Chapter 14 - Foolish Little Brother

Sasuke sat frozen, staring uncomprehendingly at the blond on the bed next to him. Naruto had the oxygen mask pushed up to his forehead and his lips held a blue tint as he sat there, panting. The sound of the heart monitor and Naruto�s raspy breathing filled the room as seconds ticked away. Then a minute. Then two.

The raven haired teen was still frozen. Still staring blankly at the blond, and saw the teen shift uncomfortably under his gaze before coughing harshly. The mask slid down his face, making him wince as the elastic strap touched one of the cuts.

What Naruto had said��that it was his father that hurt him.

It could not be.

It was impossible.

Itachi was the one.

If any one in his family was a sick-o like that, it would be his brother.

Itachi was the soulless bastard.

Itachi was the one that killed everyone, leaving him to face the silence.

His father would never do that sort of thing. Would never do something that morbidly wrong.

�No.�

His huskily whispered voice was almost unrecognizable as his own.. It was too unbelievable. His father would never do that. Shaking his head, he felt a twang of pain from his abused back as his black hair swished from side to side around his pale face.

More sure of the impossibility now, Sasuke cleared his throat and spoke again.

�NO.�

He refused to believe it.

His father would not do that, his father was a good man.

His father was a trusted and respected man in the city.

He trusted and respected his father. He had spent most of his childhood trying to be someone his father would want him to be. There was just no way that the man he looked up to, was a rapist.

The sound of foot steps on the tiled floor of the small hospital room made the Uchiha look over. The white haired police chief was still there, standing in the middle of the room. Sasuke had forgotten him in the shock of what Naruto had said.

Jiraiya would tell him that Naruto was mistaken. That it was his bother that raped him. It had to have been his brother.

The raven haired teen stared at the police chief, waiting for him to say that Naruto was wrong.

He had to be wrong.

He had to be.

Slowly, the older man ran a hand through his white main of hair, then sighed.

Sasuke was still waiting for him to say it.

Naruto was his friend and all, but he had to be wrong.

The calloused, worn and just starting to wrinkle hand of the police chief, was sprawled across his face before he removed it with a quick gesture and shifted his weight from foot to foot.

The Uchiha was getting more and more inpatient by the second as the old man fidgeted.

�Say it already, my father could not have done it. Say it.�

In the last week, Sasuke had gone over everything in his mind about his brother in his head. How Itachi had betrayed him and abandoned him. How he killed the entire family without a second thought.

How his father had stood calmly in the middle of the room, surrounded by the bodies of his family, never backing down. How he hated his brother for pulling the trigger of the gun that rid the world of a man as courageous as their father. The welling, consuming hatred, that made it hard to focus when he thought about what his brother had done.

His brother was a fiend��. A monster, while his father was a man worthy of respect.

It had to have been Itachi.

It had to be him.

Jiraiya took a deep breath and Sasuke glared at the obviously stalling police chief. The hassled white haired man suddenly stood straight, adjusting his jacket and tie. He turned to the eagerly waiting teen that sat on the bed, feeling nervous as the boy eyed him like a hawk.

�Sasuke, your father owned the A club, and was attempting to buy Naruto from Orochimaru. Orochimaru was smitten with your brother and told your father that the price for a new whore was his son. Fugaku was not going to give him Itachi, but he had another son.�

Sasuke did not want to hear this. It had to be wrong. Shaking his head, he fisted the bed sheets. It was not true. His father would not do that. His father loved him.

He loved him. He would never just give him away.

�He wouldn�t.�

�HE WOULDN�T!!�

Leaning toward the police chief aggressively, practically growling, he shouted at the man saying these horrible things that his father would never do.

His father would not dirty his hands by owning a place like the A club. His father did not need a whore. He was happily married to his mother. His beautiful mother that went everywhere with his father. Fugaku loved him and would never, never agree to give him away like that.

Itachi was a bastard that might do something like that.

But NOT his father.

The police chief set his hand on Sasuke�s shoulder to attempt to comfort the distraught teen but

Sasuke slapped the hand off and glared at Jiraiya.

�He would not do that.�

The police chief put his hands up and backed away from the snarling teen. Backing into the wall, he lowered his hands and tucked them in his pant pockets, wiping his sweating palms on the pocket liner. Clearing his throat to get the irate teens attention, the older man spoke.

�Sasuke, the flash disk Itachi left behind had the location of the deed to the warehouse that the A club was in, as well as the location of the servers that ran the Akatsuki website. Your father owned both of them.�

Interrupting the police chief, Sasuke slammed his fist�s down and yelled.

�Itachi could have changed them!!!! He�s framing our father!!�

Sending the teen a leveling glare, Sasuke slumped and glared right back at the man.

