Haku who was still sitting on the bed. Leaning down he cupped her face as he kissed her. Breaking the kiss with Haku, he looked at Karin as she shifted closer to the blonde so she could grab him by the front of his ANBU jacket and pulled him down into a sensual kiss that left them both tingling.
   “I’ll see you soon.” Naruto said as he pulled a Hiraishin marked kunai out of the holster on his left leg. Letting himself be enveloped by a single tail chakra cloak he allowed his and Kurama’s combined chakra to flow into the formula written on the kunai’s hilt he spread his chakra outwards looking for a specific formula, one of the many formulas he marked over his apartment in the Hidden Leaf.
“Found ya, I’ll see you soon.” And like that Naruto was gone in an orange flash.

Hidden Leaf
The sun was directly above Naruto as he landed on the roof of his apartment in a crouch using all of his enhanced senses to scan his surroundings.
‘All clear, now let’s go get our stuff.’ Naruto thought as he dropped down to the floor below.
Unsealing a key he opened the door to the apartment he had been living in since his fifth birthday. Closing the door behind him he walked into his room grabbing two sealing scrolls from a small pile of scrolls. Opening both he laid them across his bed. Going back to the pile of scrolls he picked them up and sealed all but one in the first scroll. Going around the apartment he gathered all of the information he had copied from the vault before sealing them up in the first scroll.
‘Huh, all that info filled up the scroll.’ Naruto thought in amazement as he re-rolled the scroll and sealed it into his ANBU jacket.
With the first scroll filled and safely sealed away, Naruto went back through the apartment sealing up what remained of his ninja gear and what little belongings he owned. Sealing away everything he owned he quickly gathered Haku and Karin’s belongings and sealed them into the same scroll with his own belongings.
‘Good all done, I’ll leave this last scroll for Hinata’s stuff.’ Naruto thought as he sealed the second scroll into his ANBU vest. ‘What to do now?’ Naruto thought as he paced around his room trying to think of what to do next, not having planned what to do after he’d sealed all his stuff.
As he continued to pace his stomach grumbled and a happy grin spread across his face as he pulled out his ANBU mask and slipped it on. Standing still Naruto watched the illusion change his image, making him appear a foot taller with green eyes and instead of blonde hair he now had black hair. Nodding in approval of the illusionary change Naruto left the apartment, jumping onto the roof he headed directly for his favorite restaurant, Ichiraku Ramen.
Naruto landed on the roof of the building across from Ichiraku Ramen, scoping out the scene.
‘All clear, now to use an illusion so I can actually eat.’ Naruto thought as he went through a few simple hand signs. Naruto slipped off the ANBU mask and held up a mirror so he could look at his illusionary reflection which was similar to the mask’s one, except the eyes that looked back at Naruto were brown instead of green. Liking what he saw Naruto scanned the street making sure the coast was clear before he dropped to the street below.
Naruto slipped into the empty Ichiraku Ramen and sat on the middle seat.
Seeing the new customer sitting at the counter Ayame faced the newcomer and with her sweetest smile asked for his order.
“A bowl of BBQ pork ramen please.” Naruto said trying to suppress his grin as he dug into his pocket and pulled out the required amount of Ryō.
“Coming right up.” Teuchi said from his place at the stove behind Ayame.
When it was done Ayame placed the steaming bowl in front of Naruto who was salivating at the enticing aroma. Naruto happily dug into the meal, he had forgotten how good Ichiraku Ramen was and how much he missed eating it.

Hinata was walking through the streets of Konoha dejected her head down as she slowly made her way to Naruto’s apartment.
‘I can’t believe how badly he’s hurt.’ She thought as she aimlessly walked through the village returning from the hospital where Tsunade and Shizune were examining Naruto.
Continuing to walk through the village she felt completely alone. Not only was Naruto seriously injured, but her friends Haku and Karin had been arrested and forced out of the village to be traded to the Hidden Sand for Naruto’s safe return. Tears came unbidden to her eyes as she slowly meandered her way to the only place she had felt loved and valued.
Unconsciously Hinata arrived at Naruto’s apartment before she knew it she was walking up to the top floor and opening the already unlocked door, she walked into the apartment completely spaced out from the world around her. Aimlessly she walked into Naruto’s bedroom. She stopped dead in her tracks looking at the sleeping Naruto.
“Naruto?” she asked quietly her brain overloading. Before she knew it her brain had shut down from the conflicting images and her currently twisted version of reality. Hinata hit the floor hard as she passed out.
Naruto was instantly awake at the sound of Hinata hitting the floor and was instantly in a sitting position looking down at the unconscious Hyūga.
‘Shit, whoops that wasn’t supposed to happen.’ Naruto thought as he got off the bed and quickly moved over to the prone teen. He picked her up and carried her over to the bed bridal style. He gently laid her down on the bed before quickly examining her head for an injury.
‘That’s a relief, she’s not hurt.’ Naruto thought as he sat on the edge of the bed and waited for Hinata to wake.
Naruto constantly kept looking back at her. Her haggard features tearing at his heart. He could see she had been crying and she looked like she hadn’t slept in a month. Having enough of looking at her and hurting himself with guilt in the process, he got up and walked around to the other side of the bed. Lying on the bed next to Hinata he pulled her into his arms and held her tight waiting for her to wake. He was eventually lulled back to sleep by the constant rhythm of her beating heart.
