Iruka was in the process of taking another deep breath of the cool air, willing to himself to calm down, when he felt it. What a hell of a mess he'd gotten himself into. If he could just manage to forget about Kakashi and Yamato, then he really thought things might be good with Raido. Entirely aside from what he'd just witnessed. And, he had to admit, he was considering.
Raido never been willing to actually commit to anything before, but then again, he'd never told him he loved him, either. So things were already different. But Iruka's thoughts were interrupted when he felt two very distinct chakra presences behind him. Two he'd never forget for the rest of his life. Two, meaning one of them was going out of his way to announce his presence. "Kakashi, Yamato." Iruka said, taking a sip of his drink. He'd lost count and knew he was already losing some of his inhibitions. Kakashi took a spot on his right and Yamato to the left. "Hello, Iruka. Enjoying the party?" Kakashi asked. Iruka glanced over at him. "Of…," he started automatically, then sighed. "I don't know," he said, going for honesty. "That's not good. You should at least be enjoying yourself. Is something wrong?" Yamato asked. Iruka turned to him, considering. He looked like he really did want to know. He frowned. "It's been a very confusing night. Hell, a confusing couple of days, if you want the truth." He turned to look up at the stars. "Raido?" Kakashi asked, quietly and Iruka nodded. "When did you get back together?" Iruka swallowed. "I guess last night. Though we haven't told anyone, I guess." He snorted. "Unless you count him doing his damnedest to make it look like he owns me here." Kakashi made a weird coughing sound that was obviously an attempt to cover a laugh. "Yeah, we noticed." "I take it you're not happy with that?" Yamato asked him, taking a sip of his drink. Iruka sighed. "I don't know, if you want the truth." He frowned. "Not really, not like that." He chuckled, drained his glass and sighed, shifting the conversation. "You know, if you'd asked me a couple of years ago if what I'd just seen in the living room back there disturbed me, I would have said yes. But…" "It didn't?" Kakashi asked. Iruka must be well on his way to drunk. "No, it didn't." "Yeah, I know what you mean." Yamato said and Iruka turned to look at him. "You too?" Iruka asked. Yamato didn't answer right away. He finished his own drink. "Yeah." He looked up and his gaze met Iruka's for a moment. They didn't say anything, just stared at each other. The tension could have been cut with a knife. "Well aren't you two just full of surprises," Kakashi said, thoughtfully, breaking the tension. "Although truthfully, I'm not very surprised about Yamato. He's almost worse than me as a hentai." Iruka laughed. "Really?" Yamato blushed. "Shut up." "There's nothing wrong with that, frankly." Iruka said, grinning at Yamato. "I have my own collection of Icha Icha novels, though those are tame compared to some stuff out there." "See? I'm not the only one who knows this." Kakashi said, chuckling. "Though I am a little surprised that the teacher's that way." Iruka raised an eyebrow. "Just because I like and teach kids doesn't mean I don't have adult tastes." "Very true." Kakashi chuckled. "So, are you going to accept my invitation, Iruka?" Iruka paused and considered him. There is no way he could go see them without Raido right now. And he knew there was no way he'd be able to go with him. If they didn't kill each other, it would be extremely uncomfortable, at the least. "At some point. I want to, but I…can't right now." He sighed, "things are still very uncertain between Raido and me." He paused. "I heard you're going back out again?" Kakashi stared at him. "Yes. we have two days here to rest a bit, reequip and get back on the road. We need to add to our team, too, though Tsunade-sama is a little hesitant, because there's some… internal problems right now." "Yeah, I've heard rumors." Iruka turned back to look at the stars. "Want to go on a mission, Iruka?" Kakashi asked, turning to the stars, too. "We need people we know we can trust." Kakashi turned to look directly at him. "Me?" Iruka blinked at him. "Do you remember the last time we were on a mission together?" Kakashi nodded. "Yes. That was a very long time ago. I'm willing to bet you're not the same person you were then." "Hell no, I'm not." Iruka sighed. "There have