�The original deed was entered into city records 20 years ago under your father�s name. The server that runs the Akatsuki website also runs your family�s business website. The flash disk also contained the un-edited video�s of Naruto�s rape. Fugaku was identified as a participant.�

Jiraiya stopped and looked at the pale teen who sat shaking on the bed. Sasuke�s hands had gone to his knees and was squeezing so hard his knuckles were white and there were red marks around his fingers.

In a detached voice that was oddly soft, sounding more like he was trying to convince himself, Sasuke whispered-

�It was Itachi.�

His long black bangs covered his pale face as he looked down at his hands. Emotions surged inside of him as he learned of his fathers double life.

Still, something inside him clung to the hope that it was wrong, refusing him to believe the words being said. Refusing to tarnish the memory of his father. It had to be wrong. He could not have been so dense to have missed this. Itachi was the monster of the Uchiha�s, not his father.

His brother killed everyone. His brother called him worthless.

His brother was the bastard.

Itachi was��.. was��..he did not know any more.

That little piece of him, clinging desperately to the hope that it was wrong, was over taken and destroyed. He did not know anymore why his brother killed them, or if his father was the man he thought he was. He did not know if he had been deluded his entire life to believe the man he looked up to was really a vile rapist who tried to turn his best friend into a fuck toy, nearly killing him in the process.

His heart pounded in his chest and echoed in his ears as everything he ever knew about his father crashed around him. A bitter taste filled his mouth, and he had to struggle to get the bile back down and passed the lump in his throat as something hot dripped down his face.

Croaking as the words came out of his mouth, the raven haired teen looked at the police chief before staring at the blond that was hooked up to a dozen different things because of his father.

�Why? Why would my dad do that?�

The police chief licked his lips and sighed before starting, obviously not wanting to say, what he was about to say.

�He needed a new whore because his old one got sick; contracted an STD from one of the stage performances where anyone could join in.�

There was a long silent pause before Jiraiya continued, avoiding the harsh gaze of the impatient Uchiha.

�Itachi got sick and Fugaku could not use him anymore at the A club because he might give it to the other members. I don�t know what STD Itachi has. Only that it could have been treated, but your father would not let him go to the doctor and have it found out that he was being raped. Your father got just enough medication for Itachi so that he would be a carrier, but not contagious. The disease was permitted to fester and build resistance to the drugs, so that the last time it flared up it passed the point of being curable and could not be repressed with medication. Your father just had to take pills for a week to get rid of it, each time he got it, with no questions asked. Your brother found out that he was no longer treatable from the collage sports physical results a few months ago and that he would give the disease to anyone that slept with him. That left your father without an uke for the club and went to Orochimaru to get a new one. The old snake found out about the STD from the collage doctor reporting it to the health department and was mad that your father had never let him sleep with Itachi.� There was a short pause. �So he demanded Fugaku give him you. It took Fugaku over a month to decide to go with it and tell him yes. Then another additional month to pick a teen that would meet your fathers standards. Orochimaru then went and cornered Naruto, who fit the description of what your father wanted. He refused, but they took him anyway. He took him to the basement of the club so that the premiere club members could test him out, to see if they thought he was worth it. Itachi was there, but only as the person that cleaned Naruto up, in between sets.�

Jiraiya took another pause before continuing-

�After the weekend, Naruto was left at the school because Orochimaru knew that he would be found to be underage and taken to the orphanage, where he could collect him when your father made his decision.�

He stared at the Uchiha uncertainly, sighing as he went on-

�The night we took Naruto to the hospital was the night your father was going to trade you for him. That�s why Itachi killed them that night. He was not going to let what had happened to him, happen to you. Your uncles knew about your fathers taste for young men, and that he frequently forced himself on your brother. That he got an STD from your fathers exploitations. But they were more worried about the Uchiha name and what would happen to the company stocks if it was found out. So they were covering it up.�

He stared at the young man sadly, swallowing as he proceeded-

�I�m sorry, Sasuke. But Itachi killed them to protect you. They all knew and were going to go to the club to make sure nothing went wrong and that the secret did not get out. Orochimaru was going to rape you on stage, and they were all going to watch. To make it clear to you, that you could not tell anyone.�

Sasuke was shaking, fingers digging into his knees, leaving little half moon red marks. His shoulder�s were slumped and the shaking got worse as what he was just told sunk in.

His entire world turned on its head for the second time.

Itachi was no longer the vile monster. His father was.

No. Not just his father, but his entire family.

His father and uncles and everyone he loved was nothing that he had thought they were. The morals and honor that they had demanded that he have, the Uchiha family pride, was all crap.

His family ran a whore house and his father raped his brother and his best friend. His family knew and did nothing. What honor and what morals went in to that? What was there to be proud about?

He remembered his father ushering him into the den, telling him that there was an important trade at a local gentlemen�s club that night, and that he wanted him to go with him. How his mother was getting drunk and had kissed him on the forehead.

She knew, and was kissing him goodbye.

It felt like there was a hand in his chest, squeezing his heart and leaving a weight in his stomach. The lump in his throat had swelled, and he could feel his chin quivering as tears streamed down his face.

