Chapter 15

CHAPTER 15

The next morning, Kakashi was walking down the street back to work and trying very hard to ignore the looks that everyone gave him, some people stopping in their tracks and staring, some even pointing, most whispering to each other but saying nothing to him directly. He knew that he should have expected such a reaction, but still, it made him feel odd. After all, this was the first time in his life when he walked Konoha’s streets, or any other public place, for that matter, with uncovered face.

After their shower the previous night, Naruto had taken his mask and said:

“I don’t want you to wear that anymore, Sensei. I like you much better without it.”

He had wanted to say no, to protest, but the calm, self-assured look on the Hokage’s face had been enough to deter him from such an action. That, and the promise of being claimed. It had never occurred to Kakashi before to begin an actual relationship with someone, of actually belonging to someone. While before Tenzo there had been several men who took on the role of a dom for him, no one had bothered to offer to become a permanent master. They had either been too intimidated by Kakashi’s reputation or simply hadn’t cared enough to want to do that. And naturally, he hadn’t dared to ask anyone about that, too convinced that no one would accept him.

And here was Naruto, his former student, his Hokage, fifteen years his juniour, son of the man Kakashi had loved like a father and whose trust he had betrayed, offering to take up that role. Well, he hadn’t actually offered yet… but he had hinted he might. The sheer idea made Kakashi feel almost elated and yet terrified at the prospect that it might not happen. After all, before he sent Kakashi home last night, the blonde hadn’t said anything further than the brief comment in the bathroom.

Still, deep in thought, the former jounin arrived at their office and quietly entered, seeing that Naruto wasn’t yet there. There was, however, a suspicious envelope lying on Kakashi’s desk bearing his name on top. Gingerly, he opened it and found a note from Naruto:

“Kakashi,

I have something to take care of today and I won’t be in the office. I have left you a little something in my desk’s top drawer – take it and bring it to my house tonight.

Naruto.”

He looked back in the envelope and found the small key at the bottom, then went to unlock the drawer. Inside there was…shoeshine? Out of all the things Kakashi had expected to find, that wasn’t it. At all. He took it, put it in his pocket then locked the drawer again, still feeling helplessly confused. What was Naruto up to?

The day went by painfully slow, with people appearing for set appointments and pausing to stare at Kakashi’s before inquiring about Naruto and receiving a shrug and the explanation that the Hokage was otherwise occupied. Kakashi helped them as well as he could, but most were too focused on staring at his face to complain about the Hokage’s absence.

Finally, the working hours were over and Kakashi almost ran out of the Tower, as much as that was possible for him, in a hurry to reach Naruto’s place as quickly as he could. When he knocked on his front door, no one answered him – apparently the Hokage wasn’t home yet. Unsure what to do now, he sat down on the wooden steps and waited. Soon, the snow that had been expected for weeks now began to fall – serenely floating snowflakes coating the ground and everything else in a thin white layer that gradually thickened and glittered under the bright street lights.

Kakashi was tired, physically and emotionally, and felt almost sleepy, lulled by the hypnotic sight of the falling snow when the Hokage finally arrived, walking up to him, the snow creaking underneath his booted feet.

He paused and stared at the sitting man, taking in the sight of him, then approached him. Kakashi got up from the steps and winced at the sting in his knee, then bowed.

“Hokage-sama.”

“You waited.” The blonde stated calmly.

“Yes, Sir. Of course.”

“Good.”

He moved to unlock his door and wait for Kakashi to follow him in. Once inside, Naruto made no move to take off his boots or go anywhere further, looking at Kakashi and waiting for something. The older man suddenly got the hint and kneeled again to take off the Hokage’s heavy winter boots, unlacing them and then pulling them off his feet one by one. Naruto’s hand went to his head again and ran his fingers over his hat-covered hair before tugging the garment off and tangling cold fingers in silver locks. Kakashi couldn’t resist the urge to sigh and lean into the touch, closing his eyes in delight. He knew that he wasn’t supposed to even think about receiving any sort of gentleness, but still… it felt so very good when Naruto did it. Perhaps enjoying one little touch couldn’t be so bad?