to be other people you can trust." "Not many, and no one like this." Kakashi said. Iruka stared at him a moment, open-mouthed. "And you trust me with it?" "How long have we known each other, Iruka?" Kakashi asked him. Iruka stared at the floor. "I don’t know… ten years? Something like that." "I'd say that's pretty close. And in those ten years, I've learned a lot about you. Let's just say that I know enough." "I have a class to teach, remember?" Iruka said. It had been a long time since he'd been on a serious mission. He couldn't lie to himself, it sounded good. Getting out, using his skills for something other than a demonstration. "You don’t have to decide right now. But if you're willing, I'd appreciate it if you could join us." Kakashi said. He opened his mouth to say more, then sighed. He looked at his watch. "Damn." Yamato held out his hand and Kakashi handed him some money. Iruka blinked at them. "What…?" He'd seem them follow. He didn't want to shove Gen away, but if he left them alone too long… he sighed. He knew how Iruka felt about them and he didn't want to give them a chance to sway him. Of course, if he clung too much, he was going to send him into their bed anyway. Fuck, what a mess. "Rai? You paying attention?" Genma poked him. Raido shook his head. "Sorry. What?" "I'm asking you to participate in the full collaring ceremony." Genma asked. "Did Iruka just disappear or something?" Raido actually blushed. "Sorry," he mumbled. "It's okay, man, where'd he go?" Genma looked around. "Um, just out for air." Raido said, frowning. "Okay…why is that a big deal?" His friend raised an eyebrow. Raido sighed. "If you tell him, I'll kill you." Genma blinked. "Of course not. What's up?" "He's… he loves me. I know this, okay? I've seen it, he's said it, but while we were split, he started to fall for someone else. And, they're pursuing him." "Well, shit. Who is it?" Gen asked. Raido cleared his throat. "Kakashi and Yamato." "WHAT?" Genma practically shouted. "Shut up!" "Sorry. Both of them? Shit, if I'd known that, I wouldn't have invited them. I'm sorry, man." Genma said and looked around for them. "Um, where are they?" "Out on the balcony with Iruka now." Raido said, staring at the glass door. "Then what the hell are you doing here?" His friend asked. "Well, see that's the tough part. If I go chasing after him right now, how long is he going to put up with shit like that? I've practically had a fucking leash and sign on him tonight as it is." "Oh. Yeah. And not in a good way, either, I guess." Genma frowned. "Well, what are you going to do?" "I've got to trust that he's not out there playing tonsil hockey with them." Raido said, sighing. "I don't want to lose him again, Gen." "You may not have a choice, man." Genma said and as pissed off that that made Raido, he appreciated the honesty. "But look, they've been out there a while, I think it's fair to go look for your boyfriend. But maybe this time you can avoid acting like a tom spraying his territory?" Raido had the grace to blush. "I was jealous." "I know. But it won't help. Really." He nodded. "Thanks, Gen," he said, then turned toward the door and took a deep breath. "What was that about?" Iruka asked them with an eyebrow raised. "You'll see." Yamato muttered and sure enough, Raido came out then. "You okay, Ruka?" he asked. Iruka tried not to sigh. He was surrounded. Kakashi and Yamato on each side and Raido in front of him. And all three of them making him crazy. He didn't want to touch Raido in front of them, but he didn't want to not touch him, either, for Raido's sake and maybe make him think he was embarrassed by him or something. Fuck! What a god-damned mother-fucking mess! All three of them took a half step back and he realized some of his emotion must have been showing on his face, again. He really wished he could hide it better than that. He closed his eyes and sent up a bid for patience and calm. He counted slowly and by the time he got to eight, he was a little better. "I'm fine, Rai," he said, deliberately using the nickname. He turned to Kakashi. "I think I can do that." Kakashi nodded. "Good. We leave on Monday, seven a.m. at the West gates." Iruka nodded. "That's fine. I'll talk to Tsunade tomorrow." "I've already spoken with her. She'll take care of the sub. She's the one that suggested I ask you." "Okay, then. Monday morning." He turned to Yamato. "I'll see you then." Yamato