Looking over, he saw the blond who was still breathing bad and looked nothing short of a beaten bag of bones, all because of his father.

Naruto was in this condition because of his family.

A single sob tore out of his clenched throat and he could feel the police chief place a hand on his head, guiding him into pressing his face against the mans wide shoulder.

All of the surging emotions and thoughts ground down into a solid lump of guilt that sat heavily in his stomach. Everything that had happened to the either of them was because of his father.

The only decent Uchiha killed all the others, but missed one.

Pushing the man away, Sasuke slid off the bed to stand on the cold floor. Tear�s silently ran down his face as the police chief once again tried to comfort the teen by placing his hand on the unclothed shoulder.

Swiftly, the raven haired teen took a step forward, raising his knee sharply between Jiraiya�s legs.

The mans eyes crossed and he made an odd high pitched noise as he sank to the floor, holding his battered nuts.

As the white haired man dropped, Sasuke grabbed the old police revolver from the holster at the mans side and stepped back, out of Jiraiya�s reach and across the room so that he was next to the window at the foot of Naruto�s bed.

Raising the gun to his temple and feeling his recently relocated shoulder protest, he glanced at the teen on the bed in front of him.

Naruto was struggling to unhook himself from all the IV�s and everything else that held him to the bed. Hands grabbed and pulled wires and tubes as his wide blue eyes pleaded with him. The blonde�s lips were moving. Sasuke was sure he was saying something, but the welling guilt that had consumed him, would not let him hear the words. Would not let him see anything but his own death.

Closing his dark eyes, he cocked the hammer, took a deep breath, then pulled the trigger.

Searing pain flashed across his forehead as the roar of the gun deafened him. Feeling blood flowing down his face, he opened his eyes and saw the panting, almost blue teen, holding the barrel of the gun, and pointing it out the now broken window.

Sasuke�s shoulder throbbed in pain from the weight of the gun in his hand suspended in the air like that. He jerked his arm back, ripping the gun from Naruto�s barrel burned hand. Before he could put it back against his temple and try again, the blond wrapped one arm around his shoulders, one arm under the gun wielding arm and up the abused back, to be buried in the midnight locks at the base of his skull. Sasuke could feel the warm side of Naruto�s face pressed against his own, and feel the strained gusts of breath against his ear.

�I�m not letting you go. You made a promise and I�m holding you to it. I�m not going to let you go.�

Sasuke shuttered as the breathless words of his friend seeped into his guilt ridden shell, making whatever was left of his emotional bottle shatter and leave him to the wrath of his emotions.

Letting his gun holding arm fall limply to his side, Sasuke set his face on the bony shoulder. Using his hand with the cast over his broken thumb, he buried his fingers as best he could into the thin hospital smock at Naruto�s back.

Tears flowed, unabashed, down his face and was adsorbed by the cotton cloth over the warm tan shoulder. He could feel the arm around his shoulder shift to better support him and the hand start to run through his black hair. He felt the vibrations from words he could not hear in the collar bone he was pressing his face against as his entire body shook from the force of the sobs forcing themselves out of his throat.

Naruto did not hate him for what happened. He did not blame him for what his father did to him.

Naruto was Naruto. A person with no double life or secrets. Just a loud mouth that wanted him around.

All the confusion, guilt, and grief he had felt from the last week washed over him and his legs gave out.

Naruto could barely stand on his own, let alone support him as well, and they sank to the floor together.

Sobs tore out of him as he wrapped both arms tightly around the blond, forgetting that he still held the revolver and that Naruto�s stomach was sensitive.

All he knew was the bony shoulder that did not leave him, the warm chest that did not care about his father, and that the form that he so desperately held on to, was holding him back.

The blonde�s warmth surrounding him. Intoxicating him. Not letting him move away as the gun was removed from his hand or when a needle was pressed into his skin.

He welcomed the sedative and greeted the darkness, armed with a blond moron who would not let go of him and who he in return refused to let go of either.

Opening his once again vibrant blue eyes and feeling the weight of Sasuke�s arm across his chest, Naruto closed his eyes and drifted back in to the world of not quite awake. Just laying on the bed and basking in the warmth of the raven haired teen laying next to him, and hearing the breathing machine he was still hooked up to and the soft snores of Sasuke. The pale hand on his chest twitched, then grabbed him tightly as Sasuke whimpered in his sleep, making the blond smile around the tubes.

The bastard just used his chest as a prop for his sore shoulder when he slept. At least that�s what he claimed.

For the un-caring, cold exterior of the other teen had snapped right back into place after his break down. It was like they were back in school sometimes; before they had the understanding and Sasuke thought he was on the same level as a street bum.

The harsh words and the snide, condescending way he talked to every one, was bothersome and hurtful. Naruto knew that it was Sasuke�s way of responding to what had happened when being told that his father was a rapist. That his family was nothing but cowards and afraid of the consequences of standing up.

