Chapter 16: Enacting the Plans

“Come on we better report this to Lord Danzō.” The ponytailed ANBU whispered to his comrade before they both vanished in a swirl of leaves.

As she went to take a step forward she was interrupted by Naruto. “But we still have almost four hours of daylight.”

The sun was setting as they crested a hill and looked down upon a little farming village. But they were killed during the last Great Ninja War.” Shizune replied sadly as she watched Naruto stare off into space. “Are you thinking about your dad?” she asked sitting beside him on the futon.

“Do you want to be Hokage someday?” Shizune asked curiously.

“Fuck no, why would I want to be Hokage for those ungrateful assholes.” Naruto replied vehemently turning away to stare back into space. He got up, grabbed his change of clothes and walked into the bathroom shutting the door behind him.

He stepped into the shower and sensed that Shizune had left the suite and returned to the one she was sharing with Tsunade.

“Here we go!” Naruto whispered as he looked at the seal. He placed his right hand on the seal and channeled chakra into the seal. The seal began to glow a blue color and Naruto rotated his hand to the left. His hand was pricked by a small needle before the light of the seal faded until it disappeared from the scroll case. Naruto snapped open the seal his mouth hanging open at what was written on it.

“This scroll is the legacy of Asura Ōtsutsuki; only those that possess my blood may open and read this scroll.” Naruto read aloud as his fox tenant read his thoughts, ‘who is Asura Ōtsutsuki?’

“He is the youngest son of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, the Sage of the Six Paths.” Kurama replied a little awe in his voice. “I knew I would like you Naruto.” Kurama laughed as he looked at the scroll through his Jinchūriki’s eyes.

“This scroll contains all the knowledge that I Asura Ōtsutsuki have learned during my life. The following includes Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Kenjutsu, Genjutsu, Summoning Jutsu, Sage Jutsu (for those that can achieve this level) and finally my personal weapons, tools and armors.” Naruto continued to read aloud.

“Keep looking Naruto let’s find what that strong aura of power is coming from.” Kurama said in his head and he eagerly followed the fox’s suggestion. Naruto continued to flick through the scrolls contents coming to another seal.

“There that’s the seal I wonder what’s been sealed there.” Kurama said as he looked at the complicated set of seals.

“Should I open it or not?” Naruto asked as he studied the multi-layered seal.

“Open it; you should be able to re-seal it if you need to.” Kurama encouraged as he and Naruto practiced how to unseal the layered seal.

“How do I open this seal I’ve never seen it before?” Naruto asked as he continued to look over the seal.

“It looks like a variation of the six paths seal, not too similar to the eight sign seal that you have.” Kurama replied to the blonde who nodded.

“So what do I do?” The blonde Jinchūriki poured chakra into his right hand and placed it on the seal and following Kurama’s instructions rotated his hand to the right 90° degrees unlocking the first seal.

“Next step?” Naruto asked taking his hand off of the seal. As Kurama told him the next step, he placed his hand back on the seal and rotated his hand to the left one 180° degrees. The seal unlocked and he took his hand back off the seal.

“Huh a combination seal, for this you will have to move the seal left then right.” Kurama said as he determined what the seal was.

Naruto followed the fox’s instructions rotating the seal left 90° degrees and then rotated the seal to the right 270° degrees unlocking the second to last layer of the multiple layered seal. “Hey Kurama isn’t this last seal a blood seal?” Naruto asked.

“Yes be careful, but I think that you will be ok, since you’ve been able to read the scroll so far.” Kurama replied as he stopped sending chakra to the Jinchūriki.

Naruto nicked his right palm and placing his hand on the seal he began to pour chakra into his hand. Below his hand the seal began to glow red as his chakra infused blood traced the entire seal. He rotated his hand 360° degrees to the right. The red light of the seal turned blue and then a small explosion of smoke obscured the scroll. As the smoke dispersed lying on the scroll was a long black and blood red katana with a demon’s head at the base of the hilt and on the guard. There was also a short tantō with a dragon engraved into the flat of the blade.

“Muramasa the Demon Sword and the Dragon’s Tooth (a Fudo Masamune blade), wow no wonder this seal was radiating such power.” Kurama said as Naruto looked at the scroll again.

On the scroll was another seal made of two circles. On the line of the inner circle were five circles at 20°, 100°, 180°, 250° and 340° degrees. Each of the circles had a small symbol or word inside them representing that the spot had been filled with an item

“Hey Kurama do you sense anything from this seal?” Naruto asked as he studied the seal.

“Yes I’m still sensing a lot of power coming from the seal.” Kurama replied as he looked at the seal. “Huh Caliburn, Balmung, Fragarach, Angurvadal and The War Blade, why are these words familiar?” Kurama spoke aloud in Naruto’s mind.

“You know what those symbols say?” Naruto asked astonished the fox could make sense of the symbols or words as he now knew them to be.

