It didn’t take them long to make it to the bar. Pulling her keys from her purse, Naruko unlocked the doors and turned the alarm off before heading to the back office. She only stopped to pull her jacket off and then she was behind the bar, prepping. But her eyes kept straying towards her husband.

Sasuke was busy taking down the chairs that had been stacked on the tables as he turned and returned the smirk thrown his way. “I bet it’s a mess in there... it may take a while to clean up.”

“I don’t tell you how to do your job... by the way, you may want to get to the bathrooms before people start coming in.” Sasuke was proud of himself. To keep his voice that normal while fucking his wife was the hardest thing he’d ever had to do.

After the drinks were finished, he picked up the tray ad carefully made his way to the table with the giggling girls, setting down one drink for each.

The door opened and a woman stepped in, wearing a long, fur coat. She had a big bag slung over her shoulder and her heels clicked on the wooden floors as she made a bee-line for the table. She reached out and placed a gentle hand on the man’s shoulder, forcing herself to smile.

“Sasuke,” she purred. “It’s been a long time.”

The raven immediately recognized the voice and stiffened as he turned. There she was, Sakura Haruno, right there in front of him. He wasn’t sure what to do. She had tried so many times to get him back and every time failed, who knew what she was planning?

“Sakura... what are you doing here?” He made sure to keep his voice neutral, not wanting to cause any alarm. He wasn’t even sure if she was going to try something.

“Don’t freak out, Sasuke. I’m not here to ‘try anything’.” Sakura smiled again and shifted the bag, her hand tightening on the strap. “I can see it in your eyes that you’re thinking that. I’m here to… Well, is Naruto here? I think he needs to hear this, too.”

Sasuke didn’t move. He made sure to keep her in his sight, he didn’t trust her at all. “She is here but I don’t think we need to do this now...”

“She…” Sakura laughed. “You don’t need to pretend anymore, I obviously know Naruto isn’t a ‘she’. But he needs to hear this.”

Glancing towards the bar, she spotted Naruko there. “Naruto!”

The blonde glanced up and her eyes widened as she saw her worst nightmare standing beside her husband. Telling Kiba to take care of things, she made her way out onto the floor and took her place beside Sasuke, glancing at him uncertainly. “What’s going on?”

“Sakura..., we don’t have time for this now.” He took his wife’s hand and glanced at her quickly. He was getting really nervous and he just wanted to tell Naruko to go in her office or... something. “Baby why don’t you go get some extra glasses from the back, we’re almost out...”

“No…” Naruko answered, glancing at Sasuke and then back to the pink haired woman. “You wanna know what’s going on?” She grabbed Sakura’s wrist and pulled her away from the full table, towards the back of the bar. “Thanks to you and the photo’s you sent to Fugaku, Sasuke was disowned. But you wanna know why he was disowned? Because he chose me over his family. He loves me and together we’re building a life together. I’ve started my transformation.”

The blonde yanked Sakura’s hand up and laid it on her chest. “These are real. And my hair is real. You tried to fuck up our lives, but all you did was make us stronger. With Sasuke’s help, with him by my side, I’m becoming a real woman. And, by the way, Sasuke’s family apologized, so everything you’ve done to try and break us up has failed.”

Sakura looked dumbfounded. She whipped around to look at Sasuke. “You’re… You’re okay with this?” she asked quietly, no trace of malice in her voice. There was only defeat. “You’re okay with being married to someone with fake tits and a fake vagina? You’re… You really want this, don’t you, Sasuke? Him… You want him, no matter what.”

Sasuke stepped forward slowly. What the hell was Naruko thinking going all in like that? “I love Naruko... from the moment I saw her I loved her. “No. No, that’s not true!” Sakura cried, taking a few steps back. Her eyes were locked on both Naruko and Sasuke, and her hand tightened even further on her bag. “I’ve wanted you! I only said all that stuff because that’s what my father kept telling me I wanted, but it’s not true! I’ve only ever wanted you!”

Tears gathered in Sakura’s eyes and she let the bag fall to rest in the crook of her elbow. “You’ve never seen it from my side, either of you! You just think I’m this stuck up little bitch, but did you ever stop to think that I feel the same type of love? What you feel for Naruto, Sasuke, is what I feel for you! You’re my soul mate and you always will be!”

