Deidara smiled and waved as he walked past Hinata's door toward Neji's office. He knocked and poked his head in the door. “You wanted to see me, Neji-san?”
Neji nodded. “Yami, I've noticed some of our company's data has been incomplete or pages of reports missing. Have you noticed anything?”
Deidara frowned. How had they figured him out? He thought he was being careful. Keeping his nerves under control, he said, “No, sir.” After a moment he added, “Are you sure they are not just misplaced?”
It was Neji's turn to frown. He nodded. “Yes, unfortunately I've gone through most of the documents in the file room myself to make sure it wasn't just Charlene being herself. They appear to be completely gone.” He sighed. “I was hoping you may have noticed and seen a trend as you've been doing such good work around here. It may have lead me to whoever is taking this information.”
Deidara internally sighed in relief. “I am sorry, sir. I will keep my eyes open to see if I find any others during my daily work.”
Neji smiled slightly and nodded. “Thank you, Yami.” He nodded across the hall. “I believe Hinata requires your assistance for a bit. Please check in with her.”
Deidara nodded. “Yes, sir. Thank you.” He walked back across the hall and smiled at the reserved Hinata. “Mr. Hyuuga said you needed to see me?”
Hinata smiled and waved him into her office. “Yes, please have a seat Yami. It's a sizable ask.” She waited until he was seated before pressing on. “We have an upcoming acquisition. I have been looking over the financials of the Cloud Corporation and assessing their strengths and weaknesses. I've found so much, but I feel like there's something I'm missing.”
Deidara smiled. “I doubt that. There isn't anyone better in town than you at doing financial assessments.”
Hinata blushed at Deidara's compliment. “Thank you, but I've seen you assessing my father's financials and pointing out missing data and places where improvements could be made. I know you will be able to make this merger proposal absolutely perfect.”
Deidara leaned back and looked at Hinata. She was absolutely beautiful. He'd thought it many times in the past, but looking at her now in her element without a fiance attached, she was beyond anything he'd seen before. He knew couldn't do more than look or Madara would get pissed, but he appreciated her sweet personality just as much as his looks. In fact, he was almost having second thoughts given how kind all of the Hyuugas had been to him. He nodded at Hinata. “Of course, Miss Hyuuga, I would be glad to look over the proposal with you.”
Hinata clasped her hands together. “Great, and please, just call me Hinata. I don't want to have to keep reminding you.” She chuckled and passed over a binder full of paper. “I need to present this to the board by Friday, so if you can come back with your findings by Wednesday, that should give us enough time.”
Hinata smiled as Yami left the office. He was definitely a step up from Charlene and though she wasn't ready to start any new relationship, she found him incredibly handsome. He looked a bit like Naruto who she had had a large crush on before realizing Naruto was gay. Maybe when her heart had a bit longer to heal she'd see if there was a possibility of them going on a date.

Itachi smiled at Neji and Hinata as he opened the door for Naruto. “Come in, please.” He stood to the side to allow them in. Behind them were a younger girl and older man who though he hadn't met he assumed were her sister and father. “May I take your jackets?”
Hiashi smiled at the polite young man. He'd known Fugaku, though they'd never been friends seeing as they were business rivals he had always respected the man's sense of duty and honor. “You look very much like your mother, Itachi,” he said in greeting. “I am Hiashi and this is my daughter Hanabi.”
Itachi's eyes dimmed slightly, though his smile didn't waiver. “Thank you, Sir. It's a pleasure to meet you finally. With my taking over Sasuke's care when we were young, I didn't find much chance to visit during my senior year. Prior to that Neji weren't as close as we became that year and I had no reason to visit.”
Hiashi chuckled. “Please don't think of it.” He handed Itachi their jackets and pat the young man on the shoulder as he walked past.
Iruka poked his head into the hall. “Thank you for getting the door, Itachi.” Itachi nodded and headed toward the closet to put away the jackets. “Please, come join us in the living room. The food should be ready in about half an hour.”
As Hinata and Neji made their way through the door, Naruto came sprinting down the stairs and wrapped his arms around both of them. “I'm so happy you're here.” He let them go and wrapped his arms around Hanabi and spun her around. “You're getting so big, Hanabi.”
Hanabi giggled. “Naruto! I'm only three years younger than you.”
Hiashi shook his head and smiled at Naruto. “Naruto, if I didn't know how you felt about Itachi, I'd be worried about you with my daughters.”
