Chapter 15: Entrapment

Somewhere in the Land of Fire

Naruto was standing high atop of Tanzuka Castle overlooking the large town that was Tanzuka Town. It was here that one of his clones had run head long into the very woman he was searching for. Now he was standing on this high vantage point while scores of his clones were searching the town. It wouldn't be long he told himself as he watched the sun sink towards the western horizon.

‘Might as well go find a place to stay, my clones are doing all the work.’ Naruto thought as he slalomed down the castle from roof to roof before running down the castle wall. Naruto walked through the town as he looked for a decent hotel to stay in.

Naruto walked down one street after another looking for a decent hotel, except every hotel was expensive and exceedingly loud thanks to all the gambling machines running.

“For fuck sake can’t I find at least one decent hotel in this shit town that isn’t some stinking gambling house full of people I wanna kill?” Naruto seethed as he walked headlong into someone knocking them over.

“Sorry about that I wasn’t paying attention.” Naruto said cutting off his vicious words when he saw that he had walked into a beautiful black haired woman. Her hair was cut short to shoulder length. He helped her to her feet as she dusted herself off.

“You don’t know of any decent hotels around here do you?” Naruto asked as he picked up her bag and passed it to her.

“Yeah there is one two streets over from here that also has an excellent restaurant next to it.” The woman said as she took her bag from the blonde teen and pointed to her right his left.

“Uh thanks sorry again.” Naruto said as walked past her and walked to the end of the street before turning left.

He walked into the hotel and booked a room for three days with a possibility of adding a further week to the booking. He walked up to his room and dumped his bag on the bed and unsealed the rest of his ninja gear.

“I’ve been in this town less than six hours and I already want to slaughter everyone here.” Naruto muttered as he checked out the bathroom.

‘I’ll guess I’ll wait till tomorrow before continuing looking for Tsunade.’ Naruto thought as he turned on the shower.

Naruto was walking through the town in his complete Genin gear, his clones still scattered throughout the town searching for Tsunade. His enhanced hearing heard the explosion as his eye watched as the giant snake smashed through the castle he had used as a vantage point the day before.

“Orochimaru.” Naruto growled as he bolted straight for the giant snake. Naruto watched it burst into a cloud of smoke.

Landing on a wall across from the rubble of the castle Naruto watched the Snake Sannin and a person he recognized as Kabuto talking with the woman he had bumped into yesterday and another woman. He quickly grabbed the picture of Tsunade and looked from the picture to the other woman. She was a bit older than the woman in the picture but it was obvious it was the same person.

“Tr….” ‘Wait what’s this chakra.’ He thought looking to the left where a white-haired man was walking towards the two groups.

‘What’s going on here is he a part of this, was he working with that asshole Orochimaru?’ Naruto thought as he watched the guy walk up to the group.

‘It’s true she’s a traitor.” Naruto thought as he leapt off of the wall and raced straight for the five people before him.

“Orochimaru you Murderer I’m going to kill you.” Naruto yelled as he leaped high into the air and dived down upon the Snake Sannin who sidestepped Naruto’s kick. As Naruto landed he spun on his right foot and with his left kicked Kabuto in the side of the head sending him flying backwards to smash through the stone wall.

“And I’ll take you down too Traitors.” Naruto snarled as he made the cross seal and ten clones of Naruto stepped out of ten smoke clouds. Each Naruto drew their katana and rushed at the closest person.

Naruto went straight for Tsunade straight for his target. He attacked with a series of strikes, forehand, backhand, uppercut, overhand, backhand, reverse sweep. Tsunade dodged all the slashes before stomping on the blade during the reverse sweep, yanking it from Naruto’s grasp. Which was what Naruto was waiting for with a flip he heel kicked Tsunade in the face sending her stumbling backwards, leaving Naruto’s sword on the ground.

“Lady Tsunade!” the black haired woman cried out as she pulled up her sleeve reveling a set of senbon shooting slingshots strapped to her arm.

Naruto dived for his sword picking it up just as the black-haired female let loose her attack. Naruto parried and dodged the ten senbon needles, deflecting the last one at the still recovering Kabuto.

Kabuto dodged the senbon only to see a pair of shuriken thrown by Naruto coming straight for his head. Kabuto raised his hand in front of his face protecting his head. One of the shuriken bounced off of the metal plate on the back of his gloved hand. The other shuriken pierced through his wrist keeping him out of the fight as he yanked the shuriken out of his wrist and quickly began trying to heal it.

