Sakura scoffed and set a big cup of steaming tea with a hint of sake on the table for Kakashi, “You’ll need a drink. This’ll take a while to explain.”

Hiruzen Sarutobi smiled as he saw Team 7 standing in front of his desk, “Congratulations! You are ready-“
“What’s our mission?!” The blonde yelled as he practically bounced around in excitement. “Do we fight pirates or bring down corrupt assholes-“
“Shut up!” The pink haired genin shrieked before silencing the blonde with a punch. “Sorry, hokage-sama!” She said sweetly, completely ignoring the blonde boy who hit the floor out cold in front of the indifferent raven haired genin.
Kakashi chuckled sheepishly, “Thank you, Sakura. Yes, hokage-sama. I believe we are ready to get things going.”
“Excellent! Let’s start with a simple D-rank!” Hiruzen said before handing Kakashi a scroll.
“Let’s go!” The pink haired genin yelled only to look furious and disgusted with what the details she saw in the mission scroll that Kakashi decided to open right there. Of course, she covered up that look up quickly with a smile when she remembered that the hokage was right there and grabbed the unconscious blonde by the collar to drag him away as they left.
Once they made it to the edge of town a brown haired masked ROOT agent dropped down from the trees, “Did he notice?” He asked as he examined the blonde who quietly stood up.
Sakura shook her head, “I didn’t notice if he did.”
“Neither did I. What do you think, Kakashi?” Sasuke asked curiously as the Naruto in the classic orange jumpsuit had its pulled off by the agent revealing it to be a puppet.
Kakashi sighed, “I don’t believe so, but then I also thought he was a good person too so I personally don’t trust my judgement.” He regrettably admitted. “How are the seal joints holding up?”
The ROOT agent nodded, “Significantly better than the regular bolts holding it together. Thanks for the suggestion” He said as he popped the blonde’s head back on. “I always hated that jumpsuit. Got to admit I’m glad the puppet is wearing it. Now do you guys want to rely on clones or try to control a puppet? I tweaked the design so you’d have more control and won’t lose it with one malfunction.”
Sasuke frowned, “You said it’s like making a clone, right Naruto?”
“Pretty much. Only difference is the feeling of stiffness as the clone sends you information like any other clone would. It’s a weird feeling. However, I made the puppets to match your body types so the appearance seals won’t have to work too hard to make it feel real and without metal joints you won’t have your clone dispelled like what happened with the Mizuki puppet did so you can fix yourself … in theory.” Naruto hummed behind his mask. “Hinata gave the thumbs up too so the puppet can trick a byakugan, but we should leave backup clones in case something happens.”
Kakashi put a finger to his chin in thought, “Yeah. We can’t rely solely on clones in a ninja village. You guys made it work in an academy setting, but that can’t continue as things like the chunin exam rolls around. We should each activate a puppet, but take time to properly adjust to it in the hideout before letting them go into the village. We’ll use clones until they’re ready.”
“I agree.” Sakura said as she quickly ducked behind a tree and returned in a plain ROOT agent uniform and a mask that changed her hair dark blue. “Where are they? … what? Never saw a woman change before?” She asked a clearly stunned Kakashi as Naruto unsealed a set of three humanoid wood puppets, one was taller than the other two and one had more padding to make a feminine shape.
“I have, but … well I don’t expect it to happen on a road.” Kakashi muttered, while watching Sakura swiftly dress the female puppet in her less professional clothes.
Naruto shrugged, “What’s the problem? Sasuke is already done changing.” He pointed at the now masked red haired agent who was standing next to a puppet that was wearing Sasuke’s outfit.
Sakura huffed, “Doesn’t count. He’s only faster because he doesn’t have underwear to slow him down.”
Sasuke’s skin, the parts of the ears and neck that were not hidden completely by the mask, turned red in embarrassment, “How do you know that?! Are you still-
“Focus.” Naruto said and it instantly quieted the two down. “Just tap the seals on the back of the neck as you make the hand sign.” He said. Sasuke and Sakura did as instructed and watched their puppets come to life after they touched the seals on the wooden chest with the shadow clone hand sign. ‘We’re on a time crunch so hurry up.” Naruto urged as the puppets were joined by shadow clones who were all looking at Kakashi impatiently.
Kakashi blinked, “What? We’re leaving now? Where?!”
“Mist. I have an appointment two from now in Wave to keep too. Change him.” Naruto ordered bluntly.
“What-Hey!” Kakashi yelped, both shocked by the order and the ruthlessness it was carried out.
Somehow the two he thought were genin level ninjas just 48 hours ago landed six paralyzing jabs to his back. He hit the road hard, felt a breeze in places it shouldn’t be and had a mask placed on his face. The whole experience took approximately half of a minute.
Naruto popped Kakashi’s back so he could move again, “There. That wasn’t so bad, was it?” He said cheerfully as the jonin slowly stood up.
“No, but- … you took my mask!” Kakashi exclaimed, not happy that his puppet, which was already dressed in his clothes, had his classic top that hid the lower half of his face. What made it worse was that he couldn’t feel his cloth mask under his full ROOT agent mask. “You saw my fac-”
Sakura held up a set of pictures depicting Kakashi sleeping at home in the nude, “We’ve known a while or did you think we just captured you, Asuma and Kurenai on a whim without a shit load of research? Now, shut up, activate your puppet and get moving or these will become front page news.”
“You wouldn’t let that happen, right? Can’t I have my regular clothes back, at least?” Kakashi pleaded looking at Naruto.
Naruto shrugged, “You’re too recognizable. We don’t need reports of the Copy Cat ninja being in Mist when he’s supposed to be with his genin team doing D-ranks so no. Also, I already said we’re on a time crunch so if those pictures going public will get you moving then I’m fine with it.”
Kakashi stared at the brown haired agent trying to figure out if Naruto was serious, but with another set of pictures appearing he decided not to risk it. ““Ok!” He exclaimed as he raced over to his puppet. He activated it and made the extra clones so fast that he didn’t notice the strange sensation of stiffness until after they left the puppets and clones behind and were well on their way to Wave. “Whoa … That is weird.”
Naruto nodded, “Yeah, but that’s the consequence of having a clone created in a wooden object. Just have your puppet clone suppress the connection until you’re used to it. That’s what I’m doing with the Kurenai, Mizuki and Asuma puppets.”
Speaking of, Will the others be joining?” Sasuke asked.
“Now that I’m sure the puppets won’t be easily spotted they can. I have clones finishing their puppets now. We’ll meet them in Wave.” Naruto said, though his clone just sent him an update and he got the feeling Hinata might be mad about what his clone did to get Kiba off her back …