Naruto chuckled sheepishly and set Hanabi down. “Nice to see you again, Sir.” He held his hand out to Hinata's father. “I hope you are doing well.”
Hiashi smiled. “Yes, thank you.” He smiled as Itachi came in and placed a kiss on Naruto's temple. “I am glad to see the two of you doing so well.” He frowned slightly. “Neji told me some of what was going on.”
Neji shrugged. “He asked how you were shortly after the issue with you being drugged by Madara. I don't know much more than that, but I told him about it.”
Hinata smiled and patted Naruto's hand. “Sorry that you are stuck with the Hyuugas as much as you're stuck with your Uchihas, Hatakes, and Uminos.” She laughed at Naruto's face as he pursed his lips and put his hands on his hips.
Kakashi handed Hiashi a glass of wine as he walked into the room before he handed one to Neji and Iruka as well. “Sasuke will be in shortly with sodas for you all. He really wanted to help in the kitchen. I wasn't entirely sure why, but then he started cooking in there and all I can say is, I'm not entirely sure where he's kept this skill hidden.”
Sasuke smiled. “Honestly, it's Iruka. He's such a good cook and I didn't want to stay here without helping – I was feeling like a freeloader.”
Iruka chuckled. “Never feel like a freeloader, Sasuke. You're my son's best friend and he would not forgive me if something happened to you.”
Hiashi frowned. This sounded a lot more serious than just some drug abuse by Madara. He nodded to Kakashi's quick shake of the head. Luckily Iruka had been too busy speaking with Sasuke to notice the exchange. While the children kept talking amongst themselves, the three adults also caught up. Itachi and Neji would move between the two groups as a conversation drew their attention.
When the food was ready, everyone moved to the dining room. Hiashi cleared his throat. “I am happy that we all have this time to spend together. I am glad to get us all together. Our three families have been intertwined for some time.”
Kakashi raised his glass. “I agree. It's wonderful to have you here. Our children have been so interconnected for so long that it is high time we start doing this again.”
Iruka smiled. “Let's eat.”
The table was awash in laughter as the three families reconnected. Hanabi kept blushing any time Itachi would show Naruto affection. Because Naruto was her sister's best friend she'd known he was gay for awhile, but she hadn't seen Naruto and his boyfriend together before. Hinata nudged her shoulder each time when she started blushing.
As dinner was winding down, Kakashi smiled at Hiashi. “What do you say to you, me, Itachi, Neji, and Iruka retiring to the study for a bit of a nightcap?”
Hiashi smiled in return. “Certainly. I'm sure that the rest of them wish to have a bit of time without us around.”
Hanabi chuckled at her father. “You just want away from the conversation on our relationships that is sure to happen.”
Iruka shook his head. “Naruto, Itachi, please help clear the dishes first.” When they both nodded, Iruka smiled at his son. “Thank you.”
Naruto hugged Iruka. “Of course, 'Ruka.”

Itachi frowned and ran his hands through his hair. “You're sure pages of your reports have been missing?”
Neji nodded. “Mostly in acquisition documents, but in some of our general ledgers as well.”
Hiashi leaned back. “We have a mole most likely.” He sighed. “We're going to have to pull the personnel records of anyone who started in the last six months or so.” He frowned. “I've been informed of who Haku has attached himself to. While Haku has made his choice, it's likely that we have been infiltrated to try to bring us down. It wouldn't be above Madara if he set his sights on Haku permanently as you've said.”
Kakashi sighed as Iruka shuddered. “Pull the files and send me the names directly. DO NOT send them to Konoha PD. We still have Madara's men there. I'm working with someone directly in the FBI who can run background checks without tipping Madara's hand.” He glanced at Itachi, “Meanwhile, you'll need to keep ears open even more at the club and when Madara sends you out in the field.”
Itachi nodded and closed his eyes. “I'm having to deal with the same as our contact. We aren't being put into a place where we have a chance to see anything super illegal. I got to observe that last shipment, but never actually saw anything that was in the containers. It's going to take some real work to get this figured out.” He huffed as he opened his eyes again. “I just want to take my uncle down. He can't continue to get away with his disregard for life and his using of people for means to his ends.”
Hiashi smiled at the man. “We'll find an angle that forces his hand. I may not be involved in illegal activities like your uncle, but I am well connected. We can solve this.”
