The days with Itachi seemed to fly by. The three of them had a surprisingly good time, going out for dinner and hanging out in Sasuke’s apartment. It was fun, but it passed all too quickly. Before Naruto knew it, two weeks had passed. They had honestly been the best weeks of his life. No more scrounging for food, or somewhere to sleep. He had a bed that he shared with Sasuke, and every day seemed better than the next.

A lazy Friday afternoon found Naruto lounging around on the couch, flipping through the channels on the TV. With nothing planned, he was more than happy to lay there, in nothing more than a pair of sleep pants that rode low on his hips. Since he’d been eating normally – thanks to Sasuke – his body had more definition to it and he looked to be in much better health overall.

The front door opened and Sasuke stepped through the threshold looking a bit tired but overall content. It didn’t take them long to get to the restaurant. The building was lit up perfectly in the middle of the shopping district, the lights reflecting off a small pond and waterfall that was built in front of the building. It was already dark outside, making the lights even more impressive.

Naruto glanced around in awe, a silly smile on his face as he eyed the restaurant. It didn’t look overly expensive, but it was on the upscale-side. “Wow, it looks nice,” he murmured as they approached.

The inside was even nicer. The booths were made of black leather and the tables made of dark wood. The lighting was dim, most of it coming from candles on each table. It was overly romantic, and it made his chest ache that Sasuke had brought him there.

The hostess showed them to their reserved table – which just happened to be the best in the restaurant. It was situated in front of the floor to ceiling windows, right beside the pond. From inside, you could even see the koi fishes swimming around in it. “It’s… It’s beautiful, S’uke. I’ve never been anywhere like this before.”

Sasuke smiled as they sat down, the menus presented to them and the waitress stating she’d be back in a moment to take their drink orders.

“I thought you’d like it. I’ve always wanted to come here but I’ve never had anyone I’d really wanted to take... well, until now that is.”

“Well, I’m glad I’m worthy enough to be taken here on a date with you,” Naruto grinned, nudging Sasuke playfully beneath the table. He started to look through the menu, deciding what he wanted to eat. The problem was, everything looked good. But he eventually decided on the fillet Mignon, thinking he should try something classy, since he was in a classy place.

“Neh, S’uke? You think I can get away with having a drink?” he asked, his eyes sparkling. He didn’t really hold any hopes that it would work, though.

Frowning a bit, Sasuke thought about it. He could try to get away with it but he had heard that this place was pretty strict with ID’s.

“I’ll tell you what... when we get home we’ll have some wine ok? I have dessert back at the house for us anyway.” he smirked at that, having something very special planned for after dinner.

“Deal!” Naruto said immediately, beaming brightly as the waitress returned. He wasn’t exactly surprised when her attention went right to Sasuke, her smile a little too bright. She ignored him completely. He knew he’d have to get used to that. No women were going to look at him when he was with the Uchiha. Not that he really wanted them to.

Naruto wasn’t either. He shrugged, and sat back in the booth. It wasn’t long before the waitress brought their drinks.

Naruto couldn’t help but smirk at the pout on her face as the waitress walked away, leaving them alone. He felt a little bad for her. She had been shot down by two guys.

“Poor thing,” he snickered, reaching across the table to grab Sasuke’s hand. Only, halfway there, he pulled back. He didn’t know how Sasuke felt about stuff like that in public, yet, and he didn’t want to embarrass him or anything.

I was being stupid, I guess.”

“Don’t feel stupid. I’m flattered that you care so much about my feelings.” lifting the hand, Sasuke kissed Naruto’s knuckles before letting the hand go so he could sip his water.

Their food arrived about fifteen minutes later, the waitress finally having given up on the both of them but was still pleasant.

The food was excellent and Sasuke had to file the place in his memory for later. They were definitely going out to that place again.

Naruto dug into his food happily. It was delicious. He stopped every now and then to sip his drink, and when finished set the glass aside so it could be refilled. He chatted constantly with Sasuke, about everything and nothing at all. It was the first and only date he’d been on, but he couldn’t think of anything better at that moment.

Sasuke paused in his meal for a moment and looked at the blonde, trying to decide if it was the right time to bring up what was on his mind. Figuring it would be better to get it out of the way now rather than later, he cleared his throat to prepare himself.

