Chapter 15 “You’re Too Close”
“Beep, Beep, Beep!”
“No five more minutes!”
“That’s not going to happen, Dobe. Get up visiting hours start in a half an hour.” The raven smirked at the tuff of blond hair that was trying to bury itself further into the blankets.
“Shit!” Tossing the covers off Naruto jumped out of bed and ran into the shower. “Why didn’t you wake me up sooner, Teme!”

“I did and so did the alarm if you didn't keep hitting the snooze button. So I let you have your sleep. And being the nice boyfriend that I am I made you coffee.” Sasuke said loudly as to be heard over the shower. The water was quickly turned off and a towel clad teen took the offer mug from the Uchiha’s hand and place a sweet kiss on his pale lips.
“Yes you are a nicest sweetest boyfriend for getting me coffee, but you’re still a Teme.” Naruto smiled before taking a big gulp of the black liquid gold. “Now go stop Genma from chugging down the entire pot while I finish getting ready and we can go.”
“What, Genma-sensei isn’t…”
“I’m not chugging anything Uzumaki! I’m just taking a healthy drink or two.” A voice yelled out from the kitchen.
“Where the hell did he come from?”
“Go deal with him I have to get dress.” And the raven was pushed out of the bedroom.
“I’m sorry Sasuke-kun, he use Iruka’s key to get in.” an apologetic Radio bowed.
“It’s okay sensei I don’t blame you.” Sasuke snatched the key from the coffee bandit. “This key is only for emergencies.”
“It was an Emergency! We have no coffee in our apartment!” the drama teacher cried.
“That is not an emergency.” the teen snarled as he washed the now empty pot of coffee. “How the hell do you drink almost an entire pot of coffee in less than five minuets?”
“It’s a gift.” Genma smirked.
“It bloody annoying is what it is Sensei.” the blond teen snapped as he exited the bed room. “Are we all set to go to the Hospital?”
“Yes, Anko came to the apartment dragging Kakashi half naked out the door. He didn’t have shoes on or a coat. His dogs chased after them and piled in to Anko’s car. So we’re taking Iruka and Kakashi both some fresh clothes.” The Scared teacher explain holding up a bag filled with clothes.
“I swear Anko-sensei is a few bricks short of a load. Let’s go and make sure Kakashi sensei isn’t arrested for indecent exposure and hopefully that pack of mutts, of his haven’t destroyed Shikamaru’s Hospital.” Naruto sighed. He went to grab his jacket and noticed it was missing. There on the hook where his jacket should be was a black and orange leather jacket with the Uchiha symbol on the back. “Where did this come from?”
“(Cough*) uh, Shisui sent it over. He noticed your old one was thin and torn. It’s his new designer winter wear. It’s a insulated leather jacket and gloves able to withstand temperatures down to fifty below zero. Yet it’s light and thin enough to allow free movement.” Sasuke replied quickly as he put on his own leather jacket sporting the same Uchiha fan.
“It’s very nice Teme but I can’t accept it. It’s not like I can buy it from him either; this is expensive and I can’t afford it.”
“Dobe, it’s a gift because my cousin considers you family now that were dating. Also he thinks you look great modeling his line. So he’s probably going to give you clothes just so you can advertise his work. Don’t worry about it; beside I sort threw out you old one.” More like set it on fire watching as it turned to ash before throwing it in the trash. Now that Orange and blue eye sore was gone for good. The down side of his Uchiha genetics they all had a bit of a pyromaniac in their DNA.
“Sasuke! I had that jacket since I started Konoha; there was nothing wrong with it.” The blond continued to rant as the Uchiha helped him into the new coat. “And why is there an Uchiha Fan on the back?”
“He probably did it out of habit. (*cough*) He makes clothes for the entire clan. Let’s go Iruka-sensei is waiting.” That said the blond was whisked out the door and into the car without another word on the subject.

This case was slowly driving him mad. There were no clues other than what was taken at the scene. There were hardly any witnesses due to the early hour that the hit and run happened. There was just one dead end after another; he was ready to pull his hair in frustration. Fadre wondered if that was how his captain became bald himself. All the unsolved or dead ends caused the captain to yank his hair out till there was nothing left.
“Hey Hansom you look like you're working half way to an ulcer.”
“What are you doing here, Hozuki?”
“Oh, don’t be like that Hansom. I even brought you a present.” The Pale man pouted as he sat on the corner of the messy desk.
“Really and what would that be?”
“I finished my own little examination of the car and the crime scene. I have confirmed my theory that Mizuki had been stalking Iruka-sensei. I also found evidence that he was at the hospital two days ago but never admitted.”
“What?! How is that possible? We had the place almost on lock down until Umino-san was out of surgery.” The Green eyed detective snapped. This case seemed to come to a standstill and now this Bounty Hunter just waltzed in with leads falling from his fine ass. ‘No don’t think that! It doesn’t matter if he’s good looking you have a case to work with the cocky bastard.’
“Here is the video footage from the Hospital. You can see him limp in, just on the edge of the Camera’s view. Also the when he changed clothes for Orderly scrubs. It gave him access to the medical supplies he needed to stitch up his leg and meds to dull the pain. Also you see him leaving yesterday evening after you assigned a uniform to watch the sensei’s door. That doesn’t mean he won’t try and return if he hasn’t already. He knows he can get in and out undetected. See, I’m more than just a pretty face, I can be a great help to you.” Suigetsu gave Fadre a seductive smile as he ran a pale finger down the shirt clad chest. The detective shivered at the soft touch of the pale man before him.
“You’re rouge and a distraction.”
“You wound me good sir; I am only doing my job and helping you along Hansom just as my Boss wants. I can’t help it if I am too good at my job.” Suigetsu pouted in mock offence.
“Just tell me what you got from the car.”