“Yeah but don’t ask me how. Maybe it’s from then hmmm, maybe.” Kurama replied as Naruto prepared to unseal the objects. Naruto poured chakra in to his palm through to his fingers and placed them on the five circles. He rotated his hand 180° left then 270° to the right. In a burst of smoke there appeared on top of the scroll was a group of five swords of designs he had never seen before.

“Huh they’re all double edged swords, where do they come from?” Naruto asked looking at the seven swords on the futon beside him. “Um which one is which?” Naruto asked as he picked Muramasa and began studying the black blade inlaid with blood red words.

“Muramasa, Dragon’s Tooth, the War Blade or the Blade of War I’m not positive and Balmung.” Kurama read the names on the blades as Naruto picked up each one and studied the blade, guard, the hilt and for the double edged swords the pommel. “Kurama what are these things at the base of the grip?” Naruto asked the fox.

“They’re called a pommel, usually a studded piece of metal, a gem or a particular symbol if the sword is made for an organization or clan or something similar.” Kurama replied as Naruto picked up Fragarach.

Naruto almost dropped the sword as his chakra flared when he held the sword. On the cross guard of the hilt two runes glowed blue as a hissing sound surrounding him and the blade. “Kurama what’s going on?” Naruto asked his knuckles turning white as his grip tightened on the leather bound grip.

“The sword is reacting to your chakra or the other way around it seems.” Kurama replied as Naruto pulled the blade up in front of his face and studied the glowing writing at the base of the blade.

“Fragarach or the Wind Blade also known as the Retaliator or the Answerer as no one can lie in its presence.” Naruto said his eyes glowing blue as his wind affinity chakra interacted with the elemental magic in the sword. Naruto spun the blade around and Kurama seeing through Naruto’s eyes watched in amazement as a name was erased from the blade and Naruto’s replaced it.

Naruto eyes closed as he sunk unto the futon as the magic drain on his chakra left him exhausted. “Hopefully using this sword doesn’t leave me drained like this every time I use it.” Naruto muttered as he felt the flow of his chakra slowly return to normal. Naruto laid Fragarach on the futon beside him and picked up the next sword.

  “Caliburn,” Kurama told Naruto the sword’s name before the blonde placed it with the others after he finished studying it from tip to pommel. Naruto turned and picked up the last of the swords.

“Angurvadal,” Kurama told Naruto whose chakra once again reacted to the sword. The runes on the flat of the blade glowed like starlight, the blade itself coated in a thin layer of ice.

“Angurvadal also known as the Stream of Anguish, the blade can only be wielded by those who have suffered betrayal and loss.” Naruto spoke in a monotone his eyes glowing in an icy blue light. Naruto shook his head as he snapped back to reality. “Not again?” He groaned as laid back placing the Angurvadal next to Fragarach.

“Seal the swords back up Naruto.” Kurama said as Naruto sat up and ran his hands over the two swords by his side.

Naruto sealed the five other swords away leaving only the two swords he had bonded to out. “What should I do with these two I can’t carry them around like a katana?” Naruto asked the fox.

“Place a seal on your clothes that you can seal the swords into and unseal quickly.” Kurama replied as Naruto looked at his gear and decided to place the seals on his two vambraces.

Naruto followed Kurama’s instruction on which type of seal would be best then following the fox’s instructions created the seals on the underside of the vambraces. With the seals completed he sealed Fragarach on his left vambraces and Angurvadal on his right vambrace. “Well that was tiring.” Naruto muttered as he fell into an exhausted sleep.

Naruto was awoken as he heard a commotion outside his room. Getting up he looked around to see Shizune sneak into the room.

“Shizune what’s going on? What is with all the commotion?” Naruto asked the black haired woman as she motioned for him to get dressed as she threw his change of clothes at him.

“Lady Tsunade is in a rush to leave and she looks very angry right now, so get dressed and let’s go.” Shizune said as she turned her back on Naruto as he dressed sealing his stuff into a scroll and giving it to her to hold on to.

Shizune attached the chain to Naruto’s iron collar and he followed her out into the hallway. Instantly he was suspicious. Standing in the middle of the hall was Tsunade and Jiraiya yet something about them was off, was it their scent or the way they stood glaring at him as he followed behind Shizune.

“Let’s go.” Tsunade snapped as she turned on her heel and lead the way out of the hotel, with Jiraiya next to her and Shizune and Naruto following.

  “Hey Shizune does something feel off about them?” Naruto whispered to the woman walking beside him.

“Yeah, somethings off, why what do you sense?” Shizune asked as well as answered the blonde’s question.

“Their scents are off like it’s just not their own but has someone else’s scent too, but not like they’ve had sex with the person, their scents seem to be shifting but I can only sense one chakra and that is their own.” Naruto replied as he thought of a plan to confirm their suspicions.

“Hey Granny Tsunade how long until we get back to the village, I’m sick of wearing this fucking collar.” Naruto complained rather convincingly as the entered the forest that hid Konoha.

