The early morning had a funny effect on people. Some took it as a sign they needed to get up and start their busy day. Gaara, who hadn't slept much dealing with Shiro the night before, was already in his office. With a hot cup of coffee, he was mulling over some paperwork to keep his mind settled. His concubine had been in and out of conscious, finally having to be given a sedative to stay asleep. To keep things under control, he had put the eye patch over the eye that grew back, in order not to be asked any questions about the matter.
For the Uzumaki household, early mornings usually meant getting the twins ready for school and cereal flying around, but for the adults alone in the house this summer, it was a comfortably lazy morning in bed. Still wrapped up around each other, their noses touched with tired smiles as Naruto and Sasuke acknowledged one another and eyes slipped back closed to go to sleep again. That was, until, the rather loud and abrupt knocking on the door. Groaning, Naruto kicked out of the covers, cursing as he searched for a pair of shorts to cover his bare ass. Sasuke stretched under the covers, still nude from the love they made the night before as well. "Who the Hell could that be?" Sasuke yawned, rubbing his eyes in a cutesy manner. Naruto had a feeling who it was and grabbed the spore sample from the dresser. "Wait here." Sasuke only scoffed, wiggling out of bed to find a kimono. Once it was draped over his bony frame, he followed his love to the front door. Opening it, Naruto gave a growl and pushed a hand out, the one that held the vial. "Here, now leave." Sasuke pushed Naruto to the side, until he was able to stand in front of his former...partner. "Jugo." "Sasuke." Grunting, Sasuke turned to go back into the house, while Naruto and Jugo shared an awkward moment in silence. "...So you two really are..." "Yes, we are." "Good...he needs you, you know." Jugo gave a quick smile, turning to leave the house with his sample. Naruto only gave a smile back, watching the man part from his porch before closing the door behind himself. Sighing in relief, Naruto's bare back pressed against the closed wooden door. Sasuke had moved to the stove, putting on the kettle for a quick cup of tea. He was obviously not happy to see his former comrade, and was reminded that Naruto had been hiding it from him. While brooding, Sasuke nearly squeaked when he was hug so tightly from behind. Naruto's hands easily slipped passed the kimono folds and continued to embrace the body. "I'm going back to bed." There was a gentle kiss to the back of Sasuke's neck as the warmth pulled away. Turning to watch Naruto actually go back to the bedroom, Sasuke thought it best that the tea waited. Turning off the flame to the stove, he followed, pulling off the kimono before going inside the room and closing the door. Breakfast for Akane and Kankuro was already underway. Akane sat on the floor in front of his small television, a piece of melon being chewed idly from his lips. Sitting next to him, Kankuro had bought himself a rice ball from the vending machine at the end of the street. Between the two of them were chilled canned drinks, green tea for Akane and iced coffee for Kankuro. The plastic wraps from the packed foods were laying about as they sat closely together, their backs being supported by the single twin bed in the one room apartment. Shifting his weight, Akane gave an embarrassing attempt to try to be natural in his snuggling, even though his face was stained with blush. The large green eyes continued to be locked on the television. Looking down, Kankuro smiled, an arm draping around the Prince. When Akane finally looked up to him, the man leaned down to kiss those poisonous pink lips he had grown mostly immune too. Admittedly, the toxins still tingled Kankuro's mouth, but not in an unpleasant way. He compared it to the tingling of mint, with a slightly sweet aftertaste. "You know, I could get use to this. Who needs to live in that noisy palace, all those people...I could live here with you, maybe get a job down at the store..." Rubbing his fuzzy chin, Kankuro was already contemplating his future as a middle aged man with his young, sexy housewife. Akane, however, just stared at him blankly. "You...want to live here? No." The fantasy bubble that Kankuro was already imagining, complete with three kids, a dog, and a goldfish, suddenly popped. "No? Why not? We love each other..." "I ...I don't! I like you...I mean...I...I might...But one doesn't have to do with the another!" Kankuro continued to pout as his boyfriend flustered about in another round of protest. "I'm not going to stay here forever, this is just an assignment, you know! I mean...I...I have to go back to my castle and my people..." "So....then don't? Stay here with me. Appoint a regent and you live with monks anyways..." Glaring, Akane only forced his way back to snuggled, eating another piece of fruit in frustration. Granted, there wasn't really a time that he absolutely had to return, but still. This wasn't his home. "Akane." "Huh?" The innocent turn of the face was met with a very forceful and passionate kiss. Moving away from the side, Kankuro repositioned himself to sit upon his knees in front of his lover. His mouth remained locked until both boys were breathless. Keeping his face close, the puppeteer looked his deep, dark eyes into the shined over green orbs. "Don't leave me. I love you." Panting, Akane stared back in shock before softening his gaze and looked away. "....Okay." Sighing in relief, Kankuro leaned over and rested his forehead against the prince's. "Thank you." The prince couldn't help, but smile as he looked back up. The lips met again, tongues mingling as the kissing continued with Kankuro smiling over the tingling sensations. It was lately that Shiro started to have a reoccurring nightmare. There was a young boy with brown hair locked in a cell, deep underground. It was a cell in a cell block, full with other kids, but each had their own cage. Slowly, over time, the noise from the other children disappeared, until the boy with the brown hair was the only one that was left. He never saw any of the other kids, just heard their screams and cries. The only other people he would see would be a man with long black hair, often followed by a man with silver hair and glasses. He couldn't remember their faces, as they always seemed to be covered with shadows. Soon, the man with the black hair stopped coming. The only one the young boy ever saw was the man with silver hair and glasses. He would open the cage door, grabbing his arm to inject him with some liquid. Sometimes it would burn, sometimes it would chill the boy to the bone. Sometimes he'd be sick in his cage, or in so much pain, he'd curl up in a corner and want to die. But no matter how much he cried, prayed, or screamed, the liquids would never kill him. Soon the boy was jealous of all the other kids, who he imagined died from their injections. They were the lucky ones. One day, the man came back and not with a needle and food like usual. This time, the cage door was only opened a little. Inside, came a monster. A large white monster that slithered and hissed. The boy ran to a corner, trying to hid, but there was nowhere to go. He screamed, panicked, even tried to climb the walls. Nothing could save him. Turning, he saw the eyes of the beast. The green slit eyes glowed as the large monstrous jaws opened. In an instant, there was darkness. Darkness for so long, he didn't know... Suddenly, there was light. Crawling onto the floor, covered in sticky, clear goo, the boy opened his eyes and saw the familiar cell. Turning to beast, it laid on the floor. Dead. Soulless. Hollow. The boy felt cold, his skin pale and reflective like the scales of the beast. A reflection from the puddle would reveal more. The once brown hair was now white, the hazel eyes were now slit and green. Who...was he, again? Wasn't he always like this? The man with silver hair and glasses came back, but not this time with a painful injection. He came with a smile, a warm hand to ease the coldness of the boy's skin. Affection and comforting. With a warm blanket, he covered the bare skin and it was on his arm, did the boy notice a small, but beautiful creature swimming like a living drawing. It was in the same shape of the dead beast, and wasn't all that scary anymore. Being picked up by the man, he was cuddled and safe from harm. It was always like this, wasn't it?While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
