Obito smirked as he landed at Logan International and the text message came in from Anko. Kisame chuckled in his ear. “What are you smirking about?”
Obito turned his head to his husband and whispered, “That fucker is locked in the holding cell. He fucked with Sasuke and Naruto. Itachi and Dei caught him and sent him over to Boston for us with the transport team. Anko said he was just locked up in the holding cells.”
Kisame growled. “I can't believe the asshole had the balls to show up in North Dakota to attack them. He'd have been far better off to stay the fuck away.”
Obito nodded as a bone chilling grin spread across his face. “But now we get to have some fun.” He smirked, “I may not have been theUchiha family, but I'm really looking forward to being an Uchiha in the most sadistic sense of the name today.”
Kisame nodded and grabbed both of their carry on bags. “Let's go meet our newest guest. Wonder if he's enjoying his cellmates company?”
Obito chuckled and headed off the plane in front of his husband. The two of them quickly made their way through customs and back to their holding cells in the run down warehouse they kept their less savory pieces of the operation. Kakuzu and Hidan had been smuggled into the country just after the raid on their own warehouse. So far they'd given up no information on their activities and whether or not there was any remaining threat to Naruto and Sasuke.
Anko chuckled as she saw her bosses walk into the observation room for the holding cells their guests were in. “Hey Bossman.”
Obito shook his head and leveled a half-assed glare at his lieutenant before looking into the holding cells. It looked like the three were bickering, but they'd been chained far enough apart they couldn't actually reach each other. “Have they behaved so far?”
Anko flipped the switch to allow the audio to flood the room. “fucking caused us to get captured you little fucking freak!” Hidan's voice boomed out.
Tama growled. “Just because you two were too caught up in your fucking of each other to feel something was off isn't my goddamn problem.”
Kakuzu chuckled lowly. “Well it only bought you a couple weeks didn't it? Now you're in the same position we are.” He sighed. “I wish they'd unchain us. I'd save them the trouble of having to kill you.”
There were a couple loud bangs as Tama jumped up to choke Kakuzu and Hidan jumped up to defend him. The chains had caught and clanged as the men reached the end of their tethers. Both glaring at each other before slowly making their way back to their respective benches.
Anko flipped the audio off again. “Tama got here yesterday. It's been this non-stop. They haven't even realized they haven't been fed yet today they've been going at it so hard.”
Obito shook his head. “Well I should probably go say hello.”
Kisame chuckled. “Yeah, we definitely should.”
The two men put on their killer faces as they opened the door to the holding cell. “Hello, gentlemen,” Kisame said quietly. “We have some business to discuss. Who wants to go first?”
The three ex-Akatsuki thugs glared at the man, but said nothing. Although they were bickering internally, they would stand united against the Uchiha. Obito chuckled as Kisame cracked his knuckles. “I believe my husband asked you a question.”
Hidan raised an eyebrow in Obito's direction. “You shits don't want to talk. You want us dead and out of your hair.”
Kisame barked out a short peal of laughter. “If we only wanted you dead, we'd have left your bodies in Japan.” He walked over to Hidan and grabbed the man by his hair, connecting his knee to the man's forehead and knocking him out. “No, we want to make sure a message gets sent loud and clear. Uchiha family may be officially done, but don't fuck with what's left.”
Tamasine growled. “And we just want to be left the fuck alone. Why do you need to do this?”
Obito glared and slowly approached the bad side of Zetsu. His enemies knew that this silent, panther-like Obito was much deadlier than the Obito who ran into the situation with his guns drawn. He slowly circled his prey, chuckling softly as he smelt the fear rolling off Tama. “And you,” Obito purred quietly. “When my nephew and his husband were in Japan, minding their own business. How much did you just leave them alone?” He pulled his trusty hunting knife out and slowly extended the blade, smirking as the blade clicked and locked into place. “You see, my friend, you brought this on to yourself.”
Obito stopped behind the man and elbowed the back of his head, dazing Tama before grabbing his chained arms behind him and digging the knife into Tama's bicep. Tama cried out in pain as the knife pierced his arm. Obito put his lips directly against Tama's ear. “I would prefer not to do this. I like being a family man, not a mafia man. But you fuck with my family, you fuck with me.”
