Chapter Seventeen: Glimpses

Above Konoha, away from the bustling
streets, and crowds, about a mile away from town Minato just stood and watched,
his old home, sighing in contempt, and sorrow.

How i long to tell see you and tell you...son. �His new white robes fluttering, and glanced
around as Abu surrounded him, he just smiled, and turned towards them, and
raised his hand to his mask to take it off, but halted when �Her� voice rang though his head.

�That would be foolish...you have the power to simply stop them, it�s
there for a reason Minato.� At this Minato sighed dropped his hand to his side.

�Who...are you? Which village do you
hail from?� He saw an Anbu that he recognised; she went by the codename Fox, at
this he spoke.

�I am just enjoying the view.� At
this all the Anbu flinched at his voice, but quickly recovered and lunged
forwards, Minato looked with sorrowful eyes from behind his mask, and raised
his right hand and clicked his fingers and suddenly all the Anbu stopped in mid
pose, some still in mid air. Minato just looked from his fingers to the Anbu
shocked.

�Well i see you took well on my
advice...� Minato turned to look behind him as the women whom had brought him
to this moment, and turned to her, then glanced back to the Anbu behind him.

�How did i? Without hand signs? And
what is your name?� The women in Green just smiled playing with a strand of her
hair, playing with it between her fingers, and walked behind Minato and ran a
finger down Fox�s mask, for she was the first to jump the ex- Hokage.

�You are so much more now, though you
are still you, you can do things that no human or demon can do, and with mere
thought of will, and action. That is why you don�t need hand signs.� She turned
back to him; he just looked up at Fox at which the women just looked over her
shoulder.

�Will they be ok?� The women just
smirked

�Yes,�
as i said if you wanted to stop them you did, but I�d advice wiping their
minds, they won�t remember us at all, and no ninja can ever recover them no
matter what...now (She walked past Minato and looked at Konoha from the edge of
the cliff) don�t you have n assignment you have to do...hmm? Oh and to avoid
anyone finding out it will also affect the entire village.�

Minato just stared silently at her
for a moment.

�Can we affect that great a range?�
The women just chuckled, again playing with her hair.

�Yes and so...much more dead Minato,
now go He will be wanting, that piece soon no?�

Minato nodded and proceeded to
teleport, but was stopped by the women.

�I�ll deal with this little thing
ok...oh and you can all me Amelia.� She said with a smile, as he vanished, and
turned back to the group to Anbu, her eyes glowing a pale blue, as did all the
Anbu, at which they all dropped to the ground un gracefully, and faded, from
sight with a smile, and a chuckle.

�When the Anbu opened there eyes blinked
scratching their heads, all of them turning to Fox.

�Ma�m we were on petrol weren�t we?
Why are we like this?� One young male said placing his weapons away in their
rightful pockets. Fox just stared out over Konoha.

�I don�t know...anyway let�s get back
its almost sunset.� And with that they all vanished in a colour of smoke.

�Back at the Ninja academy Kyuubi, Kyu-ni and
Naruto where waiting for the result of Chuunin exam picking.

�So...what did the old prunes want
with you two?� Naruto said and well this got everyone�s attention.

�Oh...about taking the position of
Hokage, that�s all.� Kyu-Ni said as if it didn�t matter in the world.

�So, what was your answer?� Sakura
said knowing that it was a great opportunity.

�We said no.�� Kyuubi said and turned back to the front of
the class, while everyone looked at him, pale faces with shock.

�WHY THE HELL DIDN�T YOU TAKE IT!�
Sakura said rising from her seat, Kyu-ni just turned to her, and spoke calmly.

�Well...our mother was asked by the 4^TH
Hokage for the position, she got the offer first, but declined, then well...it
was our turn, and...� Kyuubi interrupted her at that point.

�We have more pressing issues than
paperwork, and babysitting of wrinkled advisors...we still haven�t decided
yet...ummm� Kyu-ni just shoved her hand over his mouth to stop his speech.

�We have Naruto to consider, in all
of this, and it doesn�t really appeal to us you know.� With that they all
nodded and sat down, that was when Iruka came back into the classroom, with a
folder, and looked at Kyuubi and Kyu-ni.

�Well since you two are last and
everyone has been taken...you can work on your own, since you are both guests,
and have permission from the Hokage and Council.� At this both kinsune looked
at each other with deadpan faces and sighed.

�Well that�s good to know, so when do
the exams start?�

�The day after tomorrow, all participants
arrive tomorrow ready for the next day, when the first stage of the exams will
begin...that�s all, so class dismissed.� Iruka said looking at them all, as
they all walked out the door.�

�Later that night at the Uzamaki estate, while
Kyuubi and sleeping with Naruto in the master suite, Kyu-Ni in the opposite
guest suite, she tossed and turned, sweat forming on her body, she shook, her
breathing heavy, she jumped upright in bed, but what she saw wasn�t the guest
room, but a sea of stars, and glowing cube rotating, a man in a black suit
facing towards it with his arms behind his back, she stepped closer, but felt herself
trapped, by some unknown force, her eyes widened in shock, then she realised
this was no dream, no illusion this was real, and she was small ever so small
to it, and she felt for the first time in ages terrified at what she faced.

�What is all this?� She whispered,
yet it echoed a thousand times louder, in that sea of endless stars, and
finally a calm voice answered her.

�Glimpse...your...future.� �Suddenly she felt as if fire was consumed her
body, golden runes edged painfully into her skin, the smell of burning flesh,
as they became deep, and as she thought she could take no more...she woke up!

Authors Notes: Well sorry for the long delay i hope you all enjoyed this
new chapter, and please read and review... this story will not be cancelled its
just taking a loon time to do with all.