Naruto spun back around to face the black haired woman who was already moving to attack him. He raced to the side throwing a handful of shuriken at her causing her to stop and parry his attack. As the last shuriken fell to the ground the woman was instantly weaving signs as she sucked in a huge lungful of air.

‘This isn’t good.’ Naruto thought as the woman blew out a cloud of poisonous mist. Instantly Naruto was in a three tailed Stage One Chakra Cloak before he leapt over the cloud of mist landing beside the preoccupied woman. He back handed her in the temple sending her flying through the air to crash into a pile of rubble her head striking an exposed rock, knocking her out as blood trickled down her face.

Just as Naruto turned to face Tsunade a fist caught him in the side of the head and sent him spinning away to crash through a wall of rubble. Shakily rising to his feet Naruto looked around for who hit him, his eyes falling on the white haired man who was looking at the Naruto curiously.

“Blood, blood.” Naruto spun to face Tsunade who was muttering the word over and over again as she stared horrified at the bloody Kabuto and bleeding Shizune.

‘What the hell going on? How could someone working with Orochimaru be afraid of blood?’ Naruto thought as he looked between the Legendary Sannin, the pale and bleeding Kunoichi and the bloody servant of Orochimaru.

“Well we were right this was a trap, the elders wanted us to kill the future Hokage so Danzō would be elected or die trying.” Kurama said as Naruto sighed in defeat.

“If you won’t cure me Tsunade, I guess I’ll just put you out of your misery.” Orochimaru said as he dispelled two of Naruto’s clones with two kicks. He launched himself at Tsunade readying himself to kill his former teammate.

Naruto upped his chakra cloak from three to five tails before he threw himself at Orochimaru. Naruto tackled Orochimaru out of the air as they crashed into the grass ripping it away leaving only dry brown dirt. Naruto landed atop of the Snake Sannin and pinned him to the ground as he began to rain down punch after punch on the face of the man who murdered the Hokage and had planned on killing the next Hokage.

Out of nowhere Naruto was slugged in the side of the head again and sent tumbling sideways as Kabuto leaned down to help his master get back to his feet.

“You’re going to die here murderer, for the Hokage, for Hayate sensei.” Naruto growled as he summoned ten more clones to fight. Naruto and his clones attacked the two, effectively separating them from each other as Naruto and two of his clones fought against Orochimaru the other eight fought against Kabuto.

“Tsunade are you ok? Tsunade snap out of it.” Jiraiya the white haired man shouted as he kneeled in front of the blonde woman snapping his fingers in front of her face.

“Tsunade snap out of it.” Jiraiya shouted shaking the blonde woman out of her stupor.

“Jiraiya what’s going on why is this boy fighting us, how is he going toe-to-toe… oh never mind he’s a Jinchūriki.” Tsunade said as she watched Naruto beating down on Orochimaru’s face once again.

“They boy has skill, maybe even better than his father was.” Jiraiya said as they watched the blonde boy taking it to a Legendary Sannin.

“What’s he doing here? And why did he call me a traitor? Are you all right Shizune?” Tsunade asked as Shizune hobbled over to her mistress and teacher.

“I’m fine Lady Tsunade, what’s going on here?”

“I was just asking Jiraiya here that very same question.” Tsunade said as she looked at the white haired man expectantly.

“Well I wanted to tell you this later when we aren’t fighting but since that option isn’t available right now. So the village has decided to name you as the Fifth Hokage. This has upset a few people who wanted someone else to be Hokage they manipulated young Naruto over there that you were a traitor and in league with Orochimaru and his assault on the Leaf Village, which resulted in the death of thirty two shinobi and the Third Hokage.” Jiraiya explained as they watched Orochimaru kick Naruto in the face and send him flying backwards.

Together Orochimaru and Kabuto eliminated all of Naruto’s clones which allowed Kabuto to use a summoning seal on Orochimaru’s left arm.

“Ah geez, that one is even uglier than the last snake you summoned and that one had three heads.” Naruto jeered insulting not just Orochimaru but also the giant summoned snake.

“Insolent little brat.” Orochimaru hissed angrily as he jumped on top of the snake’s head and directed it towards Tsunade and Jiraiya.

“Oh no you don’t I’m taking you and that traitor back to the village, where I’ll happily watch your murderous head get chopped off.” Naruto chirped as he jumped in the path of the giant snake.

“Her, a traitor don’t make me laugh boy. Let me guess she has been selected as the new Hokage and somebody sent you here to assassinate her? How deliciously ironic this is.” Orochimaru cackled as he threw back his head laughing.

