When Jiraiya awoke, he realized that the other half of the couch was empty. He looked around, somewhat confused. He was alone in the room. “Is he gone already?”
-Oro! – no reply- Oro!!!- he was disappointed. He wished his friend would answer.- Oro?- he asked one last time, feeling that it’s pointless, however. He sighed as he crawled out of the bed.
-What now?- asked Oro, slightly irritated, as he stepped in, with his arms, folded- What is all the yelling for? Can’t you just come here if you want something?
-It’s not like that!- he said quickly.- I... thought that you have left.-he admitted.
-Excuse me?!! You thought that I would leave you like that? Just. Just why would I do such a thing...?
- Don’t ask me... – “you are quite unpredictable” he wanted to say. - You have done that before.- he raised an eyebrow.
-But that...! Ahh!- he sighed- I made you tea.- he smiled, brushing the issue away.
Orochi entered the kitchen. He placed two cups on the small table, and then removed the pot from the fire.
-Hey! Oro...!- the tall male scratched the back of his head.
-Yes, Jiraiya?- he turned towards him with a sweet smile, as he reached the table with the teapot in his hand.
- So... –Jiraiya tried.
-So?- Oro asked with a chuckle, as he turned to face Jiraiya, folding his arms.
-So, are we... together? – He finally spitted, scratching his neck.
Oro was stunned. However he has been expecting this question to come soon or later. He wished things were easier.
However he wanted to break up with the guy several times, he still had feelings for Kenji. And the man has been really kind to him. Mostly kind. Yet right now, he was in Jiraiya’s home. Could he be with two men at the same time? Is it even possible?
-I can’t just say it right now.
-Ook. I don’t want to rush things...- muttered Jiraiya.- and if you don’t want to...
-I just... need some time.-he forced a smile and poured some tea to both cups and waved Jiraiya to sit down.
-Alright, then. So...-he sighed- what would you like to do today?
-Umm...
- It’s time to make a ‘regular person’ out of you, Oro-cat! Remember?
-Haha, sure. –“as if that’d be even possible” he thought.- but let’s attend to our job, first.
- Why did you have to remind me?- Jiraiya pouted.
-Seriously, Jiraiya. When will you grow up?
-Seriously, Oro. When will you start enjoying life?- he bit back.- We won’t stay young forever. It’s time to go crazy, make mistakes and simply do things... things that you might not be able to do ever again! Is there anything you’d like to try, something you wanna do?
-Would you run away with me? - He whispered, as the possibility flashed through his mind, without thinking over.
-What? Sorry, I couldn’t hear you.
-Nothing, really.- he looked sideways, then turned back, smiling. –I have never been thinking about it. Besides, it’s foolish.
-Foolish? You already sound like a 60 years old.
-How dare you!
-Then why don’t you ease up?
- I’ll show you how spontaneous I can be!
Jiraiya started choking and almost spit the tea. – I want to see that! –he grunted.
-You don’t believe that I can be spontaneous?
- Of course, if you say so, I believe you.- he teased.
Orochi laughed somewhat nervously and took a sip of tea. Jiraiya grabbed his hands as he put the cup back.
-What no-w- started Oro, but he was cut off, by Jiraiya’s warm, loving eyes. Orochimaru couldn’t help but smile, as he melted in the other’s gaze.
There and then, he felt like nothing else existed, but their love. As if time had stopped and for them, only.
Time.
Time could solve many things.
And as long as Kenji is away, he has got some time to spend with Jiraiya and get a better understanding of these new feelings he developed.
Or at least that’s what flashed through Orochimaru’s mind.