It was still not all that great to be around a mad and moody Uchiha, venting out his anger with words for once. The hospital had been all for sending him to a state run, mental care facility, and Jiraiya had to pull some major strings to keep Sasuke out of it. Although there was one stipulation. At the next sign of self inflicted harm, the raven haired teen would have no choice but be sent away.

So for once, the bastard was talking. Insulting every one that came into the room. He had made four nurse�s run crying from the room so far and had scared away the social worker that was trying to place them in foster homes. Real ones. Sasuke had been fine, until she had said that they would be going to different homes. That it was hard enough finding homes willing to take in one teen, let alone two wounded ones. Then the raven haired teen started going off on the woman, calling her a whore and tons of other things.

The two police men that were posted in the hall until the trial to convict the members of the A club, had to pull him away from the poor woman to get him out of her face and to stop yelling at her.

Naruto would have helped back the hostile Uchiha off, but he could not talk with the tubes down his throat. A breathing tube and a feeding tube was put in as soon as Sasuke had been sedated after trying to shoot himself. The blond was confined to the bed and the days wore on. Still, the doctors did not want to remove the tubes because he had bronchitis that refused to be killed off with the antibiotics.

The breathing tube was not that bad. It was the feeding tube that was a direct line to his stomach that bothered him mostly.

Every three hours a nurse would come in and pour a blended mix of something down his throat, whether he was asleep or not, trying to get his weight up. It was working at least. Sasuke said that he was starting to look more like himself again.

Of course since he was confined to the bed they had to put a catheter in as well, because he could not jump up and run to the bathroom. He hated that thing. There so he had to pee in the bed while Sasuke slept next to him.

There was a groan and the sleeping dark haired teen pulled himself just a tad closer to the blond.

Sasuke had said that he was only sleeping in the same bed as him so he could use him to prop his arm up. It might have been true, but Naruto also knew that the raven haired teen would not sleep unless he was in the same bed as him. It would start out with him being at arms length, but slowly, the last Uchiha would gravitate closer, until he was practicably cuddling with the blond. Which of course pissed Sasuke off to no end, because the pale teen was a cold, calloused bastard that did not cuddle, and waking up entwined with Naruto made it hard to keep on believing that.

Sasuke flinched in his sleep and leaned forward so that his forehead was against the blonde�s shoulder, seeking comfort in the presence of the other teen.

Naruto opened his eyes and looked over at the raven haired teen lying next to him. Sasuke wanted every one to think that he was strong, unaffected, and uncaring. Most of the time his act worked. But not when he was asleep.

Sasuke would whimper and groan, flinch and shutter, whisper frantic �no�s�, and hold on tightly to Naruto. He did not mind so much. It was kinda nice to see that Sasuke found comfort in his presence as much as he was comforted by him.

Sighing, Naruto closed his eyes and scooted over the last few inches so that his side was pressed to Sasuke�s chest. The raven haired teen was going to end up pressed against him anyway, so why delay the inevitable.

It had felt awkward at first, having the raven haired teen cling to him in his sleep. But it had quickly turned into something else. He liked feeling all protective and in control for once. He liked the way Sasuke would make a small, unconscious noise, when he ran his hand through his midnight hair when he was asleep and unable to protest the action. He liked the fact that Sasuke trusted him enough the let go of all his reservations and inhibitions and climb in to bed next to him, trusting him to keep him from the demons that plagued his dreams.

Slowly, and tan hand drifted up and covered the pale one resting on his chest, feeling the cooler flesh of the pale teen against his sweaty palm.

He liked protecting Sasuke. He cherished being near him and feeling the pale body clutch him, seeking his warmth for comfort.

Sasuke shifted again, and Naruto could feel the bandage that covered the gash from the bullet that had grazed the dark eyed teens forehead, against his chin.

Freezing, he hoped that Sasuke would not wake up to find him holding his hand, or cuddling him. He did not know how Sasuke would react.

The blond eye lashes shot open as a wet tongue, followed by warm lips, traced his collar bone.

His pulse sped up as he felt the gentle sucking on his tender flesh of his neck and felt the cast covered hand trying to dip under his shoulders to hold him better.

This was��. was not what he thought it should feel like.

He knew it was Sasuke. Was glad it was Sasuke. But there was a part of him that was screaming at the top of it�s imaginary lungs to get the hell out of there. Too many times he had been touched like this, and had it turn into something that hurt.

He tried pulling his hand away, only to have the other teen grab it and hold it to his thinly covered chest.

It was not a rough, demanding grip, forcing his hand to stay there. But a twining of their fingers. Still, Naruto tried to jerk it back away from Sasuke.

He did not like this. He was unable to talk, unable to get up, and now his arm that did not have an IV in it was no longer able to move. The hot, pink tongue, circled his ear lobe then ran along his jaw line when he shuttered in fear, making Sasuke stop and look in to his scared blue eyes.

