"S-Sensei Kankuro..." the brown haired girl stuttered after she had brought Hinata back from her examination.
Kankuro looked at her fiercely and helped Hinata get back into her bed.
"The K-Kazekage told me, you shall bring the results to his office"
Kankuro growled and ripped the papers out of her hand. The girl jumped in shock and left the room quickly.
"Kankuro... Don't be so harsh on her." Hinata covered herself with the still warm blanket as she spoke to Kankuro. The sand nin sighed and sat on her bed.
"Yeah... You're right. It's my father I'm angry at... Not Matsuri..." he admitted. It had just been the second day after their marriage, still Kankuro's hatred among his father had increased rapidly. He couldn't help it. All this time he had fought for him, had protected his dubious idealism, had killed in his name. He had never thought good about his father. Still he had obeyed. But now... For some reason, and he was sure the reason was Hinata, he started to question every single move his father did.
"I'm going to take that to my father..." Kankuro sighed, stood up and left through the door.
Hinata watched him as he left. She was worried about Kankuro. He seemed really confused and angry. But she had no idea how she could help him. Also she still felt confused herself due to this weird dream she had had. Thinking about it gave her a headache so she decided to just let it go for today.
Time skip
Three weeks had gone by. Hinata had gotten out of the hospital when the Kazekage had had her results in his hands. He had been informed that she had been in hospital. His only "concern" had been that Gaara and Hinata hadn't confirmed their marriage like he had told them to. After reading her results he had told his maids to let her go.
The last three weeks Hinata had trained hard, had helped out in the hospital and had taught in Suna's ninja school. With every day she spent in the desert she got used to it more, she even learned to love it. Sure she missed home.
Still... Sasuke had been right. Marrying Gaara had set her free from her cage. From the heavy last name she had worn years and years. A last name that had pushed her to her knees. Now the great pressure was gone.
Here she felt free, although the Kazekage had an eye on her all the time. Especially when he heard that she and Gaara hadn't seen each other since the morning after their wedding night.
Rasa was raging. And Hinata just didn't know where Gaara was. She was worried. But Temari and Kankuro assured her that he was fine. He just needed some time for himself. Maybe they approved his absence.
His father didn't. Not at all.
Still Rasa didn't tell his other children to search for Gaara, he seemed to wait until he would get him. To get him the punishment he deserved in his eyes. But first he would leave him in the dark, surprising him with his actions....
Temari and Kankuro had helped Hinata teaching and training. They had spent much time together, had grown closer and closer. To Hinata both of them became her most precious people. Although she tried to not hurt Kankuro by getting too close.
Gaara had hid in a place Noone knew about. He always hid in here when he wanted to be alone. Completely alone. And because his room was now also Hinata’s, hiding there didn't give him the time alone he needed.
As a kid he had made himself a little cavern in the walls that surrounded Suna. The cavern was closed so that nobody could find him.
Gaara laid on his back and stared at the ceiling of his sandy hiding place. For the last few weeks he had been thinking about Hinata and the strange connection he felt whenever she was around, the feeling she gave him. The unspoken words in his head turned and turned.
He couldn't sleep, although this was nothing new to him. He also couldn't eat. He felt sick and weak. Weak for something. In need for something. He told himself it was the sleep he craved.
Still Gaara decided to finally talk to her. To get things out of his head. It pounded and aiched more and more with every day he hid. As well as his heart.
He remembered when he had asked Yashamaru what could heal the pain. His uncle had told him: "There's only one thing that can heal the heart. Only one... It's Love, Gaara"
He had thought about that a lot. Could she heal his heart? The ache he was feeling for as long as he could remember?
Love... What a strange word. What a strange unpleasant feeling. Why did everyone cheered for it so much?
Was it love?
Was it love that he felt? He just knew whenever he closed his eyes, flashes of her came to his mind. Her beautiful hair, the breathtaking eyes, her soft, gentle features, her daintily hands, her delicate figure.
And whenever he tried to push these things aside, he saw her smiling at him, felt her kissing him, squeezing his hand, saying his name in the most beautiful sound he had ever heard.
Was this love?
Rasa looked out of the Kazekage’s office and saw his youngest son walking towards the Kazekage’s tower. The blood inside him was boiling. That misscreated bastard. He felt only hate towards his son. Nothing more, nothing less. His whole being was filled with it. Since the moment Karura had closed her eyes because she had been giving birth to this monster, Rasa had felt this way.