nodded. "Take care." He said, sending a pointed glance at Raido. Then he and Kakashi, after exchanging glances, poofed. Iruka turned to Raido. "I'm going on a mission as of Monday. I'll probably be gone for quite a while and yes, I'm going with them. I'll also be with Sakura, Naruto and Sai that you met tonight." Raido swallowed and frowned. "Okay." He didn't have to like it, but if what he heard was true and Tsunade suggested it, there was nothing he could do about it. And there was obviously a reason they'd chosen Iruka. He had to respect that. "Now, is Genma going to be pissed if we leave?" Iruka asked. Raido blinked at him. "Why?" "Because I want you to take me home and remind me again of what's so damned good between us. I need you, Rai." He finished quietly. Raido smiled and pulled Iruka into his arms, capturing his lips and kissing him slowly. When they broke apart he said, "Then we better go tell him we're going." But when they stepped into the living room, Iruka noticed that they'd brought the table back out. Anko was setting up for cards and Genma was nowhere to be seen for the moment. "Ah! Umino, sit. We need one more and someone that's not going to lose too quickly." "Um…" Iruka started, but Anko sent a pointed look his way. "I already lost most of my money last night." "That's okay. We're not betting money tonight, we're betting clothes." She said and her grin turned wicked. Iruka glanced up at Raido, who grinned. "We can wait a little while. I think I want to see this." The younger man sighed and sat on one side of the table. Raido settled in behind him and pulled Iruka against him. He glanced sideways at Kotetsu. "How'd she get you in on this?" Kotetsu glanced at Izumo. "It's his fault." Iruka's looked between the two for a moment and it clicked. Holy crap! Kotetsu was in love with his best friend. He smiled and leaned over to him. "Well, then, just make sure he does something with you when you're naked," he said in his ear. Kotetsu's eyes widened and he blushed. "He doesn't know, please don't say anything." "I won't. But I think you'd be surprised by what he'd say if you did." The older man glanced sideways at his friend. "You think so?" Iruka nodded. "I do." He left it at that and Kotetsu glanced over again, a thoughtful look on his face. "Want a drink?" Raido asked in his ear. "Yeah, I think I'll need another one to get through this. Especially when I lose." He chuckled. "Why does Anko like to play strip poker with a bunch of gay guys?" Raido shook his head. "I have no idea. Maybe we're no threat." "Or maybe she just likes to watch." Iruka shook his head. "Whiskey, please." Raido dropped a kiss on Iruka's cheek and got up. He just grabbed the whole bottle and brought it back, settling in against Iruka once more. He poured their drinks, then pulled Iruka's hair back and gave in to the urge to kiss his neck. "No fair. I'm going to lose quickly if you keep doing that," Iruka moaned. Raido chuckled. "Wouldn't want that, though I have to admit to looking forward to seeing you lose your shirt." "You just want everyone to see just how many marks you left on me," Iruka smirked. "Maybe." He laughed, then kissed him again. "Okay, yes." Iruka shook his head. He realized he was a lot more relaxed, especially around Raido, with the other two gone. He sighed and shoved the thoughts of them away. He'd have to deal with it soon enough, but he wanted to give the rest of the evening to Raido. He turned his attention back to the game as Anko started to deal. He managed to win the first hand. Kotetsu lost first, chucking a sock at Anko, who caught it in one hand and laughed. "Ewww, Hagane, you should have left those on!" Aoba made a face and pinched his nose shut, laughing. "Please. My feet are sexy!" Kotetsu laughed, putting his heel on the table and wiggling his toes. "Feet are not sexy," Aoba replied, "especially yours." "Ha, says you." Izumo said, then blushed. "What? Anko has a blood fetish, I can't like feet?" He raised his visible eyebrow. Anko laughed. "Blood's only one of mine, hon, feet are tame." She shuffled the deck and started dealing again. She tossed a kunai at Aoba, who dodged it, laughing, as it embedded into the wall behind him. "Leave the kid alone." "Kid?" Aoba asked. "He's older than you." Anko turned to Izumo. "Do you mind me calling you kid?" "Absolutely not. Nope. No way." Izumo said, turning his attention to the cards