Lurching away from the Uchiha, he ripped his hand out of the pale teens grasp and pushed Sasuke away. Heart racing, and shaking slightly, he held the raven haired teen out at arms length.

Sasuke could have easily knocked the hand that was pushing him away, or held it down or anything, but all he did was sit up and look at him with a strangely confused and hurt look on his face, twisting around as there was a knock at the door.

The door to the room opened and Tsunade walked in with some shopping bags in her arms. The filmy plastic rustled as she set most of the bags down. Letting his arm drop from Sasuke and sliding it under the covers, Tsunade fussed about the room, and Sasuke silently turned to sit at the edge of the bed with his back to him.

The blond felt a flush of embarrassment from his reaction of panicking to Sasuke�s advances. He had not meant for it to happen like that. But that surge of self protection coupled with the fact he was practicably helpless. It made him not care that it was Sasuke trying to give him a hickey, and just tried to get it to stop before it led to something else.

Tsunade grabbed the rolling table from the far wall and placed it next to the bed. The large breasted principle had been showing up more and more over the past week. She and Jiraiya were their most frequent visitors. The buxom woman would bring Sasuke something to eat that was not hospital food at least once a day and checked to make sure that he was getting all the right medications. She always talked to him as Sasuke ate, and his trust in the woman had grown immensely. Also, she was a contact for the girls because they were getting swamped with school work and dating each other, not having enough time to stop by every day.

�Here you go, Naruto. cards from Sakura and Hinata.�

The blond woman handed him a set of pink and purple envelopes that was sure to contain yet another set of �Get Well� cards. Smiling around the tubes down his throat, he opened and read them, setting them next to the previous days set on the night stand and feeling the cool hospital air against his moistened neck and ear.

Tsunade pulled a chair over to the table she had just positioned and motioned for Sasuke to sit in it. The raven haired teen grudgingly got off the bed as the woman pulled out a to-go package from an Outback steakhouse.

Then to his surprise, another one.

�The nurse should be here soon to remove the tubes, and I thought that you might like a steak to be your first decent meal. They went light on the spices, so it should not upset your stomach too much.�

As if on cue, a nurse that Sasuke had not heckled or harassed yet, stepped in, and Tsunade glared at the pale teen to keep him from saying anything. The nurse said a few things to him then proceeded to remove the tubes that had been down his throat for the better part of a week.

Coughing and hacking as the tubes came out, Tsunade patted his back as he took in his first unaided breath in a long time. His lips were chapped and he had a cotton mouth, but his lungs pulled air into his body like they were supposed to. The nurse did a few tests, looking at his throat and testing his lung capacity before smiling and saying that the tubes were going to stay out. Naruto tried to say something to her, but all that came out was a unrecognizable croak. Tsunade grabbed a glass of water and he downed it in a single gulp, inwardly relieved when his stomach did not reject the fluid and he managed a few hoarse words of thanks.

The nurse nodded, then nearly made him jump out of the bed when she pulled not only the covers back, but the front of his hospital smock as well.

Grabbing the covers from the woman and pulling them quickly back over himself, he felt the buxom blonde grab his shoulders and whisper in his ear that the catheter was going to come out as well, unless of course he wanted to keep it.

Managing a very hoarse �no, get it off me�, he gritted his teeth and tensed every muscle in his small body, as the nurse pulled the blankets back and reached between his legs and removed the annoying tube, only relaxing when he felt the covers be placed back over him.

Taking a few deep breathes to calm himself down, the nurse put the tubes in a bag to be sent off to be destroyed.

No longer confined to the bed, the blond slid off the side and had to catch himself before he fell to the floor. Tsunade chuckled as she helped him sit on the edge of the mattress.

�Baby steps, Naruto. Eat first, try to run a marathon tomorrow.�

Tsunade smiled at him as she settled the to-go bag on the bed aside him. Naruto opened the Styrofoam carton up and gazed at the still hot steak. The scent of the gilled meat made his mouth water.

He never really had steak before because they were too expensive. But that did not stop him from grabbing a fork and starting to eat the delectable cuts of meat.

The buxom principle sat next to him on the bed and watched him eat, making him feel self conscious as the fork, laden with a chunk of steaming meat, drifted up to his lips.

The woman was acting kinda odd. Quieter than normal, and she did not pester Sasuke to brush his hair or to get out of the bed when she first stepped in or anything. She was the only one that Sasuke would not heckle, and she normally took full advantage of it. Setting the container down, Naruto looked over the blond woman sitting next to him.

There was something different about her today. Usually she stopped by after work, so her clothes would be rumpled and her hair frizzy from the stress of dealing with the kids at school. But today she looked all prim and proper with nothing out of place. If anything, she looked a little more dressed up.

Looking her over again, he stopped at her hands. She was wearing a ring. An engagement ring.

A big one.