“Well I know a lot of things. For instance I know where Mizuki injured himself and I found clues that led me to his hiding hole, which is across the street from Umino’s apartment. He has been squatting in the abandon warehouse for at least a month. Don’t worry I wore gloves but the place is a sty littered with food wrappers and things taken from the teacher’s apartment. It’s all in my report.”
“How the hell did you find his hole?” Fadre snatching the file from the out stretched hand. He scanned through the file never saw the predatory look flash across the pale man's face.
"It's my job to find the bad guy. The trouble I have is trying to find a good guy." Suigetsu purred leaning into the detective's personal space. He had to suppress the chuckle when he saw Fadre Adam's apple bob in a forced swallow.
"Distraction."
"Yes you are love." the bounty hunter smirked. "Now I need a favor from you to work the other half of my case."
"That's a joke. You found all this in less then two days, what could I possibly have that you need?"
"I need the files on the Uzumaki car accident and Case numbers related to the lawsuits against Uzumaki-san."
"What? Why would you need those?" Fadre was taken back by the sudden seriousness of the handsome man before him.
“There has to be more to this case then a principal wanting to take a child from in unstable home. The Lawsuits started almost immediately after Kyuubi was registered at Sheriken. But I have a theory that this started before Kyuubi was even school age."
"You think this might have to the death of Naruto and Kyuubi's Parents? Why would someone want to take a kid away from such a happy well stabled Family?"
"Did you know that both boys have a photographic memory? They are both child prodigies. Naruto's talents lie in sociology, math and computer sciences. Kyuubi's is an untapped Genius. He hasn't found his niche yet. A child like that under the right conditions can be molded into anyone, from a concert violinist to the next President. The possibilities are endless for such an untapped mind. Naruto has been lucky with the judges in family court. If my theory is correct who ever wants Kyuubi will be getting a judge rule in their favor."
"Interesting idea Hozuki." both the young men jumped at the gruff voice.
"Captain! Hozuki-san just stopped by to drop off his report. I suggest that we get forensics over to the warehouse and collect everything Mizuki might have been left behind." The tall detective shot up nearly colliding with Suigetsu.
"Yeah, you better get on it detective while I look this over." Ibiki snapped. He watched the tall detective run away faster than Naruto at a Ramen sale. "I thought I told that boy not to become shark bait."
"I haven't taken a bite out of him Marino-san, yet. So, about those case files."
"You'll get them. Come with me, I have kept those files close in my office. That case has always bugged me. The first hit was the drunk driver. His Blood Alcohol level was point one five he swerve into the Uzumaki car but reconstruction showed they had an 80% chance of surviving the accident. It was a hell of a down pour that night visibility was low but the second car had to going 30 miles an hour with no signs of stopping. The car that hit them from behind was odd because the impact did nothing but insure the family inside the car was trapped. Yet, Minato took a bit of car shrapnel to the chest and through the heart Kushina had a shard of glass nick a major artery in her neck. She bled out at the scene."
"Crime of opportunity. The family was being watched, probably even approached about their gifted son. After a few years Naruto is too old to mold their way so they backed off until Kyuubi was born then the family is back on the radar. They were watching for signs of genius. Then Bam! The accident happens and now both of the parents are dead they can get their hands on the boy. What they didn't count on was Naruto’s devotion to his baby brother."
"I see where you're going with this. After Naruto wins emancipation and custody of his brother they back off because it would be too suspicious if they went after Kyuubi right after Naruto brought him home. It's a good theory but lacking in proof. Without evidence there is no murder." Ibiki snarled shoving the files into the bounty hunter's hands then dropped into his chair.
"Like I said it's a theory Marino-san. Although if this turn out to be fact instead of theory I will get you proof." Suigetsu tucked the files into his bag before glanced at his watch. "Well my time here is done. Have Hansom call me if you get anything. I promise I won't bite, hard."
"Just don't chew him up and spit him out when you’re done with him. He's a good kid and you could you break him."
"Have no fear, if I do get him on the hook I won't let him go. I know he's a keeper just by the way he is dedicated to his work. It shows loyalty, faithfulness and passion to solve the case. All things I value in a man it doesn't hurt that he's tasty looking bait."
"Fine, it's not place to mess about in my cops' love lives. Just make sure it doesn't affect his work. He'll want to be in on the Uzumaki case and I need his brain."
"So noted; I'll get back to you Captain." Suigetsu gave a shark like grin and glided out of the office.
"Kurai never stood a chance."

"So how did things go with interview?"
"I was a nervous wreck but Kyuubi was awesome. He starts school with the twins after the New Year. Now that the interview is done and over with I just have to worry about my court date." Naruto sighed dropping his head on his sensei's bedside.
"Oh Sunshine you have nothing to worry about." Iruka smiled running his fingers to the Sun colored locks.
"Sensei!" the muffled shout made the injured teacher laughed.
"Oh sorry didn't mean to use your nickname in front of your boyfriend, but you need to stop stressing. You have the best Lawyers in all of Fire Country. There is nothing to worry about. That Social worker does not have a leg to stand."
"Sensei is right Dobe. The Hyuugas will tear that guy and his case to shreds." Sasuke sat in a chair across from the hospital bed. His boyfriend had another rough night's sleep tossing and turning not really getting any proper rest. That was why he let his lover sleep in. He had hoped the extra would erase some of the dark circles that were forming around those beautiful blue eyes.
"Yeah guess so. So is Kakashi behaving himself?" The Whisker teen sat up wondering about the two teachers he as trying to set up with one another.
"Yes. Kakashi has been very kind since I woke up. He let Akino stay with me at night. Although, this morning he brought the whole pack to visit; Bull nearly squashed me."
"They let that monster in here. He didn’t hurt you did he?"
"No he didn't. Bull is surprisingly graceful for his size. When he jumped on the bed he didn't touch my bad leg at all. I guess I'll have to get use to it when I go stay with Kakashi."