and everyone laughed. "He's just terrified of your whips." Aoba replied. "And you're not?" Iruka asked. He was going to lose this hand, he knew it. "Of course I am. Everyone is," the other man said. "I'm not crazy." "Now now, I only wield them when they're asked for. Or deserved." She snickered when the color drained from Aoba's face. Iruka did lose that one, but despite prompting from his lover, he tossed his sock at Anko instead of his shirt. "Aren't you the one always pushing me for patience?" He asked over his shoulder. Raido's only answer was an eye roll. But despite that, his other sock went in the next hand. He won the one after that, but by the fourth, he was forced to unbutton his shirt. "WOO! Take it off, Umino!" Izumo called and Iruka laughed. "You'll be next, Kamizuki. You can't last forever against her." Raido helped him out of his shirt and laid it on the couch next to them and Iruka blushed at the stares. "What?" "Damn, Namiashi, you did a number on him." Kotetsu's voice held a note of awe and Iruka's color darkened. "I'm just as bad." Raido said, proudly, wrapping his arms around Iruka again. The younger man shook his head. "Deal, Anko," he said and she chuckled, but did as he bid. He made it a few more hands with others losing their clothes quickly. Anju and Genma had chosen not to play, and were having a lot of fun with the others who sat out, laughing at everyone else who was quickly disrobing. Izumo was down to pants and shirt, Kotetsu tried to give up his bandage as a piece of clothing, but Anko took his pants instead, so he was sitting in boxers only, and Aoba had only his pair of underwear and a sock on. Anko, everyone noticed, had managed to only lose her jacket and skirt, so she still had her net bodysuit on, covering everything. "Aw, hell. I'm losing this one," Iruka muttered. "That's not so bad. You managed to outlast most of them." Raido said. "Yeah, but they're not sitting smack up against their lovers." He shifted uncomfortably. When he stood to take his pants off, he was going to be in big trouble. "Ohhh," Raido said, a laugh in his voice. "Well, if it's any comfort, you're not the only one losing your pants. Everyone lost except Anko." Sure enough, there was grumbling all around the table. Aoba tossed his last sock at Anko, Izumo wiggled out of his pants without standing, but Kotetsu stood up and, in typical Kotetsu fashion, made a big production out of shedding his boxers. It occurred to Iruka that the other man must have had plenty to drink. He was very obviously aroused and it didn't seem to bother him one bit. "Didn't anyone tell you it's not polite to point, Hagane?" Aoba asked. "Does it turn you on, Yamashiro?" Kotetsu laughed. "Hell no. That tiny thing?" The older man countered. Kotetsu just laughed harder. Iruka noticed that Izumo wasn't laughing, he was spending too much time trying not to look at his best friend's cock. Hi face was flushed and he shifted in his seat. None of that helped Iruka much. He downed his own glass of whiskey before standing to shed his pants. He, too, was very hard and though he'd adjusted himself, it was very obvious. But the alcohol did its job and he wasn't too embarrassed. Even so, he was grateful when he sat back down and away from the heated gazes of everyone else. One more hand and the key players would all be naked. Kotetsu was out. That left him, Izumo and Aoba with something to lose besides Anko, of course, and he had a feeling that would happen in the next hand. Then it would get really interesting. He glanced over his shoulder at Raido. "You know I've got one more hand I can lose, right?" "I am very well aware of how little you're wearing right now," he said quietly and moved just enough for Iruka to feel the older man's erection against his lower back. "But I've encouraged this and I'm not going to pull you now. We'll see what happens after this hand, hmm?" Iruka cleared his throat. "Okay." He turned his attention to the cards that were dealt. The mood at the table had shifted noticeably. Everyone was very quiet as they considered the hand in front of them. Anju, her friends and two of the ANBU nin slipped out and headed into the other room. The other two transported away at the same time that Genma leaned over to Raido. "We're going into the bedroom for our own quiet time. Feel free to stay, all of you."While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