She followed his line of sight and lifted her hand so he could get a better look at the large rock on her finger.

�Jiraiya finally asked?�

His voice was still scratchy, but was clearing up.

�About fifteen years late, but yes. We plan on getting married over Christmas break and then adopt a child.�

His scarred face lit up, almost knocking the container with his steak over in his enthusiasm.

�I know some good ones. Kids I mean. Kids that you would love and they really deserve a good home and-�

Laughing, she put a finger to his lips to quite the outburst.

�I already have a good kid picked out. So what do you say? Do you want to come live with me and Jiraiya?�

�Me?�

Naruto had given up on being adopted when he was ten. He was too loud and abrasive. Too much for a new parent to care for. By then, he did not want parents anyway. He had seen countless kids dropped off at the front entrance of the orphanage by their parents for countless reasons.

The moms and the dads too caught up in their own problems to see that their kids also knew that the electric bill were not paid and that mommy was going to jail. That they were not wanted any more. The worst ones were the ones that did not even say why they were being left at the orphanage, like him.

He never knew why his mother left him. Just that he had thought it was his fault.

When he was 10, he had snuck out of the dormitories at night and read his file. The file stated that his mother had left the hospital right after he was born; naming him, then leaving.

He had never been wanted or needed, and that was ok. He did not want to be wanted by her.

He could do better on his own with no worries about what his mom might think or what his dad would do if he stayed out too late. It was then, that he decided to find a way to get out of the orphanage and live on his own.

He had not even thought about finding the woman that had left him hours after birth, rather that he could be strong without her. Without anybody for that matter.

He was going to be the mayor. He was going to go to the good schools and work hard and be somebody. The entire city was going to look up to him and respect him for what he did and not for who his parents were.

That was his mantra. He did not need parents. He could make it on his own.

But the offer was tempting.

Very tempting.

Even though he had spent so much time convincing himself that he did not need anybody, he still wanted someone there for him. Someone that would care about him and like him even if he never was elected mayor. To live in a house and have to put up with their little habits that pissed him off, and have them deal with his.

No matter how many times he said he did not need anyone, he still wanted a family.

Noticing how quiet the room was and how Tsunade was looking at him with tears in her brown eyes, he nodded.

Independence was great until you needed someone there for you.

�I�d like to go live with you.�

The tears in her large eyes fell like crystals down her face as she wrapped her arms around his thin form gently, still not sure how much he would want to be touched.

Embarrassed to have her hugging him, Naruto flushed and looked away, spotting Sasuke glaring at him.

Sasuke. What about Sasuke?

Where would he go?

He shifted, getting the happily weeping woman to stop hugging him.

�Can Sasuke come live with us too?�

A flash of confusion flashed across her face, but before she could speak, the frozen voice of Sasuke cut like a knife through the air.

�I�m going to go live with Martha until I can be emancipated.�

The icy voice got on his nerves, along with the anger that this was probably decided a while ago by the Uchiha.

�When did you decide this, asshole? Where you just going to let me think you were going back to the orphanage?�

Naruto was pissed now. He had nothing better to do in bed for the passed week, so he had wracked his brain to think of ways to get both of them to not have to go back to the orphanage. That bastard had gone and made plans, not even telling him so that he was still worried.

�Stupid, arrogant, jerk.�

Sasuke twisted around so that he was facing the blond, sneering at Naruto.

�Why the fuck would you care?�

�Why the hell wouldn�t I? Stop brooding for once and see that the people around you do give a damn about you, you prick.�

That made the reborn ice pricks eyebrows go up. Naruto had been waiting all week to knock some sense in the brooding and angsty teen. Unfortunately, Tsunade stepped in and handed him one of the bags that she had brought in with her.
He jerked on the plastic bag, ripping it as he opened it and making clothes fall on to his lap. They were name brand jeans and shirts in all of his favorite colors. All new and all for him.

Opening his mouth a few times and closing it, he picked up a orange and blue outfit, looking over the garments then over to Tsunade.

�Well, since you don�t have anything but what you have on, I went and picked up some clothes for you. You like them, right?�

He nodded silently. The clothes were worth more than he had been allotted to use as food money in a month. She had just spent a small fortune on him, not even knowing if he was going to live with her.

�Good. I have to go talk to child services about adopting you. They�re interviewing Jiraiya now. And if all goes well, you can come home with us as soon as you are released from the hospital.�

Home. She said home. That word alone made a lump grow in his throat.

He was going to have a home. A real one.

Tsunade stood up and kissed him on the forehead before stepping out of the room. Closing the door, but opening right after, she handed Sasuke an envelope she had forgotten to give him.

The snide bastard took it from her and she closed the door behind her.

Naruto was still in a state of shock. He was going to have a home.

A real bona fide home.

She and Jiraiya knew everything that had been done to him, and still wanted him to live with them. Smiling so wide it pulled on the scars on his cheeks, the blond teen grabbed some of the clothes that were just given to him, rustling around in the other bags until he found a pack of under shorts and socks.