"It'll be good for you. I hear Anko has threatened to come over and cook for you guys to make sure you are eating properly." Naruto snickered and Sasuke smirked at their now green face English teacher. Anko was a woman of many talents cooking was not one of them. Mixing drinks was fine but making food was not.
"Yes, she said we needed adult supervision."
"You got that right Otouto. I'm going to make sure you have at least a hundred feet between your bed and his at night." A voice announced coming into the room.
"Anko I thought we had a truce." The art teacher whined following the PE teacher to Iruka's bedside.
"There is a truce but Iruka is my baby brother and if you are going court him it will be with proper supervision."
"Anko-sensei please, leave them alone. They are dating just fine without your interference. Kabuto says Iruka need rest and calm not the constant friction you cause Anko." Naruto scolded the two adults; they were worst the Kyuubi was when he didn't want to take his nap.
"Grrrr." the room went quiet. Akino was on he feet with his fur on end.
"Akino?" Iruka called softly.
"Grrrr." the door opened.
"Umino-san it's time for you lunch." that was all that was said before Akino lunged at the nurse carrying the food tray.
"AHHH!"
"AKINO!" everyone shouted but the dog didn't attack the nurse but food on the tray. The shades wearing canine was digging at the food. The frighten nurse ran to get the doctor probably get Akino remove.
"Grrr... Bark! bark!"
"What is going on with your mutt Kakashi?" Anko yelled with a Kunai in hand.
"Something must be wrong with the food. He has the sharpest nose second to Pakkun in the whole pack." Kakashi struggled with his dog but managed to get him off the food tray with Sasuke's help.
"Troublesome. Kakashi-sensei if you can't keep your dog under control he won't be allow in here anymore."
"Hey, Shikamaru. Akino was after the food something must wrong with it can you have it looked at?" Naruto asked scared to think what all this could mean.
"We're not a crime lab Naruto but I'll see what we can do. You might want to call the police to have them verify anything the labs might find." yawn the lazy teen.
"I already called Ibiki he'll be here shortly." Sasuke replied scooping up a sample for the Nara to take. "Here. Akino seemed to focused of the salad."
"Sure thing Uchiha, how troublesome. I'll have security doubled up on this floor." Once the Nara heir left everyone calmed down a bit and waited for the scarred captain to arrive.
"Anko-sensei, hand it over."
"Hand what over Uchiha-san?"
"The Kunai. That is the third one you brought in this hospital."
"Fine." the purple haired woman growled giving over another kunai from her precious collection. "It was just so I could protect my Otouto. I guess it isn't needed though, with that dog on the job."
"Akino was once apart of the AFT training program but wash out. They didn't said why in his file only that he was just dropped off by AFT Trainers at the pound. I brought him and Bisuke home together. Now at the time Bisuke was a recovering victim of fight dogs. He was used as a baiter got tore up real bad. At the pound he was in the same Kennel as Akino and he would not leave Bisuke's side. He wouldn't eat unless the injured pup would eat it was really touching but Akino was slated to be gassed. That was when my friend gave me the call to come get him.
"When I got there Akino was curl up to Bisuke keeping him warm but when I went to get him out of the kennel he growled and snapped at me. He refused to leave Bisuke and did not want me to get near the pup. No one could get near them and the other workers at the pound wanted shoot him with tranquilizers. I was against that idea and thought it better if I tried to earn his trust first. So I sat there just out side the kennel with the door opened and talk to Akino for hours trying to coax the dog to come with me. Finally I promise to adopt t he injured puppy and that we would all go home together. I swear that that dog can understand every word we say because the next thing I knew Akino is pulling me into the kennel towards Bisuke. It was if he was saying 'Alright, I accept your offer take us home.' I had them home in less than an hour and my personal vet as well as a plastic surgeon friend of mine looking them over."
"He truly is a special dog." Iruka smiled then patted the bed calling the dog to him. The shade wearing dog readily complied. "Then again all of them are special are in their own way."
Akino barked his agreement and licked the English teacher's face. Everyone laughed and relaxed from the tension that had built in the room. Genma and Raido returned with a proper lunch of greasy burgers and oily fries, which met with Akino's approval and the nurse's disapproval.
Naruto watched Kakashi like a hawk. Since attending Konoha he had yet to see Kakashi's face and the curiosity was just bugging him. He wasn't the only one either. Sasuke gave the ire of not caring but secretly he was watching the art teacher through his peripheral vision as were the Math, Drama and PE teacher. In all the years that Anko, Raido and Genma had work with Kakashi they also had never seen his face. Everyone but Iruka was waiting for Kakashi to just drop the mask.
"Toxic report just came back on the Salad." Shikamaru announced as entered the room with Ibiki. With the attention divert from the silver Scarecrow to two new arrivals allowing Kakashi to consume his food without detection.
"The labs uncovered Botulinum toxin in the dressing." Ibiki growled as he read off the report. "This means that the suspect was here in the hospital."
"Bo-tox? Isn't that for wrinkles?" Anko grimaced at the though of wrinkles.
"This is the biggest hospital in all of Fire Country. We service almost every kind of medicine known to man here. The wing housing the plastic surgery OR and medication was broken into. We are letting the police go over the security vids they will find the guy. We have cameras everywhere." Shikamaru yawned. The young genius gave off the impression of boredom but his body was stiff with frustration and underlying anger that someone was in his family's hospital trying to kill one of his teachers. And anyone looking at him would have thought that the boy didn't care about anything; anyone else but Naruto.
"It's not you're fault Shikamaru." Naruto's voice shook the genius from his inner rant.
"Naruto..."
"I know what you're thinking I can hear it from here. This is your home and you should feel safe and that the people that are here under your car should be safe. It's not your fault a mad man got in and took the safety away. Ibiki will tell you that the hospital security is top notch here.”