“Well that confirms it we walked straight into a trap and are totally fucked up shit creek without a paddle.” Kurama laughed in Naruto’s head using a foreign quote he had never heard before.

“Ah I see it on your face, you suspected as much, yet still you took the mission. How unlucky you are Jinchūriki.” Orochimaru chuckled as the snake he was standing on reared back ready to strike.

A burst of smoke covered the battlefield obscuring everything from sight. As the smoke cleared shadows began to form in the smoke and take shape. As the smoke thinned the shapes began to gain mass and were eventually revealed to be a large orange toad and a giant white and blue slug. Standing atop the giant toad was the white haired man, who Naruto remembered from academy lessons as Jiraiya. Atop of the giant slug was Tsunade. ‘No wonder she’s called the Slug Queen.’ Naruto thought as he looked up at the three-way standoff.

‘They aren’t going to ignore me. I’m so getting in on this.’ Naruto thought as he asked his fox tenant, “How about it Kurama you wanna go Seven Tailed State Two?”

“Sure let’s show them how weak they are compared to us.” Kurama replied as Naruto’s body began to undergo changes.

Naruto’s body began to be encased in dense red chakra. With his body fully encased in the dense dark red chakra his body began to grow to about seven feet tall. After his growth spurt two extra tails erupted from his waist. Bone like armor began to form around his head, down his spine to form around his waist, his chest, down his arms and to form bone razor-like claws around his chakra claws.

The cloaked Naruto roared as he launched himself at the giant purple snake slashing at the snake’s head with his chakra enhanced bone claws. Naruto’s right claw connected with the snake’s face clawing away flesh and scales leaving deep claw marks on the snake’s head.

Naruto dodged the tail swipe of the giant snake and quickly back flipped over the vicious bite of the striking snake, his seven tails smashing into the side of the snake’s head. Landing in a roll Naruto weaved in and out of the stationary toad and slug as he prepared for his next attack on the bleeding snake.

As Naruto ran out from behind the giant toad he was sent flying from the snake’s tail strike that struck him squarely in the chest. Naruto crashed through three walls as he tumbled backwards.

‘Ouch that snake is tough.’ Naruto thought as he rolled himself into a seated position and watched the snake attack the white and blue slug. Just as the snake struck the slug it burst into a multitude of miniature copies of itself. The snake bit down on nothing but air and was pinned as the toad’s sword pierced down through the head of the snake, just missing Orochimaru.

The snake burst into smoke and the ground beneath the toad erupted as the snake struck from below knocking the toad backwards as it sprawled out on its back trying to get back to its feet.

Behind the snake the slug had reformed and spat forth a spray of acid towards the distracted snake. The snake smashed its tail into the soft ground. A plume of dirt blasting into the air to block the acidic spray.

“That snake is very good, any suggestions Kurama?” Naruto asked the fox who was right now infused with his body and whose chakra was currently dominant.

“We need to strike when the snake is busy dealing with those two.” Kurama replied as the toad regained his feet and slashed at the snake with his sword. The snake swayed back, the sword slashing in front of its face as it used it tail to try and sweep the legs out from under the toad. The toad jumped up and back away from the coiling snake.

Naruto charged under the jumping toad that was distracting the snake by firing of a volley of water bullets. The snake used his tail to block each and every one of the water bullets. “You will have to do better than that toad.” The snake sneered in hatred.

“Oh we are Manda, look down you dumb snake.” The giant toad named Gamabunta called out.

Manda looked down just in time to see Naruto’s chakra enhanced bone claws coming straight for him. It was too late to duck or to try and dodge as Naruto’s right claw tore through Manda’s left eye ripping it out and adding another three scratches to the summoned snake’s face.

“Ouch that’s just vicious.” Jiraiya said as he watched the Jinchūriki take it to Manda.

Naruto twisted into a heel kick on Manda’s nose rocking the snake’s head back. Naruto landed on the soft grass below and quickly bolted for the belly of the snake. Using the chakra control techniques similar to running up a tree, Naruto ran up Manda’s stomach with his chakra enhanced bone claws digging into the snake’s soft belly flesh.

Manda threw his head back and howled in pain as Naruto continued to run up to the bottom of his head and cross slashed at Manda’s throat leaving a bloody X on Manda’s throat. Naruto jumped back as the snake reared back and struck at him. From Manda’s blindside Gamabunta struck with his sword planting it through his head.

