Yuudai smiled as he began eating his third bowl of ramen. He smiled at Daichi as the small boy began on his third as well. He loved his brother and he was enjoying his birthday. His mother was ok and seemed cheery though Yuudai had noticed his mother had stopped eating ramen after his first bowl and was now just leaning against the booth seat, his head rolled back on the back of the seat, his eyes closed. Yuudai knew the brunette cross the table from him was making his mother nervous and upset, but Yuudai had promised to be on his best behavior and really didn’t want to lose himself again.
The last time he had, he’d woken up with a bloody Naruto holding him crying. Yuudai had almost killed Gaara and when Naruto had tried to protect the Kazekage, Naruto had been attacked by Yuudai. Yuudai hated himself after that and promised he would never lose himself again to the darkness inside him. He’d done really well, until today, when that man claimed to have hurt his mother. Yuudai had lost it at that moment. He wanted that man dead, but was pulled back seeing the red eyes of his mother. That scared him.
He’d never seen his mother so angry at him before. He’d seen those red eyes once before, when those men in the cave had stabbed him. Yuudai had seen the red eyes, seen the red chakra, all before he blacked out. Yuudai was terrified his mother hated him, but all that faded when the blonde wrapped his arms around Yuudai.
Yuudai finished his third bowl and smiled, snuggling up to Naruto’s side smirking when the brunette across the table twitched a little. So the man didn’t like seeing anyone touch Naruto. Now Yuudai knew how to get to the man.
“Hey mom, can we go make sure Bay is ok?” Yuudai asked softly. He knew the dog had fought to protect Naruto when no one else could. He actually hoped the dog was ok.
“Yeah, then afterwards we can go to the park,” Naruto said tiredly, not looking at anyone since his eyes were still closed. Yuudai frowned.
“Naruto, are you ok?” Gaara asked placing his hand on the blonde’s thigh.
“Yeah, just had a rough month. First I had a three week long mission, come home to Sasuke’s return, and then I lose myself for a while and… hurt you two” He said softly shaking his head. “I am just ready to sleep for a long time” he mumbled, smiling softly and peeking at Yuudai. “We’ll go to sleep forever ne Yuudai? Ne Daichi?”
Daichi looked up from his bowl and pouted. “But Dai no likes ta sheep mama!” Naruto laughed softly, then got up stretching.
“Are you two done feasting? Shall we go make sure Bay is alright?” Daichi finished the broth in his bowl and got up bouncing.
“Yes! Dai done!” Naruto picked up the smaller redhead. Smiling he nuzzled the boy’s neck.
“Alright, lets go.” Naruto led the two children out, ignoring the two men as they paid for the food. They were both still in the dog house.

Naruto smiled softly petting the large black dog. He smiled watching Daichi crawl onto the dog. Bay’s tail thumped softly onto the table and looking over the dog licked the boy’s small face gaining a squeal of joy. Yuudai smiled softly petting the dog’s rough fur. He would give Bay praise for protecting Naruto and nearly dying in the process. Bay looked at Yuudai and leaned over licking the boy’s cheek. Yuudai blushed, backing away rubbing his cheek and glaring at the dog. Nope, he hated dogs.
Naruto laughed leaning over and kissing Yuudai’s cheek, smiling softly.
“You love it, admit it, you love getting slobbered on.” Yuudai rolled his eyes sighing.
“As if… dogs are gross and they smell bad.” Yuudai blinked at Bay seeing the dog shift nervously. There was no way Bay understood him… Was there?
“He loves you the most Yuudai. You are his master, even though you refuse to admit it, or even go near him half the time.” Yuudai frowned looking at the dog. He sighed shaking his head and getting up.
“I don’t want any more dogs after Bay is gone… Bay is special.” Yuudai blinked in surprise. He could have sworn he saw Bay’s pink nose go bright red before the dog looked at Daichi, his face completely turned away from Yuudai. Ok, Yuudai was seriously seeing things.
“Well, the vet says we can get him out tomorrow. They wanna keep him overnight again to make sure he’s really ok. So tomorrow morning we can come back and get Bay, sound good?” Yuudai sighed, nodding and crossing his arms.
“Yeah sure,” he said softly, but deep down he was actually happy to soon be having the dog back home. Yuudai blushed shaking the thought out of his head. He only wanted Bay home so the dog could protect the house again... Yeah that was all, Yuudai hated dogs.

Naruto walked into the house slowly and frowned. There were no signs of blood, or any sign of a fight at all, like the kind having gone on there. He sighed rubbing his eyes slowly. Chiyoko had promised to make everything right if he just let her talk to the Kyuubi. He didn’t think she would work that fast, or get everything that clean. It’s fox magic stupid boy. Get used to it. Naruto frowned and slowly walked inside, the two boys following after him. Naruto looked back at Sasuke and Gaara, surprised that neither had started fighting with each other today. Naruto shrugged it off then walked to the kitchen
“Yuudai… Daichi… go play in your room, ok? We’ll go out to Grandma Iruka’s and Grandpa Kakashi’s later today for presents and cake,” Naruto said with a smile. Watching Daichi bolt to his room, Yuudai sighed and followed the smaller boy slowly. Yuudai really hated birthday get-togethers. It was always people giving him attention that he didn’t very well care for and gifts he never really used.
Naruto walked to the kitchen, frowning slightly at the two men.
“Sit down I’ll make some tea,” Naruto said coldly. He was still really upset at the two men, but their lack of fighting with each other was making it a bit easier to stand them. Plus he made both of the men pay for everything… lunch, ice cream, Bay’s vet bill… Naruto smirked. If they kept it up, Naruto wouldn’t be mad at them anymore.
“Naruto…. There’s something bothering you. What is it?” Naruto looked at Gaara with a tired expression and sighed, rubbing his eyes.
“I don’t know Gaara… I really don’t... I think it’s just lack of sleep, stress, and worry about everything,” Naruto stated as he began making the tea.
