Fugaku called Itachi into his office at the Police Headquarters, and had him sit down. It was Friday afternoon, and he knew that Koroshi would be coming to spend the weekend with them again this weekend. He needed to talk to Itachi before that.
"What did you need to see me about, father?" Itachi asked.
"I know what you did."
Itachi stayed calm and cool on the outside, but on the inside he felt like he was on fire. 'Could Sasuke have....?' He thought. "What do you mean, father?" Itachi replied.
Fugaku huffed. "You know exactly as to what I am referring, Itachi. You gave Koroshi the Uchiha name, without my permission, and you even went so far as to give her a necklace and a promise ring with our crest! That is taking it too far. You know that its against our laws to be with someone outside of Uchiha blood. You will stop this at once. Are we clear?"
"What would you say if she were already of Uchiha blood?" Itachi asked.
Fugaku slammed his hand down on the table. "There is no way. Only a powerful person from the leading family of the Uchiha clan can--" He cut himself off, getting what Itachi was implying. "You....you couldn't have known how to do the blood ceremony yourself. There are complicated hand signs......rules you have to follow.......it is only passed down to the leader of the clan! You couldn't possibly know the technique."
"Or perhaps I am just more skilled than you care to admit. Believe what you want, father." Itachi said, completely unphased.
"Alright then. We will just see. If you have done the ceremony already, then I will see the mark above her heart. If there is no mark over her heart or your heart, then I will know you are lying and you will never see that girl again. And the scars can't be fresh; you can't go straight and do it after you leave here. I will know from the look of the scars. Are we agreed? Or are you too afraid to make that sort of bet?" Fugaku challenged.
A woman came in and told Itachi that the Hokage was summoning for him.
Itachi was afraid, but he showed no emotion. "Alright, father. We are agreed. Now, if you'll excuse me, the Hokage wants to see me." He left his father's office, and went to the Hokage as fast as he could. He suddenly had an idea, but it would be tricky.
Itachi reached the Hokage's office, and the Hokage turned to him, a grim look on his face. "Ah, Itachi. Just the ANBU member that I wanted to see. I have heard already of your friend, Koroshi, and I have met her. I am aware that all who she takes turns staying with are taking turns training her. How is she coming along?"
"She is doing very well so far, Hokage-sama. She is extremely talented. I would like to recommend her for chunin by the time she turns twelve, at the most. Jonin by the time she is thirteen. Maybe before then. I think it would be possible for her to become ANBU within the next year."
The Hokage choked on his drink. "You are serious, Itachi? You are the youngest member to ever be part of ANBU, or to graduate the academy and get to Jonin level at your age. You truly believe that she is that talented?" The Hokage asked, and Itachi nodded. "I will see for myself then, how talented this girl is, if even a genius shinobi like you is already recommending her for chunin or higher rank."
"Hokage-sama, I have a favor to ask of you."
"What is it, Itachi?"
"Could you please find enough work to keep my father busy until morning? There is something that I must take care of immediately. There is some.....intel that I need to gather, and I need him to be out for that time. Could you possibly keep him away for at the very least six hours?"
The Hokage looked grim, but he nodded. Itachi was a spy for the Hokage into the Uchiha clan. If there was important intel he needed to gather while his father was out, then he would have Fugaku work until the intel was gathered. "Let me know when you are finished, and I will send him back home. Good luck, Itachi. The future of this village may depend on the intel you find."
Itachi nodded.
Before he could leave, the Hokage stopped him. "I saw the Uchiha crest on Koroshi, Itachi. I know of your clan's laws. Don't get into trouble, Itachi. I, of course, am not worried about how you are with, I know you will make the right decision....but your clan is very strict about that. Don't get into a lot of trouble."
"Thank you, Hokage-sama." Itachi replied, and then he left to go pick up Koroshi from Kakashi's.

There was a knock on the door, and Kakashi answered. "Itachi, good to see you again. Koroshi is on her way, just a moment."
Koroshi chose that moment to come in the room, bags in hand. "Itachi-sama!" She smiled, but Itachi just couldn't smile right now. He had to think about what he was fixing to have to do. He had told his father the truth about one thing--he had taken already learned how to do the ceremony. The ceremony itself took about an three, and then the blood part of the ceremony took about another hour. Then, the next phase of his plan would come into action. He had to hurry.
Itachi took Koroshi's bags. "We don't have any time to lose, Koroshi-chan. There is something I would like to show you. I have a special surprise for you."
"Oh, well, Okay then! Thank you again, Kakashi-san!"
"Not a problem, Koroshi-chan. I will see you again soon." Kakashi said, finding it odd that Itachi was in such a hurry. Itachi wasn't usually one to rush so much. He normally stayed and talked for a minute or two, but he was in a rush to leave. But, maybe his surprise was something that wouldn't last very long if they lingered? Well, it wasn't any of his business.
Koroshi and Itachi walked quickly, and Koroshi wondered what the surprise could be.
Itachi paused when they reached the Uchiha estate. "Wait here." Itachi said. He took her bags and went into her room through her window. Then, he went down the stairs and saw his mother working in the kitchen. "Is father home?"
"Hm? No, he isn't. He got some orders from the Hokage and he will probably be busy until late tonight or possibly even in the morning, depending on how long the tasks take. He is assigning more and more tasks as your father finishes the ones he's already been given. They seem very busy today."
"Alright. Well, I am going to take Koroshi to the park, and then we are going to go train. She said she wanted to see some other children today."
"Alright, but don't be out too late."
Itachi made it back to Koroshi, and he took her deep into the forest.
"Where are we going, Itachi-sama?"
Itachi could hear slight hesitation in her voice, and he stopped them once they had reached a far enough distance. "Do you trust me, Koroshi?"
"Trust you? Of course I do, Itachi-sama. Why would you even ask that?"
"I want you to make sure you truly trust me, Koroshi, and that you truly wish to be with me."
"Yes, I do."
"Then we need to take action, and quickly." Itachi said, and he reached into his pouch and brought out a kunai knife.
Koroshi, shocked, backed away for a moment. "Itachi-sama...?"
"I am not going to harm you intentionally, Koroshi. Believe me. Do you trust me?"
Koroshi gulped, but nodded. Itachi shook his head, and got right up at Koroshi, and looked her dead in the eyes, sharingan activated.
"Do you trust me, even with your very life, Koroshi Uchiha?" Itachi dead-panned.
Koroshi was afraid. But she trusted him. Even with her very life. She nodded. "Yes, Itachi."
Itachi nodded. "Good. Now, lay down here."