Kakuzu finally spoke up. “Leave him alone. You're the reason we can no longer get any work. When you stormed Akatsuki, you killed all our contacts. No one will work with us anymore.”
Kisame pulled Kakuzu over by his chains. “And how do you figure that means kidnapping Naruto-kun was somehow acceptable and excusable?”
Kakuzu glared at Kisame as he stumbled. “Fuck, man.” He sighed. “We had to supplement our income. Your nephew's wealth was an easy target. You used to be one of us. You should understand why we targeted them.”
Obito sniffed disdainfully. “I would understand if we hadn't already taken down both families previously. Attacking the group responsible for the downfall of the main branch Uchiha and Akatsuki just seems dumb as fuck to me.” He sighed as he wiped his knife clean on Hidan's shirt.
Obito put his hand on Kisame's shoulder. “Trip to Canada needed in the next week.” Kisame nodded and held the chain taught, pulling Kakuzu's arm behind the man awkwardly. He dropped his elbow onto the arm as hard as he could, shattering it just above the elbow. He smirked at the man's pained scream before he passed out.
When the two of them walked back into the observation room, they noticed Deidara was there with Anko. “We're doing disposal in Canada. I have a couple high up contacts who owe me a significant favor.” He smiled at Deidara. “We're not healing anything and they're not going to be a problem after this week.”
Deidara smiled as he skipped from the room and into the holding cell. He opened the door and in a sing-song voice he said, “Hello boys! I'm back!”
Naruto bounced as Itachi hung up the phone. “Well?”
Itachi shook his head. “Naruto, you literally have no level of chill do you?”
Hinata chuckled. “You've known him for how long and you're just noticing this?” She smirked as her boyfriend shook his head. “But, seriously, well?”
Itachi smiled. “Shouldn't we wait for Sasuke and Zetsu to get here before we talk about the fate of his evil twin?”
Naruto pouted. Sasuke had volunteered to pick up Zetsu from the airport to keep Naruto from overdoing anything, but now Obito had called Itachi and he didn't want to wait for the information. Itachi however, was not going to budge. Naruto knew the man well enough to know this. He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back into the couch he was currently sitting on. “If you're not going to give me information, can you at least start the kettle so I can have some tea?”
Hinata smiled and handed Baki to Naruto before moving to the kitchen. “I know how you take it, big brother. I'll bring it out ready. You just play with your nephew.”
Naruto smiled at Baki as the boy leaned forward and stared directly into his eyes. He glanced at Itachi quickly. “Are you ever going to ask her?”
Itachi chuckled as Baki pulled Naruto's face back so he could look into the blue eyes. “I have the ring. I'm just trying to figure out the right moment.”
Naruto laughed. “There's no right moment.” He blew out softly into Baki's face, setting the boy into hysterical giggles. “She loves you. She wants to marry you.”
Itachi sighed and looked toward the kitchen. “I'm still trying to figure out how to tell her the harder news about Hanabi.”
Naruto nodded. His voice was calm and serious rather than the boisterous cheerful voice he tended to use most times. “I know it's hard, but you need to. If you don't in the next couple of days I'm going to have to. I'm happy for us to do it together if it's easier, but even if it's hard, it has to be done. She needs to know.”
Itachi nodded. “I'd like to do it together. Maybe I'm a chickenshit, but I just can't bring her any pain.”
Baki giggled. “Uh Na! Chishi!”
Naruto snorted. “Baki, Daddy said a bad word. Don't say that one. Say sillybilly.”
Baki looked at his dad and brow furrowed in an extremely cute version of an Uchiha glare. “Dada say ba wod?”
Itachi smiled and walked over to kiss his son's forehead. “Yes, Baki. Daddy said a bad word. What should my punishment be?”
Baki smiled and looked at Naruto. “Daddy Uh Na! Uh Na fix!”
Naruto chuckled. “Should I choose Daddy's punishment, Baki?” He smiled as the baby nodded. “Is that what I should do?” When Baki smiled at Naruto, he peeked up at Itachi. “I think Daddy's punishment is to say he's sorry and never say bad words again.”