“Naruto is correct Shikamaru-kun. Mizuki is smart and gives off the sense of being nice and charming to get what he wants. He is a skilled manipulator able get what he wants without anyone being the wiser. I’m sure he had this planned out before his picture was circulated through out the hospital.” Iruka reassured the Nara genius.
“We have confirmed that a man matching the description of the suspect was seen in the hospital wearing scrubs and a doctor’s coat. Inventory tells us he has also stole medical supplies for mend an injured leg and other small injuries. Detective Kurai is gathering all eyewitness statements now and we have an outside source working another angle. Although it is unlikely that he will return to the hospital I want to get Kabuto to release you and have you moved to a safe-house.”
“No Iruka is coming to stay at my place. He’s going to need room for his recovery and therapy, not some cramp safe house where he can’t move.” Kakashi snapped. No one was going to take his lover away from him.
“I know you want to keep your boyfriend with you but you have to think of his safety.” Ibiki never liked dealing with distraught loved ones of victims. He didn’t have the emotion empathy needed to calm them or get them to see reason.
“Ibiki, let Kakashi-sensei take Iruka-sensei home. His place is gated and better protected with a pack of dogs running around everywhere. Just look where he lives it’s almost impossible to get in.” Naruto knew that Kakashi’s manor was the best solution. He had been they many times with Ero-sennin to pick the hung-over Art teacher up and clean him up after a weekend Pub crawl. The grounds were expansive and was isolated enough that they would be able to detect anyone that didn’t belong there.
“I’ll have a couple of my men scout it out. If they report it unacceptable then Umino-san is going to the safe-house.”
Kakashi growled wanting to snap at the police chief but Iruka’s gentle touch on his arm kept him quiet.
“That will be fine, Ibiki-san. Kakashi why don’t you and Anko go pack up my things from Rasengan and my apartment? I didn’t pack enough for such a long stay. Genma and Raido will keep me company.”
“Whatever, Otouto, but keep the pervert’s mutt with you. He has a good nose for danger.” Anko got up and got into Ibiki’s face. “One more slip up Scarface and something happens to my baby brother and I will give you a personal introduction to my weapon collection.”
“ANKO!” Iruka was now bright red. He couldn’t believe she just threatened the Police chief.
“Love you too Otouto, come on Pervert we got work to do.” And she sashayed right out the door with a grumbling art teacher trailing behind her.
Naruto had to smoother the laughter that threatened to come out as he watched the harden ex-FBI/cop blush. He was sure that the man hadn’t been talk to like that in a long time. Maybe when this was all over he could hook the two of them up. He knew that Sukora would love it if her dad had a girlfriend. Then he would over look her dating Shino.
“As I was saying I’ll go see about the security at Hatake manor. I’ll let you know if there is in the change in the case.” And the chief coughed and made a hasty retreat.
“Arigato Ibiki-san. Now Naruto, you and Sasuke better go meet with Hyuuga-sama your Court date is coming up and you need to be prepared for anything.”
“Alright sensei you win. Call us when they move you. That way we know you’re safe." Naruto gently hugged his big brother before dawning on his jacket.
"Oh Naruto-kun," Genma sang, "I love the Uchiha fan on your jacket."
"That's... I mean... IT' THE BASTARD'S FAULT!!" everyone laughed as the red-faced teen ran from the room with a smirking Uchiha sauntering after him.
"Troublesome. I'll find Dr. Yakushi so you can get signed out. Don't worry Iruka-sensei I will get our private Ambulance to transfer you safely to Kakashi-sensei's Manor." Shikamaru nodded to the injured teacher. He couldn’t have prevented the attempt on Iruka's life but he would insure his safety until he was behind the Hatake gates.
"Thank you Shikamaru-kun." The English teacher watched sadly as his student left them. The boy was too young to carry so much unfounded guilt on his shoulders.
"So looks like you and the scarecrow are going to be shacking up Iruka-kun." Genma teased. The Drama teacher just loved to tease others about their love lives, much to the distress for his lover.
"Genma!"

"We are glad you could meet us here Naruto-kun. The Office is closed and reports are in that Downtown has been snowed in since Christmas."
"It's not a problem Hyuuga-san." Naruto took off his coat and handed it to a waiting maid.
"Uchiha-san is not with you?"
"Uh... No. He was a bit tied up this afternoon so I drove here on my bike."
Flash Back
"Dobe this isn't funny! Give me the damn key!" Sasuke was pissed as he tried to yank his cuffed wrist free from the Iron bed frame.
"Sorry Teme but I need to do this by myself. Things are going to get real personal and I don't think I can deal with it if you were there." Naruto felt guilty for tricking his boyfriend with seduction to handcuff him to the bed.
As soon as they got home they were locked in a heated make out session tearing their shirts off as the blond pushed them towards the bedroom. Ignoring the misgivings of stripping the Uchiha he managed to remove the Raven's pants and boxers throwing them out of reach. Before Sasuke could return the favor he took the cuffs from the table drawer and locked the Uchiha in place before pulling back and redressing. Even though he felt bad for doing this he did not regret the mouth watering sight of the Naked Uchiha in his bed. He only wished he could stay to enjoy the sex god that was his boyfriend. But Duty comes before pleasure. Naruto doubted that Sasuke would be in a affectionate mood when he returned.
“Where did you ge these from?”
“(Cough) Sai (Cough)”
"At least give me my Clothes before you go!"
"Can't I'm running late as it is but you can get under the covers if you get cold. Haku has a spare key in case the building catches on fire. Later Sasuke."
"Naruto, joke's over you can come back and unlock me!" the blond just kept walking right out the door. "Naruto? NARUTO! DAMN DOBE!"
End Flashback
"Well I hope you don't mind if Neji sits in on this. He will be interning this summer at the firm this summer before going to Suna University." Hizashi led the teen to a lager office where his brother and son were waiting for them.
"That's fine I trust Neji to keep this confidential." Naruto nodded to his classmate before taking the offered seat.