Holding tightly to his soft bundle, he stood up and wobbled, but stayed standing. Then hobbled over to the small bathroom to put them on.

As he was closing the door, icy voice of Sasuke, once again, cut though the air.

�It�s OKAY if you don�t like me.�

Looking at the teen still sitting in the chair with a half eaten steak in front of him, the blond could see the frown on Sasuke�s face with the same hurt look from when he pushed him away.

What was he supposed to say to him. That he really rather liked what he was doing, but that he was scared of being touched like that when defenseless?

Slowly, he closed the door and set the clothes on the sink.

He really did like Sasuke. And if he pictured himself making out with any one, it was Sasuke. It was just�� just the whole entire everything.

Gay was not something he thought he was. But Sasuke was someone he would be willing to find out with.

Liking that answer, he started to get dressed, mulling over the new questions his emotions were creating.

Sasuke saw the door close behind the silent Naruto and punched the arm of the chair. Getting up, he ran his hand through his black hair as he paced the small hospital room.

It had taken the entire week of sleeping next to the blond to realize that he liked it. He was never this comfortable around girls or really that interested in them.

Naruto made him feel safe and protected as he slept next to him. The raven haired teen doubted any girl could do that. Make him feel so wanted and needed and��and Naruto was the only one that he did not feel the need to pretend everything was alright with him.

Despite everything, he could not just restart the way he grew up. He still felt this odd need to not show any weakness, any emotion, good or bad. He still felt that he had to be perfect and stand up to the Uchiha name. Be a leader, in control of himself and everything else around him.

Naruto never liked that. He never made it feel like that was what is expected of him.

Holding on to Naruto after he had nearly shot himself made him realize how much he liked not having to be in control all the time. It was a relief to let someone else be in charge of him, not having to be perfect all the time.

And Naruto did not make it feel like he was cheating by stepping back. It had felt right to hand control over to him. Holding on to the blond had felt right, and being held in return had felt even better.

Feeling Naruto press himself against him and hold his hand made him think that he liked it to. That he liked him in return.

But the blond had shuttered and pushed him away.

He was wrong. Naruto did not like him.

Growling to himself, the raven haired teen snatched up the envelope that Tsunade had handed him before she stepped out. He was happy that Naruto was finally going to have a home and parents. He had not told him about agreeing to stay with Martha because he did not want to go if Naruto had to go back to the orphanage. He would have gone back with him.

Ripping the envelope open and pulling the card out, a photo fluttered out and fell to the floor. Just as he was starting to bend over and pick it up, he noticed the handwriting on the white envelope as his brothers.

All the emotions and thoughts about the blond in the bathroom stopped as he looked at the plain white envelope addressed to the hospital room he was in.

Forgetting about the photo on the floor, he flipped it open and read the card that was nearly filled with his brothers recognizable scrawl.

Sasuke,

I wanted you to hate me. If you hated me, then you would never look deeper into our families past and find out. I never wanted you to know about the A club. I never wanted you to feel the shame and humiliation that I felt at our fathers hand.
But you did.

I apologize for not seeing that the demented old snake would do anything to get to you. I thought by killing them he would back off. But he just saw it as an opportunity to get you with no strings attached.

He hurt you, and if I could, I would kill him a thousand more times for what he did.

As for the family, I had to do something. I could not just sit back and watch like they wanted. They had paid off the collage doctor to not report the bruises I came in with, and every time I tried to report it, they had the case dismissed before it was ever started.

Even if I ran away with you, they would have found a way to get us back.
I am going to die from what could have be treated because of their fear of the secret getting out. My life was already forfeited to hide their shame, and nothing is worth having you forfeit yours.

Family was not worth seeing you chained on stage and raped, knowing I could have done something to stop it.

Nothing was worth it.

I have always acted the part of a good big brother and what good big brother would stand by and let his little brother be hurt like that? I enjoyed every minute of time spent with you, and I know you will be the Uchiha every one will look up to.

Itachi

Sasuke had to close his eyes for a second and allow a shaky breath to keep himself from crying. Itachi had protected him and was the person he had always looked up to. His big brother had not thought that he was not worth a bullet, but that he was worth more to him than a twisted family.

Steadying his ragged breathing, he bent over and grabbed the photo from the floor that had landed picture side down. Flipping it over, he had to sit on the bed to keep from falling to the floor.

It was from when he had broken his arm and Itachi picked him up from the hospital and spent the weekend with him. They had gone to the mall to get some long sleeved shirts that would fit over the cast and there had been a guy with a monkey charging 5 dollars to have your picture taken with it. He had weaseled and wined until Itachi called him foolish and gave him the money. Itachi was always calling him foolish, but he always smiled when he did.

The monkey did not like him though and would not stay close enough to him to get the shot, so his big brother wrangled the furry ape and crouched next to him to get the picture.

