Name: Akane Fusou (Hibiscus in Japanese)
Age: Just turned 18 in May
Height: 5'6

Appearance difference between being at home and being in the Sand Village: Akane Fusou is the sitting ruler of the Village of the Hidden Oasis. It is a secluded paradise, sitting within an inactive volcano. The heat from the lava underneath brings a tropical temperature and lush greenery that is exclusive to the area. The surrounding mountains are icy and barren. The Village of the Hidden Oasis is not a typical village, as it hardly has any actual villagers. The citizens are monks, who train as assassins, guardians, or disciples. Outside of the monks, who are both male and female, are specialized merchants to sell off the plants and poisons to the other nations. As active ruler, Akane is lived a pious, but grand life since he was a child. He would normally wear brightly colored clothing, intricately patterned while living in the large castle, filled with many gardens. He would be heavily ornamented and 'dolled up', as Kankuro might say.
While in the Sand Village, Akane was amazed at how plain most of the clothing is. Most of the villagers wear black and brown, with hardly any greenery or plant life. Being a pious person, he opted to have a simple one room apartment in a rundown part of town, since his patrol has him on a night schedule. His clothes are also simple now, but occasionally, he'll wear his regal robes, which Kankuro approves off since they 'look like a dress.' Most noticeably, Akane has bright red hair and bright green eyes. His lips are naturally glossed over and pink, as he explains, that the most poisonous things in the world are brightly colored, so they don't get eaten. Only an idiot like Kankuro would think bright colors are cute, and eat it anyway.
Personality: Akane is normally very collected, being trained as a monk most of his life. He is strictly vegetarian, and prefers to eat raw or boiled food only. His favorite foods include fresh fruit, green tea, and vegetable instant ramen. As sitting ruler, he has taken up the position of Vice-Captain of his Vanguard, which is the name for his village's Royal Army. When the Vanguard was asked to be temporarily relocated to the Sand Village by the Kazekage, himself, Akane agreed, so long as the Kazekage kept up the deal of heavy trading with them. Early in childhood, Akane even had a run in with Sasuke, who tried to steal formulas from their vault under Orochimaru's orders. Sasuke failed, being stopped by Akane's poisonous techniques so badly, he had to recovery for nearly a week. The young prince hardly remembers the encounter, but Sasuke hasn't forgotten.
Being secluded, Akane hasn't had many friends, and absolutely no personal relationships to speak of. It wasn't until Kankuro, was he even kissed, as no one would kiss him because they knew his lips were poisonous. To be perfectly honest, the only reason Akane is sitting ruler is because his father is such a loose man. Though a kind ruler, his father is known to run off on 'honeymoon' with new a new bride every few years. Akane is the eldest of the remaining children in the village. The young prince guesses that he has about 17 siblings scattered about, only 3 of which are in court. Eventually, his father will return, but Akane has no desire to leave his home permanently. He is a natural when it comes to his bloodline powers, which include summoning poisonous plants, emitting deadly spores, healing quickly, and processing other poisons inflicted on him at a rapid rate...
Kankuro brings out the worst in Akane, causing him for get worked up, curse, and yell quite often. He is often seen being very dramatic on one end, and Kankuro laughing about it on the other.
Sexuality: Akane would swear that he has an interest in women, which is partially true. He had a huge crush on a girl from his village when he was about 6, so what if she was his babysitter? He hadn't had many friends, and was surprised when Kankuro started to follow him around. He was even more surprised to be seen naked, kissed, then all, but raped. Kankuro is such a bulldozer, Akane hasn't had time to confirm his feelings or not, but seems to be taken by Kankuro's forwardness.
Overall, Akane does like Kankuro, whether he wants too or not. The overwhelming presence is comforting and sex isn't so bad either.