"Now Naruto-san the Hearing tomorrow was short notice for all parties which means we need to go over what the possible charges they might throw at you. "Hiashi stated looking over the papers on the case.
"I don't get why she is after me? Kyuubi is a happy healthy well adjusted child." Naruto rubbed his forehead trying to stop the on coming headache.
"We are unsure as well but whatever her motive is, we will not let her succeed. Now since the meeting in the hospital you have transferred Kyuubi to Konoha Elementary and have an established relationship with someone from a prominent family. This will work in your favor regarding your sexuality."
"Yeah?" Naruto blushed. He knew that this was going to be a major issue but it was still embarrassing to talk about.
“Yes. Proving that you are in a serious relationship shows your character as well as you determination. It shows that you are Loyal and you are not one of lose morals that would sleep with any male that crossed your path. You can be sure that Danzo will bring it up. You will be asked if you are sexually active and how many lovers have you had since you’ve had Kyuubi in your care.”
“I am not sexually active.” ‘At least not yet.’ He thought trying to avoid eye contact with Neji who he had doubt was smirking at him.
“Naruto-kun?” Hizashi sat in a chair closest to his brother holding his school records. “Who knows of your gift? That you have and photographic memory.”
“Just my family, the schools I went to before Konoha. Tsunade took it out of my records when I transferred. Oh and the Psych department of Suna University I had some issues with my development when I was younger and I had to undergo some tests. They were the ones to discover weirdness that I had. I was slow at motor skills cause I was too busy absorbing the world around me. Eventually they got me caught up and everything and really didn’t think much on it after that until Kyuubi started to show the same symptoms. He was tested to and we found he was like me to busy with world to bother with learning to sit up or crawl. I used the same techniques that were use on me to make sure he would develop normally. I never mentioned it to Shuriken because I didn’t want him treated differently because he was unique. Sensei Terumi knows but she promised to not write it in his file as I requested.”
“I have the University’s trans-scripts here Hizashi. These were sealed at the request of Minato and Kushina.” Haishi hand his twin the file.
“Brother if these were sealed then how was in Naruto’s school files. Minato wouldn’t just tell anyone about Naruto’s gift he wanted the files sealed.” This case was getting more questions than answers.
“Look at who was in charge of the case study Hizashi. They are a close personal friend of Principal Utatane as was as Caseworker Shimura.”
“Homura Mitokado? He’s a City Councilman.”
“But he wasn’t when I was a child he was the professor heading the Psyche department.” Naruto remember the stoic man and he would look at him as if he were a bug in a jar to be studied. “I remember my dad yelling at someone at the door. He didn’t let the man in but he did tell the guy that if he came around me or my mom again he would regret it. He had to have been talking to Mitokado. Later he was present at Suna when we brought Kyuubi in but he wasn’t the one conducting the tests. Why would he want Kyuubi taking from me?”
“Councilman Mitokado is well connected but his health has been failing as of late.” The Hyuugas and Naruto turned to the voice by the door. They were confront with the sight of a tall albino with violate eyes and a pissed off Uchiha.
“Who are you and how did you get in here?” Neji Jumped from his seat posed ready to attack the intruder.
“Oh I have my ways. The Name is Suigetsu Hozuki, Bounty hunter and Private Eye Extraordinaire. You all know my Boss Sasuke Uchiha.”
Suigetsu strolled further into the room but was over taken by a fuming Sasuke who stormed straight up his boyfriend.
“Sasuke… I…”
“We’ll talk about this later Naruto.” The raven growled his dark black eye boring in to his lover. “Right now Suigetsu has some important information he needs to tell your Lawyers.”
“(cough) Please Gentlemen have a seat. Neji please order tea for our guests.”
“Hai father.” Neji bowed out of the room and Hizashi turned to their client and guests.
“Now can what can you tell us about the Councilman’s plans?” Hiashi asked staring intently at the Bounty hunter
“Well Hyuuga-sama I can’t say what his plans are exactly but I can infer what they might be based on what I have uncovered.” The Bounty hunter hand his file over the younger Hyuuga before taking a seat next to shivering blond. He wasn’t going to sit himself next to the raging inferno known and Sasuke.
“Mitokado has had liver cancer and had part of it removed. Eventually he had to have it replaced. At the time of the first operation he was a professor at Suna when he first met Uzumaki-san. He under went chemo and steroids treatments and it went into remission but continued teaching. Even then Mitokado had visions of grandeur. Sarutobi had once been friends with him when they taught at the University together but that ended soon after Uzumaki-san’s gift was uncovered. I talked to Sarutobi-sensei about the abrupt end to said friendship and he wasn’t to forthcoming with the details. He did tell me that Mitokado offered more than once to Tutor the child which the Uzumakis refused. He made several more offers to the family which were all denied. Eventually he did stop as Uzumaki-sama filed a restraining order against him.
“I believe he wanted Naruto to become his legacy to fulfill his ideas after he was gone. About a year after the final offer he retired from the University he went into politics and began reforming the city with some of the more unfair and unjust law came out to better favor the upper classes and weed out the poor and lower classes I believe his goal it create a super class of rich and powerful people and spread his ideas across the country. His cancer return about 6 years ago and he was somehow lucky to get to the top of the donor list and got a brand new liver with in that year.
“I think that since he was so close to death he became obsessed with molding someone with his ideas and the image to make it happen. He had found the perfect prodigy in young Uzumaki but now he was too old to mold into what he wanted so he needed to look for another vessel for to further his ideas. Then in walks the Uzumaki family with Kyuubi-kun another child Prodigy. Well he can’t go up to the family after being rejected once before. He had to wait and try a different approach but he never got the chance as they passed away tragically in the car accident. But he did try to benefit from their loss for who could pass up a golden opportunity. As you will notice the lead state attorney in the custody case was Akado Yoroi who is his half brother.”
“Yes I remember him he was a good Litigator but we were better.” Hizashi sneered at the memory, shade wearing lawyer that tried to intimidate them and their client.
