Hinata smiled as she watched Yami reading through the Cloud proposal she had given him. They'd finished last week, but he wanted one more chance to really dig through the finalized report and make sure everything was good. Yami was a very good-looking man and although she was in no way ready to move forward with another man, but that didn't stop her appreciating his good looks. “Yami,” she called softly, “It's nearly noon. Time to make the presentation whether it's perfect or not.”
Deidara smiled at Hinata. “Of course, Miss Hyuuga.” He handed the presentation packet back to her smirking as she blushed. “As I expected, your initial report did not need me.”
She chuckled. “Didn't stop you from finding plenty we could improve though, did it?” She smiled at him when he shook his head. “I feel as though I've gotten to know you better these last few days. If it is okay with you, I'd like to invite you to our post presentation drinks with my father and Neji.”
Deidara bit back a frown and nodded. Although this infiltration mission hadn't been difficult, he was having issues with his growing attachment to the Hyuugas. None of them had been difficult or vicious, and in fact had been nothing but kind and accommodating, making him feel as if he was important to them all. “I would like that very much.”
Hinata smiled. Although she knew her father had provided her with some suspicions regarding the man, she wouldn't completely alienate him unless they proved true. There was something in his nature that just rang honest to her. “Alright then. Let's go do this presentation.”
****
The presentation had gone very well. Cloud Corporation realizing they were in a sticky situation agreed to the Hyuuga buyout. Their employees would retain their positions and the business would be improved. Really the only not coming out ahead was the owners and most senior management. The Hyuuga family would not leave a CEO in charge that had allowed the business to fall into rival hands.
Hinata smiled at her father as they sat in a booth next to the bar at the Shotgun Saloon. Although it wasn't their typical establishment, they frequented it because they wanted to avoid anywhere Madara's influence touched. Deidara sat next to Hinata across from Neji. “Are you certain you'd like me to be here? I appreciate it, but I'm happy to leave this a family event.”
Hiashi shook his head. “No need, Yami. You helped close this deal as much as any of us did. Hinata told me how you helped and how seriously you took the project.”
Neji smiled and put his hand on his uncle's shoulders. “Let me get the first round tonight.” He motioned the server and ordered a round of whiskey for the table.
Deidara frowned. He didn't typically drink as it made it too difficult to keep his stories straight, but in this case if he didn't he would arouse suspicions. Hinata smiled and put her hand on his before leaning in and whispering, “If you don't typically drink, you can nurse that one all night. If you make sure to help keep my father from noticing, I'll take your drinks with mine.”
Deidara chuckled and shook his head minutely. “What kind of a man would I be if I forced such a refined woman to cover for my typically non-alcoholic self?”
Hinata tilted her head to the side and winked. “Then let's see which of us ends up on the floor first. I don't typically drink all that much either.”
Neji smiled as he watched Hinata and Yami lean their heads together and whisper. He knew she wasn't ready for anything serious, but it seemed the man was able to make her smile again when only those in the family were able to do that until this point. The whiskey arrived at the table and Neji took his glass, raising it to the center of the table. “To a successful takeover and a marvelous assistant.”
Hiashi smiled. “Cheers.” The four of them clinked their glasses together, celebrating their recent success.

Deidara was on his fourth glass of whiskey. He swirled the amber liquid around in the glass, frowning as he listened to Neji and Hinata bickering fondly. He couldn't keep doing this, but he didn't have much of a choice. He wasn't exactly a stand up guy and if they knew who he was he would be going directly to jail. He couldn't quit either, because Madara would ensure the same.
Hiashi clasped Deidara's shoulder. “Yami, you look all too forlorn for a celebration. What's on your mind?”
He looked at Hinata again and sighed. “Just thinking that maybe I'm not the right fit here.”
Hiashi shook his head. “Don't say that.” He smiled softly as he watched his assistant's eyes slide to Hinata again. “She's going to need time, but I don't think I'd object if you wanted to ask my daughter out.”
Deidara's head snapped up as he looked at Hiashi. “What if I had some dark past you weren't aware of? What if I was some kind of trouble maker?”
Hiashi shrugged. “If you are, I'll find out soon enough and decide based on your transgression what the appropriate response is.”
Deidara groaned and dropped his head to his arms. “I don't think I'm made for alcohol.”
Hianta chuckled and patted his arm. “You don't have to keep drinking with us. Feel free to switch to water. It's the company that is important.”
Hiashi eyed Yami carefully. The man did appear to actually be intoxicated fairly severely, but it was his reaction to the dark past question the man had posed that had him pondering the man before him. Most people wouldn't bring up a dark past without prompting and it was certain that Yami had this past. He hadn't gotten the report from Kakashi's FBI contact, but Yami's name was on the list with the rest of the recent hires. “Hinata, Neji, can you go get us another round. I'd like a word with Yami.”
Once his child and nephew were gone he glanced back to the man across from him. “Is there anything you would like to tell me?”
Deidara frowned, but shook his head. “There's nothing, Hyuuga-sama.”
Hiashi looked at him again, but nodded. “I hope for your sake you are telling me the truth.” He smiled as the other two returned with new drinks. “Please excuse me a moment.”
He stood from the table and walked around the corner before pulling out his phone to text Kakashi. Yami Nasaro – suspect #1
He returned back to the table and sat back down, rejoining the conversation. He watched as Hinata managed to get Yami's mood to move back to something positive. He was so proud of his daughter and he hoped that Yami would prove him wrong. “We do all have to be at work tomorrow, so I think it best to call this the end of our rounds.”
*******
Kakashi frowned as he saw the text from Hiashi. He'd talked to the man quite a few times about his new assistant and he knew the man really thought he was trustworthy. Something must have happened to convince him otherwise.
He called over to Sai's office. “What?” Hidan asked.
Kakashi chuckled. “Hello to you too, Hidan.” He sighed. “I have a number suspect for the Hyuuga mole. Can you or Sai please focus on Yami Nasaro?”
Hidan snorted. “You're late old man, I have the report for you all ready.” He flipped the report open and started scanning names. “Nasaro you said?”
Kakashi nodded as he replied, “Yes, Yami Nasaro. He was one of the most recent hires.”
“There isn't much to give you on the man. He seems on the up and up, but he's almost too clean.” He shrugged and closed the file. “I'll drop what I have in your box, but I'm almost more suspicious because his profile seems too normal. Most people have something somewhere that is wrong or off.”
Kakashi nodded. “Thanks, Hidan.” He frowned. “Is there anyone else that seems like they may be a suspect?”
Hidan leaned back in his seat kicking his feet up on his desk. “There's a mail clerk that was hired about two months ago – Kagura Nauto. He's got small time embezzlement charges.” He shuffled a few pages. “And there's an admin transfer from an American company, Annabelle Jordan. Suspicious just for the location change.”
Kakashi huffed. “Alright, drop it all off for me and I'll take a look through the intel and especially on those two.”
After he hung up the phone from Hidan, he texted Hiashi. Come over tomorrow, 4:30.
“Kakashi!” Naruto hollered as he came through the door. “I'm going to a movie with Itachi tonight. Do you need me to grab anything while we're out?”
Kakashi chuckled, “Nah, but can you make sure you have an Iruka day soon? He's missing you.”
Naruto smiled and wrapped his arm around Kakashi's shoulders. “I will. Thanks, 'Kashi.” He smiled as Itachi opened the door. “We'll be back in a couple hours. Don't do anything too naughty.”