They stayed like that for a few more moments before the Hokage withdrew his hand and pointed to his shoes:

“Take these inside to clean them, will you? No need to stay here in the cold to do so.”

Obediently, he picked up the boots and followed Naruto to the small living room, then kneeled on the thick carpet as the younger man went to change his clothes and took Kakashi’s coat with him. When he came back, he sat down on his sofa and watched Kakashi work quietly, elegant hands running the cloth over the smooth leather over and over.

“So” he began “Any major catastrophes happening today while I was away?”

Kakashi smiled.

“Apart from Ayano-san losing her cat again? No, not really.”

“Mmm.” Naruto relaxed back on the pillows. “That woman never changes. I heard that she drove even Danzo crazy.”

The mental image of the elderly plump lady, dressed in gaudy clothes and covered in expensive, tasteless jewelry screaming at the old coot was enough to make them both chuckle.

“Perhaps we could have avoided the war, Sir.” Kakashi murmured. “A few more years of having to put up with her and he would have ran away screaming anyway.”

“Or killed her.” Muttered the blond and Kakashi’s smile froze for a moment, then he nodded.

“Or killed her.” He agreed. “We received a letter from the Tsuchikage. Iwa are ready to enter the negotiations for the confederation.”

The idea about uniting all five great shinobi nations in an alliance that fought under one flag but kept territorial independence wasn’t anything new, really. However, the latest war had finally opened everyone’s eyes, more or less, that there were more things uniting them than separating them – and Naruto, along with Gaara, had started working hard to convince the rest of the Kages that it was possible. Even the current Mizukage had agreed, despite the endless grumbling he engaged in before caving. Naruto thought it was more to maintain his reputation than for anything else. Only Iwa had remained, still bitter over the last war decades ago when it suffered a painful defeat. Still, the Tsuchikage was a practical woman, if a little too prideful – she saw the need for unification in the ruins of her own village.

“Good.” Naruto said. “It was high time.”

The next few minutes were spent in silence, each of them deep in though, until suddenly the younger man spoke.

“Tell me, Sensei, do you like doing that?”

Kakashi looked up.

“Doing what exactly, Sir?”

Naruto smiled and pointed at the boots.

“Serving me like that.” He got up and went to stand behind his kneeling figure.

“In a way that is not sexual.”

He laid his hands on Kakashi’s shoulders and gently began to rub.

“Do you like it?”

The older man looked down at his hands. He had been hard ever since Naruto ordered him to clean the boots.

“Yes, I do, Sir.” He murmured.

“Why?”

He shrugged, then began cleaning again.

“It doesn’t really matter how I serve you. It makes me…” he looked for the right word. “Useful. To you. To my village. I guess it’s just the way I am, Sir.”

Naruto kissed the back of his neck.

“I like the way you are, Sensei.”

His hands wrapped around him and found a nipple through his shirt, beginning to play with the delicate bud as he nibbled on his ear.

“I kept thinking about what I told you yesterday.”

Kakashi shivered and tried to answer coherently.

“About… keeping me?”

“Mhm. But you need to understand that if I do, I would expect you to move here. And live by my rules. Can you do that? Leave all your previous life behind.”

Kakashi paused, then turned around to look at the blond, mismatched eyes strangely calm despite the arousal coursing through him.

“You have become my life, Hokage-sama. I don’t see how that could possibly change, if you…” he looked down and bit his lip “if you find me worthy to make me yours.”

Naruto’s eyes darkened with lust and he caressed Kakashi’s cheek, then ran his fingers over the scarring around his eye.

“I am possessive, Kakashi. And I don’t share. Ever. With anyone. I expect you to follow my orders to the letter, without any protest or rebellion. Any such action would be severely punished. Do you understand?”

Kakashi nodded.

“Very well.”

Naruto got up.

“I will take a shower now. When you’re done with the shoes leave them in the corridor, then go to the bathroom. Wash and remove each and every hair from your body, except on your head. Then dry yourself, I don’t want any puddles around my house. Go back to the bedroom, kneel down, put your hands behind your back and press your forehead to the floor. You will wait for me like that.”

And with that, he was out of the room.