“Gotta this time you slippery snake.” Gamabunta grunted as he puffed a cloud of smoke at the snake’s face. From atop Manda’s head Orochimaru and Kabuto fell off crashing to the ground. As they struggled to stand Naruto flashed in front of them and using his tails swatted them both away. Manda and the other two summons disappeared in three bursts of smoke.

“If you won’t heal Lord Orochimaru then you are dead Tsunade.” Kabuto called drawing a wickedly curved dagger from a hidden scabbard on his waist. He charged at the stupefied woman as his bloody visage triggered her hemophobia (Fear of Blood) paralyzing her to the spot.

‘Hopefully I don’t come to regret this but she’ll be important in turning this trap around.’ Naruto back in a Stage One cloak thought as he flashed in front of the frozen Tsunade. Kabuto’s dagger pierced through Naruto’s open left hand as he grabbed Kabuto’s hand crushing it in his vice-like grip. Naruto’s blood splattered onto Tsunade’s face snapping her out of her stunned state.

“What are you doing? Tsunade cried out as Naruto took the attack and stood before her with blood running down his arm.

“Protecting the Hokage.” Naruto replied as his chakra claw-like right hand slashed through the chest of the retreating Kabuto.

Kabuto staggered backwards towards Orochimaru as his chest bled out. “You won this time Tsunade, Jiraiya. Come on Kabuto let’s go.” Hissed Orochimaru said turning away and disappearing in a swirl of smoke, Kabuto not far behind.

“Now that’s done…” Naruto didn’t hear anything more as a chakra suppression tag was slapped on his face.

Naruto woke up to find himself chained to a wall in a sitting position. Sitting across from him was Tsunade, Jiraiya and the black haired woman, who he remembered was named Shizune.

“So what happens now?” Naruto rasped past his dry throat and lips.

“First you answer some questions and depending on that you either die or come back to the village in chains.” Jiraiya lied to the blonde sitting before him.

“Don’t lie to me old man.” Naruto growled back his eyes narrowing at Jiraiya.

“So you can sense lies, well I owe Kakashi the first copy of my new book.” Jiraiya grinned while Tsunade just rolled her eyes and bonked him on the head.

“Shut up you old pervert and let’s get down to business.” Tsunade muttered returning to a seated position.

“And what business would that be?” Naruto interrupted the two Sannin.

“What was your mission here?” Tsunade asked getting straight to the point.

“To confirm whether or not you were in league with Orochimaru and his attack on the Hidden Leaf Village, if so then I was to kill/capture. Those pictures over there were used as evidence to get the mission assigned to an “expendable asset”. Naruto replied nodding his head to the pile of photos.

“How did you get these surely the elders wouldn’t allow you to keep these?” Jiraiya asked picking up the photos.

“He took them.” Naruto grinned as a yip came from behind them. They all turned to see a little fox with nine-tails sitting behind them.

“Is that what I think it is?” Shizune asked as the color drained from her face.

“Well that depends if you think it’s the Nine-Tails Fox you would be slightly wrong, if you thought it was just a miniature clone of the nine-tails then you would be right.” Naruto joked as the fox yipped and twirled around flicking his nine tails. “I wouldn’t do that he bites!” Naruto joked as Shizune went to touch the little fox.

“So you have bonded to the fox.” Jiraiya mused with his hand on his chin. As Jiraiya spoke the little clone fox was growling at him.

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” Naruto growled at the white haired sage. “He’s done more for me than everybody in that stinking village put together.” Naruto snarled his voice getting louder and louder. “If it wasn’t for him I would be dead. Three fucking times he’s kept me from dying.” Naruto shouted, oh how he wanted to hit Jiraiya.

“So why would someone have me assassinated?” Tsunade interjected giving Naruto a chance to calm down.

“Probably to remove you from being Hokage, considering idiot there supports you for becoming Hokage that leaves only the other candidate Danzō.” Naruto spat the name wishing he could get his hands on that one’s throat.

“Is he still fucking scheming, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the one in league with Orochimaru.” Tsunade sighed in resignation.

“What makes you think that?” Naruto asked his head turned to the side as he tried to follow Tsunade’s line of thinking.

“Ah you probably don’t know this but Danzō and the Third Hokage were always rivals from their academy days to when they were Jōnin. They both served under my grandfather the First Hokage, then my great uncle the Second Hokage, they were both up for selection as the Third Hokage, and Orochimaru student of the Third like Jiraiya and I was up for selection as the Fourth Hokage against…”

“My dad.” Naruto interrupted the female Sannin.

“Yes Minato was my student a once in a generation genius.” Jiraiya said hiding his surprise that Naruto knew who his father was.