“No brother we are superior to him. He will not win against us if he should be against us in court tomorrow.”
“Oh he will be Hyuuga-sama. I stopped by the court earlier today and looked up just who you will be facing. The good news is that you will be in front of Judge Kurama. He is fair and very straight forward. He does not let Politics sways his judgment.”
“That is very good news Hozuki-san. We can better prepare our case with these factors involved. While we can not bring the councilman and his deeds to light for lack of evidence, we can ensure that our case Naruto-san’s fitness as Kyuubi’s guardian is air tight.”
“That’s great Hyuuga-sama!”
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves Naruto-san. We still have a lot work ahead of us. Now let’s start with your testimony.”

It was late when Sasuke and Naruto returned from the Hyuuga estates. The blond tried to think of ways defuse the powder keg of anger he lit inside of the Uchiha as he sat quietly in passenger seat of the Hummer. Sasuke refused to let him out of his sight refusing to let him drive his motorcycle back to Rasengan. The Bounty Hunter graciously volunteered to drive the bike thus avoiding the dark mood that had settled in car.
Sasuke was seething in his anger. He didn’t know who to be more upset with; Naruto for using sex to trick him into getting handcuffed to the bed or himself for falling for it. He had been so enraptured by the blonde’s aggressive tactics that he fail to question why the usually shy teen was being so forward. It also hurt that his Dobe didn’t want him with at such an important meeting. He was an Uchiha; he was a resourceful ally; why did Naruto insist on taking everything on himself?
They pulled in to the garage with Suigetsu pulling into the slot next to the Hummer. The Bounty hunter seemed to sense that the tension did not dissipated on the ride home and he quickly bowed out saying something about hunting some shark bait for the night. Sasuke dismissed his friend with “Hn.” Before dragging Naruto up to the apartment where they would not leave until he got some damn good answers for the Dobe’s actions and some serious apologies.
“Teme! Stop dragging me everywhere you’re going to pull my arm out!”
“I should pull it out so I can beat you with it! Now get in the house we seriously need to talk.” Sasuke snarled as slammed open the door.
“Yeah, I know.” Naruto said meekly as he shuffled inside taking off his jacket and boots. He turn from the Raven and sat at the far end of the couch avoiding any eye contact. Sasuke followed suit once his snow gear was removed. Both of them sat at opposite ends of the couch both gathering their thoughts together. One sat in worry while the other stewed in his anger and hurt.
“So,” The Uchiha had enough of the silence and he was already short on patience. “Are you going to tell me what the hell you were thinking or do I get to guess at your stupidity?”
“I’m not stupid I just thought I was doing the right thing at the time.” Naruto mumbled still not looking at his lover.
“How is cuffing me naked to the bed for Suigetsu to find the right thing to do?”
“I wasn’t planning anyone one but me to find you. I have been relying on you to much, and I need to start doing things on my own again.”
“I hear your voice but all I hear you say is a bunch of shit! You have barely asked for my help since I’ve been here Naruto. I have to fight you just to help you do the damn dishes now cut the bullshit. Why did you not want me with you today?”
"You’re too close to me!" Naruto screamed. His eyes widened at his sudden declaration. He hadn't meant to say that. He didn't know he was feeling this way until Sasuke pushed him into the proverbial corner.
"What?" Sasuke's voice was but a whisper, but the hurt could be heard loud and clear.
"I'm sorry." the tears began to fall from those cerulean eyes. "I like you a lot but I'm scared that you are too close to my heart. I feel I shouldn't get to close to you because you’ll be torn away from me at any moment. My parents, I thought that they would live forever I thought, that I would have all the time in the world with them. But I was wrong, I was so very wrong. I lost them in and instant and now I might lose Kyuubi the last piece I have of my parents and I don't know what I'll do if they manage to take him from me. My heart can't take any more pain; I have to protect it and you are getting too close to breaking in to it. If you settle in my heart and get taken from me too, I'll shatter there will be nothing left of me. Do you understand I won't survive I need to step back if just to save my sanity."
"What about My Sanity Naruto? What about My Heart that had been incased in ice until you shattered it with your smile and laughter? You think I will survive if you walk away now? Well I'll tell you I won't. You thought I was an asshole before well that is nothing to what I'll be come if you leave me right now. I will never feel or let anyone close to me again. I felt nothing until I met you. Even when it was just rivalry and irritation I felt something. Before you I had but a cold existence and nothing could ever affect me and my cynical view of the world. If you go the world around me will cease to exist for me because I won't feel a damn thing. You did this to me Naruto and you have to take responsibility for my heart that you took and made warm and whole." By now Sasuke had his lover by the shoulders forcing him to see the anger and pain he was feeling.
"I'm sorry Sasuke." Naruto sobbed as he broke down crying no longer trying to hold back his emotions. Over and over he kept saying sorry as threw his arms around the angry boy and buried his face in his neck. The bawling teen felt strong arms wrap around his waist and hold him tight.
"Sshh.. Dobe I got you. I won't ever willingly leave you. Never willingly." The Uchiha just held the smaller teen in his arms as if to shield him with his soul from everything that could harm him.
Hours later after Naruto had cried himself to sleep Sasuke carried him to the bed room and put him to bed. It was still another hour or so before he, himself, could fall asleep. These passed few days were just a rollercoaster of emotions for them. Naruto's feeling going up and down with the start of their relationship and fighting to keep Kyuubi. Sasuke's were caught in a whirl wind and still trying to balance out since they were feelings he had never experienced before. In the end he fell asleep holding his Dobe securely in his arms.

"Oh, quit pouting Hansom it doesn't become you."
"I' m not pouting just disappoint that I gave into your charms so easily. The Captain is going to kill me."
‘Seriously how did we get from going over the case to fucking on any and every available surface?’