“No, Sakura... Soul mates love each other the same... I don’t have those feelings for you. You just want it so badly that you’re convinced I’m the one for you.” Sasuke stepped a bit closer, he wanted to get to his wife. He could tell Sakura was getting more agitated. “Maybe one day you’ll find your soul mate but... it’s not me...”

“It’s not fair!” Sakura exploded, her eyes following Sasuke as he came to stand beside Naruko.

“You!” She turned her eyes to the blond, her gaze swirling with insane rage. “You stole him! You stole everything! My entire life! He’s my soul mate and you took that away from me! I’ll never find anyone else! I’ll be alone forever now, because… I hate you! I hate everything you are, you disgusting, tranny bitch!”

Sakura’s hand dove into her bag and when she pulled it out, she was holding a pistol. She cocked back the hammer and pointed it straight at Naruko’s chest. “You stole my life and now I’m going to steal yours! You’re going to pay for it!”

The sound of the gunshot blasted through the bar and the customers dove to the floor, screaming.

Sasuke reacted on instinct. He felt his body slam into his wife’s and pain assaulted him instantly. He fell heavily to the floor and stayed there, not sure if he should move, in case he broke something but he needed to know...

“Naruko...” His voice wasn’t as loud as he thought it was going to be. He tried to turn to see where Naruko was but pain laced up through his shoulder and down his arm. Had he been hit...?

Naruko yelped as she was suddenly pushed and lost her footing, tripping over a chair. She flailed her arms to try and catch her balance but she’d been hit too hard. She went flying and the back of her head struck the corner of a wooden table with a sickening crack. She screamed in pain as she spun backwards and landed on the floor. Blood began pooling beneath her head immediately as she laid there stunned.

She heard people screaming and heard calls of, “Call an ambulance!” People were stampeding towards the doors and the vibrations on the floor made her wince and groan quietly. Black spots appeared in her vision as she gasped for breath, all the air knocked from her lungs from the impact.

“Look what you made me do!” Sakura screamed. “You made me shoot my love!” She collapsed on the floor beside Sasuke, covering the bleeding wound with her hands. “It’s okay…” she whispered, tenderly sweeping some of the raven bangs from his forehead. “It’s okay, baby… I’m going to make it okay. Don’t you worry.”

Her eyes trailed over the floor until it came to rest on a broken mug. A puddle of amber liquid seeped from it, beer maybe, coating the shards of glass and making it glint in the dim lighting. She grinned wickedly as she picked up one of the biggest pieces and crawled over to Naruko.

“You bitch! You made me kill Sasuke! You made me kill my lover and now we’ll never be together! Why don’t you just die already!?” Sakura screamed as she hefted the piece of glass over her head and brought it down into Naruko’s gut. She laughed manically as the blond cried out in pain and weakly tried to fight her off. She brought the makeshift weapon down again and again until five stab wounds covered her abdomen. She watched the blood seep out and laughed harder as Naruko’s eyes glazed over and her breathing became erratic with pain.

“How am I supposed to live now?! I can’t live without him!” Tears dripped down Sakura’s cheeks and she sobbed as she dropped the shard of glass, staring down at her bloody, cut palms. “You killed Sasuke and now I can’t live anymore!”

Reaching for the gun that had fallen during the ruckus, Sakura lifted it and stared blankly down at it.

“I can’t…. I can’t go on… I can’t live without my soul mate.” She crawled over to the immobile Uchiha and ran a bloody finger down his cheek. “Don’t worry, baby. I’m coming. I’m coming to you,” she whispered soothingly as she lifted the pistol and pressed the end of it to her temple.

The second gunshot echoed loudly through the room. Blood and brain matter spattered over one of the tables and the floors, and Sakura dropped dead on top of Sasuke, her glassy eyes staring up at the raven. A single tear rolled down her cheek and fell onto his shirt, soaking into the silk.

Almost as if a switch had been turned on, Sasuke’s ears were flooded with the chaotic sounds throughout the bar. The second shot had triggered him back into reality and he had a moment of complete panic when he heard it. His shoulder hurt so badly, he wasn’t sure if he could even move but he had to try... but, there was something heavy on him.