“What an ass!” Kiba said as he stared at Hinata’s backside as the team picked up trash for a D-rank mission.
“Kiba!” The dog ninja leapt in a panic and spun around to come face to face with his irritated sensei, Kurenai. “We’re on a mission. Take it seriously.”
Kiba huffed, ignoring his dog, Akamaru, who seemed to be whining for him to shut up. “Seriously?! We’re collecting trash! How is that serious?! We could be doing other things like having some fun.”
Maybe the horny 15 year old dog ninja didn’t care or he actually thought he was being subtle, but he still looked straight at Hinata’s ass as she bent down to grab some trash. The clone of a certain ROOT agent controlling the Kurenai puppet spotted it too easily and it didn’t sit well with him. Kurenai glanced at Shino who nodded ready to play along.
Naruto, under the feminine guise, stepped up to Kiba in a surprisingly intimidating fashion that had Kiba and Akamaru shaking. “First off, this is about building teamwork not about deadly missions. You need to learn how to work with all your teammates not ogle them.”
Shino adjusted his glasses, “ Secondly, as a friend of hers I know that Hinata isn’t interested in you-“
“Yeah right!” Kiba laughed much to his dog’s annoyance. “I can give her a clan again and I’m quite a looker to so why wouldn’t she want me, bug freak-ow!”
Hinata armed herself with a second bottle to throw at Kiba. “I can hear you! I will never find a jerk who calls my friend names attractive! Understa-...” Hinata let her sentence trail off as Kurenai came towards her with a look that made her shiver. Sure, it was technically Kurenai, but all she saw was a puppet and a piece of Naruto who she had feelings for as long as she could remember.
Kiba, however, didn’t know about Naruto or the puppet so he really just saw this following scene …
Hinata blushed shyly, “Sensei?” Before Hinata could say anymore Kurenai wrapped one arm around to squeeze her butt, brought a leg up to part her legs and used her other hand to brace the back of Hinata’s head for a toe curling kiss.

“Oops is right.” Naruto’s clone looked down towards the voice and saw the irritation in those opal eyes. “What was-“
“I’m sorry, I only wanted him to bac-Your puppets are done!” ‘Kurenai’ yelped while backing away from the pissed off ninja.
Shino created a few clones, “Right. Let’s go, Hinata.”
“Right … I can chat with the original.” She said shooting a look at the puppet sensei before also creating several clones and they all, save for one of each clone and ‘Kurenai’, raced for the hideout. When they arrived they found it was devoid of the usual swarm of blonde clones. The only ones there were three deactivated puppets , the Kakashis, Sakuras, Sasukes and several Shikamarus.
“Your ear is bleeding.” Shino commented when he saw that an annoyed Sakura clone was trying to heal a masked Shikamaru’s ear while he was trying to set up his puppet.
The Sakura clone sighed, “‘Tis a side effect of spending any time with Ino.”
Shikamaru scoffed, not interested in talking about the loud teammate he was stuck with, “I’ll be happy to leave my puppet in charge. Any idea why every Naruto bolted?” Shikamaru asked as he finished dressing his puppet. He raised an eyebrow when Hinata didn’t even acknowledge him as she went to her puppet. Usually the Ino or Naruto topics get some reactions from her, but there was nothing. “Did something happen?” He quietly asked the insect user.
“You could say that … Kiba was getting annoying and Naruto used a unique method of getting him to back off … let’s just say it got out of hand.” Shino said quietly.
The sharp warning look from Hinata made Shino shut up and get back to the task of changing places with his puppet. Moments later three more ninjas were headed towards Wave ...