“You’re telling me that Danzō has been putting the village in danger so he could be Hokage?” Naruto asked skeptically.

“Yes Naruto that is exactly what they’re saying, don’t be surprised tyrants, shinobi, the Power-Hungry have been doing this for millennia. Hell didn’t he not two months ago kidnap you to get to me.” Kurama replied in his head.

“So Danzō wants me dead so that he will be declared Hokage, not surprising he sent a Genin. Considering this type of mission is better suited to a squad of ANBU operatives.” Tsunade said snapping Naruto back to the present.

“I answered your questions what now?” Naruto replied readying himself for action.

“You knew you were walking into a trap didn’t you Naruto?” Shizune asked turning away from the miniature fox.

“Yes I suspected a trap when they tore up the mission contract.” Naruto replied before continuing, “Once I suspected that this was a trap, I decided to follow a plan of my own and flip the table thus the pictures.” Naruto said as he watched Tsunade think.

“Lady Tsunade what are you thinking about?” Shizune asked as a wicked grin graced Tsunade’s face.

“A plan, a perfect plan of a trap within a trap within another trap the perfect entrapment strategy don’t you think Naruto.” Tsunade grinned as she waved Jiraiya to place a privacy seal on the room. With that done she began to explain her plan to the others.

“Lady Tsunade do you think this will work, do you really think he will take the bait?” Shizune asked for the umpteenth time since Tsunade had laid out her plan and Naruto had agreed to it.

“Shizune it will be fine, he can’t resist the temptation of getting his hands on Kurama and if he believes that Kurama and I are powerless he will jump at the chance to grab us again.” Naruto replied as he placed a little scroll around the throat of the mini Nine-Tails fox. “Alright take that to Hinata, Haku or Yūgao sensei they’ll know what to do.” With that the fox raced out of Tanzuka Town, going over the walls so that nobody paid any attention to a little single tailed red fox running off with scavenged food.

“Good by the time we get back to Konoha those loyal to me will be in on the plan.” Naruto said standing up and turning to face the others.

“Nervous Naruto?” Tsunade asked as Naruto turned to face her.

Naruto nodded in reply. “Yeah a little especially if they don’t fall for the plan and call for my execution.” Naruto replied.

“Don’t worry as the next Hokage it will be my orders they follow.” Tsunade said trying to reassure him.

“Let’s hope so, shall we get started. Let’s not waste time here.” Naruto said as he turned to Shizune who put an iron collar around his neck which was attached to a chain that was held by Jiraiya. Shizune then lightly bound his arms behind his back so he wasn’t in any discomfort.

“Naruto remember you will have to wear that collar for the next four days that it’ll take us to get to Konoha.” Tsunade reiterated to the blonde teen as Shizune packed away his scroll of stowed gear.

“Yes I remember it was my idea to use the collar in case they had someone watching the village.” Naruto replied rolling his eyes and getting a little slap on the back of the head from a grinning Tsunade.

“Hey what was that for?” Naruto said in shock.

“What your my prisoner and I’m gonna have your ass beaten so you actually look like what that genjutsu on that collar is displaying.” Tsunade said laughing at Naruto’s look of shock.

“Huh you really will make a good Hokage.” Naruto muttered as he admired her wicked humor.

“Ok let’s go I wanna see those fucking idiots’ faces when we haul you into the village in chains.” Tsunade grinned as she exited the room with Shizune following behind her and Naruto walking in front of Jiraiya.

“You really don’t like them?” Naruto asked as he carefully walked down the stairs.

“I fucking hate them, always have, always will.” Tsunade snarled as she walked up to the front counter and returned the keys to their two rooms.

They left Tanzuka Town from the North Gate and headed for Konoha. To the west they were watched by a pair of shinobi in Leaf ANBU masks. One had orange hair tied up in a ponytail while the other had short black hair and black goggles that covered his eyes.

“Come on we better report this to Lord Danzō.” The ponytailed ANBU whispered to his comrade before they both vanished in a swirl of leaves.

A/N: Another chapter done and up i hope you enjoyed the new chapter now that we're getting to the the end of this arc (3-5 chapters left) before moving on to arc 2. Again any advice, feedback or comments are welcome.

Just a heads up Hinata won't be the first person pregnant with Naruto's child.

Last bit of business i'm debating with myself whether or not i want a sex scene between Naruto and Tsunade (using her younger visage) or have Tsunade have a relationship with Jiraiya or both so let me know in the reviews if you want to see one or another of these three options ok. cheers