“Well that confirms it; they aren’t Lady Tsunade or Lord Jiraiya.” Shizune said as she hung her head.

“Don’t worry Shizune we’ll play along and see what’s going on, and then we’ll deal with these imposters.” Naruto replied as he fingered his vambraces.

“Pick up the pace Shizune, we want to be in the Leaf Village by tonight.” Said the Tsunade imposter angrily as she looked over her shoulder and glared at the blonde who was watching his shuffling feet.

“But Lady Tsunade it will still take two days to get to the Hidden Leaf.” Shizune replied stunned by the imposters demand.

“I said I want to be back in the village tonight, so pick up the pace or get left behind.” The imposter said over her shoulder.

“These imposters aren’t even trying to act like the originals; they really must think we’re stupid.” Naruto whispered again fingering his vambraces, wanting nothing more than to unseal his new swords and cut these imposters down.

They walked throughout the day and well towards sun down passing a large village with a casino, a hotel and a bar just confirming to the two younger ninja’s theory that the Tsunade and Jiraiya in front of them were not the real ones.

“Well things haven’t changed since the last time I was here.” Shizune whispered to Naruto as they passed onto the main path to Konoha.

“At this pace it’ll be two hours before we reach the gate and our welcoming party.” Naruto whispered back.

“How many do you sense?” Shizune asked as she looked around and spot one of their tails.

“Five total, four of them are around us in the forest and the other one is waiting on the road in front of us.” Naruto replied nervously as he fingered the two seals on his vambraces.

“You’ve been fidgeting with those things all day, what’s so special about them?” Shizune asked curiously, looking down at his vambraces.

“Nothing just nervous is all.” Naruto responded defensively.

Standing in the middle of the road was an ANBU masked ninja that Naruto didn’t recognise. The ninja bowed before the imposters of Tsunade and Jiraiya.

“Lady Tsunade my team and I have been ordered to escort you back to the village.” The masked ninja spoke as he continued to bow before the fakes.

“Good take us immediately to the village and have your squad stand guard over that traitorous brat.” The fake Tsunade said as she pointed over her shoulder at the bound blonde.

“As you command Lady Tsunade.” The ninja spoke as he motioned for the rest of his squad to form up around Shizune and the blonde.

They marched through the southern gates of Konoha and were greeted by thousands of villagers and hundreds of ninja. At the head of the gathering were Danzō and the two elder councillors. Behind them and to either side were the Jōnin and civilian councils. Among the Jōnin council were Kakashi and Yūgao who were looking at the blonde and wondering about the worried look that passed between them as they whispered together.

“Well we now know what they have planned.” Naruto whispered to Shizune who nodded as she figured out what Naruto was talking about.

“Yes I believe you’re right.” She whispered back to the blonde.

“Don’t let anybody act until we find the real ones. Naruto whispered.

Among the ninjas that had gathered were Naruto’s lovers who like Kakashi and Yūgao knew about the plan were also worried at the look the blonde shared with the black haired woman he was whispering with.

Danzō and the two councillors stepped forward from the crowd small grins pressed upon their faces. “Lady Tsunade welcome back to the Hidden Leaf village.”

“Thank you, but first we have some crucial business to discuss.” The fake Tsunade spoke as the fake Jiraiya yanked on Naruto’s chain causing him to stumble forward and fall to his knees between the two fakes.

“First of I want you to lead us to our shinobi prison so this traitorous piece of demon trash can be punished for trying to assassinate me.” Tsunade said looking down at the glaring blonde.

Gasps rippled throughout the crowd of civilians and ninja as the civilians began shouting for Naruto’s execution and they were soon joined by some of the assembled ninjas.

Naruto glared at the crowd and looked at every ninja that was calling for his blood, among them were ninja’s from his academy days including Kiba and Sasuke, Sakura and Ino behind him followed his lead along with a few other Kunoichi from their year. He shook his head at Hinata and Haku who were in the middle of weaving signs, while Kakashi and Yūgao had been in the process of drawing a weapon.

Naruto was dragged behind the two fake Sannin who continued to yank on his chain every now and then pulling him off balance. They were followed by a crowd of civilians and shinobi all calling for his execution. Walking just in front of him and to his right was Shizune who kept looking around her angrily especially when the civilians began to throw missiles at the blonde. When one had inadvertently hit her she spun around and with a flick of her wrist threw a poison coated senbon at the foot of the civilian that had hit her. The look of terror on his face as the senbon pierced his foot was a sooting elixir to Shizune as she watched the missiles fall out of the hands of every civilian with similar looks of fear all of them knowing that if they threw something at Naruto and missed they would receive a worst fate.

They came upon the prison on the outskirts of the village. It was surrounded by a lake of lava and the only entrance/exit was a long earthen bridge that left a person open to attack from either end.

The poll for whether or not their will be a relationship (romantic), or a sex scene or not between Naruto and Tsunade is still open. So far there is a tie for a sex scene and a mother/son like relationship.
