Kakashi shifted in his spot on the couch, the dumb black haired idiot had passed out not too long ago, and now his creepy older brother was over to help Naruto wake him up, Kakashi sighed at all the noise, he just wanted to sleep, but with all the ruckus Kakashi knew he’d never get any silence, at least not until the damn raven haired man woke up
/Kakashi isn’t it exciting? /
/What? / Kakashi asked in a bored tone, it wasn’t that he was sick of Iruka, no he enjoyed the males company, he was just tired, and bored in general, those pills he was given by the vet were still working, he felt light headed
/There is gonna be a baby in the house soon/
/feh/ Iruka frowned at Kakashi, he was a little irritated that Kakashi was being rather rude about the subject, babies were good, Iruka had met a few babies on walks or when Naruto took him over to ten-ten’s place, she and Ino had adopted a baby girl a few years ago, and Iruka loved the child, she was so sweet and was always laughing and now would run after Iruka, babies were so cute! Like puppies, only less fur
/don’t need to be a jerk about it/ Kakashi let out a sigh, his eyes drooping
/let’s think of this realistically… I am a fighting dog… I have a short temper as you well know, it would take one tug on my ear while I am asleep and I could bite that kid, then I get killed, the most I gie myself is until just before that bundle of terror is born…. I’ll be gone/

/Naruto!? Seriously?! You think he’s gonna care about me? He has a fucking baby to take care of! He won’t give two shits about a worthless fighting dog… I’m as good as dead.../ Iruka’s back fur stood up on end, he began to growl softly, Naruto would never just sent Kakashi to his death, a baby may be in the picture now, but Kakashi was part of the family, Iruka knew Naruto would want Kakashi around

/How many dogs… Have I killed in the pit… Because their owners had a baby and they were too much work? Hundreds, did it stop me to know they were harmless house pets?! Their owners sold them off because they got in the way, nipped at the babies hand, pushed the baby over, I am no better than them, only difference is I can fight/ Iruka snapped, Naruto wasn’t like that, he was calm and understanding, he took Kakashi in even though the dog bit him over and over again, Naruto saved Iruka when the pup had been labeled a lost cause! And Kakashi dare tell him Naruto was no better then one of those careless humans?! Naruto loved his dogs! He would die for them! Iruka jumped on the couch grabbing a hold of Kakashi’s ear biting hard, he was so angry! He just wanted to bite Kakashi into submission, make the dog shut up! He didn’t understand! He would never understand, in a second Iruka found himself on the floor, Kakashi looming over his, his razor sharp fangs pressed against Iruka’s neck, the brown realized how close he was to death, he was literally on deaths door step, any sudden movements could mean his death, he’s made a mistake, he’d attacked a trained killer, Iruka lowered his ears in submission a soft whine escaping his throat, Kakashi’s eyes were wide and crazed, he was torn, all his instincts told him to kill the dog under him, rip his throat out and end his miserable existence, but something screamed at the back of his mind, this was Iruka, this dog never showed aggression before, Kakashi actually felt attracted to this dog, slowly Kakashi released Iruka’s neck his tail low, realizing he’d just attacked Iruka, didn’t hurt him, but he’d lost it, he’s snapped
“Kakashi!!” the silver dropped his eyes; the scene didn’t look good for him, he’d had the family pet pinned down, ready to kill him, hell Iruka had a small nick on his neck where Kakashi’s teeth had dug in, the dogs white and brown fur soaked the little bit of blood making it look far worse than it was
/See? / Kakashi muttered out before a muzzle was slipped over his mouth, he began to thrash and shake trying to get it off his face, Iruka watched in horror as Kakashi was pulled out of the house by Itachi, Iruka looked at Naruto in horror, why would Naruto allow Itachi to take Kakashi!? He didn’t do anything
“It’s ok Iruka, we’ll get you all fixed up… I’m sorry I let him in here… I thought he was doing so well”
/He is! It was my fault! Naruto please! / Iruka barked and whined at the boy, but his please went unheard, humans just can’t understand dogs

Kakashi walked along the hall of the shelter, the rows of dog kennels filled with three to five dogs, all of which barked happily seeing a human walking along, hoping he would stop to pet them or play, Kakashi snorted through the muzzle, he hated how stupid they all were, he was dragged to the back area, the kennels there were kept out of public eye, so people wouldn’t have to see the dogs that wouldn’t ever get out, Kakashi was lead to his own kennel, the muzzle was snapped off before he was roughly pushed in, he would have turned to bite the bastard holding him, but he was too exhausted, living this miserable life was becoming too much trouble, he had no idea how long he’d be in here for, days, weeks, months, years, Kakashi sighed softly laying down on the cot in the corner for him, he’s starve himself to death before it became that long, he had no need to live anymore, his ears drooped he closed his eyes letting out a shaky breath, he hated his life, He hated himself, he’d caused harm onto the only dog he’d ever come to care about, the world was a better place without him, Kakashi’s ears flicked lazily as he listened to dogs bark around him

Kakashi looked over at his food bowl, it had been three days, and he hadn’t eaten a bite since he’d arrived at the shelter, he’d seen Naruto come by once trying to coax him to eat, he couldn’t trust the blonde anymore, he just laid on his bed staring at the wall, it made his heart break to smell Iruka on the boy, but Kakashi knew he’d never seen the brown dog again, He’s never sleep near the beautiful brown dog, he’d never get a lick, a small blush crept across his nose, he missed Iruka, Kakashi laid his head down on his paws as he listened to the two men by his cage, one was the black haired man from the house duck butt head if Kakashi remembered correctly, and the other was the man who’d taken Kakashi out of this hell hole originally, the man with a million dogs, but yet terrified of him, Kakashi let out a bored yawn not really listening, until a name perked his interest
“Iruka hasn’t come back since last night; Naruto is out checking the parks again… I told him I’d stay here for the day in case someone brings him in as a stray… keep an eye on your place too ok Kiba? You know Iruka is like Naruto’s life”
“It’s not like Iruka to just up and vanish… You don’t suppose something happened to him do you?” Iruka was missing, and they had no idea where he could be, Iruka was a careless dog, he was probably off somewhere trying to help a homeless puppy in need, Kakashi chuckled lightly to himself, when a thought hit him, Iruka, Gaara, and Neji had all been targeted as bait dogs, and knowing his handler, they would be after those three again, Kakashi walked to the kennel door, looking at the latch, if he escaped, he could easily go to the ware house and check it out, if all was clear he’s just stumble back here and take punishment for escaping, Kakashi had to be sure Iruka wasn’t in danger, he had to be sure

Author notes: I am SO sorry for not updating yesterday! I had a loong day and had to work early, so I kinda just forgot! I will update three chapters today! and if I get at least TWO reviews I'll update the final chapter today as well ^^