“Um... I wanted to ask you something...I have a uh... dinner event in about a month. It’s a charity thing that I’m apart of and I was wondering if... you wanted to be my date?” Sasuke looked down at his food, his confidence throughout the whole night almost gone just by that one question.

“Are you kidding me?” Naruto asked, studying the older man for a moment. “Sasuke, I’d love to go as your date. I’m actually a little surprised, and really honored that you’d want to take me. Of course I’ll go with you.”

Smiling, Sasuke shook his head a bit. “I’m sorry, I don’t know why I still get so nervous when asking you things like this. I guess it’s just all a part of me getting used to it. But I’m glad you want to go, you’re the only one I’d consider taking.”

“I hope I’m the only one you’d consider,” Naruto teased, reaching his foot over and rubbing it gently against Sasuke’s calf. “You’re gonna have to stop being nervous sometime, you know. Have I said no to you about anything so far?”

He smirked as he took a sip of his drink, and started eating again. “I’m hoping to make you my boyfriend. Like I’d ditch you on something like that. Either way, I want to go. Show up on your arm, while you’re wearing a sexy tux? Hell yeah.”

“Boyfriend huh? I like the sound of that.” They finished up their meal and headed for the exit after Sasuke paid for each of them, leaving a generous tip to the waitress, just to make her feel a bit better about the evening.

As they made their way home, Sasuke tried to steady his breathing, preparing himself for what he had planned for the night. The romantic side of him was just starting to emerge and he wasn’t finished yet.

Once the car had parked, Naruto climbed out and closed his door. Grabbing Sasuke’s hand, they walked into the building together and took the elevator up to their home. Inside, he kicked his shoes off and sighed, patting his full stomach.

“Thanks for the dinner, S’uke. I had a good time,” he smiled, wondering what else the raven had planned for him.

Grabbing Naruto around the waist, Sasuke gently kissed the boy, his lips lingering against the soft ones against his. He pulled back after only a moment with a smirk to his lips.

“Ready for dessert?” he asked, his voice a bit lower than normal, his anticipation was a bit overwhelming.

Naruto frowned softly, his eyes trailing over Sasuke’s face. The lower timbre had a shudder running through his body, but he didn’t quite understand what was going on. The Uchiha looked almost anxious… Was dessert that good?

“Um, what’s for dessert?” he asked carefully.

“It’s a bit cliché but I’m sure you’ll love it all the same.” Taking Naruto’s hand, Sasuke pulled the blonde into the kitchen and opened the fridge, pulling out a bowl of chocolate dipped strawberries. Handing the bowl to the teen, Sasuke grabbed a bottle of red wine and two glasses before heading toward the bedroom not looking back to see if the blonde was following.

“It’s not cliché to me, S’uke. You think I’ve ever had someone surprise me with chocolate dipped strawberries after an amazing date?” Naruto murmured, trailing behind Sasuke into the bedroom. He climbed up on the bed and settled down, taking the bowl from Sasuke so he didn’t have to balance everything. “I never would have pegged you for a romantic, Sasuke, but I like it.”

Sasuke placed the wine bottle on the bedside table as well as the glasses so he could turn on the free standing lamp next to the bed. Giving Naruto a quick kiss, he went to the door and closed it for no particular reason other than it made it seem a bit more private. He turned the main lights off so only the soft glow of the lamp remained as their light source. Uncorking the wine, Sasuke poured a bit into the two glasses and handed Naruto one before leaning forward and kissing the soft lips once more. “You really do make me feel special Naruto. Naruto sipped at his wine, grimacing a little at the harsh taste. It wasn’t his favorite, but it seemed appropriate in that moment. That’s enough for me… It’s more than I deserve. I’m just glad you decided to give us a chance, instead of completely blowing me off when I kissed you…”

He smiled and picked up one of the strawberries, holding it to Sasuke’s lips for him to taste. “You’re the only one who’s ever given a shit about me, Sasuke. I mean, I had Itachi, but still… I had nothing, and you gave me everything the night you asked me to move in with you.”

Taking a bit of the fruit, Sasuke had to admit that it was delicious. He usually wasn’t much for desserts but he could appreciate some nice dark chocolate with a tart fruit. Taking a sip of wine, he practically moaned at the combination of all three tastes and held up another for Naruto to try.