Itachi shook his head slightly before smiling at Naruto and his son. “I suppose that is an acceptable punishment.” He looked into Baki's eyes and said “I'm sorry that I said a bad word and I will never say one again.” He turned his head to look at Naruto and added “while you're around” to make sure it wasn't a lie.
Naruto nodded and looked at Baki. “He looks so much like you both.” He smiled fondly, wondering what his and Sasuke's child would look like.
Hinata smiled as she opened the door to see her boyfriend and Naruto playing with Baki. “Itachi, take Baki would you so Naruto can have his tea?”
Itachi nodded and picked up his son as Hinata handed Naruto the tea. Naruto took a sip gratefully. “Thank you, Hinata.” He smiled softly at her. “You are the best sister I could have asked for.” Naruto finished his tea just as he heard a car pull into the driveway.
When Sasuke opened the door, he found himself with arms full of Naruto. Not an unwelcome or uncommon occurrence. “I wasn't gone that long, Nar.” He smiled though and gave a quick kiss to his husband's temple.
Naruto smiled and brought a hand up to caress Sasuke's cheek. “I missed you though.” Naruto pulled back from Sasuke and saw Zetsu standing awkwardly behind Sasuke looking slightly unsure of himself. Naruto kissed Sasuke's cheek before stepping around him to grab Zetsu and wrap him in a tight hug. “I'm so glad you're okay.”
Zetsu flinched at first at the unexpected contact, but quickly wrapped his arms around Naruto in return. He and Sasuke had reached something of an understanding during the drive. While Sasuke couldn't completely overlook the kidnapping he had forgiven Zetsu. They'd had a good talk and Zetsu was now firmly on team Uchiha. “Thank you for helping me.”
Sasuke turned toward Itachi and Hinata as he let Zetsu and Naruto spend some time getting reacquainted. “Anything new?”
Itachi nodded. “When they've had a few minutes and we put Baki down for his nap, we'll talk about it.” He frowned as he watched Hinata with Baki. “And I'm going to tell Hinata the rest.”
Sasuke bit his lip. “Do you want us to take off before you do that?” He frowned as Naruto and Zetsu settled down on the couch near Hinata and Baki. “We can take Zetsu back to our place since he'll need to get settled in anyway.” He sighed. “I forgive him, but I don't feel good about him being in our place. He's different like Dei said. This one is a good guy, but it's still creepy as fuck.”
Itachi chuckled. “Don't let Baki hear you. He's started repeating things. You just missed me getting in trouble by Naruto and Baki because I said chickenshit.”
Baki yawned loudly, stealing the attention of all the adults in the room. Hinata chuckled softly. “Alright, Mr. It sounds like it's nap time for you.” Baki curled into her shoulder and rubbed his eyes. “I'll be right back,” Hinata said as she excused herself.
Itachi moved forward to shake hands with Zetsu. “Deidara vouched for you. That's good enough in my book.”
Zetsu nodded and sighed. “I won't be hanging around long. My home is Tokyo and I miss it, but I just had to come here and see for myself that Naruto was okay.”
Itachi smirked. “And Naruto would have bothered us until you came so he could see for himself anyway. He's annoying like that.”
Naruto stuck his lip out and pouted. “I would not have.” At Sasuke and Itachi's twin raised eyebrows he relented, “much.”
Sasuke settled into the armchair while Itachi sat on the love seat across from Naruto and Zetsu. When Hinata came back, he opened his arms to invite her to sit next to him. After they were settled, Itachi let his eyes scan across the four others who were gathered. “Obito and Dei are making arrangements to dispose of the threats to the three of you. They're planning to hold the three of them for the next week to learn what they can and send a message to anyone else that may want to mess with our families.”
He took a deep breath. “I don't suppose these three will come back out of that compound alive.” He turned to Hinata and paused, looking her eyes before pressing on. “The one thing we got out of Tama for certain, is that he was working with Hanabi.”
Hinata gasped and raised her hand to her mouth. Itachi held her as tears welled up in her eyes. “I have missed her so much and she's helping people hurt my brother.” Her tears began to fall and her shoulders shook before a heart wrenching sob ripped from her throat.
Naruto put a hand on Itachi's shoulder. Itachi nodded, knowing that the other three were leaving to give them space. Turning his attention back to Hinata, he held tight, knowing there was little else he could do right now.