Itachi held the monkey and made a monkey face as Sasuke stood next to him, reaching up to give him bunny ears and laughing at his brothers silly face.

Just remembering it made him let out a shaky laugh, because the ape had decided to pick Itachi�s nose and eat it right after.

Flipping the picture over, an address to a hospice in Switzerland was written on the back.

Itachi had written where he was going to spend the rest of his life at. However long that was.

He was still staring at the address as the bathroom door opened.

Naruto stepped out, wearing some loose fitting jeans with a white shirt and a pattered orange button up shirt over it.

He looked good, for a skinny guy wearing an orange shirt.

Sasuke silently tucked the photo into the card before placing it back into its envelope. He schooled his face into the emotionless fa�ade as Naruto walked up to him.

The blond rubbed his hand nervously on the still new and stiff fabric of his pants before closing the gap between them and pressing his lips to Sasuke�s.

It was just a quick little peck before leaning back and looking at the shock on the pale face.

Sasuke tentatively reached out and grabbed the orange shirt, the shocked _expression turning into a slight smile.

�Is that the best you can do, dead last.�

Naruto huffed and pressed hid lips against Sasuke�s again.

The obsidian eyed teen could feel the warmth from the chapped lips on his own and the pressure from the tongue asking to be let in. A warm tan hand cupped the side of his face as the other grabbed his arm for balance.

Opening his mouth and allowing Naruto�s tongue in, he felt the appendage against the roof of his mouth as he pulled the smaller teen closer to him. A heady feeling rushed over him as Naruto�s lips crashed against his own, their tongues colliding. There was a slight scrape of teeth on his lip as he gave in and permitted Naruto to explore his mouth as he sucked on the invading tongue.

The blond was gently pushing him back with the force of the kiss and enjoyed the feeling of having Naruto in charge of him again. Holding on to the warm back with his cast covered hand and running the other through the blond hair, he felt the bed springs on either side of his legs depress as Naruto climbed on to the bed to straddle his hips, continuing to kiss him.

He let himself fall back, wincing as his tender backside touched the bed.

Naruto pulled away at his wince and he made a small whimpering sound as the tongue caressing his mouth, retreated. He looked up into blue eyes, panting as a red tint covered Naruto�s face. The blushing blond rolled aside to sit next to him on the bed and helped him off his still healing back.

Naruto was panting as well, and when he finally stopped, he spoke-

�I do like you, Sasuke. But it might take some time to get used to being touched like that.�

Smiling his little cock sure smile, Sasuke wrapped one arm around the blonde�s shoulders and whispered in to his ear.

�Don�t worry. I�ll make sure you have plenty of opportunity to practice.�

That�s it. It�s done. I went with the happy ending for all the angst I put you through.

You know the odd thing is that this story started out as a PWP. It was never going to go past three chapters and basically go like this; Sasuke and Naruto go to school together and fight a lot. Naruto gets sick and Sasuke has to take him his school work. Sasuke finds Naruto in deplorable living conditions and takes the sick blond home with him. Somehow Naruto gets dirty on the way there and Sasuke has to give him a bath. Smut ensues.

But I have a horrible plot bunny problem, they just wont leave me alone. Heck, my smut turned into shonen ai for the sake of plot.

Personally, I blame episode 7 of CSI. After watching it, I was like, holy crap that sounds like the Uchiha tragedy.� and it would not leave me alone. The episode is called Blood drops and it has the CSI team finding out that the father was molesting the littlest girl after the older girl has her boyfriend kill them all. Not just the perverted father but all of them because they knew and did not stop him from molesting her and then when he went after her daughter. When she says this Gill makes the oddest face. She had them all killed. Mom, dad two brothers because they let it happen.

Look familiar?

Well, all but the daughter part.

Killing off the entire family to protect one, seemed just like the Uchiha�s.

And I know this is kinda stupid, but when the ship I was on pulled in to Thailand, we were warned that there was a group roaming around, kidnapping and videotaping themselves raping people then posting it to the Internet on a fetish site. That they really like American navy because we get stupid drunk and defenseless.

The world is a messed up place.

But it worked in to the story.

Also, it was going to be a few chapters longer, involving them going to a special camp for abused kids and having Garaa be there as well. Sasuke would not see Garaa as a contender for Narutos feelings but rather go to him for pointers on sex because he is a virgin and wants to be good for Naruto. Yes, Sasuke is a bottom. Some other people at the camp take advantage of Sasuke�s guilt and use it to get him in the sack, and Garaa kicks there ass for it. But that�s all I could come up with and it would have been a shitty ending. So I�d rather stop it here then keep it going to putter off into nothing.

I might write it as a sequel if I can think up a good ending.

Trekiael- I hope I cleared up the points you brought up and that when I said they looked alike I meant that they had the same eyes, a vague reference to sharingan.

Now I�m off to go work on �Broken� which I have been neglecting.