"Don't be so dramatic love. Ibiki doesn't care who you fuck in the off hours as long as you're on time for work." pale fingers drew little circles on the naked tan chest.
"Yeah, right. I am sure this constitutes as sleeping with the enemy."
"The enemy?" Suigetsu burst out laughing. "I like you Hansom you make me laugh. But seriously I already talked to your dear captain and I told him that I plan to keep you as long as you will have me."
"Why? You don't really know me just what's in that little tablet you got. How get you get that anyway?"
"I have my ways; I needed to know where you lived after all. It's true I have just raw facts on you love but I feel something when I'm around you and you are worth getting to know beyond the file. You see as a bounty hunter I play many parts to catch my prey. But every time I play a part I feel nothing. It's all just seduction and sometimes sex to get the information I need. When I first saw you I felt sad that I might have to do that with you if you didn't help me get what I needed willingly."
"You would have fucked me to get what you wanted?" Fadre was a bit disgusted with the idea and bit hurt by it.
"Yes and it would have hurt because I knew you would never let me keep you as my own. Lucky for the both of us Ibiki gave us his blessings on both work and love making." The violet eyed man whisper as he captured his lover’s kissable lips.
The detective would swear with his dying breath that this man's kisses were a drug. One drug that he could not live without. He could feel himself getting hard once again for the fifth time that night. What was it about this guy that made him want to give in to this insanity for worshiping the pale skin beneath his finger tips?
"We got to stop I don't want be late for work." Fadre panted gently pushing his lover back.
"Alright as you wish but just let you know I'm not leaving. You're mine now and I won't let you go without a fight." Suigetsu gave the detective a sharky grin.
"Kami help me."
"You're so cute. Anyways love I need update you on the case. My theory is that Uzumaki's were killed and that it was a crime of opportunity. Since it's a really old case it will take some time to get proof and witnesses to the crime let alone suspects so I might have to leave you on your own to hunt them down."
"What?! Have you told the captain about this? Is this connected to the hit and run?"
"Of course I told Ibiki, who do you think gave me the old case files, and no it's nothing to do with the hit and run but what happened with the social worker. The red strings of fate are just now becoming visible to me and I have to follow where they lead."
"Maybe I should go with you. That way we could use the evidence in court."
"Oh honey you are just too sweet. The places I need to go do not take kindly to the badge."
"Hey I've done some undercover work I could blend."
"Love you're still a bit green around the edges. I'm known in these parts as the White Shark they would think you're my bitch of the week. Not that any one would know I love to ride the whale size cock you mange to hide in your pants." the Bounty hunter chuckled at seeing his lover blush in moon lit room. "See you can't handle a little dirty talk without blushing."
"I can handle it just fine. It's just when you talk I can't rein in my emotions." Fadre wrapped his arms around the milk white shoulders and pulled them closer.
"Like I said you're too sweet. Fadre You can't go with me but I'll be thinking about you."
"If you won't take me will you at least call if you get into trouble?"
"Yes. While I'm gone you take care of My Boss and his new friends. I'm trusting their safety to you."
"Of course I'll protect them. Naruto-san is like a kid brother to me. Always comes in with Sukora-san and smiles to everyone. Sometimes they bring lunch to those of us who are working on a tough case that has us on overtime. It pisses me off that someone wants to hurt them. I got some good leads from the hospital and what you put in that file of yours I'll be closing in on the bastard so enough."
"I know you will love and the boss will be happy to hear that or at least as happy as an Uchiha can get. Which I might add was not very happy today. His little lover left him in quite the predicament. He was raging the whole afternoon I do not want to be in Uzumaki-san's shoes." Suigetsu shivered at the memory but smirked as the arm that held him pulled him closer to that oh so defined tan chest.
"Well then we better get some sleep we both have another long day ahead of us. Night Sharky."
"Night Hansom."

"For the Last time Kakashi I'm fine! My pillows have been fluffed enough!"
"Sorry I just want to make sure your comfortable. Are you warm enough? I can get you a blanket. Are you hungry? I got some Chicken and dumpling soup from the Sandaime Café. Or if you’re thirsty…"
"Enough! Kakashi Will you stop it! I don't need any thing right now. I will let you know when I do. Just relax and sit the fuck down you're upsetting your pack." Iruka was at his wits end with the overly helpful art teacher.
"Sorry I just…"
"Want me to be comfortable. I know you have said that at least a hundred times since I got here. Really Kakashi I'm fine. The nurse set up everything perfectly from my IV to my blankets and you gave me a great room with a view of the outside as well as this large screen TV. Everything I'll ever need is here thanks to you and Anko. You really need to stop worrying about me."
"I can't help it Iruka I really want you to like it here." Kakashi slumped down in the seat beside the bed.
"I do like it Kashi I just wish you would relax."
"I guess I did go a bit over board. I'm sorry I'm not really inclined as to what is considered socially accepted behavior. I lost my parents when I was five years old. My mother was very sick after she had me and for a long time I blamed myself for their deaths, because if she didn't have me than she wouldn't have gotten sick and my father would have never taken his life." Kakashi heard a gasp but he chose to ignore and stared deep into the fire place.
"Kashi…"

"Truth was nothing could have stopped the cancer that consumer her lungs. It started off slow a cough here then a dizzy spell there. Nothing to give her warning that it was serious until it was too late. By then I was pretty much independent, what with being a child prodigy and all. My Father couldn't handle what was happening, for him everything happened in an instant. One moment his wife had a cold and the next she was dead. He just shut down after her death. I didn't exist for him, hell, the world didn't exist. He became a ghost in his own house wandering in and out of her room at odd times during the day and crying over her picture at night.
"I was tended to by the house staff that made sure I was feed and clean and tutors who saw to fill my head with their knowledge so I could one day take over Hatake Industries. No one really cared what was happening to my father as long as the accountant was doling out the paychecks everything was fine. Jiraiya would come over and try to talk some sense in to him. He tried to get him to see he had me and other things to live for but it was no use. My father loved my mother so much he couldn't go on without her. He lasted two months after she was gone before he took his own life.