Looking down he saw Sakura... dead on top of him. He didn’t know how to react to what he was seeing, all he could do was turn his head and vomit where he lay. He needed to find his wife...

Gathering what little strength he had, he shoved the woman off with his uninjured arm and dragged himself to where he saw another body. His mind was racing and he begged and prayed that she was alright, that she was still alive...

The raven managed to reach his wife, there was so much blood... she was still bleeding when he got to her, his body right next to hers. He reached out a bloody hand and grasped hers, leaning over so she could hear him. “Naruko... baby... talk to me baby...”

Naruko’s eyes blinked open, but they were hazy. She blinked to try and focus but her vision was much too hazy to see anything. But that voice… that voice and that touch… She’d know it anywhere.

“S-Sas…” she croaked, a quiet whisper the only thing she could manage. Blood dribbled from the corner of her mouth in stark contrast to her abnormally pale, clammy skin. Blood bubbled up from the many wounds covering her stomach and her body trembled with shock and pain.

Sharp, agonizing stabs resounded through her body with every breath she managed to take.

“I’m… so sorry…. I shouldn’t have said anything… M-My fault…” Naruko lifted a weak hand and reached blindly for Sasuke’s cheek. Tears streamed freely over her scarred cheeks and she gasped for breath, coughing out blood. “So sorry….”

Sasuke shook his head as he scooted closer. Pain laced up his shoulder but he didn’t care at that point. “No baby... no. It’s not your fault at all. It’s going to be ok. Kiba called an ambulance.... they’re coming baby... you’ll be alright, I promise...”

He could feel pain lacing up his chest and knew it had nothing to do with his gunshot. If Naruko died... No, he couldn’t think like that. She was going to be alright... he could hear the sirens... “Stay awake with me baby... you have to stay awake.”

“’M awake…” Naruko whispered, though her voice was weak and frail. Her pulse pounded through her ears, but even that was growing weaker. Each breath she took was a struggle. She was so tired; all she wanted to do was close her eyes and sleep. She could feel her lids drooping… drooping… Turning her head when she heard a noise, she saw Kiba drop down beside her.

“You’re going to be okay… They’re almost here…” Kiba choked on a sob as he tore his shirt off and pressed it to her stomach, applying pressure to try and stem the bleeding. It was bad. Really bad. Blood was flowing out at an alarming rate and his knees were soaked with it. He could feel it rubbing slickly against his skin as he shifted closer. Naruko’s blood. His friend’s blood. “Hang on, blondie. Just hang on. You can’t leave us yet, okay? You haven’t had your surgery yet… you haven’t lived as a complete woman yet. Don’t you want that? Don’t you want to adopt a whole bunch of kids and grow old with Sasuke?”

Naruko turned to look at Kiba and opened her mouth to speak, but only more blood rushed out. She choked on it, coughing weakly, but tried again.

“Y-Yes… I w-want that…” Turning her head back to Sasuke, she trailed her thumb over his bottom lip, smearing her own blood there.

“I… love you, Kiba…” Naruko murmured as her eyes drifted closed. She tried to fight it but her lids were so heavy that she couldn’t open them anymore. “And S-Sas… I… I love you… so much… Remember that, okay? Remember…”

She was so heavy; her body felt so heavy and she could feel herself growing colder. The blood beneath her had cooled and provided no further warmth. But the pain was gone, replaced with a chilling numbness. She couldn’t feel anything anymore.

“My… My soul mate…” Naruko managed to utter before her hand fell limply to her side. Unconsciousness took her a moment later and she gasped for air one more time before her heart gave a sluggish beat and went still.

Sasuke stared at his wife, his own eyelids were growing heavy as well... he hadn’t been aware of how much blood he had been losing. He knew it couldn’t end like this... it couldn’t. He had just found Naruko... they had to grow old together... they still had so many things to do together. “I... love you Naruko... I won’t... have to remember... you never miss... an opportunity to... tell me... every chance you get.”

Gathering up the last of his energy, he lifted his head and pressed a kiss to his wife’s cheek. He tried to reach her lips but he was too weak and he felt heaviness take over his body and his vision faded to black.
