Kakashi watched as Naruto was rendered unconscious, Iruka would be so mad if Kakashi allowed Naruto to die, and after that Naruto had gone through to try and protect Iruka, Kakashi finally understood, Iruka was more than just a dog to Naruto, Iruka was family, Iruka was something Naruto felt he had to protect, dogs are bred with the instinct to protect their home, their masters, but Naruto had put his life on the line to protect his dog, Kakashi had never seen such an act before, it made his heart swell, if there were humans like the blonde in the world, maybe the human race wasn’t so bad? Kakashi knew he only had one shot at this, with Hidan busy trying to catch Gaara, Kakashi knew, if he messed up, it meant the lives of everyone, Himself, Gaara, Iruka, Naruto, and the baby growing inside the blonde, Kakashi closed his eyes, and in a second he was gone.
Pain stared at the area Kakashi had just been, it was like the dog just vanished into thin air, Pain let Naruto go, he’d finish that bitch off later, he had no plan to kill him just yet, after all he wanted a feel of that sweet ass, Pain scanned the area, no signs of Kakashi, maybe the dog chickened out? Pain cried out feeling the back of his ankle bitten, the tendon there slashed from the dogs sharp teeth, pain fell forward onto his knee’s crying out, son of a bitch hurt! He was going to kill that fucking dog! He was going to gut Kakashi! Fuck fighting the damn creature; he would kill him with his bare hands! Pain cried out again feeling the weight of the dog on his back pinning him down, he groaned going to push him up, he stopped and tensed seeing the dogs teeth at the corner of his eye
“Hidan! Get him off!” no reply, Pain glared his body shaking, Kakashi was going to kill him, the dogs growl was deep and rumbled in the air, Pain’s eyes shot open, seeing black boots in front of him, Hidan sure did take his fucking time getting there
“Hidan, hurry and get this fucking bastard off me!” the person in front of him knelt down, Pain didn’t remember Hidan wearing black baggy jeans, or a black trench coat, looking up slowly Pain’s face drained of all colour, Itachi Uchiha knelt before him, Pain finally took in his surroundings, the police were already inside the starting to take evidence, Naruto was already being checked over by paramedics, Pain had been so caught up in finding Kakashi he never noticed Hidan had already been caught by the police
“Kidnaping, Sexual assault, Assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder… Sounds like you are going away for a long time Pain” Pain’s eyes narrowed at the silver dog on his back, Kakashi did have a plan for everything… Fucking dog

Naruto sat up on the stretcher, he felt like shit, the oxygen mask over his face was fucking useless, he could breathe just fine, it was just his damn throat that hurt, it made it hard to talk, Naruto was completely confused by the scene around him, police were tagging tags as evidence, Pain and Hidan were already in a squad car on their way to the police station, Itachi was organizing what dog was going where, Sakura was standing beside his stretcher, he was confused by everything, how had they found him? What had happened exactly? Naruto’s eyes went wide seeing the shorter brunette walking around the mad mass of people, when onyx met zircon, Naruto finally cracked, he began to cry wanting to jump off the bed and run towards his husband, Sasuke ran towards Naruto hugging the blonde, Naruto had refused to leave in the ambulance yet until Sasuke was there, he wanted to make sure Iruka got to the vets ok, and right now he didn’t trust anyone but Sasuke with his dog, Naruto began to cry harder when the brunette embraced him, Sasuke felt horrible seeing Naruto in such a state, it was obvious what had happened to the blonde, Sasuke felt he was partly to blame for all of this, Sasuke held Naruto allowing the blonde to cry into his chest, he felt angry with himself, if he’d stayed with Naruto that day, maybe none of this shit would have happened
“I… I don’t understand! W-what the hell happened?!” Naruto’s voice was raspy, he reached up placing his hand on his throat, he was so happy to be safe, but nothing made sense, no one knew where he was!
“Uh…. Well… You see… I can kind of explain…” Zircon and Onyx stared at the pink haired woman beside Naruto, Sakura seemed just as confused if not more so about the events that took place, but she seems to know an answer or two as to what was going on
“I was letting Gaara and Neji outside to use the b-bathroom… I noticed Kakashi h-hop the fence... As if it was nothing! Gaara ran t-to him… They just sat there staring at each other… Kakashi l-lead Gaara to the gate and popped the lock open! It was amazing! Then they ran… I was angry at Gaara for r-running off… Neji waited for me to follow… I followed them here… Neji sat outside whining at me… I called Itachi and told him Kakashi had leaded Gaara into this ware house… I gave him the directions… When I heard the gun shot I called the cops… They were in the area I guess… IT was so odd! It was like… Kakashi was leading me Gaara and Neji here… like he knew we could be of help…” Naruto stared at the muzzled silver dog, Kakashi hung his head his eyes staring at a line of ants in the ground, Kakashi was just a dog, exactly how smart could one dog be?... It was all a coincidence it had to be dogs did not plan, dogs did not plot, they were smart, but not that smart!

Naruto smiled softly petting Iruka, the brown dog sat happily at his master’s side, the small black haired toddler sleep in his mother’s arm sucking on his thumb softly, Naruto laughed softly at the boy
“He looks just like you Sasuke… Thumb in mouth and all” Sasuke looked at his lover in shock; he rolled his eyes playfully pushing Naruto away
“Are you ready? We promised Sakura and Lee we’d be over for dinner tonight, is Yuudai’s diaper bag ready? Do you have a spare change of clothes for him?” Naruto laughed standing up holding the sleeping toddler close, it had been over two years since the incident, and he’d finally accepted the fact that Kakashi was a brilliant dog, the silver was a super genius, that day the silver devil had died, Sasuke had filled out the paper work stating the silver fighting dog was put to death, Naruto smiled softly, Sasuke was a brilliant man, with the paper work of Kakashi being dead, no underground dog fighter would ever come looking for him, Kakashi could live out his life in peace, as a humble house pet.
Naruto walked towards the living room still holding the small toddler close, he walked to the side of the couch picking up the diaper bag, the small child wiggled free and crawled along the couch, on top of the silver dog, Kakashi just slept his back on the couch, Yuudai let out a joyous screamed before slapping the dog hard on the chest, Kakashi grunted and opened his eyes glaring at Naruto, the blonde held his hands up in defence, everyone had feared what Kakashi would be like around the new baby, but Naruto knew the dog would be fine, Kakashi was a natural parent, or teacher, he allowed the child to do as he pleased, and didn’t dare harm the child
“Sorry boy, he just loves you” Kakashi’s eyes drooped again, as if accepting that answer, Naruto watched as Yuudai laid upon the dog and closed his eyes, Iruka crawled on the couch beside the two and snuggled close to Kakashi his tail swaying slowly.
Naruto couldn’t imagine his life without his dogs, they saved his life, and they were his family