"I found him out in the garden that Mother had loved so much. His blood soaked into the ground around the Chrysanthemums. I was numb. It didn't feel real. I guess because I felt that my father had already gone when Mother had died. Another funeral, and another round of sympathy and looks of pity. I felt nothing; what was there for me to feel? I started to hear whispers from staff and tutors saying how shameful it was of my father to take his life. How he abandon his company for selfish reasons. How since I looked like him I was probably just as selfish and spoiled. I started wearing a mask to hide my face hoping to stop the rumors but it just made it worst. I had Jiraiya fire the staff and get me new tutors but I made sure to isolate myself in here until Jiraiya forced me to attend Konoha High.
"That's where I met Minato-sensei. He ran the after school Athletic Program. He mentored me against my will the whole four years I was there. I fought him at every turn trying to get him to leave me alone. He told me 'No one is destined to be alone. Life is more then Painful Memories of the past.' I didn't believe him at the time but he slowly chipped away at my shell and Kushina-san would mother every chance she got. I don't know how they put up with a bratty teen like me but they welcomed me into their lives and their home. I even got to know that little ball of sunshine known as Naruto.
"Then I went off to college. I kept in touch with Mina-sensei and came home for visits then started teaching at Konoha 2 years before Kyuubi was born. I started to loosen up a bit around people but couldn't really interact with them. Jiraiya gave me his books to read to help me better to learn human behavior. Well let's just say Night clubs and booze were my key to interacting with people. Then I lost Minato-sensei and Kushina-san. I hit the clubs at the bottle harder than before. I drank until I forgot them because the pain was unbearable. Jiraiya had to sober my ass more than once so I wouldn’t get fired. When Naruto came to Konoha I ignored him completely blocked him out of my memory. Then when I started to get close to you I started to see Naruto but I still didn't remember him. When I first arrived at his apartment and saw the shrine for Minato-sensei and Kushina-san I almost had a panic attack. Luckily I had you and the boys to distract me.
"I mourned them that night once we were in our rooms. I took a long shower and washed the tears away. Seeing them in that photograph made me realize how life can be taken in an instant. I knew I want to be with you even if it was just for a day before my life ends on this earth. I'm just sorry I can't be the man you deserve."
"Kakashi, you silly, silly man." Iruka scolded as tears fell down his cheeks. "It's true you need a little refining but you are more than I deserve in a lover. I know that I have been slowing falling in love with you for years but I have held myself back because I'm afraid to be happy. I was content in my boring little life but I wasn't happy. In a short time you have turned my world upside down even with all the crazy shit that's going on this is the happiest I have ever been since my parents died."
"Ruka, Baby, don't cry. I didn't want to make you cry." Kakashi rushed to his lover's side and held to crying English teacher.
"Sorry but I'm happy. I am happy that you want to be a better person but I don't want you to change well maybe toned down the pervy talk and teasing. I am honored that you shared your pain with me. I know it was hard for you to talk about growing up and losing your mentor. Kashi I know you feel guilty about forcing them from your memory but they would understand the pain you were going through. They would be proud that you are taking a bigger role in the Naruto and Kyuubi's life now."
"I really let them down in that prospect. But Naruto did good job raising Kyuubi even with out my screwed up presence."
"While I do agree that Naruto did raise Kyuubi wonderfully, I don’t agree that they are better off not knowing you. You add to their lives just by being you. Also you are not screwed up as you put it. None of us are perfect Kakashi and before you say it, no, I am not perfect either. I had the perfect life everything in order nothing out of place or too exciting bar the occasional outings with Anko my life was perfectly safe and boring. I was unhappy. Meeting you and the other at Rasengan has brought color into my safe black and white world. So I think that you should stop being hard on yourself and just relax and enjoy what we have now the rest will come in time.”
“How can I win against an argument like that? Fine I give up. I’ll try to relax but are you sure you don’t need anything?”
“Kakashi…” Iruka growled warningly.
“Sorry just want make sure.”
“I’m fine but tomorrow you might want to give the pack a bath. Bull is starting to smell a little ripe. The aforementioned dog whimpered at the thought of bath day coming a month early.
“Really I don’t smell anything.”
That’s because you have a mask over your nose. Trust me they need one and if I am to get better they need to be clean as well.”
“Alright you can watch my struggles on the security cameras as I try to corral them all into the tub.” The masked teacher huffed dreading the day to come.
“It won’t be that bad now get on the other side of me and get to bed it is already a quarter to twelve and my pain meds are making me sleepy.” Iruka yawned as he settled against the over fluffed pillows. He felt the bed shift as his scarecrow lover slid between the sheets and cuddle close with the silver head resting upon his tan chest. “Night, Kashi.”
“Night Ruka.”

Could this night get any better? The idiot cops were busy chasing their tails as he waltzed right in and poisoned his pet’s food. It was so simple when all people ever look at is the lab coat. He expected to hear on the news that the poor heroic teacher did not survive his injuries. Instead it was reported that a service dog went beyond the call of duty and prevent the veiled attack on the school teacher.
“Damn dog what was it doing in a hospital?” here he was hold up in a crappy motel on the out skirts of town while his disobedient pet got to live in luxury at Hatake Manor.
“That should be me! I deserve the fame and money these rich bastards take for granted. My pet will spread his legs for anyone with money it seems. Well it’s close to New Years I have time to plan a party for my little whore and his rich bastard. Soon my pet the waiting will be over. You and your lover enjoy your last moments because your death is upon you.”

A/N: Another chapter and another year has gone by. This has got to be the hardest year I’ve had to face with the loss of my beloved older brother. While the sadness has lessened the pain is still there but I have pressed on as he would not want me to give up what make me happy for mourning his loss.