Name: Kankuro
Age: Turn 22 in May
Height: 5'10

Appearance difference between 18 and 22: As far as looks go, Kankuro hasn't changed much. He finished his growth spurt, topping off at 5'10. This makes him taller than Gaara, but not as tall as Shiro. His hair is still spiky and brown, his face clean shaven so that it's easier to apply his 'war paints'. Kankuro has never been big on change, as he is who he is.
Personality: Kankuro has always been rough around the edges, speaking in a gruff tone of voice and shortening words for more of a street accent. There is a definite difference between how he speaks and how Gaara speaks. The rough edges seem to cover a gooey center though, as he's always been looking for love. Despite his reputation with women, Kankuro has normal aspirations when it comes to his life. He wants a young housewife, a handful of kids, and his usually deadly, puppeteering post at for the village. Unfortunately, Kankuro is quite shallow on the outside. His hunt for the perfect wife has been based on entirely looks, so he usually hooks up with the prettiest, high-maintenance nightmares he can find. This lead him in a constant downward spiral of being dumped, cheated on, and one night stand'ed over and over again.
Girls that genuinely liked him were dismissed as being too plain, or at least, did not fit into the ridiculously long list of things that Kankuro wanted in a woman. Those that know him best, also know that he had a little brother complex, as he insist his girls to be small, with red hair and black outlined eyes, eerily similar to Gaara. Even the most beautiful of the women Kankuro dated would be pressured into dyeing their hair red or encouraged heavily to wear more eye liner. Sadly, no one ever got past Kankuro's grueling physical demands to notice that there is a genuinely nice guy underneath, who was very serious and passionate. He is also very doting and notices things that normally people would not, such as he already had Akane's favorite foods pegged just after 2 weeks of following him around.
Sexuality: Kankuro is straight, and will claim to be so until the day he dies. He also claims that if not for thinking Akane was a woman the entire time they were 'dating', he wouldn't be with him now. Whether or not any of that is actually true, is entirely debatable, though Gaara says it isn't. Kankuro has had many, many partners, to the point where Sasuke says he better turn gay or move, because he's nailed most of the girls in the village. He's even had sex with girls he didn't find that attractive, because he tends to drink while depressed.
Akane is the first man Kankuro has ever, and will ever according to him, sleep with. Even so, he still claims to be the 'man' in the relationship and slips, on occasion, calling Akane his girlfriend. When corrected, he usually says, "Yeah, that too." Just because he's with a man now, doesn't mean he was an amateur at 'doing things up the tail pipe'. As he says, 'lots of girls let me do it that way too.' He is an amateur, however, at relationships. Akane has been with him the longest, causing Kankuro to reach out to his 'fag-happy' friends for advice. He will also sneak a read at Boy Love magazines, trying to see if there's something he's just not getting. He figures he'll keep winging it, until Akane complains.

Shiro was originally made to the a seme for Gaara, but it didn't quite work out that way! Shiro's passive nature enjoys Gaara's demanding, and well, look what happened!

Akane is based off Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho. There is a scene at the end of that series where Kurama is confused for Kuwabara's girlfriend, and even plays along with it. I wanted to create a character with Kurama's powers and looks, but a more childish and naive personality. Also wanted to add the humor that is found in 'straight guy confuses pretty boy for a pretty girl. Hilarity ensues.' Kuwabara reminds me of Kankuro, personality wise. It seemed like a good fit.
The names Akane and Shiro, mean Crimson and White, after their matching hair colors.
The twins, Shino and Kana, were meant to be both boys, but I thought Sasuke would be fun as a doting and protective father of his daughter. He dresses her up and has fun showing her off in town. Kana also enjoys it, since she likes to brag. Kana also looks the most like Sasuke, but Shino doesn't look too much like Naruto. He has strawberry blonde, instead of Naruto's bright yellow hair. Naruto thinks it's because of Kyuubi's red fur or his mother's hair that it came out like that.
Kankuro use to dislike kids, but enjoys babysitting his nephew. He is determined to be the 'fun' uncle, and is in competition with Gaara for the spot.
My favorite parts to write are the play fights between Sasuke and Naruto. They come out very naturally to show that even as lovers, they still have that shine of best friends who are still very competitive.