A smile crept over his face. Now would be the time, he would give him a punishment of a lifetime.
Hinata strolled around the hallways of the Kazekage’s tower. She couldn't sleep although her day had been really exhausting.
She missed Gaara and hoped he was okay. Something inside her told her so, still she didn't trust the feeling inside her. She needed to see him to be 100% sure that he was.
Without noticing she had reached the Kazekage’s office. Strange noises were heard inside. Similar to those noises when Rasa had attacked Gaara.
Hearing Gaara's voice her instincts reacted really fast this time. She didn't hestitate. Her blood was rushing through her body, her heart was racing, her breathing became uneasy and fast at the sight in front of her.
Rasa had Gaara pinned against the wall. Gaara's feet were inches above the floor while Rasa held both of his hands tightly around his neck. Gaara was nearly choking. The eyes widened in horror, his feet kicking and moving, his hands trying to get his father's hands away from his neck. But Rasa pushed down even more, making Gaara's eyes bloodshot. The veins in his eyes were bursting.
Without Hinata noticing she had opened her mouth to scream "Let him go!!!!!!"
And a second after, hands, made of sand, covered Rasa's arms, wrapped around them and crushed his bones under Hinata's painful, worried screams.
It happened so fast that neither of them understood what had happened.
Rasa's hands let go automatically and his face was blank and pale as he looked down at his mashed arms.
They hang on his body like they weren't a part of him. His blood covered the floor and he started panting while Gaara coughed heavily, his body still flowing above the floor. A cloud of sand under his feet that let him down slowly. Gaara fell to his knees and Hinata came rushing to him.
"Gaara!!!!" she cried and put her shaking hand on his shoulder.
"Are you alright?"
"How did you do that?" Gaara whispered. Speaking wasn't possible. Rasa had hurt his vocal cords too hard.
"What do you mean?" she asked in return.
"Who do you think you are, you little slut? I will kill you! Both of you!!! For what you did to me!" Rasa was raging, his arms still limb and dead hanging on his shoulders.
Hinata turned around to face him. Gaara could see a flash of brown in her eyes before she turned away.
"Don't ever touch him again, Rasa" Hinata screamed frantically. Her voice sounded different, still familiar to Gaara. He tried to calm his breathing and his heartbeat. He couldn't really breathe and he started to panic. But at the sound of Hinata's voice, he seemed to relax.
"Don't you dare to ever touch him again" she snapped and Gaara was sure to see a hint of yellow chakra surrounding her.
Rasa's eyes got even bigger.
"Karura" he whispered speechless but shook his head to get this ridiculous thought out of his mind.
"You're playing with my mind, don't you, Hyuga? Is this some kind of genjutsu?" he took a step forward and laughed.
How is this even possible? Hinata thought in horror. He is laughing though his both arms are smashed.
"Don't come any closer!" Hinata commanded in her normal voice again. But Rasa continued laughing. He was just two steps away.
"Do you think you can help him? Do you think, he could ever love you?" Rasa gave her his disgusting smile.
Hinata stood still. Her eyes were fierce, her body tense, tears still fell down her face.
"He is a monster and unwanted. Just like you are"
"Stop!" Hinata yelled at him.
"Gaara will kill you. One day or the other. And I don't care. Your father paid a lot of money to get rid of you. I can do whatever I want with you"
"Stop..." a weak whisper left her lips.
"You're going to die, just like he is. Because I and your father wanted it this way!" Rasa's eyes pierced her. They went right through her. Just like his words.
Hinata felt her body heating up drastically. Similar to the way it had done a few minutes ago, before she had entered the office.
"I said" she stood up and raised her opened hand. "STOP!!!!!!!!!"
Within seconds Rasa's whole body was surrounded by sand, like his arms had been.
A deep growl escaped Hinatas lips. She couldn't control herself in that moment. She didn't even know what she was doing. She had Rasa captured. And he seemed as surprised as she was.
The horror in the Kazekage’s eyes increased when her eyes became again a dark brown.
In a strange voice Hinata whispered
"Desert Funeral"
and what followed was a horrible sound of crashing limbs and blood dripping out of the sand coffin.
The Kazekage was dead.
